    The room was in need of a new mattress, it had a need pocket on one side of the bed, it was very visible and I literally had to keep scooting to the center of the bed to avoid it. The water in the shower took a while to get warm and the bathroom cabinet was peeling. Definitely need some upgrade. Overall place was not terrible but the front desk staff and the bartender need an attitude adjustment. First off the vending machines didn’t have bottled water so that left the customers to ask the front desk for water. It was like I was asking them to provide me with air to breathe, so rude then one told me they didn’t have water, only to give me two small bottles after she saw my reaction to her rudeness. The bartender was oh so slow and unwelcoming, she paid more attention to her friends at the bar than the actual guests.

    The lights in the room didn’t work it’s was previous hair already in the towels. Got two keys and one didn’t work, toilet had a weak flush so we had to keep getting maintenance to plunge the toilet.

    * There was no hot water in the shower during my entire stay, which forced me to wash in the sink. * The bathroom door had peeling paint, giving the room a worn and poorly maintained appearance. * There were noticeable marks and debris on the walls, and the room did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned. * I was unexpectedly checked out because a full authorization hold had not been placed on my card. As a result, I had to go through the check-in process again the following day, which was inconvenient. * One of the amenities I was looking forward to was the complimentary cookies, but I was never offered one during my stay. * Upon arrival, the light near the room entrance was not working, and the bedside lamp was missing a light bulb. Overall, the combination of maintenance issues, cleanliness concerns, and service inconveniences made for a disappointing experience.

    While the front desk team gave me a kind welcome and even changed my room ar my request (to a higher floor), my room was not cleaned throughout my four-day stay. The first morning I realized there was no shower gel in the shower, the second morning I did not fing shampoo, regardless the many request the shampoo bottle was not replenished until my last night, after the 4th request.

    We only had hot water 1 of the 3 nights we stayed. They charged $75 to park that I was not made aware of prior to my stay. And they put a $70 PER NIGHT hold on my card twice in case we messed up the room. So an extra $420 was held. Not impressed at all.

    The staff at this property were incredibly helpful and welcoming during our stay! However, there were a few areas that could be improved. We always have takeout food when we travel, so having a microwave in the room would have been a very useful addition. Additionally, we noticed some stains on the couch/sofa in the room, and there was a very strong, unpleasant odor/stench on the 5th floor that definitely needs to be addressed.

    Booked a room at the Hyatt in Expedia, with Less than 3 weeks before the trip was told they couldn’t accommodate us and switched to double tree. I had to switch rooms THREE TIMES. First the bathroom shower and sink were leaking and loud. Then they didn’t have the proper room we booked- 2 queen and a couch. We needed up stuck in a king and a couch which we couldn’t properly fit on. Ceiling had leaks. Multiple outlets didn’t work. Couldn’t get ready in bathroom with no outlet but the mirror in the room was blocked by tv and had no light. Elevator sounded like it was going to drop and fall any second. Housekeeping just walks in the room- I was getting dressed. You can tell it’s old and run down and they tried to seal some paint on but overall it was dingy and dirty and looked like the walls could cave in any minute due to the multiple old leaks u can see they patched up not correctly.

    I had to get switched to another room due to the rust inside of the shower, bathroom wall, and floor dirty. The next room I went into was not clean. The floor in the bathroom on side of the sink was very dirty. The cabinets were dusty by the refrigerator. The refrigerator didn’t really get cold. The cabinet in the bathroom were missing handles.

    Online, the hotel advertised that parking was included, but upon arrival we were charged an additional $24 per night for parking. We also had a very disappointing experience with the front desk staff. When I brought up issues with our room, I was told there were “no other rooms available.” However, moments later, the guests in front of me mentioned similar issues and were immediately offered a different room. The difference in treatment was very noticeable and left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. We originally booked a king room but were told only double rooms were available. When we asked if they were double queens, the receptionist said yes, but they were actually full-size beds. The cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. The sheets had makeup stains on them as if they had not been properly changed from the previous guest. There was hair in the shower and on the toilet when we arrived. To make matters worse, my husband walked into the lobby restroom and found a man openly doing cocaine on the sink. That alone made us feel extremely unsafe staying there. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had, and we will absolutely never stay here again.

    HOWEVER some things that are important to note, and maybe I missed it when I booked. Parking is $25 per night, that was $50 I hadn't budgeted when I arrived. Also, breakfast is not included, they DO have very good breakfasts, but it's basically the price of going to a restaurant. Me and my kids, I think cost around $40 for our breakfast... which I also didn't budget for. I don't know if May is still early in the season, but they have a really nice outdoor area, but the pool was green and gross, and the firepit was full of water with old logs floating in it... it would have been nice to sit outside by a fire. TOTALLY GREAT NERD BONUS: The hotel is located on the same street as one of the 196 Muffler Men statues left in the United States. That made up for the parking and breakfast costs.

    The young gentleman at the counter the night I checked in was absolutely helpful, kind and friendly as well as the young man who handled parking the next day. They were the best thing about my stay. I called for towels and waited for 6 hours and ended up washing my hair and showering with a hand towel. I was told by housekeeping they were unable to keep up with laundering and getting towels in the rooms. That’s unacceptable. Those towels I called for never showed up. There was sludge around the bottom of the shower door. The handle was broken on one of the doors of the closet. The breakfast was thrown together and mostly out by 0830-0930. The young lady walking the floor and clearing tables was very nice and helpful. When I checked in Friday night the young man at the front desk was super helpful and working as quickly as he could to check people in and accommodate all the people standing in line for towels. It was shocking to me that towels of all things would be such an issue. It put a huge kink in hour plans to be deprived of showers before going out of the hotel. I was absolutely blown away that a Hilton hotel would not be stocked with enough towels to accommodate the guests! Needless to say, I won’t be staying in a Hilton hotel again.

    Parking near the hotel, felt safe. Got to Atl on a delayed flight at 2:00 am, called shuttle. As I was riding, booked a hotel Doubltree because it cheaper on line. Arrived at hotel around 2:40am. Agent said I booked it on Sunday& could not checked in until 4:00 pm. It was actually Sunday 2:40am. I had been flying since 2:00 pm on Saturday from SFO. I am 76 years old, but I could not stay at your Hotel. Agent said we have room, but you would be a walk customer & it costs a lots more. I choose to drive home 1 1/2 hour home. This is Sad, is this how you treat Senior Citizen. I really needed my $ back, because I could not stay & had to drive . I am a Hilton Honor Member. I will be waiting for your answer.

Unfortunately, it appeared that the staff was the biggest user. The breakfast was a huge disappointment. Food quality was disgusting and bins not replenished. I had to hunt down my own coffee.

    To make matters worse, I lost my wallet during my stay. I contacted the staff, and they told me they would check and get back to me, but I never received a call. I ended up driving back to the property myself, only to be told that my room had been reassigned immediately after I checked out, so they claimed the wallet couldn’t have been there. The whole situation felt disorganized and dismissive. I came here expecting to relax and have a good time, but instead the experience was stressful and disappointing. I understand that problems can happen, but better maintenance, communication, and customer service would have made a huge difference.

    I liked the location of the hotel and it was decently clean. I arrived at the hotel to be bombarded by signs of a parking fee and signs of secure your valuables. I did not know about the parking fee, but I would like to think if I am paying to park the car that the lot would at least be secure. Then, the thermostat in the room was not working, so I called the front desk and asked for assistance with getting the room cooled down. I got a call from the front desk with some instructions on how to cool the room down. I felt some relief, so I went to sleep then I woke up 2 hours later in a full-body sweat, right before my alarm was supposed to go off for my morning flight. At this point, I just decided to get up and leave early for my flight making my total stay 5 hours, which was not worth my money. When I checked in I knew I had limited time in my room, I feel like it was wrong to try and spend time coaching me through a room with a cooling issue rather than move me to a new room that had a proven cooling system that works. Because I was not afforded that opportunity and did not get the sleep I needed, I feel like I should have been offered some compensation. Instead it was suggested to me that I should have demanded a cooler room in my limited stay, which I had no time for.

    The room was horrible. The shower was dirty, the pull out sofa had stains EVERYWHERE, they ran out of clean towels, they couldn’t find me an iron, they did give me an ironing board, not sure what to do with it since there was no iron. The property is old and it shows. I will NEVER in life book another double tree hotel EVER!!

    You have to pay $25 to park in the hotel's parking lot in addition to what the room costs. Hotel airport so I get it but you would think Expedia would list some sort of notice on posting or when booking. Even worse, my vehicle window was busted out overnight. Luckily nothing of value was in there. I didnt leave until 9 AM but there were at least 10 other vehicles that experienced same fate. You pay for the parking via QR code where you're requied to share name, license plate info, room #, etc. Why the hotel never let those affected know beforehand is beyond me. I did not find out until I walked to my car and saw all the police notification stickers. So unless it was done at 8:30 AM in broad daylight, staff had plenty of time to give a heads up. Worst part of all, there was a police vehicle parked in the lot the entire time i was there (well at least until i went to bed at midnight). Assume, and like to hope, thats what most of the $25/night goes to. I did see a police officer outside of her car on my way back from dinner around 11 PM. Unfortunately, thats because she was goofing off with hotel employees at one of the side doors. If you decide to stay there my best advice is to park as close to the hotel's entrance as able.

    The front desk staff was so nice but that’s about as far as the good went. The room was so run down. There was rust on everything. The couch had stains. There was so much hair in the tub. There was no hair dryer in the room and when I called to ask, they said they didn’t have any extra & that I’d have to wait for housekeeping but they didn’t know when they were coming. So I had to go to the airport with wet hair. The whole property was ick.

    The convenience of the 24 hour shuttle, every half hour. The freshly baked cookies as you arrive it's always a great treat after a travel day. The messages you get as you arrive to greet you and ask if you need anything and how fast they reply. I thought I had left a gift in the room and Tarla immediately sent someone over to check. I had left it at the airport security line. They all provide really good customer service! I will definitely stay at this property again. N/A

    The location was close to everywhere I needed to be. The whole floor off the elevator stinks. My room smelled like mildew. And the tub filled with dirty water as soon as you start taking a shower and it took a long time to even go down. I had to leave to go properly shower! And I paid for 2 nights I checked in at 7:35pm and checked out before noon the next day! I will never come back I’m from Ohio. To pay as much as I did for two nights my stay should have been worth it! Never again!! They nights shouldn’t be the price that it is especially with they funky aroma smells I paid cheaper prices for better stays! This was a waste of my time,money and trip.

    It was very clean and conveniently located closed to the airport. Almost everyone who worked there, including the people in the restaurant were very friendly. The only person who had an attitude and was not very helpful was the lady working the day we left at 4am. I get its super early but if I'm being respectful and asking a simple question, there is no need for attitude. It seemed like she didnt even want to be there. I also had booked a King with a sofa and they tried to change me to a double with standard sized bed. I dont appreciate when staff tries to change what I specifically booked. I did end up with a King but there was no reason to attempt to change me. I also only had 2 towels in the room but I had listed 3 of us staying, I had to ask for extra towels the next day. There was no sheets for the pull out sofa and I was asked to go pick them up myself from the lobby. That should have already been available and much less asked of me to go get. There was also no hand soap which they stated they ran out of which is a big issue. I had to use the shower gel to wash my hands after using the bathroom.

    The pictures that are advertised is NOT what they offer. I thoroughly check every room I go into for multiple reason and when i checked our room here, the pillows were dirty and stained; the furniture in the room were dirty and stained; the shower floor was dirty; they had no hand soap/no shower gel; the floors were not vacuumed. I know it can't be PERFECT, but it should be cleaned after the previous guests. The front desk person, Tai, was very helpful and moved us to a different room. The new room shower was dirty and leaked all over the floor causing us to use the 2 towels provided to clean it up. I would not recommend this hotel and would be more willing to spend more money on a nicer hotel room just for the comfort and cleanliness of it. Upon check out, multiple cars had been broken into, so the safety is slim to none.

    Usually Hilton properties are clean and hospitable. This DoubleTree left a lot to be desired. We stayed from Monday through Friday and our room was cleaned only once (Tuesday) even though we requested on several occasions to at least have sleepover service (clean towels and made beds). The staff failed to respond to the requests leaving us to sleep all week in a room filled with dirty used towels and unmade beds. Although some of the staff were courteous and welcoming, this breakdown in communication and workflow left a bad taste. Additionally, I had to go to the front desk to request that the shower liner be cleaned as it had a line of filth along the bottom, and I returned to the room to find that the liner was simply removed; never cleaned and never replaced. We had to request clean towels and toilet paper from the front desk as well. And if that weren’t enough, our first night there was interrupted by a male staff member who walked into our room unannounced, which I know for a fact is customary, and simply apologized stating he didn’t know the room was occupied. Overall, this was the worst experience in all my travels with Hilton.

Young man when checked in was a little overwhelmed but very polite, friendly and helpful. There was a young woman who went out of her way to flag down the shuttle at 5am that we are very grateful for.

    The staff seemed overwhelmed with an influx of Israelis arriving with no housekeeping avaliable. They were oversold, leaving several customers without accommodations. I checked in, expecting to get relaxed after a long trip to find my room in disarray. The employees at the front desk were so polite and professional. They gave me linen, and i made my own bed for the night. It was very different from my passed experiences.

    This location was close to the airport which was convenient. However the front desk clerk that checked us in was very dismissive and short. My wife was very upset due to the treatment she received from the front desk clerk. Upon entering the room while it looked fairly decent their was not enough towels and rags, no soap to take a bath, and the air condition was manually powered off leaving the room extremely hot.

    Check in was very smooth especially due to some may things going on during this time I went.     We flew into town to attend a funeral and thought this hotel was going to be sufficient for our stay. Upon arrival the lobby music is so loud it’s like you’re at a club. The check-in people had a slight attitude or were there to collect a check, it was clear. The hotel was DIRTY! I mean everything from food stains and splatter on the wall to the carpet being GROSS!!! Also, they don’t automatically clean your room fault, like plenty of hotels do! You have to ASK FOR HOUSEKEEPING!!! Did you hear what I said!? We had to ask for our room to be clean! Or did get toilet paper or fresh towels! Our hotel room was gross the bathroom clearly wasnt clean, nothing. Also, they charge you PER DAY to park on their lot. It was terrible from beginning to end and we regret staying here.

    I want to start off with my room. Aesthetics alone were not good with the dated furniture. Top it off with a dirty bathroom and it just magnified my displeasure. The sink still had the shavings of a previous customer. Then, I was awaken around 0330 from a sound sleep to a dog that just kept barking and barking. I was unable to go back to sleep and I had a 0700 meeting that was extremely important to me. I called the front desk to report this and was told they already received complaints about it and were working on rectifying the issue. I was later told that people with pets are usually placed on the second floor, so I am assuming the guest did not disclose that they had a pet. I later went to the desk and asked if the dog issue was resolved so I wouldn’t have to deal with it again on my last night. I was assured that issue was resolved and that the guest checked out. And then your associate had the nerve to ask me why didn’t I call and report it. I was flabbergasted!!! I told her that yes, I did call and was told it was being taken care of. As an African American professional man, I am so sick of going to businesses and spending my well earned money only to encounter ignorant people who want to talk to you like you are their friend or family. Just horrible!!

    The room looks nothing like it’s pictured. Rooms are outdated. There were stains on the carpet when I walked in the couch was undone. The TV was dirty with handprints. And they had unscrewed the door to the refrigerator and broken off a portion of the wood. There was also a faint odor to the room. I’m not sure how it previously got an 8.2 rating. But the cherry on top was when the emergency alarm went off at 3 AM and the whole building had to be evacuated.

    Let's get this straight there is no breakfast at Doubletree unless you pay $22 for it extra or something like that so did I enjoy the breakfast no I paid for it but was told it wasn't for me I was also woke up in the morning at 3:30 in the morning and told to vacate the premises because they didn't know why they still don't know why I guess everybody in the hotel had to come down and stand in the lobby for no reason for about an hour that's all I really care to share this point because it was so horrible after that too we're talking OSHA violations we're talking employees that don't know where they're at much less know what they're supposed to do in an emergency handicapped people left in the lurch other than that the state was fine

    Booked last minute after flight delays had me stuck in Atlanta for the night. Delta offered a credit to certain hotels in the area but after checking into one I immediately checked out due to a lack of cleanliness. I was able to easily book a room at the double tree in my uber and check in was immediate despite being before normal check in time. Front desk and bartender were very pleasant. The hotel bar accepted my delta food voucher for dinner. Room was very clean though the elevator made a few weird noises. Would absolutely stay again for quick travels through Atlanta. Airport shuttle the next morning was prompt and friendly.

    secondly…. there was no microwave in the room, im definitely not used to that! imagine your comfortable ready to eat and go to bed for your flight, only to realize you had to go downstairs in your night gown to warm up your meal! Ridiculous… Double tree you cannot be that cheap. The lady at the bar Tasha was AMAZING I would go back just to see her and spend my money! but staying at this hotel is a HECK NOOOO. I am not happy with this hotel as you can see and i’ve stayed at several… This one was the first and last.

    The staff member provided excellent customer service and always maintained a positive attitude. I felt safe as a solo traveler. Unfortunately, on 12/5 there was a water outage for about an hour. The hotel parking rate is super expensive-25 for self parking. There were stains on my sheets and the couches in the room. The bar soap was used and simply placed back in the container.

    I loved the free Chocolate bar but by 4, there wasn't much left so maybe it needs to be restocked often. I loved the lobby and the big screens to watch football. The bar attendant was super friendly and even though she had 2 minutes until her shift was over, she still served us and was super polite. The check in staff was very polite and courteous. This survey asks what I liked about the free breakfast but there was no free breakfast. We were told we had to pay for breakfast.

    Everything was good, except the back up generator wouldn’t start working I’m assuming. We were without power for a little over a hour.. maybe longer, I ended up falling asleep. It came on for a minute or two & then went right back o out. I thought that’s what the generators were for, to power up immediately if the power was to ever go out. Besides that, it was a smooth stay.

    The front desk guy was really nice, but get into the room and a huge stain on the couch. Nothing has been renovated in who knows how long and just DIRTY. We lasted 5 minutes in the room once the bugs started making an appearance. We grabbed all our stuff and checked out immediately. Immediately had to take a shower at our next hotel to get the smell off and the ick.

    The DoubleTree had a room AND an airport shuttle that ran late @ night. For our limited stay on short notice, we had a room up to DoubleTree's faultless standards, an attentive staff to calm us down ... & the cookies ... @ Midnight. It brought us back to our 1st stay @ a DoubleTree in London, England in the summer of 2013. Our son, who was 7 years old then (& his older sisters), thought the cookies were the best hotel greeting he had ever got was now the son to whom we were running to visit on Parents Weekend in college. The DoubleTree experience not only let us feel safe in a vulnerable moment, it also triggered warm memories that helped make that moment warm & touching.

    The door in my room was loose as if someone had tried to pry it open. Should have been fixed before assigning the room. The bed had a sink hole in it. I had to request anew room which they did switch me to another room. The next room air/heat system did not work. Maintenance had to change the entire unit out. It did work fine after the change. I should have received a partial refund for the issues I endured staying there. I will call the corporate office on Monday about this.

    They don’t know how to properly book and over booked their hotel! After I called and confirmed my reservation advised them my flight was delayed and what time I would be getting in. The lady said oh that will be fine we have plenty of rooms you won’t have any issues. I arrive and was told we sold out you can’t stay here. The guy who called hisself a manager was rude! Mind you it’s now 3 am. Never in my years of traveling experienced anything like this especially from a Hilton property!

    Received room keys , upon entering room noticed the bedspead was bundled up in a chair , as I continued to wlk into room room , no bedding was on matress, pillows were in disarray and garage can pulled out with no trash bag. Then I continued into bathroom, floor was filthy anda huge bug on sink that appeared to have been killed and his legs were detached from body spreaded on the sink. The hallway had stains and scattered trash as if no one ran a vacuum over it, Returned to desk, never received an apology and was issued a new room key to different room. Second room was cleaner but the smell was not pleasure at all. I Love double trees and was highly disappointed

    What I like most about the property it was very close to the airport, there were lost of places to eat near by. Walmart was about a 6 minute drive if you needed to grab something. What I didn’t like is I have stayed at doubletree hotels before and they were nice that’s why I chose to stay again but this particular one needs some upgrades the furniture was old and worn down.     We have canceled our reservation because bed linen was wrinkled, as if somebody had slept on it. We tried to change to another room but is was in the same state. The maid responsible for the third floor was very impatient. She told us that the hotel was full and they didn't have time to iron the linen.     The moment I pulled up to this hotel I didn’t like it. You have to pay to park there. I nvr payed to park at a hotel. Once inside it was very noisy the staff was not welcoming and the most disgusting part of it all is the staff was trying to swindle me into giving a tip if she was to waive the deposit or parking fee. Once in the room it was I notice it was dirty so I wound up leaving and going to another hotel where I was more comfortable and felt more safe.

    However, I must mention that the valet and self-parking options were a bit of a hassle. On multiple occasions, I had to leave and return only to find my car blocked by another vehicle. Fortunately, there were plenty of parking spots available if you prefer not to use valet. The on-site restaurant and bar were a great addition to the hotel. They had a pleasant atmosphere and an impressive selection of dishes. I was also impressed with the reasonable prices, as I believe you should be able to expect what you pay for. The pool was open during my stay, and they even offered breakfast options. Overall, I had a wonderful time at the hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

    Absolutely the worst experience ever. Tried to be modest due the events that was taking place over the weekend. Barely had a working shower. maintenance stated it was due to low water pressure and I had to use a technique for approximately 5-8 mins to get the shower to run but will lose water mid shower. Long waits for fresh lining and towels. As a Honor Member I was disappointed because I absolutely love the Hilton. Extras fees I never

    my stay was not good my first night i was put in the wrong i am disabled so my whole right side is weak the bathroom was not a roll in shower they said they take care of everything in the morning Saturday get here i they put me in the right room i was like ok they getting me right .then Sunday get here i get no house keeping my didn't get clean my therapist came and took me out to eat i come back around 10 o clock my room still not clean.im tripping cause i call down to front desk they was telling me your will be taking care of it never did the whole day Sunday no one came to clean the room if i wasn't disabled i would have clean the room myself. all asking politely is a refund from Friday i was put in the room not to mention i waited 2 hours to get in the room and its was the wrong room and a refund for Sunday cause I didn't get any service at all just a clean towel and rag .so my literary number is 72063878317577 phone number 404 553 1390 if you any question to be honest just want my friend cause of yhe bad services i received

    This was not as advertised at all. We stayed for one hour and left. I walked in and it reeked of urine and weed. The bathroom was extremely dirty and I could hear everything. We ended up driving through the night.

    It was July 4th late night.. I was trying to check in but there was no light from outside when I was trying to find this hotel..guess what power outage...I understand..but frontdesk says nothing they can do...nothing..but they asked my name so they can get me refund...yes this is Hilton franchise Doubletree hotel...no accommodation at all? Long story short ..no refund issues yet!

    Disappointed there was no room service available when the website states that there is room service. Restaurant was not open in the evening although website states there is a restaurant! Had to order food at the bar and wait there for food order. Bar was understaffed, only 1 person serving and she was taking the food orders and bagging up the food, as well as trying to serve beverages to guests, resulting in long waits for everyone.

    Me and my family booked two rooms here 4th july weekend for my grandsons birthday i needed 2 rooms costed me 1300 dollars 420 of it was refundable for accidentally damage to room frist problem room service didn’t clean are vacuum the room no new bed sheets for our stay no new bath are dry off towels, swimming pool was dirty grandkids couldn't swim they were disappointed one night power went out hotel dont have a back up generator so if you have a family member that needs to stay cool this is not the place plus parking 25 dollars a night so you would pay the same price as the people that just drop there car off to catch a plane i think if you stay at the hotel your parking should be free. Im really just disappointed in my trip to Atlanta

    This is the dirtiest Double Tree I’ve stayed in. Stains in and out of the room (couches, hallways, etc) and the pool was green. They said it was closed for cleaning but something major had to happen for it to be that color.

    The hotel lost power for approximately 2 hrs, water pressure on the 6th flr is minimal to none. While showering the water would complete go off make noise come back on and continuously do that. Bathroom is dirty, hallways are gross, horrible lighting, elevators are a disaster. Very unhappy with my stay

    By the time we arrived at the hotel, the valet parking was full of cars waiting and the shuttle was parked in front of the doors. We had to unload our bags and walk a far distance to get inside. Someone behind me had to remove the bollards so we could move our vehicles.

    it was fine, staff was AMAZINGLY friendly... but heard constant back and forth of what I can only assume was the elevator equipment. Couch was torn on the arm. Pretty big splotch of red on the carpet (red wine? blood??) and the a/c just didn't seem to keep the room cool. To be fair, it's possible I was doing something wrong, but the instructions seemed pretty simple. Just saying
