The staff managing the property were very kind , respectful and attentive to our needs . Big thanks to AJ . Place seems to be rundown a bit .

The whole place needed some sprucing up. There was no booklet to tell us about breakfast or any other nearby attractions. Very nice young guy at the desk. Beds very comfortable.

AJ at the front desk was very nice and took care of our concerns. We noticed there was no lock on the bathroom window. AJ put a clip on the window as a temporary fix. While we were watching TV the door handle protector (see pic) for the entry door on the wall fell revealing a hole from prior damage. The toilet wouldn’t flush right so AJ had to plunge it. The main window in our room had a pull down shade only so either anyone could see into your room or it was completely dark in your room. There should have been some kind of sheer to allow light and privacy. The bed was very comfortable and we did get a good night’s sleep. Upon leaving around 8:30 a.m. we went to the office to turn in our key and have some light breakfast but the office was locked. We rang the doorbell but there was no answer. So we had to go back to our room to leave the key on the dresser. Would be go back there? No.

Very good
- 4/5
The rooms were clean, the staff were kind and accommodating. The pool on site was dirty and not well maintained (only criticism). Overall great place for the price.
- 2/5
We didn't receive room service, bathroom smelled like mold and it was visible on door, bed smelled like cigarette smoke, other than that the man was very friendly and gave us extra towels, location is close to roaring camp train.
- 4/5
If you are like me and just looking for a clean, well maintained place to sleep, this place fits the bill. The staff are exceedingly nice and helpful. The room I stayed in had been recently repainted and recarpeteed and the furniture and TV were all fairly new. It is an older building but they have done work to upgrade it. It was clean, vwhixh is my number one criteria. There were minor flaws (a patched area of wall in the bathroom) but it was very serviceable and comfortable. It is within walking distance from a good coffee shop and a local market. Very decent lodgings and lovely customer service.
- 5/5
Nice stay
- 2/5
The facility was definitely an older property that needed severe upgrades. The toilet in the bathroom was clogged when I got there, and I had to unclog it with a plunger. There was a lot of rusty caulk around the shower and the toilet and unpainted patches on the wall. The furniture that held the microwave and refrigerator was held together with duct tape. The decking and stairs leading to the second floor were in need of repair as well. The light in the bathroom was just too bare, glaring bulbs with no fixture. certainly not what I would expect from a hotel under the Quality trade name.
- 4/5
I was very pleased with the location; the beds were very comfortable Older bathroom tile, noise from other residents

- 1/5
The smell alone should send you running even if you don't see how totally shabby, run down and incredibly poorly maintained and disgusting the room is. Pretty sure this could have been the site murder scene. I was only in the room for about 2 minutes in shock by how nasty it was and as I left the room I could tell the smell was now on me! It haunted me in my car until I got to a proper hotel and burned my clothes and took shower! The photos on the site do not accurately reflect the cleanliness of the room and cannot portray the odors! Remember the word quality is only a category and not a level how nice something actually is!!!! The best thing was the manger who was ver very nice and understanding and gave me a full refund and pointers to a nice restaurant and better hotel to possibly check out. I didn't take his advice and instead trusted my better instincts as he should have not let anyone rent a room here to begin with The Staff of Hotels.com was amazing and made sure I was fully reimbursed!!
- 3/5
Parking lot needs resurfacing and there isn’t a level area near the rooms. Bathroom was tiny, toilet not seated to the floor. Smell of mold permeated the room.
- 3/5
Mold in the closet . Breakfast can be changed needs more items not hard to do. Management needs to not be in there room so much. The shower drain needs something to keep drain from getting clogged with hair. Or just make sure cleaned after every use.
- 5/5
cozy and tucked away in the trees and river! Also, very warm temp outside! It’s not a fancy place but it gives you the basics. I booked last mins so I didn’t expect the Hilton. It’s clean, friendly staff and free bfast!

Decent place, a little run down. Close to a fun bar and good food.

This hotel was closed due to the power being out caused by storm. No fault of theirs of course. However, they did not issue a refund. Several attempts have been made to contact them with no response. Criminal

Room smelled of mold. We found hair that wasn’t ours on the bed. We had to wait to shower in the morning because there were workers fixing the pipes and the water was shut off. Environment was off, sketchy people around. Staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Fulfilled the need. Friendly staff.

Nice clean rooms
- 3/5
I have stayed at this hotel many times. It's the most affordable in the Santa Cruz Mountains. But it is a rustic mountain hotel. The shower curtain wants to hang outside the tub and will not stay against the wall of the shower. You constantly are pulling it back. The toilets need work as the seats are loose and it makes a lot of noise filling tank. The furniture was in need of repair of replacement , not duct tape. Overall the room was clean and staff is pleasant..
- 4/5
Everything was great! Lots of parking, everything around is nearby. Staff was super helpful!
- 2/5
The rooms are in desperate need of updating. Very run down bathrooms. Would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful check-in! Comfortable bed and bedding and beautiful location.
- 2/5
They promised us coffee and breakfast at 8 am and we waited until nearly 8:15 and still nobody was there, the office was locked.
- 3/5
Not the cleanest.
- 2/5
On the upside, the employee that I typically dealt with was very kind. Parking was easy. The redwoods suttounding it were heavenly. There were tables around the pool to sit and eat at, but i'm pretty sure the pool will not open as it was dirty.
- 2/5
We stayed overnight for a concert in Felton and knew pickings were slim in terms of nearby hotels…We agreed that the beds were comfy but what was REALLY disappointing was the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail by the housekeeping services! We planned on showering this AM, but after seeing the condition of the shower (dirt, leaves, and tiny dark hairs from a previous “male guest”) my friend and I declined! We took pictures and showed the front desk at check out to view… They apologized but couldn’t do anything in terms of giving us a discount since I booked through Expedia (a 3rd party app). He said to report the conditions, they will talk to their cleaning staff, and he’d be willing to talk to whoever needed in your management office to get us a discount on our previous charged stay. We will see what ends up happening.

Wasn’t able to attend due to an airlines strike and was told, nothing could be done and I lost all my money. Poor customer service to say the least
- 5/5
This is a lovely place and the staff were great. We arrived close to midnight after calling to say we were delayed and found a parking space had been reserved and the office still open with a friendly staff member present. Lovely setting. A+++
- 4/5
No coffee creamer
- 4/5
It was average, a bit outdated.
- 5/5
The beautiful rose bushes and unique river view add to the mountain charm of this place 👍
- 2/5
However the bathroom walls were covered in mold, the towels had stains, and the room had an old musty smell. The pool was too dirty to swim in. Bummer since this was one of the main reasons I booked this location during summer. The breakfast was not as advertised at all. Disappointed overall. Paid way way to much for the stay. Plus side, great coffee shop just down the road.
- 3/5
Our room was just cleaned and simple. It was our bathroom that was why we rank fewer stars. There was mold and mildew throughout the shower and entire bathroom. We were in a hurry so didn’t ask for a new room But not something we like to see and especially because it was so obvious.
- 5/5
Clean and good location that I want
- 2/5
A nice quiet inn, but the rooms could use repair and refurbishment
- 5/5
The hotel had a good location. was quiet and friendly atmosphere. wish that the handicap parking was better, needed more handicap spaces. it was nice that the hotel offered free vegitarian breakfast but wish there were more fruit items.
- 5/5
Loved the place. It was located within walking distance of several restaurants the staff was friendly and helpful- would stay there again.
- 3/5
Nice and quiet place close to a couple of bars and stores.

All over the carpet. The toilet was very loose. The parking was lacking. Just not a good stay
- 4/5
Staff and service was great!
- 3/5
Good for a quick overnight stay. Could definitely use some upgrades! Comfy mattress but if you’re a light sleeper (like me!) wouldn’t recommend staying here as walls are pretty thin & can hear the other guests. Won’t be staying here again! Friendly staff!
- 2/5
Very strong smell of soap or disinfectant, gave me a migraine
- 5/5
Super friendly staff member was a bright light at the end of a difficult travel day.
- 3/5
Stay was fine but there was not blackout curtain in the room, only the sheer curtain. Glad there was a coffee maker in the room
- 3/5
Garbage in the driveway and on the property. Room needed a coat of paint. Sink was cracked. Toilet was cracked and loose.

Room is larger than most motels, located in a quite place, which is important to us. The only complaint is you can hear the next-door guests.

- 4/5
Older motel that needs some upgrades
- 5/5
Excellent hospitality
- 2/5
We checked into the room, but did not stay the night. This hotel does not have any locks on the doors. No deadbold, no security chain/latch on any of the rooms. I've legitimately never stayed in a hotel that did not have a lock on the inside of the door. Plus there was an added bonus of a creepy guy hanging around the parking lot. The front desk guy was extremely friendly, but I value my safety and chose not to stay.

The place was nice nestled in the woods, but close to the small road town. The check in person was awesome. The bed was a bit hard but sleep able. The towels were plenty and new. We enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
Room was clean and AJ at the desk was very pleasant and helpful.
- 4/5
Reservations and website stated it had breakfast, but no one was available and area was closed during stay, so no morning coffee...uuuggghhh..
- 2/5
This place is really rundown with super thin walls. The staff is wonderful and very friendly, but the rooms need a major renovation. The bathroom was in horrible condition and the floors were dirty. Very comfortable bed, though!
- 5/5
Reception nice. Clean, quiet, safe, comfortable, & off the Main Street.
- 5/5
Breakfast could use some help and it was a little strang that it wasn't always set up during Breakfast time and that we were locked out and had to knock several times.
- 3/5
Room wasn’t ready, staff was standing around talking knowing we were waiting for room to be cleaned. Dirty sock in the bed. When speaking to management was basically brushed off.
- 5/5
The only thing i didn't like was that there was not a plug for the bathtub! Otherwise it was comfy and warm!
- 5/5
The property owner was super accommodating and kind. We will always rebook here to visit the San Lorenzo Valley and little Ben Lomond.
- 3/5
If you’re wanting Marriott quality, stay at a Marriott. Front desk staff was absolutely amazing and property has a gorgeous setting. Thin walls.
- 3/5
way too many homeless type people staying at this joint.noise after 11 pm in rooms and outside.walk up hobos from the highway with plastic bags in hand..not what i thought my stay their would be..WILL NOT GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN..
- 5/5
This is a beautiful property amonst the redwoods and so close to Santa Cruz. When I went to check in, the host genuinely seemed happy to see me as he greeted me with an enthusiastic hello. Everything here has been wonderful. There is even a restaurant a short walk up the street that played live music. The only drawback would be that they only have sheer curtains for privacy instead of thick drapes. They need to put those in. People dont want to be watched from outside with the lights on.
- 4/5
The staff tried very hard to accommodate us. The room was ok, though the entire facility was aging. We found out from a restaurant barkeep that they used the motel to house people who drank too much. I could believe that. But the price we paid was pretty stiff despite it being off-season for most visitors.
- 4/5
Great location in a nice little town
- 4/5
The guy at the front desk was friendly and gave great travel recommendations. The location was fabulous for hiking and adventure. The area was cute, safe and comfortable.
- 5/5
Quiet and safe
- 4/5
The motel is dated and needs a little sprucing up. The room was fine but security lock on the door was broken, there was mold on the window sill, the cabinet below the little fridge was disintegrating from being wet and was disgusting looking. We had to plug in the cable box in order to watch the TV. The price was cheap enough so we didn't expect anything fantastic and it suited our purpose.
- 3/5
The property was clean and the staff was very friendly. The furnishings are outdated but it served our purpose for a place to stay near Felton.
- 4/5
Nice enough. It was close to Roaring camp for a music festival.
- 5/5
Ok place
- 2/5
The bed seemed more like a queen (not king), air conditioning fan loud, walls thin & could hear neighbors talking, shower basic w/old tile, carpeting old, breakfast sparse w/white bread toast (no bagels or nice bread, no danishes)… I’ve stayed at nicer Quality Inns.
- 5/5
Nestled against the giant redwood trees, and a castle in view, this hotel ambiance was totally enchanting. One of the most quiet places we've stayed with a very nice room, closet to hang clothes, iron, ironing board, micro, refrigerator. What more could we ask for? The staff are genuinely kind and go out of their way to help you. Very convenient to Hwy 1 and other towns. We liked being not downtown with heavier traffic, but close enough (approx. 25 minutes) to the Santa Cruz Wharf and boardwalk. We will be back to stay!! Love this place
- 4/5
Good price for what you get. Kids loved clean and well kept pool. Bed was nice, clean and comfy… details of room not great like black mold in windowsill. Loved outdoor seati by options to enjoy the mountain air. Nice to have free breakfast but would’ve paid more to have better options, very very basic. Front desk nice staff!
- 5/5
When we checked in the lady at office was very pleasant. She said that we would have to be on the 2nd floor because all rooms were booked on first floor. I explained how it’s hard for me to go upstairs and I did request first floor when I booked. She was so understanding and was able to move us to first floor. She went out of her way to be so helpful. It was only myself and my granddaughter. I felt very safe here and had a wonderful relaxing 3 days in the redwoods. Thank you, we definitely will vacation here again.
- 5/5
In a very quiet setting down a winding road
- 5/5
Awesome hosts. A cold pool and it was a bit dirty too. Lovely location in the heart of redwoods. Nice little breakfast too.
- 4/5
nice cozy place to stay, may miss it due to maps at hotels.com places it across the street. breakfast was a bit lack luster. lack of items, towards the last hour of service. Not sure of early morning quantities, but was not impressed.
- 4/5
Those are a little on the smaller side but really clean and the staff are great.
- 4/5
Been there 3x enjoy the place. Cleaning crew is lacking, needs new drapes, drains in both shower and sink were slow, backing up, I personally with spouse hand wiped the door knobs and sink surface, ick. Advised the management of the lacking areas. It was quiet, cool, the area safe. So Quaulity Inn, spend some money you cheap skates, or we will book elsewhere.
- 5/5
Very clean, some things were a little worn out, but fantastic for your money. Very happy with everything. Highly recommend them.
- 3/5
The blinds in room were paper thin and the excessive light without blinds or curtains was unbearable for sleeping.
- 3/5
Beautiful area. Hotel was not fully equipped and maintained well. Staff was very friendly.
- 3/5
Property is surrounded by beautiful redwoods. It’s on a main road and the staff is very polite and accommodating however, they lacked supplies, the breakfast lacked healthy choices.
- 3/5
Carpet was cleaned just before we arrived. This resulted in the room smelling of wet carpet and chemicals. Not very pleasant. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Couldn't ask for more.
- 1/5
Bathroom was very dirty. Toilet wasn’t wiped down, a puddle of water next to the toilet with hair on the floor behind the toilet and in the shower, shower curtain was filthy and the walls need to be wiped down
- 4/5
The Quality Inn is close to Santa Cruz, has dining options close by, is quiet and right in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The facility itself needs a bit of a remodel
- 4/5
Clean and comfy beds, free breakfast. Nothing fancy but I didnt need anything fancy, just a place to sleep. Check in was easy and employee was very friendly. I also really liked that the bathroom window opened to let in the fresh forest air.
- 3/5
It is an older place which is fine.Bout the carpet needs replaced. Bathroom needs to be scraped of its calcium deposits and painted by a professinal.Really nneds some TLC.A new lampshade in room 108 and a new blackout liner on the front window..But A.J. at the front desk was wonderful. He bent over bacwards to be of service to us. And his smile and kindness was charming. The staff that works there can only use what is provided for them.
- 5/5
Relax in the quiet and peace of the redwoods. Older property but they do their best to provide excellent service.

4 star stay. All these things are the reasons why it wasn't 5 stars.

We'd have been better off at a motel 6 and not spent $300!

A very comfortable room under the redwoods.
- 1/5
Mold stains in sills, shower rod held together with blue painters tape, clear packing tape over hole in bathroom door, dirty walls with some sections of missing drywall. The most concerning issue was the extremely unpleasant smell that we could not place. It permeated the entire room and all the towels, though was not in the bed sheets. Some sort of cleaner? Never smelled anything like it. You’ll be disappointed. Zero stars, do not recommend.

Perfect little stop for the night for a wedding we were attending near by!

For the money it was well worth it, there is only one nice restaurant in town, but within walking distance, and very good, called the Auora. The rooms could use some updates. Overall we would stay there again.

We paid over $250 a night for a hotel that makes motel 6 look like a luxury suite. The swimming pool had a green ring around the perimeter, the window in our bathroom was broken and would not close (we were on the ground floor & the bathroom window could easily fit a human body through it), the hotel room smelled like funk, carpets & bed panels stained, ripped curtains, dirty walls, and floor boards. I have been using Expedia for years and have not experienced a misrepresentation of this magnitude.
- 4/5
Pretty location walkable to restaurants; lovely grounds, quiet despite being near the road.
- 5/5
Very nice. Good price for the location.
- 4/5
Staff was VERY friendly and the pool/garden were absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

The photos Expedia has published for this property are wildly misleading. The rooms are in terrible shape. The carpets are stained, the curtains have holes, the shower curtains are falling off the wall. You can tell this place does simple cleaning but doesn’t deep clean the rooms. We were scared to take our shoes off and walk barefoot. The walls and doors had dirt and marks on them. The pool was so gross even ducks wouldn’t get in it. There’s no seating next to the pool that isn’t broken. The AC units are very old and ours stopped working leaving us sweltering one night. All this to be said, we raised concerns with Expedia about the conditions we encountered and they offered us $25 for two nights at a place that makes motel 6 look nice. So save yourself the hassle, disappointment in both the hotel and Expedia, and book somewhere else and through someone else.
