Reviews
The hotel is generally clean and comfortable with friendly staff and a convenient location right off the freeway. However, some guests have complained about noise from the freeway and a lack of nearby dining options.
- Convenient location right off the freeway
- Friendly staff
- Noise from the freeway
- Limited nearby dining options
- 2/5
This place was awful. There were not one but two HUGE roaches in our room. One at the entrance of the room and one in the shower. These weren’t regular roaches. They were on steroids. The floor was filthy and nothing about this place said clean or safe or comfortable. The only good thing is that it’s super close to the freeway.
- 4/5
Pool was really dirty. Lots of black dirt at the bottom with lots of big bugs dead on the water. Bird poop on the walk around the pool.
- 3/5
Generally a clean comfortable room and everything worked. There are no windows facing the freeway so it is reasonably quiet. My only disappointment were 3 bedbug bites that appeared 2 days after my stay. Apparently room 214 needs eradication. Ick!
- 3/5
Nothing special about this hotel (looks like truck stop motel). Conveniently located off the Hwy 5. Helpful staff.
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean and there was plenty of parking available.
- 2/5
Upon checking in, the older woman was very coarse asked me if I had a dog and I said yes she said is it a service dog? I said yes she said what service does it perform and I said Support and she said that doesn’t count you will have to pay a fee to have your dog stay I said OK. Then I was so disappointed in the Dog area. No one maintains it. It’s ugly. It has feces everywhere. It was very bad experience that I paid for.!
- 5/5
We stayed in a pet friendly room with two queen beds. The room was spacious and modern without carpet which was nice. It even had crown molding. The AC worked well without being too loud like some older hotels. The refrigerator was a nice size though the freezer didn’t really freeze our ice pack. Breakfast was okay. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Always a nice stay with friendly staff good little breakfast and right by fast food and gas stations
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
The room was very clean ,also enjoyed the pool .The breakfast was ok .definitely would recommend stopping at this location.
- 5/5
Night manager very friendly and helpful
- 2.5/5
Very clean room. Nice floor - no carpet! It's a necessary stop on the long, boring I-5. Depressed location; not a good place to go for a walk. lots of litter in area. Basically a truck, stop, but it's all you need to spend one night and hit the road in the morning. I felt safe. Trashy, littered area around hotel. No good for walking around to stretch your legs.
- 4/5
Close to highway, very clean and comfortable. Pet friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, the breakfast was delicious.
- 5/5
Nice room
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Clean, spacious, and quiet—good for a one-night stay during our trip around Bakersfield. The location is convenient, and check-in and check-out were easy. Breakfast was basic but fine. The only downside was the bed—it was a bit squeaky and made some noise when moving.

Breakfast okay Parking felt safe and secured Staff nice Location easy access to the freeway Properly looked clean and well cared.

Cosmetic
- 4.5/5
For long distance travel, this is clean comfort at a truck stop just off I5, but you don’t hear the traffic or trucks inside room. Food trucks, Ihop and subway, mini marts within walking distance. The truck traffic and dust outside room.
- 4/5
Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast is minimal; cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs
- 4/5
Big parking lot could a spot right in front of my room room was very clean love the jetted tub. The staff was super nice and friendly. Already recommended to a couple friends definitely will stay again when we’re back in the area.
- 4/5
Sure,to cold
- 4.5/5
Great spot for a quick night stay while driving on I-5
- 5/5
The breakfast wasn’t for us, nothing healthy or hearty. There is a fabulous Indian food truck next to the hotel
- 5/5
Everything was fine.
- 5/5
Yes
- 2/5
Traffic super loud, birds super loud, smallest breakfast area, floor around toilet gross, only 1 restaurant close which is not what is advertised.
- 5/5
Updated rooms, well lit parking lot, good breakfast
- 3/5
Great location, the staff was fine, beds creaked a lot
- 5/5
The check in was seamless. The room clean.
- 1/5
Room smelled of mold and cigarette and disinfectant. The heating/ac unit was extremely loud and when it turned on it shook the window above. It is very close to the freeway and you feel like the semi’s are driving on the ceiling. The protein in the complimentary breakfast was a hard boiled egg. We have stayed in a lot of best western hotels and this definitely was the worst
- 5/5
Room was spotless and supplied clean towels.
- 0.5/5
Close to the freeway Dirty the lady at the front desk was rude. Place smelled
- 5/5
Great clean room
- 4/5
I didn't have breakfast everything was fine
- 0.5/5
Nothing. The motel looked nothing like the booking pictures. There were several men sitting outside the rooms drinking and partying, People were wandering around who looked like they were more interested in renting a room for an hour than for a night. It didn't appear safe. I immediately requested a refund as we did not feel safe staying there. I would absolutely not recommend this motel to anyone. It brings a bad name to Best Western.
- 2.5/5
Convenient location for traveling Lack of concern with cloudy water that drinking made my dog sick. It seemed to be only in the first room they reserved for us Breakfast had minimal options
- 4/5
Front desk was great. HVAC didn’t work but they switched us to another room.
- 4/5
Clean and courteous
- 5/5
Clean and safe! Will stay again!
- 3.5/5
Easy access , clean . It was more of a motel than a hotel. Traffic noise was load. Also we were given a second floor room with a pet. We have an elderly dog and is was difficult getting her up and down the stairs
- 5/5
Close to my destination Nothing bad to say. Liked facility
- 3/5
Lacked sense hospitality but clean and comfortable enough
- 1.5/5
Located closest to where I was going. Building is just too close to the freeway. Constant noise. Room was too industrial feeling. Like a large hospital room. But bathroom too cramped.
- 2.5/5
Convenient location Furnishings have become more “spartan “ over the years. Metal box spring a little noisy. Single thin blanket and noisy heater with no bedspread or additional blanket. Adjacent IHOP food quality has decreased and prices increased.
- 4/5
must maintain spa temperature.
- 3/5
Location was great as it was by the highway so we could get started in the morning again. The pool was not private at all and felt like it was in the middle of the parking lot. Bathroom sink drained very slllllooooowly.
- 5/5
Nothing everything was perfect fresh towels in the room when I came back in the evening ready for the next morning it was all good
- 5/5
The location very close to the Kevin Hart racetrack in Bakersfield Nothing, everything was perfect exceptional service
- 2/5
Bad smell from agriculture. Horrible.
- 4/5
Thundering noise of trucks, too close to it fwy. Had to wear earplugs.
- 3/5
Room was in good condition, the bed was comfortable but the flies from the surrounding stockyards got into the room.
- 2.5/5
I did not like paying $188 for a floor level motor lodge. I travel for business every three weeks all over and have stayed in all types of hotels and I was charged $188 to stay in a substandard motor lodge 20 miles from town. I am now double thinking about staying at another Best Western. I will be letting my business partners and friends know about this stay for $188.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Easy access from freeways. Quiet, comfortable room and nice continental breakfast in the morning.
- 5/5
Yea
- 5/5
Perfect stay thank you
- 3/5
Convenient for travel needs Warm water in pipes. Sink did not drain. TV remote broken
- 4/5
Best of the local options i have found yet. Clean newer facilities.
- 5/5
We were on our way to Southern California and stopping here for a nights rest. The rooms were very clean. The staff was very friendly. It was a quiet and safe location just off the highway. Would definitely recommend for an overnight stay or even longer. They do include a breakfast. It’s a win-win for the traveler.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 2/5
The rooms are very clean but you can't draw the blackout curtains so we hadhad bright
- 5/5
The property is clean and well-kept. Because it is just off the freeway and across the street from a truck stop, I cannot say it is quiet. It is, however, very convenient for people traveling along the I-5 and there are plenty of food options within walking distance.
- 5/5
A blackout curtain would've been nice, but everything was great otherwise.
- 5/5
Easy to get to. Easy check in. Clean and comfortable stay.
- 3/5
This place was not worth 170 per night hotel, room were small. Breaskfast place only has 5-6 chairs.
- 3/5
Surrounding areas to the property is deserted and dark.
- 4/5
Good accommodations for our dog just outside our room.
- 4/5
Location convenient but small breakfast area
- 5/5
All
- 5/5
the area that the hotel is in was dirty but the hotel was great and located close to where my meeting at the race track took place.
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
I enjoyed my 1 night stay at Best Western. The room was exceptionally clean. It was warm outside but the air conditioner kept the room cool, although the A/C was a bit noisy, i got used to it after awhile. The motel is located by the freeway and i never heard cars drive by, even when the A/C shut off. The bed was nice and luxurious. Maybe too soft for me personally.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, nice breakfast.
- 5/5
Gas station and IHOP right next door are very convenient for anyone looking for an overnight stop along that part of I5.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, good price, and easy access near major highways. We only needed one night stay, but very comfortable room to get good rest. The front desk clerk (Izzy) that checked us in was very nice and got us taken care of quickly.
- 5/5
What a great place to stay. Very clean and quiet, great service at check in.
- 5/5
Very nice large room, very clean with everything you might need. Excellent customer service. Good breakfast.
- 2/5
Food was terrible.
- 4/5
This hotel was clean. If you have an RV this is a good place to stop and rest there is plenty of semi truck parking and the lanes are wide and it’s close to the 5 freeway access.
- 5/5
Good place
- 3/5
Would not stay there again.
- 5/5
Easy place to stop and rest along the 5. Tesla charger across the street. Rooms clean and and easy, efficient way to grab some zz’s.
- 4/5
I was a quick overnight stay but really good experience. The breakfast kitchen is quite small though.
- 4/5
a long way from Bakersfield, not convenient.
- 5/5
They were very nice. Had a nice continental breakfast. Would stay there again.
- 1/5
Is not good
- 4/5
Close to I5 and convenient. However, the room was smelling of cleaning agents used . The whole room. It’s okay for a night given it’s closeness to I5 and for a break. Breakfast is good , staff was very supportive.
- 4/5
Was a very conveniently located hotel. It is located right next to Tesla Supercharger. Hotel was very clean.
- 3/5
Not as expected for a Best Western.
- 4/5
Better than other hotels around the area. Clean with a decent breakfast. Walls are thin and the area is noisy, but it is what it is.
- 4/5
This was a great stop on our long road trip. The rooms look like they were refreshed recently, and the flooring was great for our dogs. The bathroom could use a similar update, but it was clean and serviceable.
- 4/5
Clean & convenient
- 5/5
Great stay for the night. Comfortable bed and showers. We've already booked for anpther stay and look forward to staying there again.
- 3/5
The place was nice other than a weird smell first getting into the room, very clean and quiet. Very covenant for where I needed to travel to, short distance to and from Kevin Harvick’s kern raceway
- 4/5
Nice.
- 5/5
Lovely, big room with comfortable bed. Good relatively quick a/c. Nice that lobby provides fresh fruit. Coffee in the room using pods was good.
- 4/5
Great
- 1/5
The room had overwhelming stinky odors which seems caused by cheap cleaning solution and over powering air freshener combined. The front desk helper took us to another room to check but it was not much better. Left window open but since it's next freeways the noise is deafening. To their credit, she offered ear plugs. To make it even worse, in the morning' stink was far worse. We had to use a scarf to hold our nose when loading the car and the stinks in the car lingered long after we left the property. It's not the hotel's fault for having the foul odor causing live stock operations near by but just beware the stench is unbearable.
- 5/5
No frills. Simple, clean stay while driving along the 5.
- 5/5
Perfect location right off of Interstate 5. Friendly Staff, clean hotel and room. Easy walking to food. While breakfast wasn't fancy - it covered the basic needs.
- 5/5
I stayed here with my dog. We we driving to LA and this was a great place to stop a little over halfway from San Francisco. Clean, safe, and easy check-in.
- 5/5
Great bang for the buck, did not have time for breakfast, but it looked like it's the typical continental breakfast, staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Everything about our stay was excellent. We would stay there often if we could visit that part of the country more often. Thank you Best Western!
- 5/5
Excellent place to rest, right off the freeway. Clean and comfortable!
- 5/5
Clean well lit place to stay for a night. Room looked recently updated. Swimming pool to cool off. A few restaurants within walking distance.
- 5/5
Clean room spacious good bk
- 5/5
Fairly new property and everything was in great condition and clean. Previous night at another B.W. location was in badly need of repair and maintenance. This was a great room and reasonably priced. The other B.W. had a great breakfast and great staff just need much repair and update. This location had a great property and a minimal breakfast.
- 2/5
Room was very dusty and pillows were dirty… Poor
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
Exactly what I needed- quiet, clean and great AC. Efficient check in and out.
- 5/5
Rooms in great shape, nice n clean, lots of hot water for shower. Coffeemaker in room (keurig).beds seemed comfy. AC struggled but kept room at a good temp. Tv had no signal. Pool area needed some hosing down (bird droppings on edge of pool, leaves in pool.
- 4/5
It was fine. Lady at the desk was not exactly friendly or welcoming, but was fine for the night.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and they put us right next to their dog park, which was so helpful.
- 4/5
Very nice room right on the freeway so just a little noisy but not enough to bother us
- 3/5
The area is sketchy. It's basically a semi truck stop with some eateries that attract a lot of ceedy characters.
- 2/5
First time road trip and booking multiple rooms , we were separated by floors and different ends of the hotel. Should be simple, we book two rooms under one name logic says put them together
- 5/5
The convenience of this hotel is what makes it great. Right off of I-5 so you don’t have to go further into Bakersfield. The staff was friendly, and the pet area was great! We mentioned we had a pet, and they secured us a room right by the pet area, so we didn’t have to go too far. It’s a little older, but the room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint would be how loud some of the passing trucks on I-5 are, but that is out of their control.
- 5/5
Typical side of the highway hotel. Easy and satisfactory stay. Cute breakfast setup.
- 5/5
very clean, feel safe
- 4/5
All was well, good variety for breakfast.
- 5/5
Breakfast was better than expected. Room and property were very clean. Freeway noise is the only drawback.
- 5/5
It was a well-kept property, very friendly, staff, and a very convenient location.
- 5/5
Fine place but only nearby dining options are Subway, IHOP, and Jack in the Box.
- 5/5
Nice big room and really clean!
- 5/5
Behind our room you can hear a lot of cars going by and a lot of loud talking when checking out I was informed that there is a freeway behind rooms and supposedly a walkway of dirt so that is where all the loud talking came from but the room was clean and beds comfortable
- 5/5
This hotel is very nice for a two-star hotel. The relatively upscale interior looks recently upgraded. Spotlessly clean. None of the rooms face the freeway but you can hear/feel semi's rumbling by though closing the bathroom door and running the constant-on fan covers up most of it. I stayed on the first floor. Tradespeople are up very early and like to warm up their trucks before they leave so the second floor might be quieter in the morning. Continental breakfast is pretty good but doesn't include hot food. Staff were super nice.
- 5/5
Brittany at the front desk for late night check in is amazing!
- 3/5
Rather tired property, bath was not fully cleaned upon our arrival (towels on floor - looked like the clean was started but not finished). No elevator for elderly folks.
- 3/5
Smelly room, everything else was just ok.
- 5/5
Basically a truck stop, hotel, a couple restaurants, gas stations. Gas here was $1/gal cheaper than further south.
- 5/5
This place was clean and quiet. Extra points for being right by the Tesla superchargers.
- 4/5
Clean, near the freeway, appliances work
- 4/5
Other than many bugs in the room it was good stay.
- 5/5
Pet area smelled quite a bit, but overall it was a good experience. Was able to get much needed rest after a very long trip.
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful check in. Easy on and off the freeway. Designated dog area with green grass and our room had vinyl flooring. Would stay again.
- 4/5
This property is clean, with comfortable beds, and good water pressure in the shower. Although there is no restaurant, a more than adequate continental breakfast is served in the lobby area. Located close to the 5 freeway, gas station and a convenience store, the hotel suits us fine and is our choice for a one or two night stay each racing season at Buttonwillow Raceway.
- 3/5
The Location smelled of fish. Maybe from the many big rigs parked out front. Also, the many big rigs blocked the view of the street name, causing us to miss the turn onto your road. Very congested with big rigs.
- 5/5
We completely enjoyed our stay. Nice rooms. Friendly employees. Lady at front desk most helpful. I can't do stairs and she graciously made down stairs accommodations for us.
- 4/5
We had a very pleasant and quiet night, the bed was very hard, for my liking. Other than that place was very nice, clean. I needed an extra blanket and they seemed to be there with an extra blanket before I hung up the phone. Breakfast area very simple luckily there was an IHOP next door that made it nice.
- 5/5
We were in a hurry to leave town to beat the upcoming storm from the hurricane. This was a reasonably priced motel with a perfect off-the- freeway location after coming over the grapevine. Checkin was easy and the room was clean (with the exception of the floor which felt like it needed a good mopping). Nice big parking lot with plenty of eating options. I didn’t try the free breakfast, but my husband said it was modest. We were thankful to get a decent room in a good location as we began our journey to Oregon. Would stay here again.
- 3/5
The bed was decent and it was better than sleeping in the car. For the price I was hoping for a little more. The staff was at least indifferent.
- 5/5
The room was very nice!! Very spacious, very clean(except for the floors), comfortable bed, good water pressure for shower, good sink space, and heater & AC work great!! Would definitely recommend staying here for any length of time.
- 4/5
This is our ‘go to’ hotel when we visit the Buttonwillow Racetrack. It is 15 miles from track, but at a freeway exit, across from gas station, fast food & convenience store. The property is clean, staff are friendly and very helpful. The bed comfortable, good water pressure and continental breakfast is included. Thanks for another comfortable stay.
- 2/5
The room floor was very dirty. I walk barefoot in the house, I did the same there. When I got into the shower I could see blackish water from under my feet. Having experienced that, I decided to wipe my feet with a wet towel before I got into bed.
- 4/5
Property is well located for freeway access and nearby a range of nature attractions.
- 4/5
My room could have been cleaner, especially around the baseboards and doors, but overall I was pretty happy with my stay. It was very quiet, which surprised me considering it’s right beside the busy interstate. Pool area and fountain in the front drive were very nice, and the front desk agents were very kind and welcoming.
- 5/5
Surprisingly nice rooms.
- 4/5
Just right after the exit from I-5 highway. Gas station and fast food is very helpful. Recommend for short stay like 11pm to 7am.
- 3/5
The mattress was especially uncomfortable. The bathroom had not been sufficiently cleaned as there was hair and other debris on the floor around the tub and toilet. It is conveniently located right off I-5 but there is no sound proofing so the highway noise is constant and disruptive
- 3/5
Room was ok but it’s right off the freeway so very noisy.
- 4/5
Clean
- 5/5
Very friendly service
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room.
- 4/5
This hotel was far better than we thought it would be! Rooms were clean and updated. TV channel choices great! Loved the soaking tub! The only thing that would have made it better was to have a more comfortable mattress. Definitely easy on, easy off the highway while traveling!
- 5/5
Great, just a stop over for my vacation
