Hampton Inn Charleston - Daniel Island

The bathroom sink leaked, so I had to move to another room. The sheets in the second room were dirty.

Great breakfast selection, clean and well apportioned rooms and lovely location.

We booked the king suite it was very roomy and beds were very comfy. Only thing I would say is to have a bigger fridge in the room, they were like micro mini fridges. Otherwise it was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn’t too bad typical hotel complementary buffet.

There were some issues with tv not working and no coffee in the room but staff was quick to help.

Breakfast was good every day with many options. Staff all very nice. Room was clean. Room always felt a little damp, even with air on. Pool was nice. Area felt very safe and quiet. Would stay again.

I noticed the staff was willing to open the breakfast early to accommodate young baseball players. The staff was very friendly and helpful trying to make our stay more enjoyable recommending best routes and things to do.

Great hotel

I used to find Hampton Inns to be suitable places to stay. However, after staying at the one in downtown Charleston a few years ago and now this one on Daniel Island I am done. I arrived Thursday night and was departing Saturday. I was gone most of Friday and when I returned the room had not been cleaned up. I politely asked if this could be done and was informed it was only done every other day. While Daniel Island is a beautiful area this hotel has to be described as a huge disappointment. At a comparable price point I would highly recommend the Hyatt House in Mt. Pleasant over this .

The room was great and the staff was wonderful. I would however recommend new mattresses. We didn't sleep a wink. The matress was so hard it was like sleeping on the floor. :-(

The location and hotel was good for the price. When we got there after driving 15 hours with three children, we were told they over booked and did not have a room for us. A lady then came behind me and checked in and paid. When I asked how they had a room for her when she hadn’t pre paid and I did, I was told I’m sorry and they were calling their sister property to look for a room. I explained I needed one with a pull out couch because I had children. She eventually spoke to a manager and I heard her say housekeeping had not cleaned a few rooms, and she would give me someone else’s room who hadn’t checked in yet, and basically the last person to check in would be without a room. Very unorganized and someone could have just gone to clean the rooms instead of the mess that occurred.

Room was clean and staff was very nice. My only issue is the curtains. I could not sleep the first night because of the sheer curtain and outside lights. I looked for a way to close but we could not find one. The next day someone showed me that there is a third row of curtains tucked all the way back. Ridiculous!! The heavy first row of curtains should be able to close all the way!!

The room staff. upon checking in I was informed that they cleaned the rooms every other day unless requested. I immediately requested that my room be cleaned every day. In addition when I left the next morning to go out for a few hours, I informed them I wanted my room cleaned. In addition I gave them the room numbers of family members who were staying in other rooms who also wanted their rooms clean when we came back to change for dinner. None of the rooms were cleaned. . I I went down to the front desk and I told them I would like someone to come clean the rooms after four as we were changing for dinner and when I went back up, they were in my room. No one on the staff understood English as I was trying to explain to them to please come back in an hour as I needed to take a shower and change for dinner six rooms a family members that were staying there or not cleaned. It was very frustrating.

The staff was excellent. The breakfast was great, as usual. Except for certain patches on the carpet in public areas, the Hotel was very clean. I was especially impressed with the cleanliness of the staircase which people do not usually access. In our room, it appeared that at one point there might have been a leak in the room upstairs that was repaired. However, the ceiling of the bathroom was not repainted leaving flaky paint on the ceiling.

This location was close to most everything on Daniel Island. the hotel was clean, quiet, the staff was awesome. One of the more friendly hotel staffs I've dealt with. An it was everyone, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff everyone was amazing. I would highly recommend this location and will return without hesitation. As an honors member I would be grateful to get credit for stays booked on an alternate site.

The level of service was amazing. The hotel room’s sink would not drain and they changed our room right away. Frank from front desk was very courteous, and texted throughout the stay. Breakfast staff kept area clean and well stocked. Bottled water available on request was very helpful. We had a late checked out, and forgot a few hanging items. Called later that evening they located them and we were able to retrieve them. This hotel and its staff gave excellent service. Not often found these days.

The service at the front desk was excellent - both at check in and on departure! We were only there to sleep for two nights while we moved our daughter into her new apartment. The kindness shown to us was an added bonus as we were totally exhausted. We left at 2 a.m. to make the long drive back to Illinois, and the front desk person was so kind - even gave us bottled water for our trek! The room was clean and comfortable as well.

Warmly greeted by Fred, the employee who checked me in. The room was clean. Parking was good. No complaints.

When searching to see if there were more bugs, to see if there was debris from possible bed bugs, we found old liquor bottles and moldy skittles. At breakfast, the attendant dropped tongs on the floor, picked them up and put them directly back on the counter. I asked him if he was going to replace them and he acted like I was crazy. He ultimately didn’t replace them. Needless to say we opted to not eat the breakfast. This is not Hilton hotel quality and we will not be backs

Room seemed very clean. The faucet in the tub/shower needs some work. Also, a tub mat should be provided as the tub is very slippery. We are older/seniors and it was a bit uncomfortable in the shower without a mat. The toilet seat also was loose. We reported this to the front desk upon check-out. The staff were terrific and very courteous and helpful. We would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn Charleston-Daniel Island in the future!

The room was clean. Although there was a black long hair on a towel though. There was a dryer drying a rug in front of a room across the hall that was loud on the first night. There was a mosquito in our room and a spider on the ceiling the first night too. Other than that, the room was clean. The staff at the front desk and the woman working the breakfast our first morning were all very nice and very friendly. The gym was fun but the water cooler didn’t work. The area is lovely around the hotel.

I love staying at this Hampton Inn should be the model for all Hampton Inn’s! Clean rooms, comfortable beds & pillows and decent amenities. Not fancy just safe, clean & comfy. Breakfast bar is decent, good selection and clean. Parking is plentiful and easy. You can walk to most shopping and dining on Daniel’s Island. Great place if your seeing a concert on Daniel’s Island or attending an event.

The breakfast was good. Parking was easy. I have been staying here for the last 4 years when i travel to Charleston. Perfect location and Daniels island though getting very crowded still has great spots for dinning and walking.

The walk in shower is poorly designed. Water sprayed outside of the shower. Just a mess really. There was mold around the grab bars and shower tiles. The tile around the shower drain was cracked. No ventilation system in the bathroom. Carpet was dirty. Sheets are stiff. Our room was close to the elevator, so very noisey. Won't stay here again.

Great hotel! I’m glad we decided to spend a little extra and stay close to Credit One Stadium for the concert because it was worth it. It was within walking distance to the stadium, as well as the restaurants nearby. Plus, the customer service was excellent and the room was very clean. They allowed us to check-in an hour early, and the rooms have very large TVs in them (important to my husband) with the ability to login to your streaming accounts, as well as mini fridges. The bed is of normal comfort, and the AC gets really cold (important to me). We didn’t get a chance to use the pool or fitness center but they looked really nice. The breakfast had good variety and was well stocked. Would definitely stay here again if there’s another concert at Credit One Stadium in our future!

Fine place with comfy beds and kind staff. Our room was a bit smelly and it looked like mold was growing on the ceiling.

Both employees at the front desk were so friendly, kind and helpful. The room was very clean and quiet. Linens were nice, and the bed was super comfortable. Didn’t really like the barn door style closure for the bathroom but no big deal. Everything else more than made up for that. The free breakfast was amazing. As an early riser, I really appreciate coffee being available super early.

It was okay. I got a call confirming our arrival and was told I could check in early on the app. Tried to do it only to find out since we booked 3rd party we couldn't when we went into the hotel. Then while I was talking to the lady on the phone she said our room most likely would be ready if we got there early. Got there early and it wasn't ready. Was told it would be ready in 15 minutes and 45 minutes went by and still wasn't ready. Then I got told oh well check in actually isn't till 4 so it was closer to the actual time so they weren't late. Even though the lady that called me at 2 told me that it was pretty much done and it would be okay to come in early. Then we finally got our room and went to put some food in the fridge and the door fell right off. Also the bed wasnt comfortable at all. Despite the fact that the location was close to where we were having to go it wasn't the best Hampton I stayed it

Staff was friendly and helpful. I booked a room with 2 queen beds but was given a room with 1 king bed. They changed it quick and all was good.

Stayed on 2nd floor this trip. One our rooms had water leaking from AC unit on the floor. Was called back to the hotel at 6 pm, saying that our dogs were barking. They do not constantly bark at anything so highly doubt it was our dogs. We came back and took the dogs with us. The next morning as I was headed downstairs for breakfast, I heard another dog barking so think that was the actual dog barking the evening before.

Being offered another room would have been nice but they are offering $25 refund and never offered for me to change rooms. They did offer points but will not stay at a Hilton again so points are not of use to me. I will say that they did have a nice continental breakfast And the pool area was clean and evening staff and morning staff was kind. Maybe this was just an unlucky experience but I feel like with the money we paid for this room the experience should have been better.

Adults were unable to use swimming pool because of 8 children made it undesirable. It’s a small pool so with a bunch of loud, excited kids isn’t designed for adults who would actually like to swim. Front desk offered no solutions.

This place is great, they leave little gift bags for you and have a great breakfast! Have a QR code for tipping cleaning staff which is super helpful.

The room was damp and had a wet dog smell. Expired , low level snacks in vending. Good breakfast . Great location to go to Credit one stadium for show. Pool was out of order but arrangements to use neighboring property's pool.

The property was very convenient for our purposes and everyone was very courteous and helpful. One thing was, the hotel only changes towels and sheets every other day of your stay. We were there two nights and did not get maid service so had to arrange emptying our garbage and make our own bed (I called Guest Services and was told to leave our garbage outside our room, however, it wasn't picked up so I had to empty it on my own in a garbage unit where the ice machine was. A guest should not need to do that!) and did not get clean towels! When you pay close to $550 to stay at hotel for two nights, I expect a clean up in the room. It all worked out, but I think the policy is not a good one. We were also told we could not get a room receipt upon check out because we booked through Expedia! I don't understand that! All in all, the hotel was lovely. It was convenient, clean, and breakfast as good. We would stay at the Hampton Inn-Daniel Island again. It was convenient for our purposes!

It was a great hotel to stay to access all of Charleston had to offer. We went to a concert at the Credit One arena and it was walking distance. However they had a free shuttle to and from the concert. Easy drive to downtown and our new favorite place is Shem Creek. Great restaurants and sunsets.

The hotel was doing water line maintenance and I ended up without use of water for 2 days of my stay. It was highly inconvenient and unsanitary.

The hotel has a very pleasing atmosphere brought on by the amazing person at the check in. The room is very well organized and clean. The outside felt safe and the parking had easy access to the hotel.

It seemed like an old style hotel with a large lobby not the typical Roadside motel. It was a little more luxurious than I thought it would be, which is a good thing. Plus I loved their breakfast.

The hotel was great, though they put me in a room with a single bed and I had to switch rooms halfway through my trip to have the two beds I booked. They also charged my credit card for the stay that I booked through Expedia and it has not yet been refunded.

I reserved and paid for King Size room, but they gave a room with 2 queen size bed The gave excuse was that they had too many guests. Why didn't they give the 2 Queen size bed to those guests. I was treated unfairly.

Everything was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and close to everything. The front drsk was amazing both am and pm shift. Roberta in the breakfast area was so kind and friendly. The only thing my husband didn't like the barn door on the bathroom. He likes his privacy. Other then that it was amazing.

They never cleaned our room. Was confirmed they would one morning only to arrive back at night and it wasn’t. The front desk was not helpful, and better understanding that only a Tesla charger is on-site, would have made the hotel more accomodating.

This property is in a perfect location for my visits to the Charleston/Daniel Island area. Easy access to the highway and only a few minutes from downtown Charleston and the area beaches..

The hotel lobby and breakfast area was nice. We came in at 6 PM and the hot water and the coffee were cold. One of the reasons we like to stay at Hampton Inn is for the hot coffee and hot water 24/7. When I mentioned this to the person at the desk, she went and got me a cup of hot water. What she should have done was replace the coffee and the hot water. Also, the woman in the breakfast area had long red hair that should’ve been pulled back into a ponytail. She was around the food, replacing things. But she was very nice. The pool was green and murky, and there’s no way I would’ve gone in it!

We stay at this hotel often because our son lives nearby. I have always enjoyed the breakfast and the beds are very comfortable.

Room was not clean. Asked for a baby crib and was brought a pack and play covered in another child’s old spit up. My husband also cut his foot on a piece of glass that was in the carpet. Nothing was done for any of the issues.

Upon arriving, our initial room had problems, but we were promptly relocated and everything was fine - a shower curtain was missing, but, a replacement was provided.

My big complain is the bathroom shares a "barn door" with the closet. This leaves a sizeable gap between the door and door frame. If you are traveling with someone and don't need them seeing or hearing you in the bathroom, this is an absolute deal breaker. Who in their right mind designed and approved this?
