Element by Marriott Basalt - Aspen

Bigger room with a nice view and very comfortable beds/sofa. There was a small kitchen in the room and a full size fridge, standing shower in the bathroom which itself was quite big, also new furniture. Breakfast had quite a things to pick from and hotel staff was very helpful. This hotel is in a town center close to highway 82. We enjoyed our stay.

The issues we had were as follows: No down pillows, mattress was too firm, toilet seat was loose. Safety issues: Back door from parking lot to stairwell was unlocked all the time, so anyone could walk into the hallway where rooms were, without going through the lobby, without a key! Major issue! use told front desk, twice. Also there was a man who pulled up in his pick up truck and walked in to eat breakfast, he was clearly not a guest and was just a local who was just stopping in for a free breakfast. His truck was parked outside the front door( not in a parking spot) while he ate and no one asked him if he was a guest. Then he got back in his truck and left. I said something to the staff but they did not seem to care. Overall, the room was decent and we had a nice stay but security is lacking!

Like most motel or hotels they are next to busy highways, and if you get a room facing the highway you get noise. Lucky for us the air conditioning drowned out the traffic noise.

Nice hotel in Willits Town Center, with numerous restaurants, a brew pub, coffee shops and shopping with 2 - 3 blocks. Breakfast is about average. If you want to stay in the upper valley but don't want to dish out the cash required for Aspen, this is your place.

The staff was friendly. Road noise bothered me throughout the night as I was facing the highway.

Very clean and modern design, great mountain view, affordable price, free parking, pet friendly. Breakfast is minimal with bagel and coffee and couple fruits and greek yogurt.

This place was great. Clean, friendly and delicious breakfast. My room heater didn’t work and they instantly brought me a space heater and came the next morning and fixed the regular heater.

The room was Spotless and had a good view. The hot tub was full of bubbles and the staff was friendly and nice. The breakfast menu was filling and set me up for a great day. The in room toaster came in handy for a freshly toasted bagel for my lunch of leftovers from the Brass Anvil. Thanks much for my one night stay.

I stay in hotels frequently and this is by far the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. The breakfast buffet was also incredibly clean and well stocked and managed. Handicapped parking for my mother was right at the side door which was conveniently located and there were plenty of luggage carts in New condition. The shower head was very ample with the water- I'd like one for my house. And the complimentary in room kitchenette was phenomenal. And the staff was quick, courteous, and helpful with everything. Best hotel stay ever. Everything was excellent. There was nothing to complain about or even to find room for improvement. A+ lodging.

Very good but did miss a requested cleaning. Apparently some issue with the door I wasn't really following but overall a great stay/nice hotel.

It’s noting fancy, marginally clean and they charge $$$ because it is close proximity to Aspen. The breakfast buffet is gross plastic food. Desk staff wanted to be elsewhere. Room was surface clean but hair in sink and shower was dirty.

Easy and nice and clean. It is a lower end chain when you go in the bathroom and the floor buckles a little in the shower pan and the pipes are not secure to the wall. Very clean and great staff.

Hotel is clean and comfortable. The reception staff were cold, not rude but not welcoming, talkative or informative. Overpriced. The heat/air unit is very loud blowing directly on the bed and the settings didn’t work so it just ran until we turned it off. Open the window but had to close due to noise. Very nice to have the kitchenette. The fitness room is well situated and a very nice outdoor space.

The hotel was excellent. Our stay was less than excellent as we spent time and angst re: double booking charges. We had trouble getting confirmation re booking. As we tried to get confirmation, we became double booked. We spent hours that night trying to clear that up. Expedia, hotels.com, and the hotel said the problem had to be handled by someone else? We finally cancelled one booking and were left in limbo as to charges. I will find out tomorrow about charge???

The gentleman who checked us in on 8/24 was Ahhhhmazing. He was the morning shift. Gave us an early check in and upgrade. He was friendly and professional. I truly wish I got his name. He deserves a raise and promotion! The whole experience from door to door was wonderful.

Friendly staff, was able to check in early, free breakfast, free coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24 hours and their coffee was great. Clean rooms and a comfortable bed. Great views.

I was caught in wild fire and this hotel accommodated me. The front desk was kind and very compassionate. They made sure to really make my stay wonderful! The restaurant was really good and it was nice to sit out by the lake!

Nice and newer hotel. Great location and practical bus connection to Aspen. Fun happy hour with cheese and wine. It was disappointing though that rooms weren't cleaned and made proper during the stay. Shouldn't be the case in a brand name hotel. That compares more to a youth hostel experience.

Rooms are clean and nice, our 2 kids wanted to stay for few a more days. Pooland hot tubs are a plus.

Everything was great except for one issue. We could hear the guy next door talking like he was in our room!

We loved the hotel and the fact it was dog friendly. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of choices. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions. We would definitely stay at the Element in Basalt again.

The Element was such a nice hotel. It was very dog friendly, which is why we picked this particular hotel. Basalt has good public transportation options; we were able to do a see a lot without having to drive!

We loved the sink and fridge and microwave. The hot tub was very nice. The hot water was not as warm as I would have wanted. Great location!

It was going on 3 in the morning, middle of nowhere mountains and I was turned away from the hotel even though I had reserved and paid for my room. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! it's a miracle I survived the night ...in my car. Imagine if I didn't have a car! I did not feel safe and had zero help or support from the front desk attendant. Also, I never got reimbursed for the roughly $300 I spent on a room that the attendant refused to give me. Will never go here again. To be clear: everything. Gym was clean with nice equipment. Breakfast was great. The increased was worth it for these two things alone.

Liked the room, with bedroom, bathroom and small living room area with a kitchenette. Made it very comfortable and functional. Lobby area is nice and breakfast is good. They also had a "wine happy hour" while I was there. My room was located across from elevators and faced onto the highway so it was a bit noisy. Next time I would request a room on the other wing away from the highway.

Everything was very clean. I will say I was more than happy with the room I got. The room had a stove, big refrigerator and the best part...a big bathroom with a spacious shower. The employees were very friendly and helpful. There were a lot of dinner options within walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel. Even if its just for one night.

They were professional.

first room we were assigned had a cracked sink and bathroom mirror, also it was on the top floor right under a heating and cooling unit. Very noisy. we took pictures of the sink and mirror and showed to front desk clerk. she apologized and offered another room. this room was on the first floor, when we tried to enter the room we discovered the door lock would in fact not lock. back to the front desk clerk, she apologized and said that was an easy fix and immediately called maintenance. she said it wouldn't take long so went for a walk came back in about 1 hr and the door lock was operating correctly. The bed was harder than we like but we weren't going back to complain about it. this hotel was very convenient for the weekend we had planned and the breakfast was good although because of a soccer team tournament in town seating was in short supply. Would probably stay again but would also do some price shopping.

Room was in rough shape. Cracked sink, mirror edges broken off. Toilet had issues. Not worth the $300 per night this time around.

So the hotel was nice, staff is friendly. We were traveling for our kids ski competition. Be aware that if your room is on the side of the hot tub it may get very loud. It felt like a party going on down there. Our kids needed to go to bed early and they could not get to sleep. I did mention it to the front desk and they went out to talk to them. It got quiet for like 5 minutes and then the music was back on.

Rooms are newly finished and clean. Front desk staff are all very friendly, helpful, and professional.

element is a very nice hotel. The rooms are not large, but they are super clean with good amenities (fridge, etc.). Very convenient to have the grocery store nearby.

My wife and I booked a room and soon realized it had down pillows which my wife is deathly allergic to. We contacted the front desk staff immediately to see if they had alternatives and we were told they did. The front desk attendant said she would deliver them to the room while we were at dinner. When we arrived back at the room there was one small synthetic pillow for my wife and I to share and a note saying sorry, that is all I could find. The down pillows were still lying on the bed so I removed the pillows and placed them in the hallway so my wife could breathe in the room. The fact that hotels still use down with all the memory foam superior sustainable options blows my mind and the lack of staff training on how to deal with allergy conditions in incredible. For such and expensive place you would expect more. They also ran out of breakfast before my wife and I could eat the next morning. Not sure I would stay there again.

Very clean. I found the layout confusing and some what sterile. Very Dog friendly. Great Breakfast. Confusion re paying. Website said pay at hotel. Hotel said booking from outside company. Appeared to be a lot more expensive booking through Hotels .com Seems to now be a marriot Bonvoy rather than Weston Element.

The breakfast they offer is not very varied for the price of the stay, I was expecting something more varied.

They gave us a room in the lower floor that the noise coming from above was unbearable, they quickly changed us to a lower floor and problem solved.

Unless you want to be directly in Aspen or Snowmass, then Basalt is a great option. It is still expensive, but for what you get, it’s a great deal, compared to the hotels in those other areas. Element was very nice and comfortable. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and hotel is conveniently located near restaurants.

Only one elevator working entire stay. Ling lines at elevator. Subpar breakfast. Towels felt like sandpaper. Not a big deal, but for 500$ a night…

We had two queen beds on the 3rd floor. Liked the size of the room/bathrooms. But we had a constant stomping noise from above till close to midnight and early in the morning - most likely due to the kitchenette area is tiled and occupants above us were wearing shoes. Complained to the front desk the 1st night but never got better. There was also a constant significant highway noise. For spending close to $550/night, I expected better insulated rooms and a lot better continental breakfast.

Location is in a nice mixed use development with shops and restaurants. Cooked breakfast was good and the breakfast staff very pleasant and accommodating. We had an issue with our reservation and the GM was helpful.

I did not like having to pay for parking when we parked ourselves

It was noisy from the road noise outside to hearing people in the room next door and hallway noise. Service was ok, but i wouldnt say friendly and welcoming. We asked how to get to the river to go for a walk, and the front desk clerk pointed to a map and said she thought it was pretty close. It was a nice location and Willets is cute.

However, if you don’t like the sound of a highway, this might not be for you. Request a room away from the highway if your a light sleeper like we are.
