Reviews
The hotel has a great location and friendly staff, but the building is old and rooms are in poor condition. The TV not working properly is a common issue. Noise from the street and parking are also frequent complaints.

It is a good space for the price, it seems like it was an apartment complex turned into and Inn. The room is spacious, there's a mini living room as you enter, the room was also spacious two twin queen beds and it is divided from the living space. Room leads to a small kitchen complete with fridge, microwave, oven/stove, sink and coffee machine. Restroom was a bit tight for my taste but in ok condition. I guess being so close to beach took a toll on the place as baseboards were lifting and or parts missing and taped over but still a danger to little kids, mine almost tripped over the one going into the restroom a couple of times. Walls are thin and they do allow pets so keep that in mind, our upstairs neighbor had a dog and you could hear it walk, thump, bark all night. I may have missed it but there is very limited parking and for a fee, we checked in late and there was nothing left had to drive around a bit until someone left to part on the street.

Place is adorable! The staff is beyond nice and helpful. My daughter lost a squishie on the roof and maintenance gladly helped her get it. The lady at the front desk is so nice. If checking in they will let you park if they have your spot open while you explore the island waiting for check in. No huge frills but clean, comfy and very beach vacation 🌊👙🏖️☀️

Perfect location...within walking distance to the gorgeous Ferry Landing area. We didn't use the bikes this time but have in the past and it's a great way to explore the area

Very clean staff was great
- 4/5
Good location. Parking was easy and secure
- 4/5
Front office staff not very welcoming. The room was clean with the exception of a stain on the sheet. The parking is IF available and not guaranteed. Location is close to the harbor side and very walkable. The room was on the newer side of being a refresh.
- 1/5
There was no self parking available as advertised. I had both a one year old and five year old with me and I did not feel safe . The way the staff handled it was disappointing to say the least. I would never return to this hotel based on my experience with the staff.

Great job renovating this hotel. Convenient location (grocery store and Coronado Brewery right down the street). Rooms are very modern now but still relatively affordable. Parking is a little bit tight, but we were able to get parking on the street the first night. Free bikes are a plus!

Room was clean and had great light. The bed was comfortable and pillows not too soft. The front staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Tommy 😉) and check in was easy and efficient. Would definitely stay again when we’re in the area and recommend

Place was cute. Some things falling apart like pool Gates, steps were a little dangerous to get in and out of the rooms. There was no water pressure but the water was hot. Maintenance started blowing leaves in parking lot Sunday morning Mother's Day. Checkout is 11. Tried to get a coffee from the lobby at 11:00. They said we turned the machine off. No too friendly

This is my go-to hotel in Coronado. The property is centrally located right on Orange Ave. The front desk staff is always helpful & friendly. My room was well appointed & clean. There is a pool on site & an outside area with patio chairs & Corn Hole.
- 5/5
The inn was so cute and very much a beach inn. The staff had gone above and beyond for me and my daughter. There was another guest parked in my designated parking spot and after I went into the front, the gal quickly sent out a mass text to all guests and like that, the person moved. Im

Great place to stay. Clean room, comfy bed, relaxed vibe, friendly staff. Very convenient location. Short walk to market, restaurants, and the bay.

No microwave ,no room service, no way to contact the office but to go there,no phone no working ice maker the refrigerator is room didn't freeze a cup of ice

The location is great except for all the honking and yelling on Friday morning. That was annoying.

The location is great. Pet fee is reasonable. The location is great except for all the honking and yelling on Friday morning. That was annoying.
- 5/5
Parking on site, free bike rentals. Beds were comfortable. Shower was backing up in drain but they were quick to fix when i notified them.
- 4/5
The parking was close to our room, but it is 10 dollars to park there. It had what we needed for the day, but since it is close to the street it is very loud and you can hear everything. That was the only inconvenience for us.
- 4/5
Room was ok clean is located on the Main Street so probably not a good idea for a light sleeper maybe ear plugs will help Overall we will come back if we around the area again
- 5/5
Pet friendly and clean! We loved having assigned parking spaces as parking on the island is sparse.
- 3/5
Parking was easy. The room could use a more detailed clean. No kitchen. The refrigerator is in the bathroom which I found strange, but assumed it's because of the amount of space in the room.
- 3/5
Very loud in the morning starting at 5am. Could hear every car going by. Overall safe and perfect for a night stop
- 4/5
This is a nice property. The rates are reasonable considering this is Coronado Island. The property is small but the rooms are clean and appear to be somewhat renovated. The internet and TV are reliable, it is nice to have a mini refrigerator and there is access to bicycles although we did not have time to try them out. This is an Inn however and not a hotel. Parking is limited and the first night I had to park on the street as all the spaces were used. The neighborhood is very safe though. The hot water took about 5 minutes to show up in the shower. I'm told they are working on that. The rooms do not have closets and our room did not have a dresser. Come prepared to make use of any desk, or coffee table drawers. Finally, the alcove where the sink is, does not have a door. So if you wake up early before your partner and turn on the light, it will wake them up too. Easy fix is to install a heavy curtain. Overall this is a nice place, in a good location. Should I come back though, I will be better prepared.
- 2/5
There were limited parking spots available. The room was not clean. There was dust and dirt on the baseboards and the walls were dirty. The staff was very friendly.

I loved my stay each time has been amazing! The staff is always so kind and helpful
- 3/5
Limited parking so I didn’t get an on-site parking space despite requesting one when I checked in online the day prior to arriving. I had to park on the street about a block away which is not ideal when schlepping luggage. Also, there was no hot water in the morning until someone complained. Delayed my shower about 15 minutes. I wanted to support a non-chain hotel and was extremely disappointed.
- 3/5
Cockroaches in room, room was not tidied after the first night (I only stayed two), room was basically in the alley- I’m not exaggerating.
- 5/5
A nice property with great rooms and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back...

Cobwebs above the ceiling fan. Mold in the shower. No exhaust fan in The bathroom. Very little channels on the TV worked.

I expected this place to be generic for the price but was very happily surprised at how clean and modern the room was. It was quiet and the only noise being from the road quieted down early. Restaurants were just a block away so we just walked everywhere.

Nothing to do with the Inn, but on one of the days we stayed there ppl driving were honking at each other, too early in the morning. That was bothersome since our room was the first one facing the street and we can hear all that mess.

I love the little bungalow rooms. Very clean and near the Navy Base where my daughter is stationed at. Nothing to do with the Inn, but on one of the days we stayed there ppl driving were honking at each other, too early in the morning. That was bothersome since our room was the first one facing the street and we can hear all that mess.

Staff was great and room was clean
- 4/5
Great staff and the room was clean. The only drawback is that it is an older structure with thin walls and the TV did not work for cable along with pairing to external devices was hit or miss.
- 4/5
clean and updated room. A bit noisy between rooms and had to pay for assigned parking spot and mine was taken by someone eelse when I got back to the hotel that night. they could not move the other car, luckily there was another spot but did not even offer me a refund for parking.
- 1/5
Awful. Mold spores all over the ceiling in the shower. Heater set to 80 to try to get some warm air out and cold air blew all night. Then it wouldn’t turn off. Very very mislead online. Won’t recommend.
- 5/5
Great staff. Great amenities!
- 5/5
Wonderful staff! Clean room.
- 5/5
Very friendly and professional staff made our visit even nicer
- 4/5
It worked for a nice place to sleep during my daughter’s soccer tournament . It had a fridge to put leftovers and drinks in. Car was parked right in front of our room. The staff was helpful.
- 1/5
Sheets felt wet, and bathroom towels and floors had previous guest's hair on them. Found a giant roach in the room. The front desk staff were nice though.
- 4/5
I had a pleasant stay at the Coronado Inn overall. The room was clean and comfortable, but the windows didn’t block outside noise very well, so traffic could be a bit disruptive. The bed also made some squeaky sounds, and housekeeping came a little too early, which woke us up—partly due to the thin noise insulation. Despite these issues, the location and overall value were good, making it a solid choice.
- 5/5
I stay at "The Coronado Inn" every time I am in Coronado. The Staff is always great - with easy check in / check out! The room was very clean & perfect for short stays.
- 5/5
Very clean and nice people
- 5/5
Room 11 was ideal. Perfect location, size of room, ease of parking. Staff was uniformly knowledgeable and attentive.
- 5/5
Apparently the property has gone through a lot of remodeling lately and it looks really nice.
- 1/5
The staff, so said manager, extremely rude, unprofessional and unethical
- 5/5
Very nice.
- 2/5
Zero parking. Super loud place. Almost no hot water. Great location, terrible stay.
- 4/5
Check-in was promptly at 3pm. Room was nice and quiet, clearly partly redone and modernized, but something needs to be done about the table and chairs which looked like they came out of a dumpster. While the room superficially was clean, a deep cleaning seems to be in order to remove dust from less used surfaces. Location is great, close to the ferry landing and about 25 min walk to the Hotel Del.Supermarket, restaurants and brewery close by.

ZERO stars for car rental through Expedia. DO NOT rent a car through them if plans may change. I was charged a cancellation fee even though it was weeks ahead of time which is well within the 24hr free cancellation period. Unaware of fee as it was tacked onto my refund, I re-reserved a vehicle through Expedia and I opted for the car insurance and was charged a portion and then had the remaining balance due at pick up. Picked up car, the guy at counter had no idea of car ins. and made me show liability on personal vehicles. Remaining balance was MORE and thought I didnt have extra coverage on vehicle. Checked statements after vacay. I was charged for ins. thru Expedia. Expedia has been useless on refunds or resolution. Talking to bots. Even addressed me as Rachel via email.. my name is Anna. It's been such a waste of time and added senseless fees. It's been infuriating. STAY AWAY from car rentals via Expedia. Learn from me!

Clean room, charming cottages, pet friendly, lovely staff.

It would be nice to have a microwave in the room, doesnt require alot of space...would be a nice amenity
- 5/5
Felt safe around the area.
- 5/5
Would stay again
- 5/5
It was an amazing stay for the night. Girls night out. Had kitchen and plenty of space for 4 ladies to get ready. We just need 1 or 2 more mirrors on the wall.
- 5/5
Truly beautiful rooms
- 4/5
It’s expensive to stay on Coronado island so we were excited to have this room. It was not quite as nice I thought it would be. The room was outdated but the bathroom was nice enough and we were close enough to walk into town.
- 3/5
They didn't have parking available. They don’t allow you to prepay for your parking so they can sell your parking to someone else if they pay for it before you do. Even if the person is not staying at the hotel. Weird policy. They should give there guests first choice to prepay for there spot and if they choose not to, then they can proceed to sell your spot to someone else.
- 5/5
The room was just what we were looking for! It was spacious for a family of 4. The kitchen helped us save money because it comes with a stove top and microwave. We were able to make breakfast every morning. It was close to restaurants and the beach. We will definitely be back!
- 2/5
Funny it was never mentioned while booking. Walls are paper thin…. Got to listen to the guy next door snoring all night.
- 5/5
The staff was great and aloud us late check out.
- 5/5
Love the free bike option
- 5/5
It was great
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Dog friendly!
- 4/5
It took the shower about 15 to 20 minutes to warm up. Otherwise a great stay in Coronado.
- 3/5
Cozy accommodations, but I had plumbing problems throughout my stay, and neighbors were noisy both inside and outside their rooms until the wee hours. I wish motel staff had intervened in the latter situation.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable beds. The swimming pool was a little yellow, but wasn't too bad. Overall nice location and clean, nice room. We found street parking in front and avoided the $10 parking fee.
- 5/5
Cute hotel.... easy to get around. Fun local shops and beach area.
- 1/5
The manager didn't seem too happy that I booked through Expedia. She couldn't provide a receipt for my stay which I need for re-imbursement. There was no hot water for my shower. I had to leave early in the morning so did not have time to bring the issue up with the manager.
- 4/5
Only spent one night perfect for a one night stay Clean room comfortable bed. Very basic accommodations! Nothing fancy.
- 4/5
The room was nice and cozy. Parking was convenient and accessible. Overall good experience.
- 4/5
The ladies at the front desk were friendly. It was a good price for staying on the island. Enjoyed the pool. You can use bikes from the Inn to ride around.
- 5/5
Nice small spot. All you need to enjoy Coronado. Right by the bay side of the Island.
- 5/5
Love, this place, perfect location, walking distance to everything. Restaurants, beach, family friendly.
- 5/5
A simple place but it was clean and easy to get in and out of. Great location.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I really liked the location.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay. Parking was a hassle. Not enough parking spots. Had to park on the street.
- 5/5
It was a good location.
- 3/5
Arrived for check ins, was told there's no parking on the premise all sold out and had to find parking on the street. The room #17 has cracks on the planks, big area looks like its coming apart, need to wear shoes. Very basic room. Location is great, a few blocks to the pier and waterfront.
- 4/5
Overall good but too noisy
- 5/5
Such a quaint little hotel full of charm and character.
- 5/5
Great property, we are going back. Bed was super comfortable!!
- 1/5
We arrived about an hour before check in and they had a room available without any issues. We were charged $10 to park in their parking lot which was a first. When we got to the room and opened the door we were meet with a pungent smell that we didn't know was mold until the next morning. Upon looking around the room we noticed that every window frame was dirty like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. The coffee maker was full of dust and I don't know if was hair or fibers of some sort. The micro fridge was rusted on one corner and made a funny noise all the time. Now when it came to the bathroom there was mold on the ceiling, walls, shower floor, blinds and window which had no screen and a dead beatles. I know this was a 2 star hotel but I mean come on, you can't have mold growing like that. The bed was 50/50 due to using 2 twin box springs instead of a solid frame and pillows that if you used 1 it wasn't enough and if you used 2 you were sitting up pretty much. If you don't mind the things listed above it's a ok room if it was $100 cheaper a night. Also talking with the people who stayed in the room next to us they had mold problems and trouble with the shower.
- 5/5
Beds were comfortable, loved having fridge/freezer in room, shower got hot hot and hard floors throughout was the best it was clean - stayed with my twin 18yr old kids and we had enough room and great walking distance to all the things. We will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
Great location, staff and spacious rooms
- 4/5
Was alright. Our check in person was great. The room felt a bit musty and outdated. Bed was not so comfortable. Overall was just okay. I did appreciate the free parking space.
- 3/5
The location was good; property did not match the picture on website. The beds and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable,
- 5/5
Great place to stay and play!

Great location and great price!
- 4/5
Decent small boutique hotel…clean…very basic…nothing fancy
- 5/5
Great place, will stay here again.
- 3/5
We don’t think they were finished renovations in our room. Comfortable bed. No microwave in this room though Standard room w King bed had both m/w & refrigerator listed. Only 4 coat hangers, bath sink cabinets obviously old, broken, insides scary. Lots of overhead recessed lighting but only two bedside lamps. No reading lamp or chair. No Comfortable chair just the 2 small wooden chairs at the table. Only 2 available outlets in bedroom. Bath & shower fixtures nice though shower valve very hard to turn. No hooks to hang clothes in shower area. Water pressure good. These comments are about our room. The property was clean staff pleasant and pool area, gardens well maintained. Room 8 just needs to be finished and thoroughly cleaned.
- 5/5
It's my go-to when I stay in San Diego!
- 1/5
IlWprst experience. Arrived at 5pm and no parking. WiFi didn't work. Hair on the sheets. Noisy end room- people arguing outside our window in the middle of the night. Found a huge cockroach that we killed at 3am. Left in the am foregoing the next night. Unable to make contact with Manager after multiple attempts. Had to call the credit card company to cancel charge after they wouldn't refund. Would never stay here.
- 2/5
Our room didn’t have WiFi. Couldn’t been a little cleaner
- 5/5
Staff was great and bed was very comfortable! Location was lovely and seemed safe.
- 3/5
Stayed for a few days for a work event. Was able to book with short notice when another room cancelled last minute. Appreciated the scenic and quiet neighborhood. Wifi issues made it hard to do much work while I was there though.
- 5/5
Nice and quiet
- 4/5
Only had hot water one day lol. But had zero issues other wise and will definitely book again. Used the free bikes every single day it was amazing!
- 4/5
When I booked the room the description included a microwave and there was none in the room. Said they would get one in the room but they did not.
- 4/5
very good location - close to ferry landing and beaches
- 5/5
Not the ritz but i have never slept so well in a hotel! Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
I have been staying at this hotel on and off for 14 years. Its a little worn out and and the furniture is older. I have foound it to be one of the most affordable places to stay, even less than Airbnbs. The very sad part it appears they have got rid of the free cycles. My daughter and I loved them to get around the Island.
- 3/5
It is definitely a property they are trying to update. We were impressed with all of the women at the front desk; very professional and friendly. We loved the free bike rental! Our plumbing went out one afternoon which was unfortunate, however they did call a plumber (on a Sunday) and the situation was fixed. The shower takes about 10 min to heat up though and I don't like to waste that much water.
- 2/5
The people at the front desk are awesome and so friendly and helpful. 5 starts to those women. But amenities wise, it was inconvenient that it would consistently take 20-25 minutes for the shower water to get hot. It was also uncomfortable when the cleaning personnel did not come the day they were scheduled. We rescheduled for the next day with a specific window of time in the afternoon. When we left our room for approximately 20 minutes to get coffee early in the morning, we came back to our door open and someone cleaning. We had to awkwardly wait in our car from which we could see into our room, and all of our personal items that we did not have an opportunity to organize/ put away. The room was mostly clean. We also had to request additional blankets because there was only a flat sheet used as a fitted sheet, another flat sheet, and a thin blanket/comforter.
- 5/5
So happy we found this hidden gem. The staff was amazing !!!
- 4/5
Had a great stay. Very kind and accommodating staff.
- 5/5
Awesome place
- 3/5
They are currently updating the hotel, but still I am a little disappointed. The room was clean but they offered room service/cleaning only every 3 days. You could request, via text, additional service. The towels were ragged, old and rough. The bathroom was odd. There was no lip in the shower to prevent the water from flooding the rest of the bathroom. There was a slight tilt to direct water to the drain, but it wasn't enough. I had to use towels on the floor to prevent the floor getting flooded. I would only stay here 1 or 2 nights unless nothing else available. Also, had difficulty charging my room. At first I was double charged but did get that corrected.
- 3/5
Kitchen was not dirty but so dated that it felt dirty.
- 4/5
The rooms were ok, but the beds were horribly uncomfortable. I didn't expect them to be "heavenly" beds, but when the mattress is sinking in and you can feel the springs, it's time to replace them. The sofa beds were even worse. The only redeeming quality is the location. Centrally located to mostly everything, you don't have to drive anywhere. They also have on-site reserved parking, which was worth the price, considering parking is notoriously limited.
- 5/5
The bed was the most comfortable for me
- 1/5
It was a horrible experience. Not what it looked like on the inside to how it was listed and looked on the site. WiFi didn’t work, lights in “living area” did not work. Will never come back.
- 3/5
Downside was that they were scraping and painting the exterior of inn over Christmas so it didn’t look its best.
- 2/5
Hotel was very disappointing, especially for the price. No matter the location a certain price point should have a certain level of quality and amenities which this one doesn't have. limited parking that you have to pay extra for. cleaning service didnt clean our room during our stay. shower didnt function correctly, no exhaust fan and the window opens to a public area putting you in full view of people. room was clean but very basic with low quality furniture. no employees available for long periods of time.
- 3/5
Central location, block to a market, two to the bay. Arrived at 8:30pm and they were sold out of parking. Street parking available but had to walk at night. Bare bones place. Bathroom needs updating. Furniture a collection from a yard sale. The shower literally took ten minutes to warm up that’s not an exaggeration. It’s a place to sleep nothing more.
- 5/5
Property was walkable to multiple restaurants and centennial park. Staff was wonderful with check in. Parking was easy and assigned which was convenient. Room was clean and offered all the needed appliances
- 4/5
Front desk staff very helpful with local transport. Good area, easy walk to ferry and local shops.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay. The place was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area. It was walking distance of the shops and restaurants. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Great place very cute and the area around it is nice. Many things are walking distance and the room I got was a suite so it was pretty spacious which was what I needed having a baby with me. I was able to check in early for an extra fee which I’m glad I was able to. The parking also has an extra fee which I wish it didn’t but you can’t win them all :(
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
Worked out great !
- 5/5
Nice room, staff was friendly and it was clean and definitely a good price compared to the prices in coronado. Would recommend!
- 5/5
Easy and affordable. Close to the Ferry. Perfect for a quiet business trip for the week.
- 5/5
Stay was amazing. Staff was friendly
- 4/5
We like this hotel and have stayed before. The onky draw back this visit is our shower temperature regulator was not working. No matter what we did the water was either extremely hot or cold. No middle ground for warm. But everything else was great.
- 3/5
It is located at a very busy junction. Lots of noises in the middle of the night. The room is dated. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow. I just gave up trying. Instead, I used my data for the entire stay. However, the staff were friendly.
- 5/5
The room was great for my little family good customer service staff was great very close to the Naval Base
- 3/5
Our Room #1 was right on the corner of Orange Ave and the inbound one way to the Navy base. We had more road noise than other rooms. We had to have them respray for insects as we found a few, nothing out of reality for a cottage type motel/inn. They certainly are improving the property. Their cost was reasonable compared to the rest of Coronado. It is a reasonable value just try not to be on the roadside corner room
- 5/5
Great location and customer service
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
The hotel is simple but very cozy. Perfect location.
- 2/5
Small little inn for a short vacation in Coronado. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted there with two dead cockroaches. Which we checked in early and they said they'd ensure a room was cleaned for us. The roach looked dead for a while. The walls are paper thin. You can even hear the next door neighbor flushing or the across neighbor blow drying their hair at night. Water pressure in shower and toilet flush is very minimal. Paid for nightly parking and had an issue with that. I understand it's not a luxurious hotel but paying $400 in total is pretty absurd. The front desk lady was really nice though.

Parking was horrible. The rooms had be sheets with holes in them. Overall not great.

While this is an older property, it was very clean and the kitchenette was great. We loved the bicycles you could check out and explore the island.

I had to pay for parking in the lot. I didn't expect that.

The staff was absolutely amazing upon our arrival. They were very informative and got us headed the rluught direction. Although, you can tell the buildings themselves are quite old, the interior speaks otherwise. Wouls absolutely recommend for anyone staying on Coronado in the future.

Everything I needed was there. It was great except the little friendly one.

This inn could stand to have a face lift. Just a little rough around the edges. The sheets and bedding were dingy. The walls must be paper thin because you can hear your neighbors a lot and unfortunately we were by noisy neighbors. The bikes were nice to have but definitely are old and beaten up. One we were given the key to was even missing a pedal. When we checked in, the night clerk said, “Sorry it smells like weed, it’s just. . .” and didn’t finish the sentence but it was kind of unprofessional. They said, “you should have a microwave in your room but if there isn’t one, there’s one by the pool.” And lastly the TV was awful. If you changed channels more than a few times, the screen would just go dark and nothing would show up. Only audio. Overall, would not stay here again.

The room was updated and clean. Minimal but just what we needed.
