Colony motel is in a very convenient location for me, which is why i stay there. Room is clean, beds are fairly comfortable and the shower is always good. For the price, i consider it a good value!!

Room was smelly and old

There was a dirty towel in the closet of the room. The water in the shower kept loosing pressure then gaining it again. The pillow case appeared to have mascara on it. The beds are more like a full size than an actual queen. You have to ask for the password to access the Wi-Fi.

bed was horrible. hard and lumpy. people next door were yelling, slamming doors, and banging on. walls all night. asked staff for help and was told too bad. didn't get any sleep and was afraid of escalation of violence all night. Would NEVER recommend or stay there again

At this motel there is not breakfast. But there is restaurant all around. I have. no complaints staffing is good and personnel, very friendly and conscientious of a guests.

Overall, I enjoy staying at colonial Motel. There was no breakfast. There was locations close around where you can eat breakfast and dinner a good area for walking around near Brookfield zoo so I will continue to recommend this motel to my friends and others. Impacted by. The Internet could be a little bit better where the Wi-Fi everything else was good.

Only consideration: The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. No big deal.

Nothing The ac didnt work. I had to leave to find a different place after 2 hours it was so uncomfortable.

Woman was kind and let us check in early. The motel was a vibe. Was not nasty Bedding was a little itchy but it’s okay.

The hotel is a little older but it felt like they were trying to maintain it and it was very clean.

Not enough tv channel choices. Outdated. Toilet paper roll broken. Shower head needs replaced correctly. Faucet for the sink needs fixed. Need to have a refund policy for emergency cancellation at least.

Had low expectations but floor, toilet and shower had previous occupant’s hair all over. Toilet was also dirty, as were linens. So gross.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet and it was a safe place to stay. The Serbian restaurant directly across the street has amazing food!

Good, safe parking. Nice and clean. No problems at all. There is some traffic noise but that's expected being right on Ogden Avenue. Quiet enough so I did have a good sleep. Would stay again. Phil

My room was a "smoking room", which was never specified when i booked it. It had an ash tray with ashes in the room when i got there. I had a hard time breathing my entire stay and all of my belongings and clothes smelled like smoke the entire trip. It was embarrassing. To my knowledge, i dont believe its even legal to offer indoor smoking rooms in 2025... and at the very least these needs to be specified when booking. i would have happily paid more to avoid this.

during the 4 days we were in that motel, no one ever came to clean our room. There were 2 sink somehow, one of them will not drain!

The room was okay. The beds were very firm and stiff. The first room I was in the ac went out at 3:45am and I tried calling the office several times. No answer so I had to get dressed and walk to the office and tell them. They gave me a new room with a smaller bed but at least the AC worked.

Better than. Expected. Quite affordable for Chicago. U can get a metra to the city that takes 20 minutes.

The property was clean and they had signs at check in about not putting up with noise. The cleaner was a little strong on the perfume side, but not terrible once the a/c ran for a little bit. The fitted sheet didn’t want to stay on the mattress. Over all it was clean and economical stay.

No-frills, affordable motel in Brookfield. Room was clean, relatively modern. Had microwave, refrigerator. If you are in town to check out Galloping Ghost Arcade, this place is basically within walking distance.

Don't let looks fools ya! The room was very clean, big, and affordable! The bathroom was beautiful especially with the double head shower! We had a wonderful stay here! Coffe and restaurants were walking distances and the staff rarely bothered us! Will be booking again when we're in the area! Thank you!

I was in town for work and i found the accommodations very lovely . The management is very kind. This is a classic vintage property meticulously cared for by the family that owns it. This is not a chain . This is a family operated, independent establishment. So rare these days.

During my weekend stay, I was very unsatisfied with those rules are listed on the front desk window says, "no parties" and "no visitors" while I checked in yesterday.

This hotel is clean, the room is fine, no frills. Bed is pretty comfortable. Location is great for me, which is why i stay here.

This motel was absolutely adorable! I felt like I was pulling up to a fancy 70's motel. The room was bigger than most hotel rooms. The check in was easy and staff was wonderful. The only complaints would be fairly minor. They forgot to clean the fridge and the shampoo was partially used and they forgot to throw it away. The biggest complaint would be that we weren't in the room very long and our feet were black from the carpet and need professional cleaning on them. I would absolutely stay there again though and it was still a huge win from having to pay $300-$600 for a room downtown. It was an easy 20 minute drive into downtown Chicago.

Easy access to room and parking

For the price, it was a five-star stay. Furniture might not be in top notch condition and there's no coffee pot, but those are my only negative comments. Check in was easy, room was clean, AC and the fridge worked, overall it was a quiet motel and we got good night's sleep while we were in Chicago for the weekend.

Budget-friendly option delivers as it should. Staff was very nice and helpful. The room has had some nice updates, could maybe use some more. But overall I was very pleased with price/amenities combo.

The cleanliness of my room was questionable. I noticed handprints on the headboard of my bed and on the bathroom shower wall. I’m appreciative of the vending and ice machine, the refrigerator and microwave, being smoke-friendly. But the motel seemingly is there for the purpose I didn’t expect, I didn’t feel comfortable with the bed linen and the aged walls etc.

The room was not clean. The underside of the shower/tub mat was black beyond belief with mold. I told my wife to stay out of it. I went to plug in my charger and the wall outlet was dangerously loose. The bed had only a thin sheet and the fitted sheet pulled off the corners. The soap was worthless as no lather could be formed. Finally, thin or uninsulated walls allowed too much noise all around us. Do not consider staying here.

The location was excellent for me. It was a short walk to the train station and there were restaurants and a grocery store nearby. Check-in was super easy and the property seemed well kept. I would stay again.

Room was comfortable but a little outdated. Refrigerator froze my bottled water and there was mold on the shower. Parking was right outside the room so the walk between was nice and short.

It was a bad experience, I checked in approximately 4:52 AM and was told when I arrived there that checkout was at 11:00 AM and only had 4-5 hours of sleep also it was cold in the room and turned the heat on and the huge vent was blowing loudly and couldn't sleep and took a long time to warm up, but the blower was loud and kept me up most of the time and it was disturbing. I'm also upset I paid for the day $76.72 and had to leave in 6 hours and coping with a loud heater vent. I will never forget this experience and I am asking, not demanding for a full REFUND.

It was advertised $66 for this room but I got billed for $77 tax. It is bait and switch. Also I was asked to change my selected dates after I paid. I don't think I want to stay here again.

Good location if your going to the mega arcade. Walls were a bit think and could hear our neighbors having a good time. You get what you pay for. Just fine

Bed was so firm that it hurt my back and it was high off the ground that me being 5'4" had to jump into the bed. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. There were a few cracked tiles in the bathroom area. Also called motel to let them know that we were running late in coming to check in and their voicemail was full and when they did call back we didn't know it was the motel calling because when we answered they didn't say that this was (enter name) from Colony Motel so that we knew who we were talking to. Also didn't know we had to lock the door from the inside to make sure that no one without a key could get in. But for a quick visit to visit family it was ok.

Great location, Uber was around $25 (off-peak hours) to Loop area if you're not driving and $45 (peak hours). It's really a no frills place- bring your own necessities to be extra sure you have what you need. I did notice that things are very worn out- the bed cover had holes in it. They should def try to change those small things out.

Low end motel. expected that. Towels were clean, but not very absorbent. Needs updated lighting... LED would help a lot. Soda vending machine didnt seem to know how to count back change.

I thought this place was going to be not so great, but it exceeded my expectations. Clean room, great location, had just enough room in the parking lot for the moving truck we were traveling in, and close walk to the metra and buses that brought you into the city. I would definitely stay here again.

I love staying at the Colony Motel; it’s so close to Galloping Ghost Arcade it’s not funny. This motel is ALWAYS clean, the staff is very nice, and the rooms have what you need to sleep. THAT SAID, if you are a bougie person and need extra fancy, this place isn’t for you. This is a very old (1940’s? 1950’s?) motorist hotel; and while the place is actually in great shape for it’s age, it’s not modern or updated at all. Yes, there’s Wi-Fi, yes there’s flatscreen TVs, yes there’s AC, but it’s totally in the old school actual REAL ROOM KEY style. I love the place personally because I find charm in such things and the price is right, but YMMV

I haven't slept on a bed in 5 months. It was great to sleep on one!!! I thought the bed was too high for me. Otherwise I had a great stay. I would come here again in the future.

It is actually a nice place to stay. Off the main street of Ogden, but you do not hear the traffic. The room was nice and clean. Well kept. Small bathroom.

The place was Poorly maintained. Broken mirror in the bathroom. Burn holes on the carpet. Stains in the bedding. No towels on spin arrival, we had to ask. Overall I believe that this motel should be shut down.

The place was an inexpensive place to sleep near Chicago (about ~25 min drive without traffic). However, the actual location is somewhat of a rough neighborhood. In addition, the place was not well cleaned, and every single towel provided had either hairs or stains in it. You get what you pay for I guess.

Found both bath and face towels have long curly hair, room door need to be pushed and pulled hard to open and close, location is ok, bar soap from previous guest still left in the shower and didn't seem like the shower area was cleaned at all between guests, little pouches for shampoo that are hard to tear open without scissors, room has a wall unit AC, TV reception is weak and multiple channels didn't work, and from check-in and check-out process everything reflects a typical mom and pop 2-star motel with zero customer service skills or quality control standards to be expected. Cheap price I paid and cheap is what I got.
