Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. The location is also praised for being walking distance to many amenities. However, construction noise and parking difficulties are frequently mentioned as significant cons.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Construction noise disrupting stays
- Difficulties with parking, including tight spaces and extra fees

Great location close to USC. Room was very clean.
- 4.5/5
very close to USC Had to pay for parking
- 5/5
The front desk gentleman was very nice and professional, The only thing was that he announced my room number with male guests behind me. I was traveling alone so it took me back a little. Usually, the front desk person will just said your room number is on your card.

We truly enjoy my stay at this hotel very clean friendly staff, room was excellent. This will be my go to hotel whenever I’m in South Carolina.
- 5/5
Very clean, excellent staff, had a shuttle to take us to & from our wedding venue
- 5/5

Enjoyed ourcstay
- 5/5
Only stayed one night to move my kid out of college but everything was great. Low ceilings in parking garage
- 3/5
They have done a good job of updating the rooms although our bathroom was tiny and that was the only place I could find both a mirror and plugs. They need a mirror over the desk like area with plugs for hair tools. Do NOT drive a taller vehicle up to the check in area. 6 feet is the maximum height that will fit in the lower garage. We had to do a very tight turn around, check in and unload and then move our vehicle to the parking garage behind the hotel. There were hotel access doors on the upper level, two sets of manual doors which makes it very cumbersome for taking luggage in and out. There is a fridge in the room and a coffee maker that takes those teabag type coffee servings. Don’t waste your time, it was awful. VERY LIMITED hours to get coffee and/or food in the lobby area. I think it ends at 10AM. No complimentary coffee is available, or water. Ample place to place your luggage on “racks” inside the room. No personal safe in the room. Good place for a quick one night stay with plans to eat all meals out. Don’t bring valuables you will not keep in your possession at all times, such as a iPad or even controlled medications because of the lack of a safe. Staff was very polite, elevators were roomy and quick. We did not use the outside area or fitness center.

Our absolute fav in Columbia! Great pool, food, bar and people. Love the big window rooms. Clean and roomy.
- 5/5
Comfortable beds, clean facilities. The noise from the street, and the price was more than what it said on line….
- 5/5
Very nice spot to stay in Columbia SC for work and play. The zoo is so fun here
- 5/5
Lovely hotel very clean very nice staff
- 5/5
Great location for the colonial arena ! Clean and accommodating!
- 5/5
perfect location for graduation!
- 5/5
Parking is very tight but convenient.. Room was clean and updated bathroom with modern shower. Great air conditioning with adjustable thermostat! Bedlinens were satisfactory; not a high thread count but clean.
- 2/5
Unfortunately our room was sub par as far as cleanliness. I told the front desk after checking in that the toilet seemed dirty with some type of residue on the base and floor. Although they apologized nothing was done . The next morning checking out I mentioned it again and said no one followed thru with us. They just kinda shrugged it off. The hotel staff was nice overall and the hotel itself is an actual 4 star but the lack of care or attention to our room situation left me with a bad experience.
- 2/5
I was very disappointed as my friend Ian’s I had adjoining rooms, a king and a 2 queen. I was staying a day later than her and for some reason the staff could not give me the double and her the king. I stayed in the double and was forced to switch for my last night. I left a sweatshirt on the bed (absolutely positive) in the double and alerted the front desk that same day. The room had been serviced but no sweatshirt was returned. It did not disappear on its own but minimal effort was made to find it. There were only 3 places it could be..with the cleaning staff, the new guest in that room or with the linens. I still gave yet to resolve this. Very unsatisfactory and will not be booking another Marriott for my travels.
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 2/5
The entire staff was amazing with the exception of one man behind the counter (and I think he was tge manager). He seemed to have a chip on his shoulder because I booked through "a third party" and was canceling one night of our 2 night reservation. I didn't realize how hilly the area was which was quite difficult getting around with a wheelchair. I've been charged for both nights and now need to fight that.
- 5/5
Everything went well. We were accommodated to with excellent service.
- 3.5/5
Shower with very hot water and great water pressure Parking deck super cramped Bathroom cramped No free waters or water filling station When I first walked in my room it seemed to have that old hotel smell. The details stated an onsite restaurant but it's a small bistro with what seemed to be prepared food.

Location to colonial life Colosseum is perfectThe hotel is clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay.
- 3/5
The space was clean but you had to stand over the toilet to shut the bathroom door and there was no bathroom fan and the door itself looked like it had been chewed on by animals. Also the housekeeping kept knocking on the door, there was no do not disturb sign to hang, it was very annoying.
- 3/5
small bathroom
- 5/5
The stay was great would come again
- 4/5
Parking was very tight. They were understaffed in the bar area the night we were there. But the ONE lady that was working and doing everything, was amazing!
- 3/5
Room as clean and comfortable. Recently updated. Conveniently located to USC.
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Amazing location. Next to the university and the Koger Center - where I had my commencement.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Clean very nice room and lobby.

Dining not good. Pool really not good. Staff were fine.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us

Front desk was always so helpful and friendly! The hotel has a courtesy van to drive you around downtown Columbia. And the room was very clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 4/5
Perfect location to stay for moving my daughter out of her dorm. The hotel was clean and room was very nice. My only issue was the street noise but I should have expected that with hotel on one of the main streets. Overnight was fine but early morning you start hearing cars/motorcycles/trucks. Maybe less noise if your room isn’t facing the main street (I believe it’s Assembly).
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Great location, easy to get to USC campus. Staff were friendly and helpful. Property and room was clean and comfortable. Parking $10 per day but you could come and go - there were spaces but a little tricky to get in and out of if you have anything larger than a sedan. Overall great stay!
- 4.5/5
Great location. Close by to USC No complaints

Great location. Close by to USC No complaints
- 3/5
Extremely noisy road traffic and construction all night long. Fitness center was very limited. Rooms and the facilities are clean and nice and convenient location. Just way too noisy all night long.
- 5/5
Did not realize it when booking but this is my second stay in this hotel. Great location for SCU visit. Friendly staff and well kept facility. Will be back again
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Good signage for parking
- 4/5
Clean room, nice feel to the room. Well lit parking. Easy to walk to grab dinner.
- 3/5
We had no room service
- 3/5
Room was facing the Main Street. It was very loud outide with the train whistle blowing late at night and the sounds of cars speeding down the street. We were in a room with an adjoining room. The neighbors were very loud and the doors allowed a lot of noise into our room. It was very difficult to sleep well.
- 4/5
The parking deck is a NIGHTMARE- there should be warning about how tight the ramp is and instructions on how to use the alternate access included with reservations. I was there with family and friends and ALL of us had that same issues with the parking. Also the street noise is horrible- but I guess y’all already know that since you offer noise cancelling sound makers.

It was close to where I needed to be in Columbia. Clean and comfortable. Great staff I really wish you had a restaurant.

The folks in the restaurant/café area were excellent too, friendly and welcoming. The set up in the restaurant/lounge area was great to gather as a big group to watch h sports games and talk

Andrew the manager, was fantastic! He gave excellent recommendations, friendly and really seemed to care about our stay. The folks in the restaurant/café area were excellent too, friendly and welcoming. The set up in the restaurant/lounge area was great to gather as a big group to watch h sports games and talk
- 4/5
Great location and excellent service
- 2/5
They have noise machines in rooms but they don't help much. People next door were college kids - had to call security at 3am. Told staff. They don't care. "Oh, sorry about that." - was all they said. Don't stay there.
- 5/5
This hotel was clean and comfortable with a friendly staff in an excellent location. Moreover, it provided good value given the price of a room.
- 3/5
Lighting in all areas is garish and operating room harsh.
- 4/5
So hotel was really convenient to the university right around the corner from the honors dorm. I love that it had a pool as well.
- 3/5
Beds were not comfortable. Did not sleep well. Street noise was loud as well. But it is a city after all. No waters in the room. Had to go downstairs and ask. Also only 3 bath towels in each room.
- 4/5
The room and staff were absolutely wonderful. Honestly, I would’ve given this five stars except for the windows that make up the entire side of the hotel must be older, and it is very noisy from the outside. The staff did have earplugs available for everyone, which was lovely. The staff and cleanliness of the room which seems to have just been redone could not have been better.
- 4/5
Great hotel! Good experience!
- 5/5
Parking has narrow spaces and tight turns. Didn't have breakfast I think they charge for it.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, pretty quiet, staff way nice, but bathroom is small.
- 3/5
Hotel was in a great location and walkable for visiting USC, however seemed dated and bare minimum from an accommodations standpoint. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was nice to have the bar/breakfast options for quick bites. We've stayed in much nicer Courtyards so were expecting a bit more in the rooms. If you're there for a night, it's fine, but cheaper hotels in the area are just as convenient, newer, and nicer. The parking garage was very tight, so if you stay there, and especially if you have a larger car, recommend parking on the upper deck for easier in and out.
- 3/5
No available food or drinks
- 5/5
AND, WHEN THE FRONT DESK SAID THAT "SOME PEOPLE ARE LIGHT SLEEPERS, SO WE OFFER THESE AMENITIES," I SUPPOSE I SHOULD HAVE RUN. BUT THE PLOT OF THE STORY IS THAT A TRAIN THAT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE WINDOW BLARES ITS WHISTLE FOR 1 MINUTE EVERY 15 MINUTES AFTER 11 AT NIGHT UNTIL ABOUT 2-ISH. THE FRONT DESK GUY TOLD ME THAT IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVEY NIGHT, BUT IF IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE THERE, IT IS A BUMMER. DON'T BOOK THROUGH A 3RD PARTY SITE BC THEN YOU CANNOT HAGGLE FOR ANY MONEY BACK.
- 5/5
Shops and restaurants nearby
- 3/5
Not the quality I expected from a Marriott. We got a room with a connecting door and could clearly hear what was going on in the next room. When it was dark, you could see light under the door, so no sound proofing or privacy. Pictures are deceiving for the room, no fan in the bathroom. Eh, it served it's purpose. Pool area needs some work. Pictures are slightly deceiving.
- 5/5
Great experience. Close enough to walk to the Colonial Life Center.
- 3/5
No free coffee , pool was worn down, shower had hair in it when we arrived :/ not the cleanest hotel …
- 5/5
clean, supportive staff, and nice size rooms.
- 3/5
Shower in room was terrible. I got more water out of the sink faucet then in shower.
- 5/5
Convenience to everything is great. Staff is always friendly. Don’t love the new $10 parking fee.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean. In a good area and the staff was very friendly
- 4/5
It was small with a limited amount of equipment.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the hotel staff was great. Convenient location with easy parking.
- 5/5
Had an awesome time here
- 4/5
Yes room was very clean. Plenty of towels. Bed comfortable. I don not like being nickel and dimed for everything. No complementary anything. Not even complementary coffee. No breakfast. Gouging me seven dollars for a plain bagel and five dollars for a cup of coffee in the morning is just obscene. You should think very much about small things like that that won’t cost you much money that just look like price gouging.
- 5/5
Comfortable bed and pillow, a must for me! Clean room and great staff!
- 5/5
Staff was so friendly! Great location, easy parking. The first night our air handler was SO loud. We told them the next morning and they took care of it right away. This was our second time staying there and we will definitely be back again.
- 2/5
Rooms were updated and Hotel was nice. Plumbing wasn't working on 9th floor, staff did not seem concerned.
- 5/5
The room was clean. The bed was comfy. Everyone was super nice!!
- 5/5
Excellent staff!!
- 3/5
Clean room , great location next to campus. Our room did not get cleaned/ serviced .
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Nice size room but the bathroom was on the small side. Liked that the hotel is within walking distance from University of South Carolina.
- 5/5
Yes!
- 2/5
First room had wet carpet. Moved to a room behind the elevator and stayed the night but could hear it making a squeaking sound all early morning. Moved again but the room had a bad smell and a clogged toilet that they couldn’t fix and finally moved us to a room that had no issues. The staff was great and very helpful. I’m thinking this was just bad luck but it was a pain to move that many times.

I am from out of state and had to reschedule my flight back in order to leave the state of SC. I explained this to the Courtyard by Marriott and they said I needed to explain my case to Expedia. Expedia confirmed that the hotel was only able to refund me for one night (not 2 nights) even though I was physically unable to get there because of the snow. I am a repeat customer at the Marriott and all I am asking for is a refund for both nights. Expedia had said that Marriott should be able to approve this. I ended up catching a flight on Friday, so I could avoid the airline cancellations for Sat/Sunday. But yet Courtyard by Marriott on Assembly still had to charge me for that night, even though I could not physically get there. Please make this right. Thank you so much.
- 5/5
Spotless room, excellent staff, convenient location, quite rooms, amazing breakfast.
- 5/5
The toom was spotless! The entire staff was awesome! The location was great! The amenities were amazing! We loved everything about this hitel.
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing. The staff was very nice!
- 5/5
Staff was very pleasant & rooms great as always
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here during the most recent holiday. Check-in was smooth, the room and main areas were spotless. Overall great property!
- 5/5
Parking is not easy as the garage is very low , staff was super nice , breakfast was delicious and cooked to order easy walk to the concert
- 3/5
I understand property is located on the Campus of USC however; the leat uou can offer is full amenities. Regards if the saty is of season or not
- 5/5

- 4/5
Good
- 3/5
No hard wired internet .Thermostat battery were dead.Very noisy room was onnthe fron and stree was cery all times of night. The guest above me Friday night were extremely lod.The staff was nice
- 5/5
Multiple things stood out to me: top-notch customer service. The facility, when you walk in, had a great aroma, in the lobby area. The rooms were clean. Everything was perfect. I had a great time.
- 3/5
Ethernet Cionnection that actually works
- 4/5
The hotel is clean but if you book the room with any kind of discount they will but you on the 3rd floor where they fill all the room and it gets noisy. I asked to be moved to the 2nd floor and told there would be a $90 charge for the same type room that I already had. Very strange.
- 3/5
Hotel charged me $20.00 more on my first night than the rate I booked at via Hotels.com. I am not happy about that! This location is very noisy all through the night with fire truck sirens, train horns and loud sports cars as are seen/heard all over Columbia. Choose this location for convenience only not if you want to get a decent night’s sleep bc it won’t happen!
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Newly renovated. Clean .
- 4/5
Perfect location for concert at Colonial Life. The bar was very crowded before the concert, but the staff was friendly and working hard to take care of everyone.
- 4/5
It was so brief, couldn’t tell you
- 5/5
The room was outstanding, the staf were nice and they had a shuttle to go see Stevie Nicks concert. All in all 10 out of 10. Only complaint i can make is parking should come with the room.
- 5/5
Great parking. Easy check in. Room was very clean and spacious. Manager Andrew was exceptionally kind.
- 5/5
Fast service and great perks!
- 5/5
Easy parking. Clean, spacious room at a good price in a decent location for walking to the convention center and downtown.
- 4/5
Clean room and friendly staff. The thermostat in t
- 3/5
Room was nice. Parking was 10/day and lot was not the easiest to park unless you parked on level 2 that was outside and accessible by anyone walking by. There were not a lot of parking spots available. Breakfast was not included as mentioned on the booking. You could hear noises outside through the night. When you were sleeping
- 4/5
The hotel was nice and clean. It was walking distance from the arena HOWEVER. There is a train track very near and it seems to run at night. The hotel offered ear plugs - that should give you an idea as to how loud it is.
- 5/5
From registering to my departure everything was top shelf!
- 2/5
The hotel was clean and very up to date. But, the man at the front desk was extremely rude. I have never checked into a hotel and had someone talk to my family the way he did. He wouldn't even tell us where our room was. I told him we have a U-haul trailer and adked is parking available and we were told you have to pay for 2 spots and there was room, even through I asked prior to booking we had to wait an hour before we could get parking. I will never stay again, nothing to the hotel, but extremely rude male at the check in desk. I never leave a bad review until now
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Walkable to USC. Great staff.
- 5/5
Staff was courteous
- 5/5
Peaceful
- 5/5
Hotel was very clean overall. Never made it to breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly. Great location, Highly recommend
- 5/5
The staff went above and beyond to open up the swimming pool and set up chairs for us. At breakfast Sharina was exceptionally friendly and helpful to clean tables , bring out our food and overrall so pleasant . All of the staff were so friendly. The location was perfect to be near USC campus .
- 5/5
This property was so nice. Pristine. Less than a 15 minute walk to the Colonial Life Arena for a show. Staff was super helpful and friendly. We'll def stay here again.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay and would stay again. The cleaning ladies are sweet hearts. I wish I knew their names for this review especially the one with locs.
- 5/5
The bathroom sink was clogged
- 5/5
Clean room. Good fitness center great staff!
- 5/5
The property was very nice and convenient to the venue
- 4/5
I expected for for my money.
- 5/5
I’m surprised by some of the bad reviews because the staff from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was very kind and hospitable. The bartender was lovely and made our stay even better. We instantly felt as if we have known her because of how warm she was.
- 4/5
Rooms were decent size, bathrooms were clean. No safety deposit box available. On USC campus!
- 5/5
Ryan at the front desk was very friendly and informative. He made our stay so easy!
- 5/5
Stay was a 10/10
- 5/5
Fantastic stay
- 5/5
Great location. Great staff.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was very clean and the staff were all very polite and friendly. The food from the bistro downstairs was really great. There is a pool but no hot tub. The parking garage is a very tight squeeze, and there is no valet parking. The hotel is within walking distance of several different restaurants which is very convenient. The room was a little noisy though and there was a lot of street noise we could hear throughout the night. I would stay here again, especially if I had an event at USC.
- 5/5
Hotel staff very friendly, a lot of dinning and site seeing options within walking distance of hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly hotel was clean and the breakfast was very good. I would say the gym could use a little more in it as there was only one bench to do weights on and no machine at all. I was fortunate to be the only one doing weights both times I used it but I could see this being an issue - would recommend for the size of the hotel to add another bench or add a machine weight system.
- 5/5
Everyone is so friendly. Very clean
- 5/5
Love it there very comfortable.
- 5/5
I loved everything about the property. I have stayed at this property before and love it. I used the pool this time and sat outside by the outdoor couches and fireplace and really enjoyed it. Excellent stay
- 5/5
So close to the university, Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Convenient bc our daughter goes to Univeristy of SC
- 5/5
Excellent location for attending USC events.
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
it was nice
- 4/5
The hotel was in a good location but the only issue we had was the air conditioner was extremely loud.
- 4/5
The property was well situated and gave good access to Columbia’s downtown
- 5/5
Everything is great except fot
- 5/5
Onsite parking was secure and convenient. Room was clean and as expected.
- 5/5
Location was key for us because we were visiting Univ of SC for a few days.
- 5/5
The staff at this hotel is what made it stand out amongst the competition. They were beyond welcoming and friendly and communicative. There is a fair amount of road noise with a street facing room but that is not a reflection on the hotel or staff but more just a fact of the downtown location. I will be staying here for each of my visits while visiting my student over the next 4 years!
- 5/5
This is my favorite place to stay in Columbia. Good location. Very nice hotel. Fee parking. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
This property is basically on campus of U of SC. It’s a basic Marriott Courtyard but …. The staff is what sets it apart. Never have I stayed at a hotel and been treated so wonderfully. EVERY staff member made us feel wrlcome, was helpful, and we spotted them soo much. Only recommendation is the bar area is Altra bright at all hours which is kinda off putting but prob by design 😂.
- 1/5
Will never stay at that property again Disappointed is an understatement
- 5/5
Central location to all of downtown Columbia. Beautiful hotel and great staff
- 5/5
Great location for usc Clean. Nice staff
- 5/5
Couldn’t have asked for more convenient access to USC and location for the team camp. Nice place, pool, gym all great!!
- 4/5
Very welcoming staff and close to the USC campus.
- 4/5
Ok
- 5/5
Nice, clean hotel near USC campus. Perfect for our needs
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean hotel in and out. In a decent location and the room was very clean and comfy, however I would have wanted a better view versus the awing.
- 5/5
Nice property. Ideal location to Colonial Life Arena.
- 5/5
Nice property
- 4/5
Very clean and comfortable
- 1/5
Toilet broken. Asked to have fixed and wasn’t creating a disgusting situation. Should have been offered a refund.
- 3/5
It’s not bad at all. Seems like it’s a decent area if you have an event around USC or a game.
- 5/5
Great location. Great front desk staff. Cafe and bar terribly overpriced for the service and quality.
- 5/5
The staff is very accommodating and friendly. It was a bit noisy with the train nearby but overall a positive experience and I would stay there again.
- 4/5
It was very noisy unfortunately. The location is nice being close to the campus but trains and other external things made it noisy and tough to sleep.
- 5/5
Overall wonderful experience with this hotel.
- 5/5
Perfect spot for a visit to USC. Easy to walk all around campus. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was amazing, especially the shuttle driver Cynthia who went out of her way to show us some things in Columbia. We will definitely be staying here again!
- 5/5
This place is prefect distance from the campus and other activities.
- 5/5
Very nice and clean hotel. Comfortable beds. Nice pool. Great location downtown.
- 5/5
Great location and Andrew are desk made it a great experience. There was an unexpected maintenance issue in our room when we checked in and he made it right with no hesitation. Also greater is every night and remembered why we were there.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to family and friends.
- 2/5
Was expecting for the price. I paid free breakfast because that’s what my son told me got there and yeah I guess we didn’t pay enough to get the free breakfast so very disappointed in that.
- 5/5
Everything was awesome
- 5/5
Clean room Excellent service
- 5/5
Quietness of the hotel as a whole.
- 5/5
The staff was nice and welcoming. The breakfast was really good.
- 4/5
Very friendly staff to include the bistro, housekeeping and front desk.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Loved everything about my stay. 3rd time at the hotel and will definitely be back
- 5/5
It is across the street from the college. So many intelligent friendly and fun people. All walks of life. I sat at the bar had a drink. I ordered a burger and immediately met friends on each side of me. So friendly and fun. Even the service was exceptional and friendly.
- 5/5
Convenient location.
- 3/5
Property was..... Eh? The room size was good. There was no central light just various lamps around room you could only turn on and off at base. Had mini fridge but no safe, the shower was adequate , tv was weirdly off to the side from bed. The view was of the pool at ground level so shades just stayed shut. Our biggest gripe was we put the do not disturb sign on door and when we returned from an outting the sign was gone (never did find it again) and our room had been tied up (bed made and items piled together yet strangely no new towels and nothing missing so not like a theif. Just irritating. The staff was curteous and professional, but the elevators had button damage, when we exited room this morning the hall had trash it it all round like we missed a major party. The parking lot was serviceable but has a 6' hight limit and frankly difficult to navigate lanes/spaces. The shuttle was nice when it ran.
- 4/5
Thanks
- 5/5
Very pleased with my stay there! I will definitely book another stay the next time I’m in town.
- 5/5
The hotel was lovely. Very friendly staff. Parking was easy and covered. Beds were comfy.
- 5/5
It's a very convenient location and was very clean. Staff was nice
- 5/5
Perfect spot when visiting USC
- 5/5
Great property!
- 5/5
Got there early and my room was ready! Staff was very friendly. Great location to visit our son at UofSC
- 3/5
Our stay was ok. The only issue is that
- 5/5
My favorite of all the nearby hotels. Clean, organized and friendly

The location is perfect and super close to USC. The rooms are a little dated, just okay. The staff was amazing!

I was shocked when there was no hand cream in the room. Also no water in the room. Two different prices in the lobby. The front desk person Lenny was in a terrible mood and was asking if he wasn't clear in what he kept repeating to me. I said you are clear but the woman over there said something different. He then got upset bc he thought I was taping our conversation on my phone but I had just been "talk to text" and it was still on. He made me feel like I was doing something so wrong and said he was "embarrassed " and he was all over the place. I travel extensively and have not had a front desk person act so erratic. I decided to end the conversation bc I don't think he could handle anymore. He was very very unprofessional in my opinion.

Convenient for visiting universty but costly for a room. Parking spots are very tight. Desk staff was friendly.

The Staff was amazing and very helpful. Perfect location.

The property was very, very nice, clean and inviting. The staff was nice and definitely provided great customer service. My only caution is they had a horrible time checking me in because I prepaid for my stay via Hotels.com. They actually charges me again ( more) for the stay and I had to make multiple trips to the front desk and have the General Manager intervene to resolve the issue. I loved the hotel and would stay again but I think I would book directly with Marriott.

The atmosphere was amazing. The lobby smelled good and very clean. The front desk staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Great location to basketball arena and restaurants.

Very nice staff and hotel was clean and conveniently located to SC campus. We could have walked to the basketball game. The food in the restaurant is also very good.

Good location. Close to many things.

The sheets were rough and itchy. First time I've ever experienced that at a hotel. There was no lotion in the room. It seemed like a very bare bones place. Breakfast is not free, nor is there any service. The only option is to order off a board that is Starbucks. We will not stay there again.

Very convenient to USC, clean room, nice staff.

Never had a bad stay at this location

Service was great! Very friendly staff all the way around. Unfortunately the noise outside on work being done on the street was very loud and kept us awake. The walls are paper thin between rooms so that didn't help either. We may have had bad luck with placement of our room, but everything else was fine. Great location for the college tour.

I was very impressed with all of the employees; Ms Minnie at the desk, Latia in the kitchen. Could not ask for more personable, helpful and friendly people to represent Marriott!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. We didn’t have to hike our belongings to the hotel because the parking was so convenient. The decor was clean modern but still pretty inviting. The check-in process was easy and the representative at the desk was friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is located in the heart of beautiful Columbia, so expect some city noise at night and in the early morning, trains and ambulances. Overall, our stay was excellent. I would stay here again and recommend it to a friend.

Breakfast was advertised but not available. I had to eat at IHOP. My only complaint.
