Staybridge Suites Charlotte – Tyvola by IHG

I have stayed here before, but this time it seemed there was less upkeep of the interior. Garbage cans overflowing, water machine in fitness center inoperable. It is a fine hotel but could be better.

This property was beautiful and perfect for me and my partner’s weekend stay in Charlotte. It wasn’t too far away from any of the places that we wanted/needed to go. It was our first time lodging here and he actually called it “the hotel jackpot.” Honestly, the only thing that I was dissatisfied with is that they serve a buffet breakfast, which is delicious by the way, but they have absolutely no hand sanitizer throughout the lobby/dining areas. All (4) of the dispensers were empty and when I asked for one of them to be refilled, I was told that they've been empty so long that they’re not sure how to refill them. Otherwise, the please appeared quite clean.

We arrived 40 minutes early and our room wasn't ready, as soon as my husband and I sat down in the lobby and began to chat the receptionist said your room is ready. Check in was a seamless process, the room was cool and clean. The staff were great and very accommodating. The location was awesome. It was really a quick drive from my area, very relaxing. We didn't have any complaints it was very nice and I really liked the dove products. Check out was as simple as telling them the room number and dropping the key in the drop box.

The room was amazing. Big suite, great kitchen with stove, cabinets and full size fridge. Nothing.

The bathroom was outdated and the wallpaper was falling off the walls. The toilet bow handle was barely hanging on. Only 3 towels in a room made for 5… silverware was minimal. My stay at Home2 I had to admit was a lot nicer than this one… disappointed in IHG on this one - Hilton seems to be edging you guys out on quality. Mattresses were stiff and horrible - tv in the bedroom had no channels. I had to do a rescan to get anything to show up. Just not up to the standard of my other IHG stays and far from Hilton.

Hotel is in a safe and quiet area of Charlotte. The property is well maintained, rooms clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay again.

Breakfast was great, room was clean and spacious with a kitchen and cooking supplies, pool was warm. We had a great stay and didn’t want to check out. Could tell the lady making the breakfast and keeping it running cared and I trusted her! Loved our stay!!

I will definitely be back. Everything was excellent and really appreciated the complimentary breakfast every morning not to mention all the dove fragrances for toiletries.

The only problem was the size of the beds. They claim to be queens but pretty sure they are fulls.

We had a great 2 night stay. We needed a place to park our family of 4 for a couple nights away from home. Nothing fancy, but a very pleasant stay. Great beds with nice pillows, and blackout shades that worked! We appreciated the kitchenette. The kids enjoyed the pool, although it’s not heated. The breakfast was adequate - certainly enough to fill up on.

Room pictures are misleading. We paid for a “Studio Suite” which in the pictures shows a full kitchen and living area separate from the bedroom but all we got was a standard room.

No drawers for clothing in standard room. Only in suites.

After reading other reviews I thought it was better than expected. Although it looked like they just shampooed the carpets and couch as everything was very wet…. The floor felt a little sticky… but overall it seemed ok.

The second shift guy was amazing at checkin! We got the wrong room and he fixed it in just a few minutes! I took a star for cleaning as there was hair in the shower but it is really nice!

The breakfast was hot and delicious! The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for a family of five! Clean and comfortable beds.

The hotel itself wasn’t really that bad. The only issue is was I have a service dog and she tried to charge me the pet fee. Then I came back and asked again and that’s when her manager said we’ll never charge for a service dog.

The staff was amazing and showed great customer service. I will be staying here everytime im visiting Charlotte.

The room is super clean. Great amenities. Front desk really friendly and efficient. Breakfast very good too. This was an unexpected trip because I got standed at the Charlotte Airport due to a big storm. The hotel personnel were coping with a lot of new reservations and very bad travel conditions locally. Yet, they did it all including show up to make a great breakfast and everyone was calm and welcoming. The best!

The room was nice, had everything you needed, for a studio like apt, it was great!!!, we were from out of town, so glad we had a car, it was a few things around, but to me not a lot, at least not rt there in immediate area, We would stay there again for sure, enjoyed are stay!!, Staff was excellent!!!

Clean room, staff was extremely professional and the food was on point! I had a 6 hour airplane delay and they allowed me to get comfortable in their lobby.

Would have preferred scrambled eggs and bacon. Oatmeal was watery. Coffee was good!

We had to change rooms because our first room smelled like weed as soon as we entered the room. Funny thing is we had to wait about 20 mins for the room to finish it's cleaning process by housekeeping. That smell was strong and unacceptable. We were able to change rooms with no problem. The second room had no smell but it wasnt very clean. I travel with cleaning products to clean hotel rooms, the counter tops still had crumbs on them, the side tables had oily prints and the light switches, frames of doors and area around the door handles had obvious finger prints, stains, etc. my husband has asthma and struggle with his breathing the whole time we were there. Looking closer there looked to be mold under the vents. The hotel and room layout is visually nice but it's clear that housekeeping does the bare minimum when cleaning the rooms. There was even a sticky hand still on the ceiling from the previous stay.

In a good location and close to most major things in Charlotte. Sofa was very dirty and soiled. Hotel needs an update drastically

It was very clean. And we loved the dove soap in the bathroom. It kept our skin soft all weekend long. We will have to stay again. The only downside was the pool wasn’t open but other that it was excellent and affordable.

Close to the airport. 30 minutes from Uptown. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast.

The sofa bed was really dirty and still had red stains on the arm rest by the window. Also when we tried to check in we waited for like 25 minutes, please check the cameras, and no body was around. We even called for so long and walked everywhere. Woman finally came from outside and didn't even apologize for the wait. Failure from the staff to be honest. No one at the front desk to help anyone at all

We pre paid for 3 rooms total on 2 separate reservations. 1 room was paid for in points. The other 2 rooms I prepaid when I booked and was charged 435.00 total. After we left the hotel we where charged 190.15 each for 1 of the rooms. It has now been a month and 3 times where primised that the refund was processing. After the 4th call the finally initiated the refunds. I just recieved the first refund and it was for 160.15. The service has been completely unacceptable.

We did not get a room key so we were stuck in the room couldn’t leave to do anything like go to dinner so we had to send somebody out to go and pick something up which was such an inconvenience and I think that I should get half of my money back for the inconvenience And the breakfast sucked that sausage and they had some omelette with green peppers or something in it. That’s it.

The staff are the stars of this hotel. Everyone from the front desk agents to the housekeeping staff were all so kind and accommodating! I think the pool area could use an update but the staff make it someplace I would definitely stay again!

The room on 3rd floor was huge. Little kitchen area with full size fridge utensils plated and extra table was a nice touch. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There was a slight trace of smoking in the room was present. And the shower floor could use a bit of scrubbing. But otherwise our stay was very pleasant.

Alexis at check in was awful. I had confirmation for two rooms and she said all she had available was one. There was no effort to help or correct sitution. I called another hotel and even though they were nooked they looked around for me at partnering hotels to help. Now that is customer service and Alecis has none nore should.she have a job.

Desk clerk we're very friendly, and down to earth, Donna. And the clerk that was there Saturday evening made sure we had fresh coffee as we sit and played cards in the lobby.

Great hotel and great staff!!! I wanted to stay an additional night, but had to book a different room through hotels.com for our 2nd night online. Staybridge was able to assist me with keeping my same room and for the same discounted rate. We were in town for a concert and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Get the room with kitchen suite, you will not regret it

The hotel was clean and updated. Daily breakfast was convenient and has several offerings. The location was ideal and close to many restaurants. A car is needed.

The hotel was really nie, roomy and clean. The only complaint I have is the hallway leading to room was hot with no AC, and the water pressure in shower was not good. Aside from that, everything was great! I'd stay here again!

The stay was short but pleasant. The hotel was very convenient to the Bank of America Stadium where me and guest attended the GNX tour. Hotel and property was clean plus the kitchen was a good addition. Only downside was the loud dog barking in the mornings.

Camya was the service rep and she was wonderful. But management at the hotel would not answer the phone and other branches in the Charlotte area hung up on us when we called to see what was going on. We are not typically ones to complain, but this may be the worst hotel experience of our lives. I would expect a reply and reimbursement for our current trip and some significant compensation. Always a pleasant stay with welp kept properly

Per hotels.com the hotel was renovated/ new and it was an 8.8/10. The hotel in my opinion wasn’t new or renovated. It was more on the dumpy side and not great at all. Stains on the couch and bathroom was patched and falling apart. The only saving grace was the staff, which were all really nice. I would have rated this hotel a 6/10, at MOST- definitely not 8.8.

The first thing I noticed was how wonderful the receptionist looked; she was dressed so beautifully. She had a friendly smile and attitude. The hotel was clean and the staff were courteous and friendly.

On the second night of my stay my vehicle and 8 others were broken into. Not one staff inquired about our well being. Never even looked outside to see why there was a lot full of cops. The police informed us that this happens there all the time and there wasnt anything we could reaaly do but suck it up.

I liked it all.

Property was nice, appeared pretty new, very clean. My son and i booked an extra night, and it was available, we even got a better price than first night, which was booked thru Expedia. The free breakfast buffet was an extra bonus, saved us money and time!

My reservation was canceled by Staybridge apparently because I did not have a card in file when I booked this reservation with a card. On top of that I wasn’t even notified about the cancellation and had to make last minute reservations at another hotel and ended up spending $400 more than this reservation. Very upsetting!

I enjoyed my stay. The suite was perfect for us - 4 adults and 3 children. My son and I really enjoyed the pool. Was bigger than most hotels we’ve stayed at. Complimentary laundry was cool and room was really nice. Will stay here again when in town.

Convenient and quiet

My family and I went for a quick vacation and we loved our stay. The staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was great especially for kids. We will definitely return. Oh and my son spent at least an hour a day in the gym.

My wife wasn’t a fan of the breakfast but enjoyed the pool and the room.

Pool was not open and was not disclosed beforehand. Stff was friendly. Did not give us HI Diamond Elite Points.

The front desk manager and rest of staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a small issue with the room on check in and they offered (without us asking first) if we wanted a different room. They greeted us every morning when we went to our breakfast and reminded us on the 5 o’clock social event.

This hotel is easy access off I-77. The staff are very friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. Nice hot breakfast that is not the same thing every day like one of the adjacent hotels. I have stayed here twice now on business trips and plan on returning.

Traveling with our dog and the staff at Staybridge was fantastic. Nicole gave us good recommendations for dinner options. Tiffany was pleasant and friendly when we checked out.

Had to find a hotel when we got rebooked on a flight. We are very pleased with the Staybridge hotel. It is convenient to the airport and very comfortable, especially after a long, tiring, frustrating day off travel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice, clean, quiet, up to date facility. About a 5 minute drive to nearby shopping area with plenty of dining options. Bring your own laundry detergent and wash your laundry on site for FREE. Breakfast included a menu mix of hot and cold food choices for any palate that made my heart dance. Would defintely book a stay at this location again.

Booked a 1 night stay as a stop over on our way to Florida. Convenient location right off 77. The place was spotless and the king suite was very roomy and comfortable. Was pleasantly surprised with the room amenities. Would absolutely stay here again.

Staybridge always comes through with quality rooms and breakfast. Staff was very helpful and personable. There were some cosmetic issues in the room that come with aging but nothing unclean. I found that not having a chair in the bedroom made it difficult to sit and dress/undress without having to go out to the main room. Recommend a chair in the bedroom

Our stay was okay. We had to wait for our room to be ready, we checked in around 5. The house keeping staff was a bit short with us when we asked for things we needed. Bathroom room fan rang instead of blowing air. This was our second time staying the first time was a lot better. Overall rooms were layed out well and spacious.

Quiet and relaxing

Very clean (inside and outside of property), courteous and attentive staff, and really good continental breakfast. This will definitely be the place I stay when I'm in Charlotte!
