    The rooms were disgusting, the other guest around the hotel had no respect for themselves, others, or the staff. Don’t get me started on how people treated the hotel building itself. This place is run down in a part of the city that should be maintained and managed by people who care about their environment. If I could give zero stars for this hotel I would. Almost $100 for absolute dog water.

    The staffing, the cleanliness, the manners, the side door being open all the time for visitors without keys, thin walls, bathrooms are very dingy, the breakfast bar is terrible, I’ve seen numerous amount of roaches. Bad quality for the pricing!

    They gave me a room that one man had lived in for years. You can't miss it . The tub and the sink were dingy dirty. I watched "NOT WITHOUT HOPE" to remove his hold on the room. I have a sense of humor. Upon check in, this black female with one lovely waist high canine checked in breaking in line directly behind me. She had the room three doors down. She was challenging me to her youthful spirit game of who is paying for this. Since she was given a double room, if she wished to stay longer, she would have to change rooms. She did not see the light very well. My sense of humor for the first night consists of canine advertising until I believe the canine had gone to sleep on it's own bed. Who cares about her. Then Robert Downey Junior standing by the back door where the alarm sounds off followed Gweneth Palthrow in to accept one canine was in. End of discussion. The excitable air left that day around high noon.

    The hotel had roaches. The roaches were so bad that I had slept in my vehicle in the parking. I talked to the receptionist the next morning because no-one answered the phone when I tried to reach out to them the night before. After talking to the receptionist and calling Hotels.com to get my money back, the General Manager, said that because they didn't have any record of me calling them about the roach issue, that they'll give me a refund for 2 out of the 3 nights, instead off all 3 nights. I explained to the receptionist that I shouldn't be charged for the 1st night because I never slept in the roach infested room. They were going to offer me another room, but why would I want another room if the building is infested with roaches. Their were roaches in the lobby as well.

    Do not stay here!! It smells like a dispensary, the screens are falling off the windows, it is dirty to the point that my family left and I booked another room immediately. Still trying to get my money back. Learn from my mistake, this place is absolutely disgusting and the scariest part was how unsafe it is for families.

    My door was hard to close and open and the blinds had a rust or blood stain on it. The AIR CONDITION DIDN'T WORK AND IT PUMPED OUT DUSTED HOT AIR WHICH MADE ME SICK. It had poor ventilation in our room and the snack room which is.the laundry room to hot.

    I didn’t like anything. I didn’t like there was roaches in the room multiple little bugs coming out the wall. Might I add the first room they gave me wasn’t even cleaned there was a pink rag hanging over the shower like someone had just checked out the room. The smell of the hotel was not pleasant.     The hotel seemed like it was a long-term housing for people, The hotel smelt like smoke all throughout. The front staff was not the cleanest looking person. Our shower still had hair in it, missing the toilet paper holder. There was only muffin and granola bars for breakfast. No one at the front when we checked out in the am.

    This place smells disgusting. It’s dirty in common areas. The room itself was not well cleaned either. There was a roach in the shower. Alive. They didn’t have a blow dryer available at the front desk. The staff could care less about customer service. Had I known this property was more on the “motel living” side of things I never would have booked it.

    Staff is great. Under new management and they are trying to change things. Cleanliness needs improvement. Had plaster dust in the vents of the AC and blew dust all over the place. Found and killed 2 roaches. Everything else was cool.

    Light bulb was missing in one of the lights by the bed. In the shower the faucet to run hot and cold water was loose, as well as faucet in the bathroom sink. They should be tightened for the next guest. There was no breakfast but that did not matter since i don't eat breakfast

    There were roaches in our room. There were bugs on the ceiling. The walls weren’t clean. You could tell where people killed bugs and didn’t clean it up. The drawers were broken. You can tell this hotel is very old. The outlets were pulled out of the socket and so were the sprinklers on the ceiling the staff were nice, but as far as overall experience, I would not stay here again

    Katrina and Nyoka always made me feel welcome and heard when checking in and confirming my reservation extensions. No issues besides some other guest staying here but you can’t fault the company for who books a room. Everything was fine besides the bugs in the room. I found myself spraying down the room like a routine pest control work everyday if not twice a day only for the problem to get about 70% better. Being exposed to the pest prolonged gave my soupse rashes on his back and armszz

    Nothing was right. The room that they tried to put us in, room 240 had a leaking sink in the bathroom that flooded the floor. The front desk moved us to move 119 and that room had roaches. They then moved us once again to room 115, that also had roaches. We stayed until it was time to check out but refused to eat anything or bring anything back like food items to the room for fear that something would come out of the woodwork and attack. Nice location but i wasn't feeling the fact that it was just a hot mess. I am going to request a discount or refund for my time and suffering. I tried talking with the front desk about the condition of the room and they told me that i had to talk with the third party company that booked my stay with The Extended Stay which was "Booking.com. We drove from Macon Georgia for a tailgate party for the Dallas Cowboys and didn't want anyone in our room because of the roach problem that we was having. Ive stayed at a Extened Stay before and have never had to deal with roaches or un clean hall ways. The property was a nice location and was close to everything. I don't know why we stayed but tried to make the most of it. I would love to visit Charlotte again in the future just don't think ill be staying at "The Extended stay on University I didn't like the fact that it had roaches and the hallway could of been cleaner. I have an actual video of the roaches running everywhere but i couldn't download it to your website ☹️

    Made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe due to people yelling in hallways at all hours of the night, people just sitting in the cars and if I wasn’t with my husband and dogs I would feel unsafe and would be a little scared to be honest…there was pee in the stairwells, people smoking in stairwells…police were there and when we told the lady at the front about the pee she acted like she didn’t care and when we told her about people being loud all she said was “ you can call the cops” we will never be going back there again…our pillows and washcloths were dirty and floor was dirty

    We had a great first impression of the hotel. When we woke the next morning we experienced a severe roach problem. Two crawled on the bed, one up the wall, and several on the floor. We brought it to the desk manager’s attention and showed her photos of those we killed. She verbally apologized but I didn’t feel a sense of urgency to resolve this issue.

    The elevator was very noisy. During the night I hear very loud rumbling noises in the hallway the woke and kept me up. Must have been the elevator. I found a couple bugs in the bathroom the next morning. In general, things just didn't seem very well maintained (in room and common areas). The grab and go breakfast options was very sparce--just a few muffins and granola bars--much less than I've seen at other Extended Stay America hotels. It was only a single night stay over for me and my son, so not a huge impact, but I would not stay here again with my family.

    Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. But on the way to the room, we noticed a really awful smell, like sewage. Luckily our room did not smell. Although the bathroom was clean, it felt severely outdated and there were mold stains in the ceiling. One of the bed side lamp’s bulb was out. There was a corner chair that was very dirty and stained so we couldn’t use it. The beds were super comfortable and clean.

    Not as advertised, room had to be changed due to cleanliness and issues. Claimed to be undergoing construction but that was not listed on the site. Poor lighting leading up to hotel.     The rooms were clean and the staff was nice/ friendly. My only problem I was concerned about the people walking in and out of the hotel. One man approached my daughter and asked to use her phone because he was trying to reach somebody in the hotel and the hotel wouldn’t let him use the phone.

    When my husband and I checked in, there were people sitting on the floor in the hallway. Many of the guests were very loud. As it was late, we decided we would give it a try anyway. We got to our room and immediately found 3 cockroaches in less than 5 minutes! I called Hotels.com to get out of this stay and was promised a full refund. The front desk clerk promised a full refund as we were leaving. Extended Stay now says it is their policy to charge for at least one night so after only 5 minutes, we are out that money, plus we had to pay to stay elsewhere. Besides the cockroaches, the room was dirty, paint was chipped off the walls, the wood furniture was banged up badly. This hotel is not even worth the 1 star I had to give it since 0 stars was not an option.

    I just want to know honestly who approved for this ROACH INFESTED hotel to still be standing ! Stayed here for 3 nights and within the first 8 hours was READY TO GO! The rooms were dirty. The entire staff other than CRYSTAL (hope I spelled it right) was HORRIBLE ! Me and my family had to switch rooms within our stay because of the roaches. The hallways smell like piss and a lot of other unmentionables. This was definitely not worth $350 . More like $40 a night! I do not recommend this hotel for anyone ! DO BETTER

    Not as advertised! The ice in front of the lobby was not salted and thus very unsafe. Front desk receptionist was unsupported and overworked by management to the point of rudeness. There was no breakfast offered, free or otherwise, and no refund offered after not providing the advertised service. No cups, ice, or other amenities except for soap & towels - even though there was a full kitchenette. Bed mattress was worn out so I constantly felt as if I would roll off the side. Kitchen counter and walls needed repairs. And, we were charged a $150 deposit, for which I expect a full refund, even though I specifically selected this hotel since it did not say it had this practice. We could have stayed across the street for a better price and better service. If the room hadn't looked clean, we would have left.

    I never leave reviews I stayed here just for 1 night immediately seen a roach on the dresser, front desk lady was never is at the receptionist always in the back, man sleeping in lobby, no hot breakfast just granola bars muffin & coffee, heat didn’t work in my room needed a quick place to sleep so not to upset but wouldn’t stay here for longer than 1 night

    Overall room was clean. But, management needs to inspect each room after someone leaves. In my room the leather faux recliner need to be replaced, it was cracked. Also the ironing board was broken, it wouldn't stand up.

    Friendly staff. However when we arrived there were several police and obvious issue going on. We are from 13 hours away so asked what was going on. Said nothing. Then as they brought someone out on Handcuffs the staff member swore and then said they couldn’t tell us anything. Had to be professional they said. Well that was not possible now. We decided once that was all over we would see the room etc first, which was fine. No further sissies and the area was beautiful and very convenient. Said they had breakfast but there was nothing, and no coffee in room or anything. Also still Waiting for my security deposit to be refunded.

    First room I was there 45 mins before roach showed up. Moved to a second room with hair in the shower. All they could offer was another room but I was overwhelmed. Ended up cleaning it myself. Activity is suspicious. Didn’t feel too safe, definitely have to stay mindful. Definitely don’t recommend solo travel here.

    They don't have ice machines on the premises. The hallways and the rooms all have a very distinct pretty nasty smell. The telephone did not work unless I pressed speaker to talk to the front desk. And to extend my stay was an absolute nightmare. I booked through expedia and was Was told they would email the hotel letting them know. I don't need to check out. But they continuously knocked and called telling me. I had to come downstairs to book, even though I had proof that I had already paid

    As soon as you walk into the lobby it smells like Weed. All the halls and elevators smell like it to. Don’t understand why places like this allow illegal drug use. On their property. Room was in ok condition but did kill a small roach as it ran across the floor by the bed. Was a late check in or I would have stayed elsewhere. But for over 100 a night I expected a clean drug free place and this is far from it

    I traveled to Charlotte two weekends in a row to do the NASCAR Driving Experience. We traveled from the Tidewater area of Virginia. We arrived close to midnight both weeks. Late check in went well and the night desk clerk was very nice... The rooms were clean and well maintained. I would stay there again.

    There were other cheaper hotels in the same area, but I went with this middle priced hotel to be safer. Was 112 bucks compared to 60 or 80 in the same area. When we got back to our hotel at night time after our event, there were many different sized roaches all over the walls and floor, toilet seats and nightstands at night time, among other different types of bugs as well. My girlfriend was horrified. I'll never come back here. We were up all night dealing with this so we never got good sleep. However, I innitially asked the clerk who checked us in for a late checkout, he said yes no problem and wrote some notes in the computer system about it. The next day at normal checkout time we were woken up by housecleaning (after the roaches finally went away once the sun came out so we could actually get some sleep) and told there are no notes, and we will be charged for a whole other day if we didn't leave right away. This place is awful!!

    First the young man at the front desk couldn't find my reservation, but after 5 minutes of confusion when he turned the screen to me my name was sitting right there in plain sight. Finally checked in and given a room on the 3rd floor we're told the hotel elevator is broken. I have bad knees, but fine. We get up to the room and the bathroom is dirty. Tub is completely filthy and the bedding stinks. We went to Walmart to get bathroom cleaner and disinfectant spray. We also kept having issues with the room keys not working, but it seemed to be happening to a lot of the guests. Overall it's a poorly maintained hotel where the employees are obviously doing the bare minimum to get by.

    When I called, I was told elevator was working. Elevator has not been working for over a month. Got to room, it was dirty and smoke alarm had been ripped off the ceiling. We left immediately and did not come back. Will never recommend.

Then said few rooms, but dirty and housekeeper gone..It was busy concert weekend and couldnt find other accommodations.     This was a literal roach motel. Our first room hadn’t been cleaned, there was trash on the floor, and it smelled like cat urine. They moved us to another room. When I went into the bathroom and turns on the lights roaches scattered. There were also roaches crawling on the AC unit. There were holes in the wall and burn marks on the counter. If I weren’t completely exhausted I would have driven the 3 hours home. I slept with the lights on hoping to keep the bugs away. This property should not be on Hotels.com it is disgraceful. The staff was polite and kind.

    My one night stay at this property was disappointing. I had been traveling many hours, and when I arrived, there was no restroom that I could use while checking in. The facility overall has not been maintained and kept clean. Once in my room, I found a bathroom that was not very clean, a stale smoke odor, and a refrigerator that was old and stained. Disgusting!

    The room smelled of cigarettes and I smelled it the entire week I stayed. The Hotel should NOT be listed on this site as it has become an apartment of sorts. I was checked out early and room key given to someone else trying to get in my room. I was then RE-Charged after spending 800 to stay for the week. It was by far the worst experience I've had staying at a hotel and the sad part is I won't get any reimbursement for the mess I had to deal with.

    They almost didn’t have a room available, luckily even though we booked on here they had ONE left. The hotel was less than appealing on the outer exterior. A bit dingy. The foyer and customer service area were clean and smelled nice due to the constant chemicals from air fresheners. Then, you leave the lobby and as soon as you turn to the hallway..the STENCH. Thankful there is no carpet in the rooms themselves, because if there was carpet and it were to smell like the hallway, I would’ve found another hotel.

    The manager was very welcoming on our arrival, however, our stay went downhill from there. The hallway entry way to our room was littered with debris and had to be vacuumed. The bathroom sink had stains and would not drain properly. The bar soaps had no lather and were very dry. On check-out there was no staff at the desk, we waited a while before a clerk showed up stating he was the only staff in the building. Needless to say, I will not be staying here for future visits.

    Advertised as extended stay, but no kitchen supplies—no silverware, plates, cups, pots or pans. No luggage cart, no ice, no coffee, and nobody at the desk most of the time. Worst of all the fire alarm went off 4 times starting at 4:30 am, had to stand outside til the fire department cleared the building. All false alarms.

    My friends and I stayed here for one night after a concert. The floor looked clean but my socks told me another story; however, it wasn’t disgusting . . . just could’ve used a good once over with a swiffer or steam mop. The phone did not work and the air conditioner was a little noisy. I will say that the beds were comfortable.This is not somewhere I would want to stay long term but it was fine for one night after a concert.

    Our room had mold growing on the bathroom ceiling and exposed wiring in the bedroom where the missing smoke detector should have been. The entire hotel smelled like cigarette smoke despite being a no-smoking hotel. The hallways were littered with food and crumbs. The hotel locked its doors at 11 pm for security, but several of the doors either didn't shut and lock or were left propped open.

    The only thing unique was how disgusting it was. Ive never in my life stayed at a place so unclean. We where willing to move hotels without a refund but unfortunately all in the area where booked up. Also witnessed about 7 other groups get told they didnt have a room for them even though the people had reserved rooms. The check in did not start at 3 pm as we where told. There was music coming from a room by the front desk that you could here all the way down the hall way.

    This property is absolutely overrated on Travelocity. This was the worst stay in the past several years. On Travelocity, it said the breakfast is included but it gave us just coffee and some trek bars. No other foods. No seats. This should not be regarded as "breakfast". It should be said just "snacks". So, my family had to go to a diner nearby. The room did not have a sofa nor coffee table. The bathtub didn't have a drain stopper, so I had to use a towel as a stopper. There was no information about the hotel amenities. The TV didn't show NBC, so we couldn't watch the NFL Sunday Night Football. There were a couple of dog poops in the stairways though these were cleaned an hour or so later. And, this may not be the problem of the hotel, but I couldn't check in first. The staff said the payment wasn't confirmed though I booked it through Travelocity. The credit card that I used to book it was recently replaced by the card company. That might cause this issue. Anyway, the staff told me to call Travelocity to solve this issue but I couldn't find a telephone number on my itinerary on the Travelocity web site. Later, the staff said it was solved somehow, so I was able to check in finally. So, bad experience with the hotel and Travelocity. I have been a great customer to Travelocity for many years but I may need to change my default travel service provider.
