Ayres Hotel San Diego South - Chula Vista

This is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained properties I have stayed at in a very long time. The staff was absolutely stellar! I truly wish that every hotel I stay at when I travel would be like this one. I also wish the employees in all of the places I travel to would be as amazing as the staff is here! I could not have asked for a better experience!

Bfast is not so good, only few bread..scrambles egg and boiled egg. And the coffee is so light like water. Whoever made coffee pls make it atleast medium roast. And the tv, so complicated. I don’t know if I am the only one complaining about it. Ah over all it’s ok..

Amazing property. We were thrilled with how clean everything was and how helpful the staff were. They also made me feel like I was an old friend. The room was elegant and way bigger than I expected. The breakfast was next level with custom ordering available and a wide selection of foods on the buffet. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. One of the best I have ever stayed at, is an understatement. Would recommend. 10/10.

Check in was an absolute breeze. Front desk staff was excellent with a great personality. My room was spotless. My only minor complaint was the bathroom door squeaks but other than that it was perfect. Breakfast was great too. Nice and warm with plenty to offer. This is and will be my go to hotel when I’m coming to Chula Vista.

Within walking distance to Eastlake Mall with shops and restaurants just across the street. Their breakfast was excellent (eggs to order: huevos rancheros and omelet). The kitchen staff were very accommodating.

The hotel is beautiful w/ a warm, welcoming lobby. The hotel is new and the decor is modern and sleek. The location is perfect, right in a shopping ctr w/ many food options. The gym was spacious w/ plenty of equipment w/ a nice view. The staff is friendly and helpful. They offer military discounts. Wish the price was lower :)

We love this Hotel. It’s always very clean in the lobby and most importantly in the rooms as well. We also love the full breakfast bar. All the food we have tried has been excellent. By the way this was our second time staying there. When we visit San Diego this will be the place to stay.

The rooms. First, I was put in a small room, not the normal rooms that I have stayed in over the past several years. Then I was moved to another room that did not have a sofa, but a kitchenette. I booked the room six months in events and did not like either of the options given to me.

Room was clean and modern, crib was provided as requested, room was quiet save for a bit of loud music by our neighbor until 9pm. Couple issues with food at breakfast, pancake machine was broken and no easy method to cook provided oatmeal packets.

The room was spotless, the staff were all super nice, & the buffet breakfast was really good.

The room was spotless. The staff was courteous. Very large and modern bath/shower (the water could have been a bit hotter, though). Very nice breakfast (eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, muffins, etc. -- I was hoping for some fruit and some yogurt, but didn't see any).

If felt very personable - all the staff were very friendly, and they decorated it for Halloween. I also liked that they had a bar, Taco Tuesday and snacks.

Walls are thin so if your neighbors are noisy, like ours were, you’re going to be kept awake. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear people above us stomping around. Otherwise it’s a nice place. Staff was great. Location was good and close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

The floor was very dirty since when they put the carpet and never washed the carpet. If you walk on the carpet, you can see your food stamp in the shower blackish !needs to be shampoo ! I have reported the issue to the receptionist …. New clean and lots of parking

From check in to check out everything was great. This is a newer property in a really great location. There are many stores and restaurants within walking distance. We just stayed oned night before heading out on a vacation from Tijuana airport but it was clean and comfortable. The rooms are large and there is a divider between the two queen beds which I appreciated since we were traveling with our daughter and her husband (it gave us just a little extra privacy that we wouldn't have in a typical room with two queen beds). We will definitely stay here again if the need arises.

Outdoor pool was heated at a comfortable temp. Our room was clean. We loved all of the walkable shopping and dining options. Great stay for our family.

I absolutely love this property. My only complaint is that you can really hear the people above you walking around & it can get loud. Other than that it’s great!! Will for sure stay again!

I rated 3 stars under property condition and facilities because first the shower has very low pressure of water coming out. We stayed at a king size bedroom. Second, the room is very spacious with very little furniture. Theres no coffee table and couch. Third, the bathroom is also spacious but the bathtub is very small and they still put a built in bench on it, which made it even smaller. Then, the bathroom sink is also small especially for a husband and wife sharing it. Lastly, theres no separate vanity area for ladies to use for doing make-up and such.

Hotel looks new but about 6 years old at the time of this post. I just needed a hotel for a night before heading to the airport in the morning. It was clean, comfortable, roomy and close to almost everything you would want in terms of restaurants and shopping. Certainly not a touristy area. Front staff helpful and pleasant. Overall, this was excellent.

Hotel was quiet, and check out is at 12pm. This will be my go to hotel if i am ever in the area again. Not to mention, Starbucks is close by and other stores as well!

The room and site was clean. My room was really hot when entering so I had to wait for it to cool down. Would have been nice to enter a room that cool after a long day.

Always a great stay! We come back to Ayres Chula Vista two to three times a year due to tournaments at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence. Ayres is in a very convenient location. Close to everything you can want.

This was a great hotel for my family of three. We enjoyed the size of the two queen room. We didn’t feel like we were on top of one another like most hotel rooms. The bathroom was spacious. The breakfast buffet was very good with made to order omelets as well as a waffle maker. We also appreciated that there were many shops and restaurants right across the street.

Prefect stay with the family. Would stay again and recommend to friends.

I arrived early for check-in and was pleasantly surprised when the front desk was able to accommodate us right away. The hotel itself was modern, clean, and well-maintained. Breakfast was included and offered a nice variety—eggs, waffles, pancakes, and more. I always make it a point to use the hotel gym, and this one was excellent—well-equipped and spotless. Overall, a great stay. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll definitely choose this hotel again!

Everything about hotel is fine but ants being in the room is not acceptable. I don't meant a few ants, I mean ants popping up in the restroom every 5 mins and within the rest of the room as well.

Very clean throughout the hotel and inside room and bathroom. Room and bathroom is spacious. Tub shower is excellent. Water pressure is super. The family loved the Pool and hot tub area. Also outdoor area is available and there’s an outdoor bar that opens in the evening. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with waffles, pancakes, eggs, a protein and potatoes. Can also request for kitchen staff to make an omelet if you prefer. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

The room location they put me in was horrible. Right across from where the maids assemble and they were extremely loud. Sounded more like it was a party going on then just conversations and it went on quite a long time.

Hotel has a very good fresh cooked breakfast to offer. Enjoyed the hot tub. Room was very comfortable. Patio on the weekend was a bit loud for us though. That was the only negative. Would have stayed longer but room prices were too high to commute to San Diego.

I stay there every 6 months and have a great visit everytime.

I was so happy when they said my room was on the 1st floor. But then after getting to the room everything was great till time for bed. It felt like sleeping on a rock. As a matter of fact, my room was next to some kind of employee rooms and the loud talking is what woke me up. Then because the bed was so hard, when I got up I had lower back pain. I have stayed here many times before and never had that problem. Will I continue to stay there most likely, but I will bring a blow up bed just in case I need it. I do like the location and the employees here and they always are very nice to me. But the bed yah that was a problem.

This is my second time staying at this property, and I really enjoy staying here. I visit family who live 5 minutes from this Ayres hotel, and it’s so convenient to dining, coffee shops, a movie theater, etc. And talk about cleanliness! The property always smells nice, everyone is so friendly, and I appreciate the size of the rooms. A basic king room is huge, and the restrooms and walk-in shower are amazing. If the price is right again, I’ll definitely think about this hotel when I’m visiting my family later this year.

This hotel has the BEST free breakfast ever! So many options to choose from! The hotel is very clean and quiet. I did not hear a single hallway or next door noise. We came to SD for the Wonderfront Festival and this hotel is about a 28 min drive (With traffic) from DT San Diego, and so much more affordable than staying DT. For this price and the amazing breakfast, and spacious, clean rooms, you can't beat it! I don't care about it being eco friendly or not so that has no weight on my review.

Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The amphitheater is a short drive away, but the amenities are somewhat lacking. The pools are very basic, the courtyard bar was not open and seemed pretty lack luster compared to the pictures, but the check in process was easy and the staff was nice.

Amazing hotel …will definitely stay there again

Our stay at Ayers was amazing. We came to visit our Son, Daughter-in-law, and grandkids and needed to stay in a hotel. Ayers was the closest and convenient for getting back & forth to their home. The room was clean and met our needs when we needed clean towels, clean sheets, or anything else. The breakfast each morning was wonderful, especially the omelets fixed however you wanted them. Would highly recommend Ayers Hotel if you need a good place to stay in Chula Vista.

Friendly, efficient staff, lovely property. My only problem this visit was the water pressure in the shower. It fluctuated quite a bit during showering, which can be annoying. Also, it would be great if every hotel had housekeeping staff check the bathroom sink to make sure the plug actually works.

Hotel appears brand new. Room was large and comfortable. Staff at check in was extremely welcoming. Restaurant recommendations, menus and list readily available. Located in the area of a large outdoor shopping and dining district. Hot breakfast starts.at 7am on weekends but coffee, juice, cereal appears to be available 24/7. Ayres properties always seem well run. We will definitely be back when we are headed across the border.

This property is beautiful, clean, walkable to stores and lots of food options. The property chef is amazing, staff is great and hotel is very clean not just the lobby. They are extremely attentive and have EV chargers which is a plus. No complaints at all.

This was the best stay I’ve ever had, check in was simple, staff was friendly. My room was clean and quiet. Stayed 4 nights, had zero complaints. Wonderful hotel in a nice area. We really enjoyed our stay. We loved that they had full size playpens instead of the dinky cribs or pack n plays we get at most areas. Unfortunately the EV charger was of the "app required" variety which I hate but I suspect the hotel was unaware of this when they were installed.
