The Tangerine - A Burbank Hotel

The room was extremely clean and well kept. All the staff were kind and helpful. The morning pastries were a nice touch. Very fresh. The pool was refreshing. Close proximity to air of restaurants and stores relatively in close proximity.

The stay was fabulous! We will be back again.

Great location, staff, and parking. Loved the early checkin and coffee machine. ONLY note was that the AC in our room was kind of loud, but they said it was about to be replaced. Also, no late night food in walking distance, so plan accordingly. Would def. come back.

I stayed here with my family when we were in town just to go to Universal Studios. I wasn’t familiar with the area when I booked it and was a little concerned because I didn’t want to put my family in a dump or a bad neighborhood. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find a beautiful updated/retro hotel with a crisp, clean pool and a newly renovated room! The staff were friendly and helpful, there are fresh pastries from a local bakery every morning for breakfast and a coffee and hot chocolate machine in the front office. There are also drink and snack vending machines. As good as the hotel is, bonus for it also being in a very clean and safe neighborhood. There are lots of restaurants within 10 minutes of walking and it’s only a 6-minute drive to Universal Studios. We loved our stay and would happily come back if we’re in the area again.

The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and quite helpful. The cleaning staff kept on top of the room and grounds to maintain the cleanliness of the property. The coffee machine in the lobby is top-notch. Would love to have at every hotel, and the pastries were truly delicious. No true breakfast included, but the pastries were satisfying. The parking in front of the hotel is a little small, and the pool is small, but all in all, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Everything my family and I needed was right there. Not to mention the orange accents were my favorite color. Absolutely nothing.

Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. $12 Uber to Universal City Metro and then you can get anywhere for $1.75… Would highly recommend.

The Tangerine was such a nice place to stay! It was perfect for just my daughter and I. Upon arriving my daughter did not feel that great , as soon as we walked in , we were able to get a room and the beautiful front desk hostess Dani , gave her water and told her to sit on the couch until I completed our check out. Our entire stay was perfect!

This hotel/motel is an excellent place to stay. The staff is friendly and always helpful. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The complimentary pastries each morning along with the coffee/tea/multi beverages were wonderful. And The Tangerine is located next to a number of great eating places. that being said, parking is first come, first serve, but we have not had a problem finding a space. I am a big fan and will definitely stay here whenever we are in the Burbank area.

No idea how this gets a rating over nine. It’s an average sort of clean sort of up to date motel with flaws from aging. Staff are super and should be a 10. Only sweet pastries for breakfast if you don’t eat gluten there is nothing not even a yogurt. It’s ok, just ok

We enjoyed this boutique hotel immensely. The staff was great and treated us like family. They were so accommodating with any request. The location was perfect and had several wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Parking was a little tight but they had plenty spaces in the back that adjoined the hotel. Room had everything we needed and beds were comfortable. Breakfast had great pastries and coffee and chocolate drinks. Pool was clean and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. From the moment we checked in with Danny/Denny we knew our experience would be awesome. She had great customer service.

I had to park my car outside on an open city street curb because there was no parking spots left. Other than that it was ok.

Great location and very close to great restaurants. Clean room, pretty roomey for family of 4. AC worked good. Pool was nice my kids loved it. Free parking is bonus in the front and in the back- Saves you a ton! Pastries (side note people are such savages LOL) and coffee in the lobby are a bonus. Also thwy have cold and hot water there and a microwave. (Mini fridge in room) will reccomend and stay again.

Ours was a fresh and newly renovated room with comfortable beds and amenities. It’s a great little motel for the money. It’s located in a very walkable area with many restaurants and cafes nearby. Parking is included. Home Boy industry baked goods and coffee are supplied for breakfast. It would be nice to have a couple other options such as fruit or yogurt, but overall, it’s a great place.

The bathroom is really SMALL! it's so hard to go in and out of it. The pastries for breakfast was an OK feature but was not enough! They could have added some fruits, granola bars, hard boiled eggs and juices. I was really expecting a WOW factor considering its high ratings online, but we were not impressed at all. The only thing we liked is its location - it's a 10-minute drive to Universal Studios.

The rooms are on the smaller side and the AC is a bit loud, but the bed was super comfy. The service is what truly stands out—the staff is so friendly and even included our stuffed animal in the turndown service! We also enjoyed the free morning pastries and coffee. Having Jinya Ramen Bar right next door was a huge plus for dinner. We would definitely stay here again for the hospitality and convenience!

The hotel is small but practical. The front desk was clean, and the man there was very kind and helped us quickly. One thing I really appreciated is that they don’t have a strict check-in cutoff, which worked great since we arrived around 3am. The room is small but functional it had a mini fridge, TV, and a bathtub with hot water. The lighting wasn’t the best (a bit dim/yellow), but overall it worked for what we needed. Parking is free, which is great, but it’s limited (only about 6 spots). When we arrived, it was full, so we had to park on the street. The front desk let us know that was okay, just that we needed to move the car before 8am. I set an alarm, moved it early, and was able to get a spot by then. We did oversleep a few minutes past checkout, but I really appreciated that the front desk called the room to remind us instead of just charging extra 😭 that was super thoughtful. Overall, I liked the customer service, and for the price, it’s a good, convenient option!

Our room was slightly dated but was to be expected considering it’s a motel. Was a great location with Warner Brothers less than a 10 minute walk away and lots of great restaurants nearby (we had a lovely lunch at girl and the chicken!). Would recommend for anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in a safe neighbourhood whilst in LA.

Overall a great stay. Wish they had a hot tub in the pool area but the heated pool was very nice. Overall clean and well maintained and the staff was nice. Much smaller than expected but that’s ok. The only downsides were parking, it was an alley type situation which we didn’t love, but didn’t have any problems while parked. And a little sad that half way through the breakfast time there was zero breakfast left. Overall would stay again.

Pool was nice, I did not have problems parking at the hotel during the week, but might need to park on street when hotel is full on weekends. Free HBO. Has a classic retro vibe, comfy beds. Enjoyed 3 days here. Again, staff were so nice and helpful.

The staff was beyond welcoming and accommodating. We stayed there two nights and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The only reason why I didn’t give them all 5 stars was because the rooms were outdated and extremely small. Our family of 4 were living on top of each other when we were in the room. We also did not use any of the amenities so I cannot speak on those specifics.

The hotel is basic though great for what it is. The room was and grounds were clean. Staff were friendly. The location is great for restaurants, walking to WB, or a short ride to Universal Studios.

However, the rooms themselves could use a serious update. I can’t speak for the other rooms, but ours had paint peeling off the walls, rust in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, etc. While the outside of the motel was freshly painted and sleek looking, the inside of the room felt more like the classic slightly run-down roadside motel.

The bed was comfortable, the linens were nice, the restroom was clean.

What a wonderful place to stay for 5 days. The bed was comfortable, good quality sheets, fun colors with the lightweight comforter and decorative pillows. Every day our room was freshened up the the maids, who took pride in their work. Office staff was fun to converse with and very helpful.

I had a great stay at Tangerine Hotel. The hotel is clean, modern, and very well-maintained. The rooms feel fresh and comfortable, and everything was spotless. The staff truly stands out. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. Another big plus is the location. It is very walkable, with tons of great restaurants, coffee spots, and places to grab a bite just steps away. Overall, an excellent stay, and I would absolutely recommend it.

The Tangerine is clearly a renovated older motel but it is very well kept and clean! The check in with the lovely staff was quick and easy and they honored my request of a 2nd floor room. The room was just spacious enough for 2 people and was very clean and no weird smells. The only things about the room that were small inconveniences was that the ac unit is old and the adjustable air flow thingy on it was loose so it didn’t stay positioned until we placed a magazine to stabilize it lol it was cold and powerful though! Second thing was the vent in the bathroom did not work so we had to leave the door open to let out the steam. But those things were minor and I would definitely stay here again! There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and a bar all next to or a 2 min walk from the hotel as well! We stayed on a week day so the free parking in the back was never full.

I’m not sure how this place has more than 3 stars, it’s more like a mediocre motel. Staff was friendly and location for our trip was convenient but room had a strong musty odor and everything in room felt damp.

This is a quaint little place on the same tier as a roadside motel. They have a consistent theme and the property is well maintained. One of the few hotels in the area of feature free parking for guests, and with plenty of great dining options right next door. Would stay here again.

Parking was limited but we had no issues getting a spot. The bakery was great, but it was limited (which was also not a super huge deal for us). The staff was amazing and super friendly. The property was adorable and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Some updates are needed, like the wallpaper needs to be replaced or just removed and painted and the carpet in our room needed replacement as well. But overall, a wonderful stay in a super cute area.

This is a great little spot! The rooms were nice, parking is plentiful and free, but the real delight is the front desk staff. They are super welcoming and friendly! I also liked that the desk is staffed 24hrs. I traveled with just me and my daughter and we felt safe. It's also an easy 10 minute walk from Warner Bros studios! We didn't eat in the area but looked like there were plenty of great options nearby. They have a great coffee machine in the lobby with a variety of coffee, teas and hot cocoa, and also provide fresh pastries in the AM! Such a great deal for the price, highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!

The good: - Walking distance from Warner Brothers Studio and a bunch of restaurants - Free coffee, tea, water, and ice in the main office - Room/sheets were clean and smelled fine despite a few reviews reporting a musty odor. - Kind and attentive staff - We didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean and well-maintained. The bad: - Bathroom is tiny and can be a challenge if more than one person is in there. - Wallpaper is peeling and you can see the uneven cuts. - Pillows were too firm and lumpy for my taste. - Breakfast is only a small selection of pastries from a local bakery and they’re soft and not fresh, but it’s something. - Parking on the actual property is limited. There are four regular spots and one handicap. We didn’t bring a car so it wasn’t an issue, and I’m sure there are off-property spots, but something to keep in mind if that’s important to you.

The Tangerine is a very cute hotel in a fantastic location. The room is decent sized and comfortable. The staff were wonderful. The rooms need a little maintenance. It seems like whoever installed the wallpaper did a bad job because it is peeling really badly. Also, I needed to use the iron and the ironing board cover was in terrible shape. Really didn't want to put my clothes on it.

Office staff were warm and welcoming. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Nearby restaurants and warm pool were a plus. Safe environment was important for me traveling with my young granddaughter and we never felt unsafe. This will be my “go to” hotel when I’m in this area from now on.

The staff was very helpful and nice though. The check-in was easy. Just a very old hotel. When I go back I will be staying somewhere else do to these factors. Looks like the Hilton and Sheridan hotel is within walking distance to universal studios and much nicer for a few bucks more. Unfortunately Expedia descriptions can be deceiving some times. Live and learn I guess. I can't say I would recommend this location. I hope this helps future travelers.

And we liked the pastries in the morning. 6) Wonderful restaurants just steps away. (Go to Don Cuco's!) 7) Easy-to-access free parking. We would recommend The Tangerine to anyone heading to Burbank, CA!

They didn’t serve breakfast but they did have very good pastries and a coffee machine that served all kinds of hot drinks. I personally loved it! The room was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. The area is super nice and calm. There are a lot of restaurants around. Staff was super nice. Highly recommend and will stay there again.

I really enjoyed our stay. It was nothing fancy, but super cute and it was perfect for what we needed. It was so conveniently located and the fact that check in is at 1 pm is awesome!! The front staff were so friendly and inviting. They let us park our car there earlier than check in so that we could go to Universal Studios. And it is super close to Universal for either public transit or rideshare. Great food options along the street where the hotel is located and the heated pool was the icing on the cake. Also, we never had any issues with noise and the bed was super comfy. We will surely be staying here again.

Room presented well and location was close to Universal Studios and some local restaurants but the room had a very musky old smell and the carpets likely need a more regular steam cleaning or replacement. Continental breakfast is just a tray of pastries and coffee machine. When checking in they take your credit card on file for what they call incidentals but upon check out will not provide receipt or statement of account upon check out of these incidentals - regardless if you have any.

Awesome place

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable with a down comforter, that made the it cozy. The hotel is updating rooms but it was not a problem. In the lobby they had a statebof the art coffee machine with so many options and fresh pastries for a loval shop. There was a an emergency water leak and the hotel had to shut it off. We were not able to shower before we left for tje day and returned late tjat evening. When we checked out the next day the manager gave us a partial refund for tje inconvience without me asking. That impressed me the most and I will be back.

Check in was easy. My room was located next to the walkway to the parking lot which was a bit annoying but it was a fine room. It’s a nice little hotel with a classic style that is great for quick trips and small families on holiday.

A less sleezy motel 6. Faint smell of urine but otherwise clean. Bed felt hard and cheap. Breakfast was a tray of pastries. Stars are because those were deli's. Parking was easily accessible although we did have to park on the street one night. Staff was pleasant sans one very sassy man at reception. Wouldnt stay here again or recommend it but i didnt leave as soon as i entered and i think that should count for something!

The area was really safe and there was free parking located in the back of the hotel, it also made me feel safer that there was someone at the front desk 24/7, perfect for universal and halloween horror nights ! Also a lot of food options within walking distance

I have stayed at the Tangerine many times and it is my go-to for any concerts and events in the northern Los Angeles area. Plenty of parking, even when the hotel is full. Plenty of dining options in the vicinity and a great staff to help you enjoy your stay.

Room was clean but outdated and small. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Parking is first come first serve or you're on the street. Breakfast was pastries, coffee and tea.

Location for getting to and from Universal studios was great short uber ride. Room was ok at best. The vinyl flooring they used had gaps in between the planks and were not properly afixed to the floor. The night stand was not properly attached to the wall and was ready to fall off. Bed was VERY firm for my taste.

Check -in was pleasant and the room was pretty good. I did have an issue with being able to close the curtains, so it let a stream of light through the gap that paired with an overhead light to be quite bright. Minor inconvenience with a nice stay overall.

It was also lovely to be in close proximity to many restaurant options for many types of cravings. This was also our recovery zone from Halloween Horror Nights on Sunday evening as we closed out the park that night and needed rest after coming back by 3AM! This area is one of my favorites to visit whenever the finances and time off align~

Stayed 3 nights and we’re really pleased with the hotel. The King room we had was clean and modern with a really comfortable bed. Nice toiletries provided and plenty of towels. The rooms must be well soundproofed as there was no guest noise at all even being by the lifts. Coffee maker supplies replenished daily and as a Marriott Bonvoy member we had free WiFi and bottled water. The staff we interacted with at the desk and guest services were friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally placed approximately 15 minutes walk from the Disney entrance with restaurants and shops to pick up drinks etc on route. No time to use the pool or other facilities but it looked nice. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend.

The staff at Tangerine were really exceptional. Shoutout to Michael at front desk. Better than average coffee in the lobby, really comfortable bed, on-site parking. They have a continental breakfast from a local bakery, that had a nice selection, but honestly a bit disappointing as far as quality, but certainly not a deal breaker. Would definitely return.

Staff at hotel are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast pastry was delicious, as was the coffee. Staff will get you your particular pastry if none is on the tray. The pool is cute, as is the whole motel. While we always got a parking space there isn’t a plentiful supply…There is a supermarket within 10 mins walk (Vons), and WB is just 10 mins walk away. Both of these walks are safe. Great hotel in lovely, safe area and well serviced with restaurants.

The room was clean and decorated nicely. Especially nice to have a separate vanity area, table with chairs, and the dimming lights are a plus. The area around the hotel is clean and super safe to walk around, and there’s a ton of food variety right around the hotel. The vending machines on property were convenient too. All in all, zero complaints. My boyfriend and I are season pass holders for Universal and we’ll definitely consider staying here again.

Biggest issue was the front desk announcing our room number like a dozen times during check in. There were also some exposed wires that should have had fixtures or emergency/smoke alarms. Kinda weird but not really noticeable.

I loved the retro vibe of this motel. It is very well maintained and clean. Had a tidy, cute libby with coffee and fresh pastries in the morning and water refilling for your own water bottle. Had a great dinner at the Mexican joint next door, and walked to our Warner Brothers studio tour.

It was perfect for our weekend trip to Universal Studios. The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly, would definitely recommend! 12 minute drive/uber to Universal! Also great coffee machine in the lobby with delicious pastries included.

Next time I'm in not just SFV, but LA in general, I will definitely stay at The Tangerine again. The staff was amazing, the property is immaculate, and I couldn't have asked for a better location. Truly a hidden gem.

Wanted a hotel with close proximity to Warner Brothers and Universal and this hotel definitely checked that box. The hotel itself was wonderful and had a very cool, retro Burbank vibe to it. The breakfast pastries provided every morning were also very delicious.

Need to stay on top of maintenance and upkeep - looking a little tired

It is a very cool, LA style mid-century motel. Front desk is very helpful, Kamal has everything organized. It was my second stay. Located next to a GREAT Mexican restaurant, the original Bob's Big Boy is just down the street, and only minutes form the airport. Lyft's and Uber took 2 minutes to arrive. Next time I go to Burbank, I'll stay there again.

It was the first time we chose a hotel not walking distance to Universal Studios and I was very pleased. Quick 7 minute drive. Staff was great! We left our luggage in the lobby on our last day. Very grateful for that. Pool area was very nice. Walking distance to a gas station mart and many restaurants. The room included a refrigerator and that is always helpful. The lobby had a great hot cocoa/ coffee machine and fresh pastries everyday! There is no usb plugs. Don’t forget your chargers!

Stayed a couple of nights at The Tangerine and had a great experience. The staff were excellent—really friendly, helpful, and made the check-in and stay super easy. The room was clean, well set up, and felt fresh. Parking was a breeze, which isn’t always the case in LA. It’s in a great location too—close to the freeways and an easy walk to some excellent restaurants, cafés, and food spots. Overall, just a great little hotel with good energy. Very convenient location and great Mexican restaurant literally next door. A lot of eatery and places to explore within walking distance or short drive. Front hotel parking lot is small, i do not recommend for large cars, you’ll be squeezing yourself out the door to not hit the one parked next to you. BUT, there is plenty of parking on street and back of hotel that has cameras. :) free daily coffee and pastries from Home boy bakery was nice. Rooms are clean, bedding covers could be better :/ staff are friendly and attentive. The neighborhood is good despite the hotel being on a busy street it was quiet. Pool is nice and small I didn’t try it but I was told it was heated which is always nice. Overall I liked it and will stay again and recommend.

We loved our time at the Tangerine! Every staff member was outstanding and the hotel created and maintained an excellent environment during our 3 day stay.

Ok location..lots of restaurants nearby but no real coffee, just an expreso machine that was not working very well and breakfast is just Danish pastry.

The Tangerine was the perfect stay. Kamal and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, providing local recommendations and ideas to explore. The Tangerine is located close to excellent dining options, transport and tourist attractions. The rooms were clean and comfortable, providing a restful place to sleep after a day out exploring. I will definitely be back.

Hotel was fine, room seemed clean. Sound proofing between rooms was good, as our kids were watching TV loudly and we couldn't hear it next door. Shower water pressure was awful, toilet paper was thin and shredded easily. The toilet is crammed between the shower and sink, very claustrophobic and you touch the toilet bowl with your legs after you shower or when brushing teeth and it's nasty. Coffee machine was great, morning pastries were a nice touch. My family used the pool but I didn't, it's right in the middle of the parking lot and center of the motel which I found exposed but may not bother others. Manager/owner was very nice during check in and out. The location has lots of places to walk to for food and felt safe - wide sidewalks and well maintained area.

They took a mid century modern motel and refurbished it. It’s central to Burbank and excellent pricing. The room was clean, updated, and had a comfy bed.

The only things that kept it from being a five star hotel was that we couldn’t get the room cool and the water pressure was really low. The people were fabulous. The bedding was amazing if we could’ve just cooled off it would’ve been perfect.

This hotel used to be a motel until it was renovated. It was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The pool area was nice too. The breakfast was in reception, but only room for 4 to sit which meant you had to carry your breakfast to your room. It was nice for a budget stay in a safe area.
