Reviews
The Biltmore Hotel is a beautiful and historic property with a stunning pool and friendly staff. Guests enjoy the elegant and spacious rooms, delicious food, and excellent service. However, some guests have complained about the lack of drawer space, small bathrooms, and high prices for amenities such as mini fridges and breakfast.

The Biltmore is a place like no other. If you've been here, you know what I mean; if you haven't... just do it! You'll be so glad you did. We go every year for our anniversary in June, so we're always there during pool season, and that pool is one incredible place to be. It's bigger than a small lake and the atmosphere is heavenly. The Fontana restaurant is great for supper, and also breakfast. The bar alongside the pool is perfect for lunch and a little drink-ee-poo when the sun gets a tad too hot on the old skin. The rooms are luxurious and grand, no matter the size or layout; comfortable beds, sophisticated bathroom, robes to wear in the night, so great. We love the Biltmore, we're fans you might say. Those who run the place and those who make the place run are courteous and friendly and even more important, they are knowledgeable. Make sure to spend a few leisurely and peaceful days at the Biltmore. Oh, and one of my favorite features, on every floor, along the length of every corridor, are large framed pictures covering the entire history of both the Biltmore and the city of Coral Gables.

The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables exceeded every expectation — from the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel like a true guest of honor, delivering the kind of gracious, attentive hospitality that only a legendary property like this can pull off.

Beautiful clean and spacious rooms.

Uniqueness of the old Hotel. The HUGE pool. How they’ve maintained the old but made it feel new.
- 5/5
Lovely period piece hotel with all the bells and whistles. The only disappointment was the restaurant, La Fontana, for dinner. They were out of much of what was on the menu, and waitstaff changed shifts in the middle of our meal.

The hotel was amazing. The Victorian style architecture was awesome.
- 3/5
The hotel is architecture is beautiful and the staff helping with luggage were friendly. When we arrived the room had a bad smell. We called the front desk and they kindly found us another room. We stayed on the weekend and all of the events caused an inconvenience with the use the lobby and parking. Visited the Pool restaurant. For some reason, we were served after a couple who arrived after us? Definitely not a $700 a night experience!
- 5/5
The biltmore is a stately property, very convenient to U Miami and with lovely amenities. Thr rooms are a bit dated and worn but clean and comfortable beds. We enjoyed our stay. The pool is incredibly large and a wonderful place to spend the afternoon.
- 5/5
Excellent property with classic charm. The staff went above and beyond and provided excellent service. The Sunday brunch was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. We were in town for a wedding and had a wonderful experience.

The whole experience was underwhelming. My room was dusty, the shower took so long for the water to get hot, for a minute I thought they didn’t have hot water. Also, mold strips started to come out of crevices in the shower. Gross. The front desk staff are robotic. No personality. The only pleasant individual, was the young valet parker with the wavy hair neck length that worked there Wednesday. The Biltmore is not what it used to be. The “W” blows them out of the water.

The hotel & the grounds are beautiful. On Expedia, we were booked for VIP, however, I feel we were given a room that is in need of refurbishing…bathroom is way over due and our room was located right across from the elevators in which you head the dinging of the elevators!
- 5/5
I was very surprised with how well our stay went. The grounds were beautiful, staff extremely pleasant and our room very comfortable.
- 3/5
Beautiful, historic property with a fabulous pool. But rooms desperately need an upgrade. They are dark, heavy, and way overstuffed with velvet and brocade, which is not what one wants in the tropics. The whole property looks like it could seriously use a deep cleaning.

- 4/5
Historic building, good restaurants, pool and golf facilities. The building shows it age and although the room was well decorated and comfortable the general condition of the building fabric especially outside is in need of refurbishing, one lady at the Italian restaurant wasn’t that helpful when we were considering making a reservation, was the only low experience as the rest of the staff and guests were polite and nice to talk to. Good hotel but for the rate would need modernisation especially with a resort tax of circa $99 night. Unlikely to stay again but was worth a visit
- 4/5
The rating overall was Excellent! The staff in the bar was sub par! About 12 people in bar and 3 people working. After waiting 20 minutes for service we left very frustrated. We went up to bar and bar tender brushed us aside saying someone would come. She did but was extremely rude
- 4/5
We had to move our room because I had reserved a king bed and they placed us in a room with a queen bed. A large amount of the chaise lounges at the pool were broken. When we arrived early in the morning, the pool area was littered with dirty towels and food items from the day before. Not enough coffee in the room. Great bathroom and comfy bed.
- 3/5
Hotel is very nice - a grand hotel from the past - service is very good, as is food. However late at night there were VERY loud motorcycle noises and in middle of night a prone in adjacent room rang for several minutes with no answer, so difficult to get a good night of sleep.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff. Spotless room with a lovely large terrace.

Checking was 4:00, I did not get in the room until after 5:00, which made me and my children late for dinner plans. Staff was helpful trying to speed things up, but didn’t help the fact the whole point of staying was to checking, clean up before our dinner plans. Beautiful hotel, but this was disappointing , and a bad welcome.

It's a 100 year old hotel that looks and smells like its 100 years old. Outdoor areas are lush and quaint. The rooms and main areas are tired, campy, and smell. They have caged birds in the entry way (poor things). The surrounding neighborhood is lovely but would avoid this hotel unless you can't smell or see well.

We had an amazing stay at The Biltmore for our anniversary! Upon arrival, which was very early for a check in, around 10:00am, they had our Expedia One Key VIP perks already noted for us, and walked us through what they were able to offer right on the spot - early check in, a free room upgrade, and a resort credit! All without us even having to ask - they were prepared and happy to treat us like VIPs! Our room was stunning and housekeeping was wonderful. Every meal was delicious, and all of the menus were so unique from each other. Every food & beverage outlet had their own special mocktail list, too, which was so fun for a mother-to-be to enjoy alongside my husband. The signature Sunday brunch was an absolute highlight - the best brunch we’ve ever had! The pool is breathtaking and we spent time everyday there. The attendant who greets you and helps you access the pool every morning is the kindest and sweetest man - we loved him! There was a large wedding that took place for a few days while we were staying at the hotel, but you truly would never really know it - the staff was so great at running a large event as well as tending to all of the hotel guests like there was no distraction whatsoever. We also enjoyed a beautiful round of golf - the course was well manicured and played really well - it was a highlight of the trip. Lastly, my husband got a haircut in the salon and I enjoyed a facial and scalp treatment - the technician and the stylist were both wonderful.

Excellent property, very unique and exciting to see every corner. The pool is insane and I could have stayed in there for days! Staff was extremely nice and helpful! The room was spacious and had super tall ceilings! I loved how we could walk around anywhere on the grounds and take pics, total exploration!

A great hotel
- 1/5
Worst experience with this hotel, we had breakfast included but they denied on checkin. The bathroom was so small that it felt like claustrophobic. They didn't even had hand faucet and when asked the receptionist then they weren't able to understand as english language wasn't being spoken in that hotel. The staff was all Spanish and were not able to converse in english. There was no late menu even for the in-room dining, and they refused to even make anything for us.

A few problems with the room made the experience less than perfect. The room was exactly as the photos show, but we were greeted with a very bad smell coming from the sewer upon arrival. We asked to change rooms and the hotel immediately complied. However, the new room had an old moldy, dusty smell. We decided not to ask for a new change since we had plans and were running late for them. Another problem was the water pressure: it was really bad in the afternoon, to the point that we thought the hotel was running out of water. Showers were made impossible at this time. Late in the evening, there was a better water pressure. I related the problem to the front desk upon check out and they were sympathetic, but did not know the problem existed or what might have caused it the previous night.
- 5/5
Amazing property , romantic, gorgeous, the absolute best food and service
- 5/5
The Biltmore is beautiful but tired, trees growing out of the gutters, tiles missing from the courtyard walls?? If your not looking at the details and only ever see the positives like my lady, it’s perfect.
- 5/5
Beautiful property!
- 3/5
Was closed”. No notice. We had to go in town to eat. Pictures of hotel are not relevant. It looks worse. We booked the night, checkin is at 4 pm. Pool close early and in am when we went to the pool to “relax” bunch of ppl came for swimming class, loud, walking over us, shouting, taking over the pool. We had to leave. Again, no notice that pool is rented for classes! We spent a Lots of money to relax and it was a mess.

Old but beautiful property, especially the pool and restaurant areas
- 5/5
The Biltmore is my go to hotel when visiting the Miami area. I love the beautiful architecture, the pool area and the service.
- 5/5
The pool and restaurants were very nice. Staff was lovely.
- 2/5
Hotel seemed nice, but was very dated and carpet, etc had not been updated. This caused a cleanliness issue. Room had spots by the drapes where there was a collection of bugs, and debris. Service was good, and hotel was likely very nice at one point, but would not stay there again.
- 4/5
The hotel and the room though have a old smell like musky, only downside for me. Might be time for a renovation

Property is jaded grandeur from a bygone era with areas in need of better maintenance... ceiling in reception sets the tone. Beds are very comfortable as are the rooms. Bathroom is is a good size but unfortunately mine had hair from the previous occupant, dirty mirror and bathmat. If you're going for golf then well worth the stay. Would not recommend using the courtyard Italian restaurant for lunch as there was no one to seat and great ... I had to go inside and find a hostess, service was slow.. I was the only person sat outside .. probably 5 tables occupied in total, most of whom had finished. Strange when paying the bill as my cc was taken away from the table.. server gone for some time.. then brought me a keypad for my pin that was absolutely filthy. The food had been excellent but the state of the keypad then made me question general cleanliness of the behind scenes service areas.
- 5/5
The food was excellent - all the staff were very friendly

I had the absolute best time at the Biltmore. The hotel is so beautiful and service was impeccable!! I can’t say enough wonderful things. I loved the spa where I had a facial, massage and body scrub. Jose & Michelle were very skilled. The spa is quite beautiful!! Martha in the ladies locker room is very attentive. Mitchell in the bar is absolutely fun to talk to as well as Dave. The rooms are stunning. Loved my junior suite. The pool was amazing! The boutique was fun to shop with Geraldine! I can’t wait to come back!! For a longer visit!!! Xoxoxo the Biltmore

I had an amazing stay at the beautiful Bailtmore Hotel in Coral Gables! I was warmly greeted by Leah at the front desk, and her service was outstanding. She said my room was ready early, which was such a relief, as I was exhausted from my early flight. My room was absolutely gorgeous-I was overwhelmed by its elegance, and beautiful view of the pool and golf course. I received a credit for the restaurant, and had a delicious meal in the courtyard. In the morning, I wanted to do a walk in Coral Gables, and Janelle was amazing, and gave me several walks to do. I was in MIA for a funeral, and although it was a sad time, the staff at the Baltimore truly lifted my spirits with their amazing service and genuine care for the customer. I had a late check out, which was extremely helpful, and Lazaro at the front desk, helped me store my bags, and I read at the pool until time for my flight. There are not enough words to express my sincere gratitude to Leah, Janelle, Lazaro, and entire staff at the Baltimore for making my stay so special! I plan to return as soon as I can to this beautiful hotel with outstanding staff and service.

Great hotel and great service
- 5/5
Absolutely lovely, historied property that is worth a visit to Miami alone. The staff were all professional and courteous and the amenities are top notch. I love the easy, free self-parking option.
- 5/5
I was really taken back by the complete efficiency and courteous staff, especially the bell and housekeeping staff were outstanding. When I see employees on the lower level work so hard with such kindness that reflects on really good management. Keep it up!
- 5/5
Great place!!!
- 5/5
The pool area is one of the mostly used amenities on the property. It was disgusting! Cups, straws, paper floating on the water. Waiters taking 1/2 hour to receive a drink, cups and food lying all over the place. No excuses, you ever is in charge of the pool area should be fired.
- 5/5
Beautiful nostalgic hotel with grace and excellence. It felt like staying in a palace.
- 5/5
They have the BEST and largest best designed pool anywhere. It’s never crowded, lot’s of room, makes the hotel feel like a waterfront. Everything and everyone is great and classy.
- 3/5
Poorly maintained. the manager when I wrote emails asking about fumigation for mosquitoes at the pool because I wanted to enjoy the morning poolside and wound up splatter more blood than I have seen in a long time while under attack by mosquitoes. I asked why don’t you humate I’ve been in resorts in swamps that don’t have mosquitoes can we improve this and there was no answer just like $177 breakfast for one person where the waiter with a built-in 20% tip did not clear dirty plates clean the table no refill the coffee or water. The manager never responded assuming that’s the manager. Staff said that’s the manager nonexistent in every way How do you run a hospitality for the benefit of people safely and in a healthy manner without care, fruits, complete fruits, I was in the sauna worker comes in holding the door open sets his ladder in there says we have to get out. He has to go to work to do maintenance. The management scheduled maintenance During the hours of operation of the gym facility. Are you kidding me? Where is the intelligence in that the management of this place will possibly sadden you and it’ll have a negative effect on your visit. It seems like most people don’t stay. They come to golf use the gym and go so during your stay a lot of other people using the facilities are localseverything for this hotel is for rent. You have not just the gas but everybody in the Gables trying to get in here while you want to enjoy the place peacefully weird

Beautiful historic property.

Perfectly quiet and luxurious. However, the bathrooms could use a vent and towels need to be plush and soft. Found the towels to be rough for a high end hotel.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and professional. Room was clean and well appointed.
- 4/5
Classic property, right close to MIA airport. Looking a bit aged in some instances, but still holds that legitimate Breakers-quality vibe for a well-discounted price (that doesn’t mean cheap but the value is there comparatively.)

The rooms were clean and comfortable, food was amazing at every establishment (even the little coffee shop/cafe). Beautiful hotel!
- 4/5
Excellent property with ample amount of amenities and a excellent fitness center. Would be a bit more helpful if the housekeeping staff understood and spoke English. Just a heads up that they charge 20% surcharge plus restaurant tax plus state tax for just about everything even if it is for a banana from the coffee shop. This also applies to the $300 bottle of wine you might want to order for your special celebration. Overall, good experience and a very pleasant stay.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about this so-called “luxury” resort. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of disappointing. For the price, I expected at least basic courtesy and cleanliness—what we got was the complete opposite. The service was shockingly bad. Staff were indifferent at best and flat-out rude at worst. Simple questions were met with eye rolls, and requests were ignored or met with attitude. No one seemed interested in helping or even pretending to care that we were guests which was proven over and over as we were denied food service on multiple occasions. But the real deal-breaker? The pool area. It was absolutely filthy. Trash, used cups, dirty napkins everywhere, including in the pool, and around the entire area. Towels were stained, and the lounge chairs, covered in bird poop looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The photos and information on the website are completely misleading. Including the fact that one restaurant was completely closed, and the others close when they feel like it, not according to the hours stated. This place might’ve once been high-end, but it has clearly gone downhill—fast. Actually, we spoke to a couple who use to frequent the BILTMORE 5 years ago and they were shocked at its appearance, filthiness, and the lack of staff. Save your money and your sanity. There are far better places to spend your vacation than this overpriced disaster.

We were floored by the amazing service and accommodation. They gave us our room at 9AM on check in day, we’ve been around the works and have been made to wait even the room is available. Will recommend again and again and we will be back.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, very clean and cared. Amazing service and staff
- 5/5
This is a beautiful hotel and the pool is amazing. Sitting at the Fontana restaurant outside and listening to the birds is amazing too. We also appreciated the excellent service and the VIP perks. Highly recommend this hotel. Wish an alternative could be found to all the plastic water bottles and glasses?
- 4/5
The outside of the property is gorgeous. The inside is showing wear. The room was clean but the showerhead in the bathroom had lvisible limescale. The staff are very friendlyand helpful. Will stay again.
- 1/5
Horrible value for the money. I pd $648 US for a very “tired” poorly modernizes Motel 6 room.
- 1/5
The Pro shop was rude and very obnoxious it ruined our stay the way they treated us was terrible. Spoke down to me and my family and humiliated us. We played golf there and stayed in the hotel. The person in the shop that does the tee times was horrible.
- 1/5
Terrible experience. Hair conditioner is empty. Didn’t find this out while I was half way in the shower all wet. Long hair hair conditioner is a must. Tel in the room didn’t work. I had to walk all the way to use the Hall way tel to get help in wet hair. One of the sink faucet didn’t work. Very few amenities not even Q tips were provided. Very poor service. Not worth the money at all. Will not recommend this hotel to any of my friends. Appreciate someone from Expeditia would cantaxt me. I think I deserve some discount.

I did NOT like the breakfast options or the quality! Usually during season the buffet or menu options are done much better. We ordered buffet ($35.00 not many options and it was similar to Holiday Inn options), and avocado toast ($21.00 waist of money!). You are better off going to a café on Miracle Miles.

What a beautiful property! It was raining torrential downpours so we didn’t get to enjoy all the things nor walk around outside. But even with the weather we loved it so much. Kids got a little swimming time in too. We only stayed one night but wish it could’ve been longer. I’d love to come back some day and stay longer! We ate at the Italian restaurant in the hotel. Superb service and delicious food!

Stayed here on Mother’s Day. Rooms were really nice. Pool had trash and beer cans in it. No staff was cleaning it up. Lots of cups on edge of pool and pool staff were not cleaning up. Just walking by. So we ended up throwing away the cups in our area.

The property and area was beautiful. The staff and support are nice. The room was disappointing. My husband is a big man and we were issued a room w/Queen bed and it was very uncomfortable. The biggest peeve was the location of room. Honestly, and to be fair, I did not ask to change rooms because we were only there for three nights and attending a college graduation - BUT we also had our pet and they gave us a room directly across the elevator and my dog was triggered all day long from the elevator opening and closing and the pinging noise of the elevator reaching the floor…total nightmare. I’ve been to other hotels who know better than to do that…Really annoying. Also very conflicting answers on where my mini poodle could be on the property. I was told she was not allowed anywhere in the lobby or restaurants and pool. Well, our second day at the pool I see two dogs. One is lounging on a lounge chair by the pool and the other under a chair in the outside restaurant. WTH. And my dog is asleep freeing upstairs in the room. So, I quickly remedied that but it would have been nice for the young ladies at check in to be better versed on this amenity. All in all the hotel was close to U of MIA and that’s what we wanted.
