Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater/St. Petersburg-Ulmerton Road, FL

The smell made us all sick- I give this place and overall 2 stars at best 1 star for staff because when we arrived the receptionist was outside smoking in-front of the entrance when her sign said she was helping a customer. 1 star for the breakfast which was really good. I can’t speak for the other rooms but ours the smell was unbearable and was pretty clean, however the hallway smelled good and looked clean giving high hopes but left disappointed.

The property was nice, but they put me in a handicap room and I did not request for a handicap room. Has the reception to change my room. She said she couldn’t. I was not happy. I was not notified a charge of $10 parking fee

There was no hot water in our room for 2 days complained then they fixed it.

More staff is needed in the evening/night. There was only 1 person doing everything and it made check-in slow. We were also made aware that due to over bookings and short staff, they didn’t have anymore clean towels. Not enough towels were available for our room.

The only thing negative is no one advised us that there was a $10 a day parking fee. They collect $50 extra just for incidentals. We had none. But they charged state taxes, motel taxes + parking charges. So the $50 I was told to be credited back to my account did not happen. Never had to pay this before. Believe me, I will not stay at a motel that doesn’t tell you this before they take my credit card!!

Room was great, comfy bed. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because we had no control over the AC unit in our room. It was great when it would turn on but then when it reached a great cool temperature it would automatically turn off and the room became hot. I woke up several times because of it.

When my flight was delayed an entire day I had spoken to someone who said it couldn't be reinstated for the following day. Once an Expedia agent called and spoke to Rebecca she did everything that could be done in her shift to help ensure they could have a room, whilst being transparent about the fact . Upon arrival I spoke with Taylor and all I needed to say was that I was an awkward position when she not only immediately knew who I was but was able to have a room ready, clean and available for what was a very early check in. They and other staff had continued to be very helpful and friendly throughout the rest of my stay. I, personally, think that Rebecca and Taylor specifically deserving of a raise for all they do.

Faucet in sink was a little baffling being so close to edge and rinsing hands was interesting. Soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion was very nice. Vending was very nice and varied. Breakfast was very good, and area was immaculate clean. Waffles were super! Overall ... NICE.

Breakfast was excellent. Choices were better than previous places that we have stayed. Love that we could bring Lily. That was our prerequisite for where we stayed. Our room had an odor to it.

beds were a little too still and our backs hurt a little the first day and we was glad to not be sleeping on them after the second night. Pool closed sharp at 10pm sharp, even if no one was making noises. I also thought the pool knob made no sense and no sign to tell people how to use it. You had to push up to get it to open (not normal for people) so everyone I seen had to get help. My sisters room ac controller was on the wall and ours was in the unit by the window. She was very hot the first day, since it was on a motion control and had to be set lower to work. Towels were very rough

Cleanliness was truly amazing — everything looked spotless and well maintained. The only downside was the parking fee, which felt a bit uncomfortable and unexpected. Overall, a great stay, but it would be even better if parking were included. When I made the reservation through Expedia, parking was included. However, I was later charged a parking fee, which was unexpected and inconvenient.

It was convenient to the activities we came for. Also like that breakfast was available. There was only one chair to sit on. We brought food back to the hotel but, we one had one chair to sit on and so I had to sit on the bed and hold my food in my hand.

Just a nice hotel for the business traveler in the Pinellas County area. The staff throughout this hotel is superb, especially the folks who are at the front desk. So friendly and helpful from check in to check out, throughout my stay. The breakfast is excellent and the free wifi was fine. Got my reports finished without any issues with the hook up. Not applicable.

For a premium quality and price hotel brand I was extremely disappointed. The lobby and breakfast area was excellent but that is where the excellence stops. Upstairs (2nd) floor the hallways smelled like funky mold. In the room the smell wasn't as bad as the hallway but it did still linger. The room cleanliness seemed ok. The main reason for the low review was there was NO HOT WATER. It was extremely cold shower. Before anyone else could shower, I called the desk. They apologized and there solution was to wait about 15 minutes and try again. It didn't work all night, or at least till we went to bed. We weren't offered any kind of compensation or room change and other guests that i talked to expressed the same issue.

Desk staff was excellent once again and very helpful for a quick check in and check out. Room was fine and comfortable. Internet for doing work report was excellent even at the free speed level. Nothing. Everything was fine!

The shower did not have hot water. I was was told a part had to be ordered. No estimated time for repair. Unacceptable to say the least. Housekeeping did not come one day. Found a bag of towels outside my door. Really? The noise from pool area was terrible. I couldn't get to sleep until midnight. Nobody seemed to care at the front desk. This is the worst place I have ever stayed and would never return or tell any of my friends, coworkers, etc requesting a partial refund without hot water my entires stay. Educate your people on customer service. I even asked to be moved and no one did a thing.

From checkin to checkout our stay was wonderful! Our room was very clean and allowed for a wonderful stay!

The fan blew cold air in my room all night long. I went to the front desk at 2 am and asked for help. The fan could not be turned off by the thermostat or the heat/air system. I left a written message for the manager and did not receive a call back. It was handy for flying out of the airport. The kitchen was very good.

My water was cold, my fridge did not work. WiFi wouldn’t work. I was switched rooms and still faced all the same issues and I was downgraded rooms and was not compensated for what I paid for the king room to down grade to the other room

I sleep with a fan on. They went above and beyond and provided me with a box fan. The room was nice and clean. The only thing that may improve the experience is hot water for the shower. There was hot water but personal preference would have the water hotter.

Girl at front desk was very friendly. I should have got her name. The room was clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was a perfect temperature. We slept very well and left the next morning without eating breakfast.

Bugs on 1 room

First, the front desk officer Haley was so kind to me. She exudes gracious professionality. Wonderful person. The location is excellent. Close to everything, yet far enough away that there isn't a ton of traffic. The room was beautiful. Clean and aesthetically charming. All the conveniences for which one would hope. Beautiful TV, fridge, microwave, desk, and beds. Extremely comfortable. I slept almost the entire time. I highly recommend it. If you look at other reviews, they probably sound like this one. :)

Unfortunately, the fan in my bathroom was broken and my fridge wasn't working properly, but after a visit from a tech, 2 hours after my call to the front desk, she adjusted the temp. The fan was never repaired.

We had no hot water to take a shower and we were up at 3 am to get a shower and be at the airport by 4. I let the water run for 10 minutes and it was still lukewarm. The desk clerk said they knew about the problem and which rooms it occurs in but they still assigned us one of those rooms. Did not offer any credit for the issue.

The room was so humid that I couldn't sleep I woke up the next day with a headache told the lady at the front desk about the humidity and I got the runaround saying that's how Florida is well let me tell you I've lived in Florida for 31 years and that's not how hotel rooms are cuz not one Marriott or one other Hilton that I've stayed in has ever been humid like that then they brought us a dehumidifier that smelled like feet they never one time offered for us to move rooms not once this was the most disgusting awful trip that I have ever taken it I will never ever go back to Hampton Inn again they're terrible

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites. This is my 2nd time staying here & they did not disappoint. I will be staying here again if I'm ever in the area.

The room was clean but smelled quite musty. The desk clerk Chrissy was very nice and responsive and sent housekeeping up right away and sprayed the AC that seemed to help a lot.

Furniture is old chipped dated, toilets are 8" off the floor which is ridiculous. Whomever put the faucet in the bathroom is just wrong. Coffee pot is a joke, TV system is terrible.

I had to wait for more than 15mins for the hot water to flow in the shower and ac fan was making noise which was quite disturbing while sleeping.

I did not like that the seat used for people with disabilities to enter the pool is broken and the cables were hanging out. That's dangerous. I Also think there's bed bugs because we were all scratching all our bodies when went to sleep.

What I liked most about my stay at Hampton Inn is customer service. Anytime I needed extra towels, directions or restaurant recommendations...they were helpful and polite. Additionally, the hotel is clean and quiet. I will definitely stay here again. Most company's don't value excellent customer service which is the one ingredient in keeping customers satisfied.

We had to book two rooms on short notice due to a bad experience at another hotel. They were able to help us get the two rooms as close together as possible. The hotel was incredibly clean and well-maintained. There were not any broken fixtures, trim, or strange marks on the walls. The bathroom was pristine, and the beds linens were fresh and neatly made. I highly recommend this hotel!

Incompetent staff and irresponsible manager. Check-in staff assigned quests to top floor knowingly construction is going on early the next day. The response I got is you should check out before 7am so you do not hear the noises. Conveniently the hotel manager is on vacation so no feed back or response. Just voice mail.

However, the room felt extremely outdated. The furniture and carpet looked like they hadn’t been updated since the late 90s. Bathroom door needs repainting. The view from my window was awful, overlooking what seemed like demolished buildings, warehouses and industrial site. Breakfast was very disappointing: dry omelets, sausage, and potatoes, canned-tasting fruit, and paper plates. Seating was limited, and although the staff kept things tidy, the quality was far below other Hampton Inn locations I’ve stayed at — especially compared to the ones in Jacksonville. Checkout was frustrating too, with a long wait while the front desk staff was away restocking supplies. I won’t be staying here again.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn here. I particularly like the digital keys and check in without having to stop at the desk which I did anyway the people at the desk were very friendly and helpful. I was able to choose my room from a map of the building. That was a new experience for me. The location is fine with plenty of parking. The breakfast is way better than the last Hampton Inn I stayed in previously. The facility is very nice but rooms need to be renovated. The bed is great but the furnishings are very dated. The TV is nice but the viewing options are minimal. I enjoy Netflix and YouTube but they were not available. Coffee was good too! Very clean and safe area.

Our room was nice and clean, smelled fresh. Beds were quite comfortable and it was quiet. I asked for a room near the elevator and i got that too.

The bathroom was either old and/or just dirty - hard to tell which We had a bug in our bed but we were too tired to move so we just killed it, then pulled all of the sheets and blankets to check the rest of the bed

The room was clean, but it all ends there. We had no hot water and had to shower in cold water. When I complained they moved me to another room, that had no air conditioning. When i called down to the desk they said they were sending someone up to fix it. After a half hour no one came, and I said enough was enough and checked out.

The room didn't smell good; there was hair in the tub, and the beds were creaky. I think they need some maintenance. The staff was very friendly.

The room was ok. But ine of the beds smells like vomit and had to call for new sheets and had flip over the matress myself. Theres was a lot of noise in the bulding and kids swimming late in pool and the floors were with water marks. Property was sold out and no chance to exchange rooms. Not good experience at all.
