Sonesta ES Suites Raleigh Cary

One of the best overall hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I will definitely stay at Sonesta Suites again.

Really nice setting. Pool area with adjacent fire pit and grill area are nicely done amenities. Carpeting was damp with in one of the bedrooms of my suite on arrival and didn’t dry til I was ready to checkout. Perhaps it had been shampooed or deodorized?

The location was good and the breakfast was better than I had expected. I stayed in a suite. The floor plan was very well thought out making my stay a comfortable one. The kitchenette had everything we needed. The exercise room was a little small. Would have been nice to have a bicycle machine. The air conditioner was a little loud but not enough to keep me awake.

We checked in getting two rooms. The first room smelled like a chain smoker was the last guest. We went downstairs and they moved us. The second room was better Ac was cold shower had pressure but all night long there were bright flashes every minute from the smoke detector. The other room said the ac was very loud.

Same repeat breakfast every morning. Loud HVAC unit in closet in the bedroom made it impossible to sleep. Someone smoking weed in their room and stench spreading through hallways. Not as good here as it used to be.

The hotel is very good for long stay, the room we got was well equipped for a long stay family. the sofa-bed could be better to improve comfortability. The room was spacious for 4 people and many luggages. The swimming pool opened only 2 days before our departure and was raining.

This property is great to stay at. The rooms were spacious and looked like an apartment. My sons loved them, and you can't even hear your neighbors. The property has a tennis court and pool with a laundry room on every floor. Highly recommended, will stay again. There is a $250 deposit fee I wasn't aware of, but the front desk took it down to $150 for me, which was awesome.

Clean staff was excellent. Location for our purpose was excellent. We were there for a graduation so we didn’t do much but sleep in the room but I’ve stayed in similar rooms for beach vacations that weren’t any cleaner or nicer. Very impressed.

Older property with friendly staff, clean rooms, and free breakfast

The breakfast was also exactly the same every day for the 10 days we stayed there, with no variety at all. In addition, one of the male staff members who helped in the kitchen was quite rude and unfriendly. Some of the reception staff were also not welcoming and spoke to me in an unfriendly manner. That said, I would like to recognize Todd, who works at reception in the evening and night. He was always friendly, helpful, welcoming, and very pleasant to speak with. I also want to acknowledge the cleaning staff, who were very kind and helpful. In particular, there was an African American gentleman whose name I unfortunately forgot, but he was extremely polite, helpful, and friendly. Overall, while there were a few excellent staff members who made a positive impression, the overall experience was disappointing and did not meet my expectations.

We had a wonderful stay here! We stayed in a two bedroom w/ living room and kitchen. Super clean, nice amenities, and great location! Will definitely stay here again.

The firepit area was under construction so there was no access however the rest of the facility was excellent. Angela and Todd were very helpful during checking. The was an issue with our room not having accessible shower and they corrected it right away giving us an upgraded room with a walk in shower.

Very helpful and accommodating staff. Took advantage of the included breakfast. Limited selections but what we ate was good. Only disappointment was that pool had not been opened for the season even though temperatures were in the 90s in mid-April and it appeared to be in good condition/functioning.

Usually I love a Sonesta, but room 120 had the worst permeating smell. Weird, weird funky smell. Kind of gross!

I was in town for a concert at the Koka Booth Amphitheater. It was just a short walk from this property making it a very convenient place to stay. There is a beautiful walking trail nearby that would also be a great place for a run. Staff was so helpful. My room was perfect if not bigger than I needed.

It was good. The breakfast is good, but can use a refresh. Staff were very helpful and GREAT. Most front desk staff were amazingly great. Housekeeping was good. Staff overall were great in spite of one or two staff that were not hospitable. Maybe they could use more training, incentives, or new employment. I would most definitely stay at this property again!

I got a large studio room that included a small kitchenette and king sized bed. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the pillows were squishy, which I love. I slept well.

We just did an overnight stay because our beloved pet was having surgery at the ER nearby. I barely even remember the hotel...but, I do remember it was very spacious, clean and had a great kitchen area and 2 TVs.

The overall building and room accommodations were wonderful and met my expectations in terms of comfort and appearance. However, my experience with customer service was disappointing. I contacted the front desk a day in advance to inform them that I would be checking in late, yet upon arrival, the front desk attendant offered minimal engagement, simply placing a form in front of me and instructing me to “fill this out.” When I inquired about the fitness center, her response was abrupt and lacked courtesy. In addition, there were numerous takeout bags left outside guest room doors upon our arrival, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. I have stayed at this hotel brand before and have always enjoyed the rooms, but the staff at this location were not particularly welcoming. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I am unsure whether I would choose to return to this location in the future.

It was a relaxing, restful stay. Is been traveling on the road and doing quite a bit of sightseeing. Completely forgot to book a room. I got in late and the front desk service was wonderful. A very stress free check in. The room was clean. Plenty of light; overhead and lamps. As a female solo traveler I felt and was safe here at Sonesta. Definitely staying again. Thank you. Ps breakfast was hot and tasty.

Yes; it would be nice if they can provide drinking water bottles as most hotels do. Their room rates are higher than other major hotel brands and suppling water is not a big deal.

I stayed here for Thanksgiving and Christmas week 2025 and I can’t say anything negative about this hotel! This place is as advertised plus more! Breakfast is amazing, the rooms are all big and immaculately clean. It’s like staying in an apartment, and to top it off they are pet friendly! Safe area and close to everything! I will def stay here again!

Room was clean so was the hotel. The room given to us had a musty smell however they had someone come in the next day and fix it. Room service was a bit of hassle as despite requesting multiple times it wasn’t done. It has to requested one day prior for the next day. Breakfast was decent, not many options. Laundry was a bit expensive and machines weren’t functioning.

This room was prepaid and I prepaid for early check in and an upgrade. Upon checking in I was required to provide a $250 “security deposit” for the room. I was extremely annoyed since the deposit was significantly more than the room and also that I was not told in advance. If I did not pay the deposit I would have lost my prepayment. Doubt I will stay at Sonesta again

Loved that this property was pet friendly. I also appreciate the friendly staff. However Upon arrival the tv welcomed another guest. The cleanliness could have been better in the bathrooms. We had a very large roach in the kitchen area. A staff member did come and take care of it but the room was not sanitized afterwards. We had a hard time sleeping after this making our travel day extremely difficult. It was also frustrating not to be able to be in direct contact with a manager (there was not one available).

Breakfast tasted old and bland. Not only that but it was breakfast tacos EVERY SINGLE DAY. We stayed there twice within a year to visit parents near by and have just booked our next trip somewhere else because we’re tired of breakfast tacos. The pull out sofa is the most uncomfortable sofa to sit on and impossible to sleep on. You can feel every spring/wire. On our last visit there was a live cockroach in the living area which my husband kept to himself until after leaving (thank you!). It was a hassle and inconvenience to get bedding for the pull out sofa even though our reservation was for 4 with a king and pull out. Not sure how it has so many stars. It is close to a nice lake/park to walk. The “gym” had 2-3 machines and one was broken.

In the room and property itself was clean. Was hoping to spend more time by the poo,But with more than one family it became crowded very quickly. For extended stays like my family needs for vacation.We probably will not use this chain again.There were many everyday items that we were missing.

The Sonesta ES Suites Raleigh was a pleasure to stay at. Clean, comfortable spacious room, nice shower, fluffy towels, a nice breakfast and they accepted my dog at no extra cost. Lots of nice places to walk a dog as well. I would stay again.

Well it starts with Natalie Barnes the office manager and Brooke also wonderful and the assistant manager forgot his name, but he also was a great person. Those three are the best things you have in that hotel in Wilber the engineering man on the job he actually took time off of what he was doing to help me with my bag to my room when he noticed I struggled since I’m handicap like I said everyone in there was kind knew what they were talking about and at the same time treated everybody with respect kindness and there’s really not much I can say besides that’s a hell of a team that you have at that hotel the rooms were so clean the hallway smelled great not one noise you can hear in the hallway. parking lot was safe and clean. Everything was well lit just a total satisfaction of this property so a conclusion is I plan to stay there again in the future, hopefully Natalie and Brooke are there and Wilber have a great day. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in that hotel.

We received no housekeeping during our 4 day stay. On day 3, I had to strip the bed and change the sheets myself because no one came, basically did housekeeping myself even though we requested service. When I asked, I was told it had to be scheduled in advance but no one told us that at check-in. I paid to relax, not to clean the room myself. Extremely disappointed , do better, Sonesta.

Otherwise, the facility is really nice and everyone else there was quite friendly.

They make you go to the lobby to pick up the sheets and stuff for the extra bed. They don’t do daily housekeeping, you have to let them know a day before if you want them to do it.

An overall nice place to stay, with a nice breakfast selection and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. My main concern was the loud air handler inside the room, just feet from the bed, which also provided a slight vibration to the bed when it kicked on; despite that, I was able to get a pretty good night's sleep.

My friend and I were going to a concert at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre and this hotel is walkable to it. Room was huge, staff nice, place clean and very good breakfast.

Good location. This hotel is positioned as a non-smoking hotel, but in the corridors there was a strong smell of marijuana for two weeks while we lived there.

Rooms are the best. The only reason I gave it only 4/5 stars is the breakfast which was quite poor in my opinion. I was expecting something a little more special when I saw how beautiful the rooms are.

Natalie greeted us with a welcoming smile. She was pleasant and professional. The room was super clean and spacious. If I needed to stay somewhere for an extended period of time I definitely would choose a Sonesta property.

This hotel was so clean. My parents got the sweet and it was not only spacious, it was thoughtfully laid out. The staff at the front desk is always available to answer questions that they had. The area was very quiet and also very clean. I would definitely put here again.

I can’t say anything bad about this hotel. We were in town for a funeral and they let us check in early so we could get changed, they were just extra nice and very kind. Breakfast was delicious. Taco bar! Room had everything you could possibly need, we were just there on a quick trip, but I would definitely stay there again.

Front desk Staff were so friendly, full bed was clean & comfy, full size fridge. The only drawback was the sofabed mattress was flat as a pancake. Breakfast was great!

Everything about our stay was above average. The room & hotel cleanliness, pool, surrounding area, and breakfast. The only reason I gave comfort a 3 was because the queen sized bed was great but the pull out couch was terrible. A futon would have been much better. It was terrible and lumpy I wish I had taken a picture. My granddaughter tried to just sleep on the couch but there was not enough room on it for her and her child. They had to sleep on the lumpy springs in your back mattress all week.
