The sheets smelled of stale smoke. My husband closed the bathroom door as he was leaving the room and it locked. Someone will have to go in and fix It. By the response from the front desk this has happened before The ladies who checked us in were very nice

This property was in the process of renovating and still was spotless clean and tidy.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Check-in was simple. After traveling all day, we were ready to check-in and have a delicious dinner before settling in for the night. The person at the front desk recommended a Mexican restaurant that was within walking distance, and it did not disappoint. The room was clean and breakfast was good. Convenient parking. Would stay there again.

Upon check-in, there were crumbs on the floor near the bed. When this was brought up, I felt the issue was dismissed and the crumbs were attributed to my child, despite us having just arrived and only having brought pizza into the room after noticing the condition. During my stay, the vanity fixture in the room fell and landed on me. This same broken vanity/board had exposed nails, and I was later instructed to move it myself, which created a serious safety concern. Instead of this being treated as a maintenance or safety issue, I was told I had “forcibly caused it to fall” which felt like blame was being shifted rather than the issue being addressed appropriately. Additionally, the door lock in the original room did not function properly, which resulted in us needing to change rooms late at night around 11pm. During this process, a staff member mentioned she would “get in trouble” for moving us but also stated that “the customer is always right,” which felt unprofessional and confusing given the situation. Overall, while many staff members were kind and helpful—including housekeeping, who were pleasant and responsive, and the breakfast attendants, who were especially friendly and attentive—the experience was significantly impacted by how the issues were handled by management.

The carpet did not seem like it was vacuumed before we checked in. Figured they would get it the next morning with the daily housekeeping…nope, they gave us more towels despite us hanging up the ones we used per their guidance to be reused. Beds were not made either. The shower handle moved all over the place and we had to prop the shower drain open because it would not stay open. Breakfast was available, but not until 7:00 am, 30 minutes after we had to depart for the day.

Breakfast was wonderful! My wife and I along with our 4 children all enjoyed our stay.

Loved The breakfast selections. Staff very attentive to keeping everything stocked and fresh. Upon entering my room, there was a half empty water bottle on nightstand. The microwave had not been cleaned. The bathroom was clean. Bed was comfortable,pillows were comfortable. Would have liked to have an extra blanket in room.

We were traveling to florida it was great spot to refresh, the beds were wicked comfortable, clean bathrooms , great shower . Breakfast was one of the best I’ve been , fresh pastries, great variety & healthy choices also . Eggs & bacon was delicious. Everyone was a delight !

Location and cleanliness were great

This was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever experienced in the South. With my OCD, cleanliness is very important to me, and I can honestly say I did not feel the need to clean anything myself—which is rare. Overall, this was one of my best hotel experiences, and I will absolutely be staying here again.

Clean, air and heat worked good. Bathroom a little inconvenient when you have 2 people in a room with a lot of personal hygiene items to put on 1 sink. There’s An area above the toilet but not a place you want to store things and accidentally drop things in the toilet. Maybe having storage u der the sink would be a better place.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly. My only complaint was I requested a handicap room because we were in town for a medical procedure. The bed was a little high considering it was a handicap room. I had a difficult time getting mom in and out of bed. Everything else was good.

Hotel met the needs of my stay.

On the surface, room looks very nice. However, I always check the mattresses and while doing this, the dust behind the bed was thick, including on the lamp cord. Also, the mattress was not encased, which is always an unclean feeling for me - both because I am allergic to dust mites and also for sanitary reasons. Sleeping hit my allergies harder than normal for a hotel room.

The air didn’t cool the room down until you put it at 64 and then it took quite a while.

The hotel seemed ok. The breakfast was good, the beds were clean. However, the noise. It was extremely loud, we could hear flushing toilets, doors slamming, we didn't get the rest we needed for a long trip.

The lady that checked us in was very pleasant and accommodating. And the guy that checked us out was also friendly- still smiling at the end of his night shift. Will stay here again.

Breakfast was good for a hotel stay good verity. Area seems safe with a well lit mostly fenced off parking lot. Staff was nice and welcoming. My only complaint was the room was not cleaned well there was hair stuck to the bathroom door there was a sticky stain on the bedside dresser and there were toothpaste stains on the mirror. For the money this is a good stay just wish the room was a little cleaner.

The Hiral is very dated. The breakfast area was neglected, chairs were ripped and tables not cleaned. The pancake machine was broken so an alternative of frozen waffles was offered. When I asked the lady came out holding 2 waffles with her bare hands, which is not sanitary.

The staff at front desk would not give me my receipt at checkout.

I notified the hotel at 6:37pm of my late arrival of 11:30pm. The friendly desk clerk stated “no problem, we have your room, drive safe”. Upon arrival no double queen was available so they offered a king room which would not suffice. After phone calls and room searches by the staff I was offered a double queen with sitting area that might have been recently carpet cleaned as the room was damp. We took the room but well after midnight we were awakened by an attempt to enter our room by a late arriving guest. Clerk at checkout was apologetic but beware the hotel will oversell your pre-paid room.

Due to traveling and the night auditor made it quick and easy for check in. They had a light on in our room which was nice so you weren’t arriving to a completely dark room and having to turn on the first bright light at the door with two sleeping kids. A piece of the floor molding had falling off and was in the hallway of our room. I did let them know at checkout. The breakfast attendant might have been having a bad day, but could be a bit more friendly. She seemed irritated that we moved two small tables together for our family of 4 cause there was not other large setting. They should post that their pool doesn’t open until Memorial Day. Which seems late for a southern state hotel, my son was so disappointed this was one of the reasons we booked the hotel because it has a pool for a morning swim.

Staff was apologetic and very kind about it. Later, our son slipped exiting shower and busted his lip. Staff provided an ice pack and asked if he was ok. Hotel may need to review some non slip applications to prevent reoccurrences. IHG and Travelocity should also communicate better on amenities like the pool. Though we preferIHG and Travelocity for travel, we would have booked elsewhere or not have promised the kids a swim on arrival during their first night of spring break. Staff was great!

Check in staff was super kind and helpful. Room was in pretty poor shape, but was clean. Breakfast was non-edible and person working the breakfast was completely unapproachable and rude.

The service here was incredible. The staff was friendly and genuine when we checked in, in passing conversation, and when a personal issue arose with a missing cord of ours that we were prepared to go out and buy or go without. One employee let us borrow his, and we left it in the room as we departed. The hotel was in walking distance of several restaurants for my family of six (four small children). The breakfast was pleasantly superior to most complimentary breakfasts at other hotels. All in all this is one of the best hotel stays we have ever had.

Comfortable beds, loved the Dove products in the bathroom. The breakfast is good also. The safety bar for getting in the tub is good but I need a bar inside the shower to prevent falling.

The check in was smooth. Upon entering the room, we noticed codified visible mood on the front vent. The room was clean but the mold was a major disappointment!!

Everything was okay but there is roaches in the room. I have stayed next door at the home 2 suites and it is a much nicer and much cleaner hotel

Very good stay. The room was clean and confortable, front desk and breakfast staff were excellent. A little noisy in the early hours of the day with working crews making a lot of noise at 5:00 am while getting ready to out to work. (There were many work crews staying here at the time)

The breakfast was so good. Me and my kids went for 2nds. The pullout sofa was not in good condition. It was very flat and hard. The rooms are small.

This was my 8th visit and stay at Blythewood. Staff are outstanding. My one fault would be that there needs to be, at least, one more safety hold bar in the bath tub, especially for us senior citizens. (Note: I am 81), I will stay again, on my next visit to South Carolina.

Not in the best location, but the stay was alright.

Hotel was booked and our room felt damp and smelled very musty. Front desk sent up maintenance to spray deodorizer to mask the odor. Hotel was booked so we couldn’t switch rooms. They should not have put guests in that room. Even maintenance admitted it was bad.
