Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a mix of positive and negative experiences, with a majority leaning towards dissatisfaction. Common complaints include cleanliness issues, outdated facilities, and unpleasant smells in the rooms. However, some guests appreciated the affordable prices, quiet location, and helpful staff.

I didn’t expect much for the price but this place is the stuff of nightmares. The furniture looks like it was picked up off the side of the road. The chair by the desk was a flimsy wheeled chair, the kind you pick up for a couple of bucks because you know your kid is going to trash it anyway. This on looked like it was retired from decades in a teenagers room, then set on fire. The bathroom door didn’t shut and the white paint was smeared with filth all over. I wouldn’t dare store food in the mini fridge for hygienic reasons. And who knows how long the forgotten panties had been lying behind the fridge. Don’t worry about amenities. There are none. Again, didn’t expect much for the price, but this room was only partially more inviting than an abandoned home in Chernobyl.
- 3/5
Property is a bit decrepit.
- 2/5
Booked online . Only hotel close to where I needed to be. Unfortunately the hotel is pretty run down , furniture was in bad shape, and needed replacement. Surfaces were visibly dirty! The bedding and bathroom appeared to be clean , but I could not recommend staying there, unless money is a major issue! Desk clerk was helpful, but the facility is a big NO!
- 5/5
It was very comfortable
- 1/5
The room smelled terrible and the sheets were stained and didn't look very clean.
- 3/5
Thr room didn't have alot of security and no smoke detectors in the room. The floor freaked and it was loop sided.
- 5/5
Yes I will stay there again.
- 1/5
cigarette butts in the drawers; dirty floors; clogged bathroom sink; dangling wires, and no smoke/CO detector in room.
- 5/5
Good to sleep
- 1/5
Room smelled dingy and musty. Batroom was dirty. And to top it off my fiance has a service dog who the ignorant owner tried to make us pay for. And when told he was a service dog the idiot wanted my fiance to show proof of her condition. Told him to maybe read the americans with disabilities act. Wouldnt recommend it to my worst enemy. Overall 1 star is a bit high but cant give negative stars. Dirty gross property with rude ignorant management
- 4/5
This was reasonably convenient. Inside room was clean, but furniture was well used. Only one chair which should have been replaced. Outside was dusty and cobweb covered. Best thing was price.
- 2/5
Dirty, roaches, building needs work
- 1/5
The hotel was in deplorable condition. The light didn’t work in the room. Room was filthy and smelled old. Ice machine broken. No one at front desk. No view of River. Ad was misleading.
- 5/5
staued multiple times in last few weeks no complaints
- 2/5
For starters, the word HELP was scratched into our room door. Sketchy place. Several bugs. No secure way to lock the door. Everything around this place - inside and out - is a MASSIVE safety hazard. Definitely more of a local motel for locals with unfortunate addictions to stay/live in. I wasn't expecting much at all and knew it wasn't going to be a great place, but i just needed a place to lay my head for a few hours at night and a quick shower in the mornings. I was at least expecting a door that would lock and not have HELP scratched into it! And maybe even a room that was a tad bit cleaner.
- 1/5
The place is not clean. We ended up staying only one night even though we paid for 2. It was stinky and looked like it wasn't cleaned for years. The surfaces were layered in grime and the smell was like cigarettes and cheap perfume. You get what you pay for.

First class
- 5/5
Great staff and quiet area. Had a relaxing stay!
- 4/5
Not fancy but efficient and clean.
- 1/5
door was orange off the bat, after opening the door i noticed the double lock was broken off and unusable which made me feel uneasy. then i notice the bathroom door literally has a hole in it… like someone punched it. very eery and i was so uneasy i slept with all the lights on
- 2/5
The filthiest place I have ever stayed. The room itself was not so bad. although it was pretty run down, but everything about outside the room was pretty disgusting. Peeling paint everywhere. the stairs to the second floor have not been swept in weeks. The lobby had a musty smell. probably due to the mini ice machine there. No place to hand clothes in the room and nowhere to sit at a desk or counter to work on a computer. It WAS the cheapest hotel within half an hour of the Saratoga Jazz festival but I think most would rather pay the going rate of twice what this place charged to stay in an at least acceptable place.
- 1/5
Place was great distance for the kayaking event but definitely unacceptable on finding a crack pipe behind the bed area. We went to charge our phone on the few putlets that worked and when I moved the bed there was a Crack pipe. How did this motel even change the sheets if this pipe was freely visible if the beds are getting changed frequently. Run down motel, yes it was a last min room but bathrooms are dirty, bathtub was stained, door was falling apart from molding door. Will never stay here again if I was around the area.
- 5/5
It was a quiet place and small comfortable room
- 1/5
The room was very dirty and smelled horrible
- 4/5
Great location, everything else is pretty sketchy. Don't expect painted doors or good caulking. Clean sheets and towels, no bugs are the highlight, bring slippers for the dirty floor. No closet or hangers either.
- 4/5
This is a very old, shabby, dingy, independent motel with minimal amenities (a small fridge, a tv, no microwave). But you know what? It was secure, quiet (except for some croaking frogs outside 😏), free of vermin, the room and bed were clean, the lights and shower worked, outlets were adequate, and it’s the cheapest place in town. I’m in the area occasionally. Would I stay here again? Yes. I would, and probably will.
- 3/5
Outdated and bed was hard but appeared to be clean with no bugs
- 3/5
The staff was kind and quick.

- 3/5
good affordable location..
- 5/5
Cheap hotel. Nothing fancy but had all the basic hotel amenities and no sight of any bug infestation.
- 5/5
property dumper was full and garage on the ground, needs some clean up and paint. if you need a place for a night for the price not bad.
- 4/5
Glad i found this place theres no sec dep Will def return
- 3/5
Low end, but clean.
- 2/5
Room and sheets smelling
- 2/5
Walked into a dirty room. Floors we're filthy. Broken desk drawer. Asked for clean towels 2 days in a row. Never got towels we ended up leaving 2 days early. Under the sheets were horrible. Burn holes. Actual mattress was stained. It was a cheap hotel. But very nasty. .
- 1/5
Didn't sleep there and still charge my card
- 5/5
Always a great stay , friendly staff nice rooms quiet place
- 1/5
This place was so bad with mold smell , we could not stay. We checked in and noticed the smell . We just put our bags inside and had an event to go to. When we arrived back to the room the smell of mold was so bad we left
- 5/5
Very quiet and peaceful. Clean rooms and shee
- 2/5
Property condition was poor
- 5/5
Nice n quiet
- 5/5
Great value
- 2/5
Motel vieux et manquant franchement d’entretien, mal situé. L’odeur n’était pas agréable et la propreté laissait à désirer
- 5/5
Real quiet and the view
- 5/5
The price per night was so reasonable. They sell water at $1. We love sitting on the porch/balcony outside the rooms. The room was small but recently renovated. We would recommend this place to others.
- 3/5
July 23, 2024- I stayed 4 nights at this Inn. What stood out when I first entered the room. The white stucco walls, needed to be cleaned, and re-painted. The included refrigerator did work. But was small, and positioned on the floor. So it was hard to access. I did not detect insect infestation. This is important. The shower worked, and there was hot & cold water. But the bath sink. The cold faucet, came out hot and warm temperature. The A/C worked, and cooled the room. But this attached unit, and filter were dirty. The bed/mattress was average. There was cable TV, But I ended up not watching much. I would rate the Inn as average. Cleaning would be a priority. As it would create a more appealing atmosphere to guests. Ann Secombe

Too scary to stay.
- 4/5
Our hotel we booked 4 months previous canceled the day before or trip. Waterford Inn got us in immediately and for an even lower price. They were courteous andthe rooms were clean. Although it's a little further away, I will definitely return for my next trip to SPAC!
- 1/5
Mold all over the shower curtains. The little refrigerator leaked water all over the floor throughout the room. The room was dingy, paint drippings all over the shower.
- 2/5
Bathroom was a mess. It had been painted at one time but there were drips from the paint that had never been wiped up. The sink, toilet, tub and floor had big splatters of dried paint everywhere. there were cigarette burns on the edge of tub. Floor was dirty. Even though it was a No Smoking room there were lingering smells of cigarettes in room.
- 1/5
Was not at all as described
- 4/5
Close to home
- 1/5
The management is completely discriminatory. They knew upon check in we have a non verbal autistic 4 year old. And we were asked to leave due to him making noise that “disrupted” others whom were only doing drugs all night and partying. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with a family.
- 3/5
Shower and ac were stained
- 3/5
Loved the quietness, room and furniture dated and could have been cleaner
- 3/5
excellent prices for soft drinks at the machine in the office plus a microwave for customer use there
- 2/5
If you expect anything other than a dingy room with workable facilities, you will be disappointed.
- 2/5
People living there full time. Dirty, air barley worked.
- 1/5
“Non-smoking” room reeked of cigarette smoke. The vibe was creepy. We found another hotel.
- 1/5
I witnessed a woman being dragged out by cuffs, berating the officers about the meth they destroyed “mid-cook”, and the place smelled like ammonia and terpentine. Not sure if I would book again
- 4/5
We only spent one night there on our way home from Boston, so it's an old place and needs to be renovated, but given its low cost, I'd say it's quite good for a one night's sleep.
- 1/5
The property was actually a run down motel in an unsafe area. My dad n I pulled into the parking lot, unable to find the front door. Felt like I was in a horror movie. The pictures online showed if being a nice place to stay. We left and booked a room at Comfort Inn.
- 1/5
My car broke down and I was unable to make check in. When I called to cancel, the owner was incredibly unsympathetic and unhelpful
- 4/5
The Staff was very nice at check in. Its safe and quiet with easy parking!
- 1/5
No microwave in the room, bathroom door lock doesn’t work, no amenities in the room, old and outdated furniture.
- 4/5
Certainly adequate for an overnight or two. Very basic but very good value. We'd stay there again.
- 4/5
Typical motel, great location, no amenities, I had a room the AC did not work. room smelled like cigarrette No worth the 70 plus dollars paid.
- 3/5
The property is satisfactory. We were there for 2 nights. The room was ready when we arrived. It’s a little old and outdated but the room was clean, bathroom was clean and bed had clean sheets. It was a non-smoking room and didn’t notice any cigarette smell. Over all really no complaints, it’s a budget property and would stay there again if I needed a cheap clean room.
- 2/5
Old,dirty falling apart. No TV service my weekend stay. A/c and WiFi actually worked well. Not for a family stay. But, if you are a single guy on a budget ....you will survive.
- 1/5
My initial assigned (nonsmoking) room smelled so badly of cigarette smoke that I went to the front desk again for the first time in my life and asked for a change of rooms. My next room still had smoke stains on every surface (including a thick brown film on the lamp and grey marks all over the bathroom door) and smelled bad enough to make me have to wash all the clothes I brought on my trip, but it was a marked improvement from the first one (which smelled like I had moved into a chain smoker's actual body). Also, the door didn't seem to lock quite right and there was a plastic circle on the wall that looked suspiciously like where a smoke detector was *supposed* to be, but I can't be sure about that. The staff was honestly nice, and the parking was safe, and I've been in one *scarier* motel, but yeah, all in all, I strongly would not recommend. Next time I go to the event I was in town for I think I'll be sleeping in my car.
- 1/5
The rooms were dirty. There was beer bottles all over the area. Noisy
- 1/5
They need a upgrade badly
- 1/5
Dirty. Had to clean my room myself. Spent 2 hours cleaning and disinfecting. Dusty. Hadn't been cleanned in over 4 months is my guess. They offered full refund but by that time we werent able to find anything else in the area that wasnt over 150 a night.
- 3/5
Looked like being used used for housing?
- 2/5
This place is just one degree above a flop house.
- 1/5
The pros .. yes there were a couple.. the AC worked, very quiet to sleep, and the curtains keep the morning sun out. Wouldn’t stay there again and wasn’t worth the $75.00 I paid
- 1/5
Don't stay here. The property was appalling. Absolutely dirty and disgusting. We didn't even stay there for one night. We ended up checking out and getting a refund except for the first night we had to pay.
- 1/5
Don't go there
- 1/5
I left and found another hotel.
- 5/5
Quiet location. Only problem was getting up steps.
- 3/5
The name and pictures are very misleading. Wgen you call they answer Scottish Inn. The bed was clean the show on the other hand was filthy and cracked. I suppose the grounds is also for extended stays as well, but the people sat outside and talked which woke me up in the middle of the night. You get what you pay for I suppose.
- 3/5
It was fine. Old school kind of vibe. Very bare bones. Wish the people in the room next door didn’t sit right outside smoking 20 hours a day. But mostly, it was fine for me. Don’t expect a bunch of amenities. It’s a bed, bathroom, microwave, Tv, and tiny fridge. Again, that’s all I needed/wanted but recommending it requires a lot of caveats.
- 3/5
I like the fact that it was near the hudson river. I did not like the fact that when i opened the door to my room that it smelled of black mold and it was extemely dusty.
- 2/5
We booked 3 nights and left shortly after 10:30 PM the first night and never returned. The rooms next to us sat outside near the door drinking and smoking. They may as been in the same room . Loud
- 1/5
I am really disappointed because around my room like in the hallway there were dirty everywhere smelling very bad.I was sleeping terrible because my bed was broken I couldn’t sleep at all because I was going down inside the bed.The chair for sitting was dirty spotted everywhere.Bathtub was also dirty .microwave is too dirty to use The customer service wasn’t bad .He was helpful but he was unable to charge my mattress
- 5/5
It was a pretty decent place for it to be a motel. Thought i was going to see it broken down or dirty but it waa the complete opposite.
- 1/5
Looks nothing like pictures, was given the first room and requested a different one due to the over powering smell of weed. People fighting all night that were drunk. We were pulled out of all the rooms due to someone calling the swat team and then cops were there two more times before midnight. This all happened within 5 hours. I would never stay there again!
- 4/5
Nice area.
- 3/5
It was a 2 night stay to attend a meeting in the area. So, the location was convienient to my needs. The property itself is hidden inside a residential community. The yard itself needs some care but the room was clean and equipped. It served the purpose. Need proper signage as the Ubers came and were confused as it says "motel" and did not give the name of the inn.
- 4/5
Room was satisfactory
- 4/5
Tiny refrigerator but they had ice available and decent bed and room and good WiFi.
- 3/5
Only 2 thimgs wete sketchy. The parking lot was unlit and the AC needs to be cleaned-smelled a little moldy.
- 5/5
It’s cheap and quiet place to sleep
- 3/5
It was in a unsafe neighborhood and a lot of drugs
- 3/5
The hotel has some very sketchy “guests” who were drinking and smoking outside of their rooms. Not rowdy, just stinky. If you can look past that, and need a place to sleep for the night, it’s fine. The linens were clean and room was clean but if you want something higher end, stay elsewhere.
- 1/5
As a touring band we have stayed in some real holes ....this one takes the cake. So dirty, nasty, gross and smelly. We tried to get out of it but NOPE....we were stuck. You have been warned!
- 4/5
Great spot on the Hudson. Cute older motel. Probably been in the family for decades. Away from the busy crowded places.
- 1/5
Honestly there was not a lot to like about this motel. The staff was rude & would come in unannounced. BEWARE room 213 u
- 4/5
It was a good place to sleep. It was quiet, and the bed was comfortable.
- 1/5
the place is a dump! Go there for yourself and see...
- 2/5
Definitely not as quaint as in the photos. Shady people staying in the motel, doorknob falling off, heard gunshots nearby while trying to fall asleep.
- 1/5
Bad neighborhood. Building is not maintained. We were told by a “resident” to constantly “watch our backs”. We were awoken by screams the following morning. You don’t want to sit outside and you can’t see the Hudson River anyway through the overgrowth.
- 4/5
We enjoyed the peacefulness. Aside from the shower curtain it was very clean. Local eateries nearby were delightful and very reasonable.
- 3/5
Arrived late, slept, left early. Didn’t look as well maintained as other places we stayed on our trip. Affordable, open late and got us into room quickly. Perfect for guys roadtrip, but wife would have balked at staying here.
- 3/5
Clean and as advertised. Friendly management. Otherwise as advertised. What more can I say? What more can I say?
