Days Inn by Wyndham Chester

You should close this motels, staff was worthless, could not enter lobby, I felt I was at a jail facility. I grew up in Chester and this motel gave the WRONG impression of the surrounding area. If the owner doesn't want to run it properly than close it. I will never stay at another Days Inn and now I question Wyndham name attached to such of a place.

Dirty hotel room and lots of cockroaches

They did not have a breakfast provided despite saying they would when we booked reservation. The room had some dead cockroaches.

From the false breakfast advertisement to the roach infested rooms, to the rude older gentleman that works the front late night/early mornings. The keys don’t stay activated, the rooms smell like wet brown paper bags, burn holes in the sheets and mattress, oh and did I mention the WiFi is nonexistent. Save yourself the not worth it $100+ for a two star at best room. Not worth the critters possibly coming back.

No warm water

Room was not very clean. Place could use upgrades. They advertised breakfast but no such thing. Though it is not a big deal it is deceptively bad to do that.

I immediately had an issue at the front desk when i requested a downtairs room due to a mobility issue. I was very rudely told no because they were full but my sister arrived after me and got a downstairs room. The room i received was surrounded by homelessness, drug use and criminal actovities. The room stunk, the curtains were falling, the sheets were stained, looked like it had not been cleaned (an inch of dust on wall decor and tv). My sons blanket smelled like weed. There was a girl who had been kicked out standing on the steps with her 3 pit bulls and a ton of belongings. There were people shooting up in parking lot and lots of people hanging outside with alcohol and smoking weed. I didnt feel safe taking a shower the toilet didnt flush and looked like the towels were soaked in urine. There was stuff dripped sown the walls and the air didnt work. The mattresses were old and had springs popped. The only thing i didnt find was bed bugs but i did find a couple of dead roaches in the fridge.

Turns out, nothing! Reviews said it was clean so that was the reason for booking. It was not clean! Dirty, door knob falling off bathroom, stains on sheets, comforter was nasty. Refrigerator was in poor condition, people live in rooms at this location, one lady had 3 large pit bulls that she had tied outside her door, people making drug deals in parking lot not even trying to hide what they were doing. Just scary place. We were supposed to stay 2 days but checked out a day early.

Were able to accommodate after issue with Super 8. Even added another night because the room is so comfortable and the staff is very friendly! Very open and honest about everything!

Room was outdated, sink leaked, shwer curtain rod was barley holding on. Offered 4 channels all news or sports. No coffee or breakfast. Limited housekeeping. Although pet friendly the cost to have 2 pets was a bit high. I will say staff were friendly and the front desk did cut a break on pet fee, you could tell he was not happy to.

The bathtub was not clean therefor we did not use to clean ourselves... The breakfast that was originally offer and wich we choose the place for was not offerd.

Bed sheets/sets could definitely be improved. Had cigarette burn holes in them & stains as well. Used tissue. Wall had stains. Definitely has a pest issue. No breakfast…only coffee. Staff (housekeeper) came to get dirty towels (never brought me clean ones) doesn’t really seem as advertised.

Location the fact i was told there was a breakfast and then when i checked in, that they didn't offer it. Front desk advised me that my cash app card was not accepted, I had to transfer money to my personal account to pay for the room, was charged a fee to do this with cash app, very much hassle! Please feel free to refund me or something, breakfast also.

Some of the rooms had roaches. The room I was switched into had a broken shower rod and when informed front desk said they would send maintenance to fix it and it didn’t happen. Didn’t offer any accommodations for the inconvenience. Had to go and ask for tissue didn’t have an extra roll in the room. Blankets had ink stains on them thank God I bring my own bedding. Water leakage on the ceiling from room above.

The room had roaches and we didn’t even stay the whole time once we noticed the roaches coming out of the wall and sink. Obviously they have a problem and do t take care of it. I will not be back and I will tell everyone not to come back either. There is no one you can complain too as the office was closed with the doors locked. I should get a refund for not being able to complete my stay due to the unsatisfactory conditions.

Location was good. It was a place to stay . The bed was fine. Nice refrigerator. However there were 2 things that I didn’t like. I drove over 700 miles , and when I checked in , the gentleman at the desk wasn’t friendly . He wasn’t rude , but he was indifferent , and barely look at me. Maybe he had a bad day. Or I was tired from driving 700 miles I don’t know. The other thing , I was led to be believe they had a continental breakfast. Got up expecting thst. There juice me machine was empty, and not even working. They had nothing for breakfast . Have stayed at other days inn, They had a breakfast. The fellow who checked me out was much friendlier. The room gave me what I needed , and I think days inn. Could have been better with the small things. There are several motels around where this Days inn is.

People very helpful

My company had work in Chesterfield and I booked two rooms for 3 of my workers to stay over night. They thought it strange that 1/2 the hotel was not accessible for rooms, but thought nothing of it until after their stay was complete. All 3 workers were eaten up with bed bug bites. Now we get it, they are infested with bed bugs and just let people book with them anyway.

Older motel but clean.

We made the reservation based on they offered complementary breakfast so we could make an easy departure without having to stop somewhere else. At check-in nothing was mentioned about "no breakfast". The next morning we were told no breakfast due to staffing issues. We had to stop to eat elsewhere delaying our trip. We feel we paid TOO MUCH for a room in the area without breakfast included and would have stayed elsewhere at a cheaper price.

Everything was as expected for the price except it said breakfast was included and it was not.

The property or at least the room that I was in was absolutely disgusting. There were roaches in bed bugs in my bed and roaches in the bed size drawer, which I took pictures of everything. When I complained to the front desk about it, they blew me off totally and said there was nothing they could do about it. I would definitely be posting this on Facebook and TikTok to make sure that nobody stays here that I have anything to do with.

I never stayed at this hotel. The front desk person stated they would not charge me. The rooms were old and dirty. The first room they gave me was dirty and had Roaches! Also dirty linen. They tried a second but, I felt unclean there. Sorry but I couldn’t let my son or myself stay there. So, I got another hotel.

I am requesting full refund . Was a very hot weekend and just wanted to get a room for couple of nights and wake up to bugs crawling on me in my bed jumping up to see what in the heck it was . Said they had breakfast ? Nothing . Can deal with that easy but the bugs no . Then when leaving had them come to my door knocking as I am packing saying I had to go to office for pet fee and was a total misunderstanding cause I guess a language barrier from the individual who came to my door . Then manager came knocking saying the girl said I was not nice to her ??? I told her had no clue what she was talking about had not had an argument with anyone just wanted a darn nice weekend away . The dog issue was resolved I did not know I had to go to front seat and tell them I had a small dog with cause I thought when I booked amd said I had a small dog that was known . The room was fine but the HUGE roach crawling on wall put damper on my experience at hotel. I didn’t let it stop the party. I killed it, flushed it and kept the party going. I hope it doesn’t happen again..I like staying there

This was a motel, not a hotel. Breakfast was advertised, but not available. Room was dated. Bathroom was not clean. Musty smell. I will not be back.

This is a tired property that is not well maintained. The man at reception was very friendly and explained that due to staff shortages rooms were only deep cleaned after checkout. Our room was not deep cleaned - in fact it was dirty. I used a facecloth to clean the tub before showering - and the water ended up being a light brown colour - quite disgusting. The non smoking room had a strong smell of cigarettes. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable - after an hour of broken sleep, we decided to forget the experience and head down the highway. Not recommended

I ended up booking another hotel in the area because this hotel did not feel safe, nor did it look like the photos shared on the website. The door to my hotel room was broken and the room was not clean whatsoever. I was extremely disappointed by this experience.

It's was dirty. They came in my room while I wasn't there. And claimed it was to clean my room. But nothing at all was done. Just someone snooping around in my room. We didn't even have cable in our room. We legit got 3 channels. Which is crazy. Especially since I'm paying $115 a night.

I stayed here before, and it was not that bad. However, on this last visit, I had two roaches in my room. There was also a terrible smell in the room. I think there has been an issue at that location now. It stated that room service was no longer provided unless you were there for more than seven days. By room service, I mean fresh towels and general cleaning. There was also a notice saying that you could not stay for over 21 days in a row, which makes me feel that people have been staying there or squatting. I will not be staying at this location again and would advise against it.

Whatever you do, never stay here. The rooms are filthy. Towels smelled like gasoline, no shower curtains on the absolutely filthy shower. Dead bugs on the floor. People in the parking lot blasting music or people just sleeping outside of rooms to the point I felt completely unsafe. Loud almost non-working AC unit. I have traveled all over this country and this is the worst place I have ever stayed in in my life. Also, don't be fooled by them saying they give you a free Continental breakfast. The breakfast was a 3-hour old coffee pot. The owners when I brought up the problems just Shrugged their shoulders and basically walked away. This place was a cesspool, do yourself a favor, do not stay here. It amazed me that Expedia and other sites even offered this place for as much as they offered it for. The worst hotel experience I've ever had.

This was a horrible experience … 6 police showed up for something . It was filthy , the faucet didn’t work , and their was a cockroach in the bathtub.

Write up said it had a continental breakfast, no breakfast. Phone rang twice in middle of the night so we took off the hook. Room was dirty. Burn marks on both comforters even though it was supposed to be smoke free. Room had slight smell of smoke. Loud music outside in middle of night. Front desk clerk at check in was not friendly. Almost out of toilet paper on roll and no extra roll

Near everything

This property needs to be shut down or renovated. Outside smelled like urine. Guests were noisy all hours of the night, screaming, cussing, arguing. A/C super noisy like a car. Beds uncomfortable. Dirt, dry rot around doors and windows. Horrible!

The floors and bed were surprisingly clean, the AC worked as did the TV though channels were very limited. An ice machine was available and in working order. The property is obviously old and much is in need of repair; a lot of rust outside and even inside (including the drain for the tub as well as door hinges in the bathroom), cracked and uneven cement outside. It does appear that the inside walls have been painted and the carpet as well as the bathroom tile seemed to be in good condition. They seemed very concerned that someone would steal their "high quality" towels (a posted note in the sink area listed how much they would charge if the items were found to be missing), but not sure why anyone would steal them?! Glad we were just passing through and staying for only 1 night.

The inn would not compensate for false advertisement. Nor would they refund so I could book another hotel. I felt stuck!

It was ok, our room smelled of cigarette/cigar old ones, only towels for one person, mini fridge not plugged in found out why it made noises. Water pressure not great. 2nd room smelled better, water faucets in tub felt like they were going to fall off, hard to turn water in/off. Sink faucet hot/cold on backwards. No continental breakfast as advertised. And was double charged for both rooms!!

No breakfast, they really should remove that from there website. The room was at the bottom of the stairs with a big bright light shinning in the window. A sack of potatoes would have been more comfortable than the fold out twin bed. Staff did not even seem like they wanted to be there even.

The person who received us was not very friendly. The room we rented was a non-smoker but it smelled like a cigarette. The beds were hard. It looked like you slept on the floor. He said that it included breakfast and there was only coffee. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it to anyone.

The exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a box of loose nuts and bolts being rattled when turned on, the bathroom sink handle was incorrectly installed, and cold water to brush your teeth was an arctic expedition, yet alone turning it off/on, no constant water temperature could be maintained in the tub/shower, when showering, and toilet was crooked, askewed toward the bathroom door

I booked this hotel mainly because I was familiar with their name and they had a continental breakfast. When I got there, there's a sign saying no longer having breakfast. I booked this on hotels.com and expected it to be current information. When I walked into the room, it was like I was back in the 1960s. The room was stuffy and hot and just really looked like it was the same as it had been in the 1960s.

Property is good for just a quick stop to rest, especially on a budget.The essentials are there, fridge, bed, and shower.

We had to get a refund. The smell was horrendous in the first room. dirty. they tried to give us another room and the bleach smell made your eyes burn, even had a wasp nest. RUN!!!!

The hotel is located in a nice area that is convenient to everything. The one thing that I didn’t like was that the room smelled like it was a smoking room.

Hotel was clean, easily accessible, around lots of places to eat, and shop. My only issue was the woman who checked us in seemed to be more pre occupied with her phone than checking us in and was a bit rude afterwards when i thanked her for the check in. She was dismissive and waved her hand away from us and went back to her phone.

No Breakfast is provided in this hotel. There is also there is no room service for at least a week, if one plans to stay for a longer visit as per the notice put up by the owner at the reception. Also I felt that the hotel did not have enough parking spots.

I reserved this room without knowing the area, if it was refundable i would of canx it. For a 100 dollar room i shouldnt have a shower leak that that has the bathroom floor wet, also the website said breakfast included which there is none. A real dissapointment. Reserve a room somewhere else and save yourself some grief. The clerk was very friendly but the room was the disappointment.

Nothing about the motel. There is false advertising about this facility. There was no light breakfast as advertised. The smoke detector needed servicing so they just removed it to stop the chirping. No really hot water and the water was rusty. Facet needs fixing as the supposed hot water was to the right and never got hot. Could not take a hot shower. One light did not work and the desk lamp was very rusty at the base. You get what you pay for but they should have refunded my money.

Bathroom in very poor condition. Fan rusty and partially falling out of ceiling. Water damage and holes in wall near tub. Tub in poor condition, loud creaking when standing in it. Pet fee additional in person at time of check in. Even though room was a non smoking room it was apparent that was not always the case in the past.

The property was so poorly maintained that even the lock on the door did not work. Area was very noisy all night. Room had broken mirror, peeling paint, and poorly draining plumbing.

The Travelocity web site stated that breakfast was included. It was not. I hold both Travelocity and Day's Inn responsible for this not being removed from the web site. When we went out and bought donuts after learning there was no breakfast, we found that the microwave in our room did not work to heat them. There was also no coffee pot in the room, although there was coffee in the lobby in the a.m. only.

It took several attempts to access the room each time. No breakfast as advertised. No explanation of why either. Room/bathroom was only partially cleaned and in poor repair. Fixtures were rusty. One lamp had nowhere to plug in. Tv reception was fuzzy. Noise and distinct talk from neighbouring rooms. No facial tissues. We have stayed at Days Inn hotels many times in both Canada and the US. They are usually really good. This one was terrible (Chester, Virginia on I95). We certainly won't stay here again and we will tell our "snowbird" friends to avoid this one.

As soon as I arrived I was approached by Tiffany the front desk employee. She said to me if I really wanted to stay there I replied yes Why!? Because I had made a very bad review from my last day. She made me feel so uncomfortable I couldn’t wait til the morning to check out. I don’t understand why the manager never reached out to me instead tells the front desk employee. So I have this to say. This hotel is horrible. All the rooms smell because the housekeepers do not know how to clean. I will never visit this hotel ever again. They need to do some serious cleaning up. And to Tiffany, that’s not the way to treat a guest. It’s not your job to approach guests. I will be reporting this hotel to the health department!!

Ever been to a hotel and it was just okay?! This is how it was. Check in was easy and quick. The room was fine. Smelled like smoke despite being non smoking. We got there at 1am so I wasn’t going back to request a room change. Beds were comfortable. Shower temp was fine. The ac wasn’t on prior to us arriving so the room was pretty warm to start. Once the ac got going the room cooled down quickly. Outside noise was fairly loud but only because of a group of teenagers a few rooms down from us. I would stay again if it was just for a quick night like this one.

The hotel lobby smells really nice when you walk in. The receptionist was cleaning the lobby and wiping stuff down as we was walking in. The room was in excellent cleaning order. We will stay again
