Clean room , Staff is nice

Location excellent. Our room was put next to construction area and had high pitched construction sounds from 8am. Little sleep to be had. Also shower no hot water for 5 min at beginning.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms. Staff friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Unfortunately, their front desk help was not so "helpful." I left a message on their voicemail every day for 3 days in advance of my visit, as I had a question. No one ever called me back, and I had to drive all the way to the property - early on the day of my stay in order to get the question answered. The girl at the desk Gabby, was very rude.
- 4/5
Nice place, clean, quiet and certainly beats the heck out of staying in Vail which costs twice the price (or more). Good breakfast, comfy beds, and the town has lots to offer… shops, restaurants, etc. Don’t hesitate, enjoy!

Excellent stay

All around great

We had a room overlooking the river. Very relaxing. The room was nicer than the pictures. How often does that happen? Breakfast was very poor. Hardly worth the effort.

Stayed for 2 nights there, the room was very clean and maids even took the time to fold the towels nicely and made it feel welcoming. The breakfast was good and there was a 3 hour window for breakfast which was nice. Staff is friendly and overall the place was really nice. Thank you for our stay!
- 5/5
We really appreciate them after being in the area for a medical procedure Thank you

Older property. Good value for the location (Aspen vicinity). Love overlooking the river!
- 4.5/5
It's a nice little town. The hotel room was clean and nice. I enjoyed the river nearby and proximity to the ski resorts! I didn't like the construction waking me up at 7:00 a.m. or the new hotel that's going up next door.

Easy check in, close to downtown basalt area with lots of good restaurants that are cheaper than Aspen. Good spot to stay for a night to ski Aspen. About 20 minutes to Snowmass and 30 to Belly Up.
- 3/5
No AC
- 5/5
Walk to downtown, close to Aspen and wonderful view, affordable prices and breakfast included.
- 5/5
Terrific location, clean and comfortable rooms, a bargain for the area, safe and quiet at night. Comfy beds, nice quality sheets, and a good variety for breakfast included. We had a room overlooking river in building A, try to book there if you can! Looking forward to returning, the town of Historic Basalt is great.
- 4/5
room was clean quiet and comfortable.
- 5/5
Convenient location about 15 minutes from Brush Creek parking lot, the only free lot for all 4 ski areas with free shuttles to each and town. Lovely little town, and lovely location on river. Great peaceful spot right outside your front door! Breakfast is standard cereals/bakery items/hard boiled eggs etc. Rooms are older but very tastefully redone and decorated. Beds/bedding very comfy. Housekeeping daily kept it very clean. Staff all lovely and very helpful. Would definately stay here again. Best bang for your buck in the area.
- 1/5
Everything else was clean, beds were somewhat comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful as well.

Staff was great!

Staff was great!

There is major construction going on basicly in the hotel's parking lot. So there is a lot of noise and dust. The property was comfortable just outdated. There are not hot tubs/pools, outdoor grills, etc.
- 5/5
Great deal for Aspen area! Beautiful surroundings and comfy beds
- 4/5
Spotless, well appointed and beautiful view of the river.

- 5/5
Great price, cozy room with comfy beds, good restaurants in the town, walking distance to the local bus that runs every 30 minutes to all Aspen mountains for just $3.00. Perfect motel if you are trying to avoid the crazy prices of Aspen & Snowmass.
- 1/5
The room was not bad but there was a continuous loud tapping sound coming from inside the walls and ceiling which was so loud it would not allow me to sleep. I kindly mentioned the situation to the front desk associate as well as showed her videos of what happend and she could not have possibly cared less and had nothing to say except her manager is in miami and she would call me. I wish i could post videos in this review so you could see how bad it actually was. I absolutely do not recommend this place unless you would like to stay up all night from loud tapping sounds.

Location and room amenities. Noisy Refrigerator
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
Our check in was great and staff was very friendly. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Lots of construction on site so the mornings were loud but I'd stay again.
- 4/5
The location is perfect for going “up or down valley”
- 5/5
always a clean, comfortable stay. thank you.
- 3.5/5
Rooms were really clean, beds were comfortable, front desk agent was really friendly and informative.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 3/5
The room was just OK . Way overpriced though.
- 3/5
Pleasant
- 5/5
The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, solving any issues quickly and easily. We didn’t travel with pets, so we didn’t need to worry about any pet fees, which was a plus for us. We would definitely stay here again when we visit Snowmass.
- 4.5/5
The tub doesn’t drain well and it was disgusting taking a shower.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
We could go right outside our room and be on the Frying Pan River. The roar of the river met us each time we opened our room door, but didn't notice it when the door was closed. We were here many decades ago and it is still a great place to visit. We ate at the Tipsy Trout just next door and it was very good. We also recommend Heather's Savory Pies. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast. The room was good - no weird smells and the price was ok for the area (near Aspen, where prices are much higher). Beautiful area - especially liked seeing the aspen trees turn yellow!
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room with a beautiful view of the river!! 😃
- 5/5
Clean room - reasonable price.
- 4/5
Room was clean and had everything we needed, bathroom was clean and updated, sheets nice and crisp. My only complaint would be the carpet while in good condition looks old and you gotta wonder how clean it is
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable, easy access to Aspen. I will use again in future trips.
- 5/5
Just a good experience, the most pleasant was to hear the river with the window open and ability to sit next to it in peace
- 2/5
I was put in unit 118 of building B. This happens to be right next to a major construction project. It was super loud early in the morning and late into the evening. Couldn't have been a worse room location. Also, the construction crew were using parking spots and put two of their trucks right in front of my room, smoking cigs and talking loudly. There are two other buildings, so I'd highly recommend you request those. These rooms should be heavily discounted or not used at all. The room was $185 for one very uncomfortable night.
- 4/5
Area is great just very old property
- 3/5
The hotel is in a great location, but is pricy and in desperate need of a refurbishment. We had air out the room due to the strong odor of the deodorant/cleaner. The breakfast offerings were excellent.
- 5/5
Walkable to everything in downtown Basalt! Great location right on the river
- 5/5
Repeat customers here. Improved accommodations. Lovely riverside room. Quiet. Great bed. Easy checkin and check out. When i paid for room, they forgot to return my ID. And then called me to let me know. What a blessing that was too! Super nice receptionist: Denise!
- 3/5
Overall the property is good, but the sights and sounds of the construction zone do take away from the experience.
- 5/5
A lovely, sparkling clean, beautifully furnished hotel. Wonderful!!!!!
- 5/5
Breakfast was on the light size, otherwise good location and accommodations.
- 3/5
Spider nest and multiple spiders in the corner of the heater in the bathroom, they had been there a while. Lots of construction adjacent to the property. Obviously not their fault but better signage for the rear entrance would have been nice instead of having to drive through the construction zone. Beds were comfy and the shower was nice.
- 3/5
The woman who checked us in was great. Friendly, helpful, etc. The maids were friendly and accomodating. The woman working the desk after was an absolute horror. Rude, angry - i greeted her with a good morning in the parking lot and she just scowled at me.
- 5/5
The views were amazing. The staff were great
- 4/5
The lodge and the area of Basalt are very nice. I was only there for 1 quick night (up early) but it had all that I had wanted and is in a great area. A little unsure about parking and where the lobby was when I first arrived but no big deal once you look around. Was very happy w/ my limited stay and was wishing I had booked more than the 1 night.
- 4/5
Great location but room is a little tired. No AC. No plug for sink. Pillows, mattress and desk chair could be upgraded.
- 4/5
However construction next to the room made it very noisy
- 4/5
We planned on camping but the weather wasn’t great with kids so we last minute booked here and it was such a cool place!
- 5/5
The most unique about this propety is it's location on the river. The rooms are facing the river, you fall asleep to the sound of rushing waters.
- 5/5
The river was absolutely excellent.
- 5/5
Construction was going on around the property
- 5/5
We upgraded from a street side room to a river side room, and we were sure glad we did! Beautiful!
- 5/5
enjoyed a nice river view room. very comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Great facility .. Great experience!
- 5/5
It was a lovely hotel, and our room was terrific. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Our room overlooked the river and we loved sitting on the deck, enjoying the view and sound of the water. The location was great - everything we needed was within walking distance. We also highly recommend The Tipsy Trout for lunch or dinner, and it's right next door!
- 5/5
and the area is walkable. Very clean room and comfortable bed.
- 5/5
We had a great stay at the ASPENALT! The room is a bit dated but exceptionally clean and a fantastic location, walking distance to everything in town. Complimentary breakfast was a bonus. Would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
It was fine, except that they really need a visible sign to locate the office. I wasn't the only one walking around searching for it. Also, there was a ceiling fan in the room that did not work. There was a remote for it (unlabeled), but it didn't function. It would have been nice on a warm night. Third thing, the (incorrect) clock on the microwave had a bright blue light that I had to cover up.
- 5/5
I would highly recommend this nice, quiet and beautiful river side lodge. We had a good time as a family wi
- 5/5
If you dont need AC, and a ceiling fan will do, you can be right on the Frying Pan River! You can sit at table & chairs outside your room and enjoy your coffee, or go right down to the river and sit on benches or go wading! Other buildings in the complex do have AC. There's also a riverside restaurant next door, a bus stop for a nice bus to either Aspen or Glenwood, and a walkable old town Basalt. Loved it here!
- 5/5
We love staying here. It's so beautiful and so scenic and the river is just beautiful to sleep right by
- 3/5
When looking at pictures of property, looked charming next to river and quiet. Reality is there are 3 buildings that make up property and we were in the one building located in the strip mall parking next to construction site, as of June 2025. We were disappointed not to be next to river. Bed was old, creaky and uncomfortable.
- 5/5
The location was perfect - out of the hustle and bustle of Glenwood Springs but close enough for the activities that we had planned. Room cleaned daily and parking was originally a concern since right next to the restaurants & shops but ended up being a non-concern. Nice healthy continental breakfast as well.
- 5/5
Very clean and nice to be by River. Excellent stay!
- 4/5
Hotel is in a great area, rooms were clean and well kept.
- 4/5
Overall was OK value in a beautiful town.
- 2/5
Ok ok motel. Not worth the pricing.
- 5/5
A great affordable option in the valley. Walk to great local restaurants and bars or down to the river.
- 5/5
Helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms.
- 5/5
What i love most about this property is the proximity to the river -- it was so relaxing to walk from the room to the riverside and sit in tranquility. I loved it so much that i extended my stay -- just for the ZEN
- 5/5
Room was spacious. Older property, but updated nicely. Comfortable bed and the staff were friendly.
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay. Loved the river and breakfast!
- 5/5
The river view rooms are the best. Walk from your room to the rushing river in 20ft. Tables and chairs available to sit outside your room or picnic tables in the grass near the river. Get a nice bottle of wine and relax, or walk less the a block to the restaurants down town. Stay for a few nights is the best.
- 5/5
The Aspenalt was so down home comfy, we fell in love. It’s an older property but it’s been upgraded inside, beds were great. The best thing is that it sits right on the river, has benches to sit on, and it’s very quiet. It is next door to The Tipsy Trout, a great restaurant, and a stones throw away from the center of town which is home to restaurants, music and shops. I will always stay here from now on. So different from the glitz of Aspen.
- 5/5
Everyone was very professional and the stay pleasant.
- 5/5
only downside was nearby construction
- 5/5
Cute, comfortable, peaceful place to stay not too far from Aspen. The rooms were spacious and well through out and we had a lovely view of the river with benches and a nice grassy area to enjoy the views. Great value, definitely recommend!
- 5/5
While the room seemed a little dated, it was very clean. The grounds were immaculate and the breakfast was very good. Well worth the price
- 5/5
The location was great and the room was cozy & clean. Very happy with our stay!
- 5/5
Very clean room. Very nice bed. Not fancy but an excellent value
- 4/5
The staff was very helpful and kind and the lodge is located in walking distance to public transit with dining options closeby. Our room was dated but super clean. Mattress could really use an update. There were other guests that came to their rooms late night and were inconsiderate but that’s not the fault of the lodge. Breakfast was ok, coffee was much appreciated.
- 5/5
Decent breakfast included
- 5/5
It was lovely, professional and quiet, just how i like it.
- 5/5
Great location, clean room, great breakfast and friendly staff. 10/10 would stay again
- 5/5
I loved my stay. Breakfast was a bonus. Very convenient and walkable. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
Close to the bus to get to ski reports.
- 5/5
The price is relatively affordable compared to other hotels in the area.
- 3/5
The heat didn't work my entire 3-day stay. Also two cockroaches crawled out from under the toilet seat.
- 5/5
Best value accomodation in the Roaring Fork Valley. Easy driving to all local ski resorts and numerous good value dining options within walking distance.
- 2/5
Due to a flight interruption, the manager was unaccommodating and ended up yelling at me. Facilities are nice. Staff was nice. The manager was extremely rude.
- 5/5
Much better than the 2 star rating. Clean, comfortable, backed up to a nice quiet river.
- 4/5
Nice and easy to get to rooms
- 5/5
Quick and easy to check in and very clean
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Although a little cheaper than other properties in the area I was surprised to find all the amenities in the room including microwave and refrigerator. A counter in the bathroom was nice also. The indoor staircase was another plus in the winter.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 5/5
Great value and breakfast included was a real bonus
- 5/5
Great value for money in a region where that is hard to find.
- 5/5
Consistently a good place.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, great price and location. No lights so, getting to our second floor room with luggage was difficult after dark. Seriously couldn’t see.
- 4/5
Beautiful location
- 5/5
Our room looked right out on the river. It was a great location.
- 3/5
Just old and could use some updates. Suited our needs for the night
- 4/5
Nothing fancy. Really nice and clean. Good coffee with the in room coffee maker.
- 5/5
Excellent location and staff. Love the room by the river.
- 5/5
convenient
- 4/5
Well kept property with attention to comfort and cleanliness. The receptionist was kind and helpful. The only issue I had was that the cleaning agents used put off a long lasting smell that was difficult to get out of the room. If you are sensitive to smells this can be an issue.
- 2/5
poor maintenance, impossible beds, poor breakfast
- 5/5
Great river frontage property w seats to sit/read.
- 5/5
The sound of the river running outside my room was a treat. The room was lovely & the host was extremely helpful with information about what to do, where to eat, and more. I hope to return.
- 4/5
Room was nicely refurbished. Very good breakfast, beautiful location near river.
- 4/5
The Riverview rooms were nice. Appreciated the table and chairs outside of the room. Rooms were quiet, included all needed amenities. The hotel is convenient to other eateries by walking distance. Room was not air conditioned but fans provided were efficient.
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 5/5
We rented 3 rooms for our group of 11 girls. We all loved our stay. We were surprised there was no AC, but we didn't need it. The area was quiet and the combination of the cool breeze through the open window and the sound of the river running in the distance was the perfect accompaniment to a good night's sleep. The front clerk was very accommodating and provided great suggestions for our quick stay. We loved the town we were in and lodging was the icing on the cake!
- 3/5
It was a good place but not great. For the price, I expected much better.
- 5/5
River is just 5steps away from stay and the sound of river is like lullaby. Loved this place
- 3/5
it is just an average property
- 5/5
When we arrived, I was a bit dismayed by the exterior of the hotel. It was deceiving - the room was beautiful with a view to the river right behind us. The rooms were clean, the breakfast very good, and the hotel right in town so we could walk to restaurants and shop. I would definitely recommend this property.
- 5/5
I loved how convenient the property was to downtown. The apartment was the perfect stay for 3 people.
- 5/5
Basalt is a gorgeous little town 20 minutes from Aspen. The hotel isn’t too inviting from the outside but the rooms are updated and super comfortable! Friendly check in and just being right in the town and on the river makes for a lovely stay
- 5/5
Centrally located among shops and restaurants
- 5/5
Friendly Front Desk Staff!
- 5/5
I love waking up to the sound of the river, walking out of my room to be able to sit next to the river. The rooms are very comfortable, walkable to many wonderful restaurants and local beauty and hikes. Perfect for me and my family.
- 5/5
Kind staff, comfortable beds, convenient location, and affordable for one night.
- 4/5
Great location. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Very basic hotel room for the price. Carpet needs cleaning. Breakfast was included and was plentiful.
- 5/5
The Aspenalt Lodge is an appealing, budget-friendly option on the river right in historic downtown Basalt and an easy drive to the ski areas. Front desk was friendly, our room was clean and comfortable; breakfast was decent, with some higher-quality options like better bread, coffee, and really good apple juice. The only downside was the strong cleaning agent odor in our room when we arrived. Kind of a sweet chemical smell. Not very good air circulation, so we had to open our window and door wide for 15 minutes to get the smell to abate. Would recommend a more natural cleaning agent without such a toxic artificial odor.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean, easy to get to, walking distance to restaurants-we’d come again!
- 5/5
Simple low-key property that worked well for a budget-friendly stay close to Aspen. Located a minute walk from the bus route which was really convenient. Liked how quiet the room was. Free breakfast was a bonus.
- 3/5
Breakfast was terrible, toast or frozen burrito. Room was below average for the price. The warning about $100 reset fee if you change settings on the tv were enough to put me off from even using it.
