The rooms were very clean and comfortable

The hotel was not well lit, it had a very musty or stale odor throughout and it was very old and outdated. The TV did not work or the WiFi the parking was awful there was not enough parking for the hotel guests staying there. The parking lot is also not well lit and a they park a Hotel Shuttle van in one of the hotels few handicap spaces.

The staff was accommodating and let us check in an hour early. At no fault of the hotel it was not in the best area around the airport. Our room was clean and everything in it worked as it should.

Quite surprised and disappointed in the "quality" of this hotel, based on Expedia's representation. It is VERY outdated (even with broken and badly stained furniture) and seems under-staffed. The employees WERE def all kind and helpful but, seem to lack mgmt support. The hot breakfast is better than nothing but, not much. I certainly did not expect a luxury hotel at the price but, this really was a bad choice. I hope the company will invest a bit more attention to this property and staff.

Only a 6 minute drive from the airport, the location was convenient. The two ladies at the front desk were exceptionally friendly, efficient, and professional. They set the tone for the stay. The room was a little outdated, but the bed was comfortable and overall clean. The breakfast was carb heavy and not well stocked. Check out was a breeze and another friendly face at the desk. I would stay here again.

It’s a solid airport hotel for the night. It’s older in spots but reasonable well maintained. Older television. The blackout curtain is in a fixed position and doesn’t fully close, and there was a street light outside my window so that was annoying. The fixed blackout curtain that didn’t fully close

Staff was very helpful. Room was nice and clean. Instead of having a body wash, shampoo and a conditioner in the shower, they had a conditioner and two shampoos. The TV channels were very limited and did not have my hockey game I was trying to watch. Didn't get a chance to check out the breakfast.

I like everything except the furniture in the reception is a bit old

The rooms are out dated the couch was dirty with spills spots and frayed material, the TV was hard to operate there was know instruction card to ell you how to operate TV and the whole time I was there I tried on several occasions to call front desk and phone was always busy(like phone was off the hook)

We chose Wingate's location to the airport. I had stayed there previously and was very comfortable in my room and I liked the staff's helpfulness and attention. Love the breakfast, too! It's a small thing, but we were on the street-facing side and we could hear the traffic, but it did not interfere with our sleep.

I needed to cancel this reservation due to change of travel plans because of death in the family and you wouldn't even give me a credit for future stay.

Your site did not say that you have to call for shuttle pick up. We had to wait over an hour before we could reach somebody at the local hotel to get a pick up. If your site would’ve instructed us, we would’ve called ahead and scheduled that. Unfortunately, we stood in the heat, sweated, trying to get a ride to the hotel. Very frustrating.

The staff was very attentive and helpful; they were a great help, even with the airport transfers.

It was a clean and enjoyable hotel stay!

The room was adequate for our needs. One thing missing was some instructions in the room. Most hotels have some kind of instructions or welcome information. The biggest problem was the inability of the window curtains to close. Right outside our room was a very bright parking lot light. The room stayed light all night when we would have preferred to have it dark.

The hotel was very close to the airport. They have their own shuttle and they start at 5:00am. Downtown is about 15 min so the location was perfect. The staff was very nice and friendly including the once who set up the breakfast. The room was clean and spacious. I recommend it to any family or anybody traveling alone.

The rooms were kept very clean! Surprising for a hotel whose furniture and walls/decor could be upgraded a bit. Not sure when they were last touched up. The cleaning staff sure is cleaning properly though! No weird smells or stains or hair in the shower..overall a good stay! Breakfast was good too. I would recommend it.

This hotel has been rode hard and put up wet. The lobby area needs upgrading and the front desk folks could be a more professional. It just had the wrong vibe. The rooms are ok. The AC worked well and the bed and bedding was really good. This hotel will work for a quick overnighter if you have an early flight out of Charlotte Douglas. You are very close to the main entrance of the airport. Just don't expect it to be as good as it looks in the photos. Overall, it is ok, but not at the top of my list.

Have witnessed drug deals going down next door twice while staying at this location. 2 local police vehicles and an ambulance were in the hotel when we checked in. Some of the physical facilities are looking worn. Graffiti etched in the elevator.

The room rates around CLT are so high I found the need to economise. Room 300 was good but too distant (?) to connect wifi, I had to go out down the hall to connect. I selected Wingate on price, checkout time (noon) and free shuttle & breakfast. You have to call for the shuttle to come to airport and a nice man let me know that as well as borrow his phone, thankfully. Breakfast was very basic as were in room amenities (no tea). It was ok. Had a good sleep.

Our room was ok, not wonderful but clean enough. It serves its purpose as a very convenient hotel to stay if you are spending only one night as it is close to the airport and right off the highway. Noise is a factor since planes are taking off and landing all the time. Plus the drapes in the room do not fully close and the lights shine quite brightly into the room. They do provide breakfast and there is a shuttle to take you to the airport.

The receptionist (Latesha, maybe?) and the shuttle driver were both so helpful, polite and professional. All areas were clean, as was the room. Comfortable and good value for money. Close to CLT, quiet location, easy access.

Unfortuatley it doesn't make up for the very old furnature including the mattresses. Your could feel the springs when you sat down All othewr furniture in the room I would not even sit on. The AC unit was also extremley loud to the point where sometimes it covered up th esound of the planes flying over head. Did not get much sleep durning my stay.

Would definitely book again as so handy for Charlotte airport.

Nice, simple clean hotel

Proximity to the airport is a benefit for some, but for me, the noise of planes taking off and landing was constant. It stopped around 11 PM and resumed at 6 AM the next day.

The facility location was hodden. So thatvwas a bit difficult. But overall the stay was great ans the staff was excellent. I would ref this hotel and stay again.

Good basic hotel right next to airport. The property needs updating but the rooms are very clean. The staff is extremely helpful and kind.

We stayed here on a layover. The shuttle was fast to pick us up. There is Mexican restaurant next door. We left early to catch a 5:15am flight. You need to use an Uber for early morning flights but that was ok. I would stay here again.

Clean room & very friendly staff. However, several amenities did not work properly in the room, including the internet, which was very frustrating. Additionally, the airport shuttle service was not consistently available during a busy part of the weekend (no service between 12pm-5pm) which made transportation difficult & inconvenient

Staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast had a good variety and fresh fruit that was actually fresh. The room itself could use some work. Furniture was extremely outdated. Wood was scratched and upholstery and carpet were very worn and appeared to not have been cleaned in a while. Phone plugs did not work. Bathroom was definitely more upgraded, however, the tub was slightly clogged so there was a half inch of water while showering.

The room Wes clean and quiet.

Prior to make a reservations that knew they didn’t have any hot water but yet when I made a reservation no nobody say anything upon arrival I get there find out there’s no hot water and they said I was gonna give me a $50 discount per night on the room I have not yet received a discount and put Injury to end so on Saturday morning about 6:30 the fire alarm goes off and what’s going on and on the beds were on the floor. The mattresses were not great. It was just not a great day. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone that I know.

In dire need of an update

No hot water

No warm water. We arrived at 11pm and were told that due to burst pipes there was only cold water. It can happen but why is the hotel not informing arriving guests beforehand? This happened days ago. We were also promised a compensation in form of a discount and voucher for a future stay, but nothing happened despite me following up with the hotel. Room was clean and staff was friendly.

We never checked in. As we reached the property, we were told that there wasn't any hot water. Uncontrollable circumstances but very inconvenient. We are still waiting for the property supervisor to authorize the cancelation and refund.

It was a very short stay overall. the staff was AMAZING overall. the room, not so much. It was okay, but the bathtub didn't drain so I had to cut my shower short as water filled up. Check out was strange as well. It was fine for a few overnight hours though.

The room was an excellent value for the price I paid. Whenever I check into a hotel, I inspect the room for cleanliness and everything met and exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Airport shuttle was very convenient to take us to and from the airport. Miss Elisha at the front desk was very kind, helpful and accommodating. When we got to our room we noticed the sheets were very wrinkled and appeared to have not been changed. she had also looked at them and she offered to have us move rooms. Stay was quiet and we got rest. I just wished we hadn’t gone through the issue of the sheets however Miss Elisha was looking into it. She herself was not impressed. Washroom was clean. Hotel needs some upgrades.

Friendly and helpful front desk, quick and easy airport shuttle, clean room, and adequate breakfast included

The thermostat did not keep the temperature in the room constant i.e.it was either too hot or too cold. The coffee maker did not work. Everything else was fine, the desk clerks were very helpful.

The room was great. Clean and convenient. Check in and pickup after dropping off the car was very simple and the staff was great. Early morning airport pickup time was a little messed up but all worked out. Everyone tried very hard to represent Wingate well.

Breakfast was just so so. Front desk Leteshia/Lateshia (not sure of spelling) was awesome. She was multiple tasking and doing it very well. Room was clean and quiet. Leroy, our shuttle driver, was a hoot. All in all, nice stay very close to airport.

Bed was comfy. Room was clean as was the lobby and hallways. Only complaint is that we specifically booked here because they had a shuttle to the airport. When we checked in and asked about the shuttle we were told it didn’t start until 5:00 am. Our flight was at 6:40 am and so we were told to take an Uber instead. When we went out to catch our Uber at 4:30 the hotel shuttle was sitting next to our Uber and running.

The hotel is a couple of miles from the airport and has a courtesy van to take you there. It's located in a busy area with a couple of restaurants within walking distance. The staff is extra accommodating and very pleasant.

Fast and efficient last minute booking with free friendly shuttle service to and from the airport. The room was very clean and comfortable, hotel was quiet and breakfast was hot! Great stay!

Shuttle driver went over and beyond to help us get settled. Lady who served at breakfast was very conscientious and a very good worker. Did all she could do to make sure all guests had what they needed. Handicapped accessible room had handrails and the room was very large and clean although well worn.

We left before the breakfast due to the time of our flight. The lady at the front deck was wonderful and friendly! Vernon the shuttle driver was very kind and helped get everyone in and out of the van and got our luggage for us. We were traveling when the gov was shut down and everything was crazy. Your employees were so kind and helpful that it really calmed us down from the whole stressful situation.

Finally Arrived at hotel. The hotel is a dump. Old tired shabby furniture both in the small lobby and in the room itself. The mattress is old. Pillows old. I am extremely disappointed. A miserable hotel to come to after a long flight.

To my very strong disappointment, I received an email today informing me that your hotel had denied my request for a refund. I could understand if I canceled just because we willingly and voluntarily changed our plans, but this situation was not our choice or fault. When I made the reservation it stated it had free airport shuttle services. But when I got to the hotel they said bites limited. They could not give me a ride to the airport due to my flight leaving at 535am. I had to pay for an uber. Had I known I would not have statutes. I specifically reserved the room due to the airport shuttle. Also, it said there was a pool. When I got there I was told there was no pool.

Everything looked outdated. More like a motel then a hotel. Furniture needs to be more updated. The beds feel cheap and so does the pillows. The sofa in the room and tears in the material. The tub and curtain looks like it can be replaced.

The hotel had a gross smell. The window was cracked and “fixed” with scotch tape. I could feel the springs in the mattress and woke up with a backache. I’m glad it was only 1 night and not more.

Walked in and was greeted by Latitia at the front desk, who was warm and welcoming and so helpful with how to navigate the area in terms of dining and the shuttle. She was great. Slept in a comfortable bed, had a nice hot shower with great water pressure in the morning, caught the free shuttle to the airport. What could be better than that for a one night stay before catching a flight?

Smelled damp and musty. Paint was well worn off the door in the bathroom. No bathroom fan. Could use a deep clean.

Place looks like something out of the 1960’s. It’s dark throughout the entire hotel, and it smells like stale cigarettes. Plus the room’s decor is dated. And they’re charging the same rate for a hotel that’s way more modern. This place should never be recommend on Expedia if it wishes to maintain credibility.

Overall the entire hotel was below average. It smelled funny/bad and all carpets were visibly dirty. The breakfast was limited and not well stocked throughout the open hours.

All the staff that we dealt with were excellent and so welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful welcome by Letitia and friendly desk staff when I was looking for coffee at 5am. Coffee maker in room didn't work in its location. Moved to another outlet and got power. Leaked? Was a puddle of water on desk. I put a towel under it. Maybe sloshed when I moved it. Would be nice to have coffee available before breakfast service starts. Lots of people stay with you before early flight.

The overall experience was okay. I was disappointed that multiple outlets in the room didn’t work, and that the sink drain was clogged to where it would fill up the sink with the faucet on. The complimentary breakfast was served very late, and didn’t have most of the typical selection at that. My fiancées waffle tasted pretty bad and the toaster burned my toast (it didn’t have a setting to change how long it was on the conveyor belt). It was fine for one night but I probably wouldn’t stay beyond that and might look elsewhere in the future.

They kept $25.00 of a security deposit and I have no idea why. I guess it was asking for extra toilet paper. We don’t smoke and we even took the sheets and blankets off the bed, we wiped down the areas so that there was not really any extra work for the maid.

Spent one night here as it was super close to the airport and included a shuttle which was very convenient. The hotel was a bit outdated and basic but it was clean which is the more important of those two things. Not a ton of food options other than fast food but I did appreciate the grocery store close by. I walked over to grab some drinks and snacks.

The room and bathroom were large by today's standards so think it is a little older hotel. Bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful. I had difficulty figuring out the AC, it eventually cut on but turned off. My complaint was that the planes went right overhead and they were very, very, loud. I had in ear plugs and a pillow over my head and could not fall alseep for several hours. Flights seemed to fall off around 12:30 pm. I have stayed at two other hotels at the Charlotte airport that are closer to the actual airport and there were not noticeably loud at all. Although I liked the convenience of the hotel, I don't think I will stay again.

The airport shuttle was a 35 minute wait and the driver was rude and the van was dirty. The receptionist was pleasant. The public areas needed cleaning. The room didn’t have blackout curtains and a light from the parking lot shown directly into my room. The facility was old and tired with some attempt to freshen it that failed with lack of maintenance. I followed Expedias lead on the hotel and I’m disappointed you led me in this direction. The price I paid for the room through you was much higher than what was charged through the hotel. Never again….

Excellent place to stay! Shuttle driver shift ended at midnight stayed later so we could get our bags. Rooms were very comfortable and all staff helpful and friendly.

I was overall impressed with everything about the hotel, the hospitality the cleanliness the atmosphere everything. The hotel is set in n a quiet little area where you can relax and forget all your stress. The rooms and hallways were so quiet and that’s what I aimed for. Would visit again.

This is a great hotel if you need something very close to Charlotte Douglas. It is only about a four minute drive from the long-term parking lot but because of its location situated tucked in behind the main highway, it’s very quiet. The facility itself is a little outdated, but everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast was also very good.

I stayed here the night before an early flight out of Charlotte. The front desk staff member was so friendly and welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. There were a couple of dinner choices around the hotel but it involved walking down a 2 lane city road with no sidewalks and lots of trash. The breakfast was the usual buffet fare and my ride to the airport was great. Overall, it served its purpose for me and the staff members I encountered were nice. Nothing fancy.

The staff at the local hotel I’m sure had nothing to do with this, but I’m guessing it was a corporate decision to text and ask when I was leaving. I’m guessing that you want the information for staffing purposes. I paid for the right to stay till 11 AM and you should expect that that would be the time I would leave. I’ll leave when I want to and I don’t want to commit to a time that I’m leaving and I don’t want to feel like I’m being rushed out so that you can save on staffing costs.

My daughter and I always stay at this Hotel when we travel each September. They are very welcoming and they have a shuttle to and from the airport. Our rooms are clean and comfortable and the morning breakfast offerings are wonderful.

We booked as a non refundable rate to stay prior to our flight but unfortunately had to cancel our entire trip due to an injury. We went thru Expedia who advocated for a refund for us due to cancellation of our entire trip ....the hotel manager would not make any exceptions.

Honestly, this place was a big disappointment. The hotel feels completely rundown — tired rooms, dated furniture, and an overall vibe that just makes you want to leave. There are no good restaurants or even halfway decent food options anywhere close, which made it even worse. I actually wanted to move hotels after the first night, but since I’d already paid, I was stuck. The only thing going for it is that it’s close to the airport — and that’s the only reason I can see anyone staying here. Definitely not worth the money.

I booked this through Expedia. The hotel cancelled the booking so when I got off the plane our three rooms had been given away.

Overall, the room was good. My only complaint was the clogged drains in the bathroom sink & the shower. And provide softer towels for when you get out of the shower. Nothing worse than trying to dry off & the towels feel like sandpaper.

The room was fine but I left a bag with my jewelry in the room. I called 4 times but it had been confiscated by the maid who denied finding it. Room 506. I know it was there. Things from a deceased friend. I would have given a reward. I will never stay at a Wyndham Hotel again. Unforgivable.
