Clean bathroom & carpet, carpet too sticky. Breakfast pretty good
- 2/5
Room was very dirty!! Shower didn’t look like it was cleaned whatsoever, the bathroom door wouldn’t even close correctly do to it being broken. The night stand had something spilled on it, the phone didn’t even work at first. Definitely won’t be staying here again.

Great staff, very helpful and accommodating. Location was Central to everything I needed to get to in Charlotte. Great place to stay and a great value.

The check-in was less than six minutes. Very smooth. The room was nice and clean and very cool. The breakfast the next morning was very good. The whole day was excellent.
- 4/5
Every one was nice
- 3/5
It was ok but the carpet was sticky and gross and overall just not clean. Definitely bring sandals or something to walk on in the room. Felt very dirty. But it was cheap so I guess that's what you get.
- 2/5
The property was dated, the night staff didn’t want to provide a roll of tissue, they don’t offer pack-n-play. They have made up rules that they call “policy” but when you ask for a copy or we link, they cannot produce. It’s not worth the money
- 5/5
Everything was perfect no complaints here
- 2/5
I like the location It was very noisy. You could hear everything in our floor and above. I was supposed to had a disability room but wasn’t

Definitely a 2 star hotel. Staff was great. But the hotel was very poor. Trash still in my room from previous guests. Stains in the walls, remote control was missing batteries, etc.

We had a bed to sleep in. Lack of attention to the conditions of the room, furniture, and utilities. Paint peeling in several places, broken furniture, outlets that didn't work. The interior bathroom door needs maintenance. Breakfast was minimal at best, no selection for diet continuous food.

We had a one night stay while traveling from Miami to New York. Check in was quick and easy. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean with the essentials needed. The included breakfast was good. We would definitely stay again.

Very dated, fairly clean, close to the event we were attending.
- 2/5
The first evening going into room was ok. The next 2 days ask for cleanup didn’t get it.Did request Thursday and Friday was told was on the list and when came back in evening time it wasn’t done. No towels no trash change was told again last night would be today (check out day). When spoke to someone tdy I was asked why I didn’t say something before I did inform her I did. Also there was snacks, food, personal stuff in one of the drawers which I didn’t notice because don’t use. I was question on that also why I waited 3 days. The breakfast was kind of ok 1 day but you may have better service at homeless shelter. I did get 1 day credited back to me and was told again it will be clean today. Which again I was leaving tdy
- 4/5
The first room we were assigned wasn’t up to our standards. However, the front desk immediately apologized and changed our room and that room was really nice! The 24 hour coffee bar was a delight and I would choose to stay here again!

Not a thing, the genius rating is total BS, who would give this place a good review. Never again The place is nasty, the first room had an open beer bottle on the window over the AC after it was supposed to be cleaned. The facilites are wored out, the faucet was leaking just by opening the valve. The shower waa filled with mold, disgusting to even consider showering. The entire floor smelled like pot, so the non snoking rules does not apply to Marijuana as far as i know. The floor was noose at all times, even in the middle of the might. This hotel looks like a place for drug dealers amd pot heads. Do not go to this place. Never again will take into consideration the geniois rsying because it is all amdr up.

The location to where we had to go was good. There was a lot of weed being used because we could smell it in our room and in the hallway☹️ The shower door broken.

I liked the water pressure from the shower head. The bed sheets were dirty and smelled like someone's saliva. I took pictures of the bed spread that had blood stain or something on them. The minute I enterer the room, it smelled like a man's colonge over cigarette or something.

The staff was the only good about the property There were broken remotes, broken desk chair, broken armoire, bathroom was dingy it felt unclean. There was a full evening of screaming and hitting in the hallway and it felt unsafe.

Location We have never been asked for a $100 cash deposit. It was insulting and made no sense. The room wasn’t even checked before we left?

Thanks to Kristi, I had a place to stay in a time of need. This hotel will always be the hotel I choose when I come visit NC! Great staff waffles were good also!
- 4/5
The mid shift front desk person (Michelle) was and is amazing. Super helpful and always available to help with anything I needed.
- 2/5
I wasn’t mugged Small, run down, electric outlets didn’t work, smells bad and was expected to pay $100 in cash (no card) for a deposit, which was never even mentioned on initial booking.
- 5/5
Easy check in. Our room was already for us. Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms and well supplied for your needs. Great water pressure.
- 4/5
Easy check in-out, clean room, comfortable bed, good location, friendly staff.
- 2.5/5
The location of the hotel Half of our group had to change rooms due to mold in the room they were originally put in. The other half of the group found trash in multiple places in their room upon arrival. The hotel itself is not worth the price that is charged.
- 2.5/5
Probably one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. One side of the bed felt like it was sinking in.

- 1/5
Noone was working the front desk when I checked in. The shower leaked which was clearly causing mold to grow in the bathroom. Hot water was hit or miss. The air conditioner only worked sometimes and was extremely loud. Some of the lights were also not operational. The floor was clearly not vacuumed for awhile. I will not be booking here again. This was not an ideal stay for the price.
- 5/5
Breakfast was minimal typical hotel sausage and eggs, cook your own waffles, mixed yogurt, cereal and breads. Good coffee. very limited selection.
- 3/5
Was in town for a Bridge Tournament. The hotel was convenient, but was quite dated and tired. Breakfast was below average and everything in the room was quite old and in its last legs
- 4/5
Pretty alright
- 1/5
I do want to say the customer service was excellent. When I first pulled up it was about 10 homelessness people gathered together. I got my room it was a guy standing outside yelling, clearly in drugs. The rooms wasn’t clean, it was crumbs on the covers. I didn’t feel safe at all.
- 2.5/5
Breakfast was ok. There was a smell in the lobby and dining area that smelled like propane. I mentioned it to the person so the desk the night we checked in. She didn't think there was a leak. The smell was still there when we left. There was a different smell on the second floor we stayed on. These were not good smells and affected my breathing. The room could have been cleaner. There was no guide for the TV or note to tell you what channel the guide was on.
- 2/5
Not the fault of the hotel, but there was a shirtless, shoeless man shuffling around outside who wandered into the lobby as we arrived. I'm not sure if he, or others with nowhere else to go are often there, but the hotel didn't seem to be in a great area. I will say that the front desk staff were very pleasant and greeted us immediately when we entered. But the property itself is rather disgusting.
- 0.5/5
Bad area, drug addicts all outside of the premises. Interior of the rooms very outdated. I left 3 hours into my staff.
- 4/5
It’s was a chill area to stay
- 4.5/5
The breakfast was very good, with pancakes and all that would be expected of a buffet breakfast. The room was not fancy but totally clean and comfortable. The location is good. The Soul Food restaurant next door was good and easy.It was a good deal for the price.
- 5/5
My daughters liked the hotel, the only bad thing was at check in Hotels.com did NOT send the verification for room reservation/payment and it was CROWDED in a town with trafficking and my girls were NOT safe and had to wait 3 hours for their room. Also, if you could keep in mind gluten free/sugar free options that'd be great for breakfast. Great stay once they got in.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 3/5
I got my room in the fifth floor I was disappointed the smell of weed was so strong I!!! I could smell it in the hallway!!
- 3/5
Good for 1 or 2 nights. The hotel could use some renovations, dirty carpets and stuff like that.
- 5/5
Comfy, clean and great location for places to eat and the concert was only 2 miles away at PNC
- 1/5
Booked this location by mistake and IMMEDIATELY asked hotels.com to cancel the booking so i could book a hotel closer to my relatives in Charlotte, NC. The hotel REFUSED to grant the refund for a room i never used. Less than 45 minutes old reservation, it was early in the day and it wasn't hurting the hotel for me to cancel. There are many other choices in hotels, stay away from anything owned by Choice because they do not give a rats ass about the customer, that includes YOU.
- 2/5
the hotel is renovated old building but still showed ware that could easily be address, ie. shower lever missing, rust on metal bath surfaces, shower wand deteriorated, shower light/tub inop, a/c unit separating from the mounting. As a non-smoking establishment the smell of cigarettes was ever present in the hall and the room somewhat. I opened the window for an hour to flush the air out and I discovered a cigarette butt in the window slide track. I will consider this my last choice for future visits to the Charlotte university city area. Staff was courteous, and professional.
- 5/5
Great Place!
- 3/5
The room was clean for an older hotel but did not smell good. Every time I left the room, the hallway smelled of weed.
- 5/5
Nice. Just slept after concert.
- 4/5
The process of checking in went smoothly. However my bathroom was not cleaned. There was an open soap left in the bathroom.
- 1/5
Dirty
- 2/5
The carpet was so dirty that we had to go buy slippers our first night because our white socks had turned a gross shade of brown after walking on it for a couple of hours. Pretty sure there was some blood on our bathroom door. The sink was leaving from the base of the faucet. Our whole floor smelled like a mix of stale tobacco and weed smoke. But no bed bugs and it was cheap and quiet enough so sleep! Staff were nice and there was plenty of parking.
- 5/5
Our stay here was great! Friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast, easy check in and out.
- 3/5
Also, there were some very loud guests who decided to have a party at the pool just below our room window at about 3am.

- 4/5
The pool is in an incredible condition, and the area around is filled with things to do.
- 3/5
The room wasn’t as insulated from noise as well as we are use to. We heard a few colorful conversations from outside. The hotel staff adequately shared their safety procedures and I think they do a great job. The hotel itself and the staff were fine. We may have just attended on a weekend with others who are just louder than we are use to.
- 1/5
People smoke drugs everywhere and bed bugs on beds
- 2/5
kid making loud noise and running in hallway at 2am
- 4/5
ProseThe location was great the train is a short walk away there are many restaurants in walking distance also a pharmacy the breakfast was fair cons they ran out of syrup but they did have some the next morning they only had one egg option witch was scrambled no boiled also there is a Walmart shopping center a three minutedrive
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
It was really good
- 4/5
Location and staff were very pleasant
- 5/5
Uncomfortable bed everything is old mattress is falling apart
- 1/5
Second room smelled heavily like smoke. Even though the hotel claims to be smoke free we found some ash on the window board - smell was everywhere (furnitures, carpet, walls - everywhere). Asked for a new room and finally got one that didn’t smell. Had some restless nights because someone was arguing in the middle of the night in front of my room for hours. Walls are thin and the hotel is not the cleanest. Staff was okay. Breakfast did not look nice so we went out for breakfast. Will never book with SleepIn again - worst hotel experience ever and an imposition for families with small kids - no thank you.
- 2/5
Had a melding mildew order through out the place too much money 4 that ,plus had a lot of odd people staying 4 that kind of money
- 4/5
I had room 513. There is a spot in the floor by the desk where the floor is rotted under the carpet. I could feel the wood give when I stepped on it. No one was at the desk when we checked out so could not tell anyone.
- 3/5
The bedding was clean along with the bathroom but everything else’s in the room needed wiped down. The outside of the fridge was dirty. A simple wipe down would’ve made my stay better!
- 4/5
Satisfied with my stay! I arrived several hours early and they accommodated my early check-in, which was a life-saver since I was exhausted. The room was clean, breakfast was pretty good, and hotel was in walking distance to several food options. Only disappointment was the floors in room felt like they could've been cleaned a bit better, racks for towel was unstable, paint in room needed a proper touchup, and pool was under-maintenance. Other than that, price was very good for a weekend where most hotels were fully booked throughout town.
- 3/5
Location was good. Had a bad smell everywhere. People were nice.
- 3/5
Pool was drained and furniture was well wornbut everything was clean. A little outdated by today's standard. Biggest complaint was lack of noise isolation. we could hear everything going on outside our room.
- 1/5
Too noisy, not great maintenance and cleaning.
- 3/5
Stayed for a concert and getting there was super quick and easy and convenient! The building was definitely older and had a few issues (the bathroom door was off and would stick/wouldn’t open after you pulled it shut) but overall, not a bad trip!
- 2/5
The room was dirty, with sticky places on the carpet and hairs on the bedding. The bathroom door was a pocket door that was stuck inside the wall, could not be closed. We reported that to head of housekeeping, who happened to be in the hall. No one ever came to look at that issue. One outlet in the entire room worked, the coffee maker did not work, and there were 3 dead lightbulbs. The breakfast area was extremely sticky, both floors and tables. All in all not a pleasant experience.
- 4/5
water leaking from the bathroom
- 3/5
There was cigarette and weed smoke smelling all through the hallway.
- 4/5
Property overall in a great location great room, on the day of departure no hot water had to take a cold shower.
- 3/5
It was a reasonable place to stay
- 4/5
-
- 2/5
My room stunk of smoke , the air conditioning was noisy . The pocket door for the bathroom was rotting at the bottom and filthy and I couldn’t close it . Terrible room
- 4/5
It was fine, typical of the price range. The room was relatively small but decently laid out, the shower was very large and nice, but the AC really didn't get very cold. Decently crowded, which I was a little surprised about, and the normal odd smells in the hallway, but overall, about us expected. I would stay again for the price.
- 2/5
Wasn't the best and didn't stay out hole time
- 2/5
Very dirty
- 2/5
Untidy
- 4/5
It was a nice visit overall! Not bad for price either
- 2/5
I was disappointed with my stay overall. There was a profuse smell of marijuana when I got out of my car and also throughout the hotel. There were people sleeping in their cars in the parking lot as well. I was looking forward to the continental breakfast, but nothing was available. The chairs were still stacked on the tables. I tried to get some ice from the lobby, but the machine didn't work. The bathroom and room was pretty clean and there was a fridge and microwave. When I got in the shower, the bar holding the handheld sprayer came off of the wall completely and the hose that was connected was black with the covering falling off.
- 4/5
Overall ok
- 2/5
It served a purpose. Shower head had a bad leak. Bed was comfortable.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly but you need to bring your on washcloths. First time ever staying in a hotel that didn’t have enough washcloths for you to bathe had to use hand towels.
- 4/5
It is a average place to stay for the price.
- 4/5
Great
- 3/5
The parking lot routinely smelled of weed and became a hang out in the late hours for random people. also the walls are amazingly thin making loud neighbors even more bothersome. i cannot reccomend.
- 1/5
I've stayed at a lot of hotels for work. This was asking the worst if not the worst. The property was run down and poorly maintained. There was plaster peeling everywhere. There was a molded coffee packet in the coffee maker. The property was dingy, dirty, and in need of being rehabbed. The one bright spot was the friendly and attentive staff.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and house keeping
- 2/5
Room smelled like smoke and there was a large gathering in front of the building that looked sketchy.
- 1/5
We didn’t even stay the night and were charged for the whole night. We asked for a nonsmoking room and the whole hotel smelled like smoke. The area of town wasn’t the best. We had our kids with us and didn’t feel safe staying there.
- 3/5
The room smelled like dog pee and it smelled that way the entire night. I would never send anybody to this hotel And there were no vending machines or places to get ice
- 4/5
Room was very dusty
- 2/5
Room smelled like cigarettes and marijuana, cigarette ashes all over the table and in the toilet. Plug in outlets on the lamp didn’t work. Behind the night stand was disgusting
- 2/5
Poor condition of the hotel
- 3/5
I did like climbing the stair case. A lift would have helped us
- 3/5
This particular room I would not have stayed in if it hadn't been after 11 at night and we had just drove over 8 hours. The fridge and microwave in the room did not work, the sheets had cigarette burns in them but seemed clean. Overall cleanliness was not great. Would have been expected for a 60.00 a night room but not for paying over 100.00. also noisy neighbors and very noisy outdoor noise. Not the most pleasant evening for resting
- 1/5
Breakfast was terrible, little more than toast and water. Unwilling to store bags when I had an appointment which led to me having to cancel the appointment. Late checkout for a few of $50 gets you half an hour max, hardly a late checkout!
- 5/5
Lady at Front Desk was very helpful.
- 1/5
We arrived late at night, around 11PM and there were guests loudly partying in the parking lot, which made me feel uneasy about parking the car near them. When we got into the room, I needed to shower but there were still curly hairs stuck to the side of the shower, so I didn't shower. I knew it hadn't been cleaned properly. The hotel furniture was falling apart, and to top it all off the fire alarm was not only unplugged but completely missing. The entire building smelled like smoke and i generally did not feel safe at this location.

Absolutely awful! On arrival our bathroom door didn’t function at all- had to get the manager off her smoke break with eyes rolling from outside and she really wasn’t concerned. Finally door was fixed by the time we got back from our concert room is just sad looking multiple cracks and repairs attempted in the ceiling. Sheets smell like someone has been smoking in the room. Just awful stay. I usually stay at the sleep inn in concord mills and somehow booked this one on accident and it’s night and day different I was so embarrassed to have brought my friends here. Won’t be back EVER
- 3/5
There seemed to be shady stuff going -
- 2/5
The entire property is in severe need of updating. It needs new carpets and mattresses. The corners of ceilings have cobwebs. There are numerous places where paint is flaking or has fallen off. The drop ceilings are pathetic. It looks to me like the employees aren't being given the resources, human or equipment-wise, to provide even an average experience. And that is too bad, because EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE was polite, hard working and tried their best to give excellent service with the limited tools ownership has given them. Sadly, this has been a chainwide trend over the last few years. This chain has deteriorated horrendously in the last eight years. In 2020, the industry excuse was "COVID." In 2021, it was "nobody wants to work." In this particular chain, they have run out of excuses. I think I'm going to put Sleep Inn to "sleep" on my roster of hotels for awhile.
- 3/5
Sheets were wet, asked for new sheets, never arrived.
- 5/5
Stay was fine. Check-in was ok. Room was clean. Breakfast was good.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a very good area as far as dining and shopping. The only issue I had was that there was a $50 cash deposit that I was unaware of until I checked in. Usually when paying with a credit card, that charge is added. So for anyone booking with them, just know that this charge has to be paid in cash and will be returned to you once you check out as long as your room meets the criteria.
- 5/5
Quick trip to Charlotte for a concert so we only stayed one night. Front desk manager was awesome! She was super nice and gave us helpful advice for our trip out for the concert.
- 4/5
Good location around University, plenty of dining options around the hotel
- 2/5
Nothing good about it
- 4/5
The ladies that signed me in had excellent customer service. The only problem I experienced was we stayed for 2 days and wasn’t given any clean towels. It was sweltering hot out we walked everywhere and no clean towels were replaced for us . So we had to use dirty ones from the first day.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 4/5
The price is good but it gets a sketchy at night
- 3/5
Good for one night while traveling
- 4/5
Great race stay . Good breakfast.
- 1/5
$75 non-refundable pet fee was not advertised. Hot breakfast just included bagels, cereal, and waffles. The non-stick spay for waffles had the first ingredient as silicone. Overpriced, and advertising was deceptive. Fight almost broke out during checkin from disgruntled employee that was fired. Lots of swearing and was afraid of getting hurt if things escalated further.
- 4/5
😊
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and helpful.
- 5/5
It was a good experience, though they were super busy due to the major Concert in Charlotte that night. No loud noises and the bed was pretty confortable. Isnt my first time staying here and probably wont be my last.
- 2/5
There was a room full of people next door that kept us up much of the first night. Sometimes the group was cheering and loud, but could hear them just as clearly when taking at typical volumes indicating it was as much weak sound proofing as well as obnoxious guests.
- 1/5
Dirty shower with hair , the shower knob broken , very noisy on week days i kept getting up out my sleep because people were slamming the door , fromt door didnt work rather u had a key or not after 8pm which us dangerous i ended up leaving earlier then i was supposed to .
- 5/5
The friendly and inviting service.
- 4/5
Comfy bed for two nights. Bathroom was a bit small but doable. The free breakfast could be a bit better even though they dont have a restaurant.
- 5/5
I have no problem at all
- 5/5
Very comfortable and fast check in
- 5/5
Great staff.
- 2/5
In our room ,we heard footsteps upstair and the noises besides us. The walls are thin, and no sound barriers.
- 1/5
The window in room 413 would not shut. From there we could hear Chic-fil-a taking orders in the drive thru. The accommodating front desk gave us a new room...515. Again, the window would not shut. So we switched gears and booked a room at the nearby and much cleaner and nicer with shutting windows Comfort Inn. Hopefully we can get a refund from Hotels.com.
- 1/5
At check in, the woman glanced at me standing there and ignored me for a bit before finally asking how she could help me, without even looking up or in my direction. The check in process was extremely tense. She fussed at me for not letting them know I had dogs. I explained that Expedia doesn't ask you that when you make the reservation, but the hotel was listed as pet friendly. She spoke to me using as few words as possible, was curt in her communication to the point of being rude. We leave for our event around 5:30 and returned to the hotel about 9:30. It was not a late return. Everything was fine, we thought, until we had to take our elderly dog out to use the bathroom around 4:30am. At that point, some woman in jeans and a t-shirt came towards us and loudly said from down the hall, that there were complaints about our dogs barking and that we weren't supposed to leave them alone in the room. If that was the case, why would you ever book a room? I would just stay home. There is no rule on their list about leaving dogs alone in the room that I had been told. We packed our stuff and were out the door by 5am. This was a horrible stay.

When we checked in at 4pm, almost the entire hall had the doors open with dirty linens stacked outside the doors. It was creepy. The room was nice and was clean. But hotel was noisy. Floor shook. Felt uncomfortable in parking lot.

Bathroom door was broken and wouldn’t slide. Toilet was not cleaned. Rest of the room was clean but I think they forgot that one thing. Breakfast area had too many tables close to the food, making it difficult to pass through the line for food. Staff were very polite.
