Property and room was clean

From 4pm 6/10 thru 6/11. No emergency lights. This is a 6 floor hotel. I am a senior citizen with mobility disabilities I was on 4th floor. No power no elevator This was my 2nd night stay and my luggage & medications were up in my room. I was out during day & returned to find out I was stuck sitting in lobby. I luckily had my sister living nearby she brought flash lights and was able to retrieve my medication from my room 404. By 12:30 am she helped me get to my room via stairs. No air no windows to open but I was stuck & was promised by staff they would discount the stay because of this situation. To date 3 days later NO partial refund has been given. No breakfast in AM still no power. I was shocked a well known hotel chain had no emergency plan or a generator for such situations. There were only 2 staff members they were nice and had no control over situation. I understand but at least give a partial reimbursement to customers for this stay. Very disappointing I have to pay full price for 1/2 service.

the hotel lost power for damn near 24 hours due to a brief storm and we had no electricity or hot water and had to climb 6 flights of stairs several times, and was told they can’t offer any sort of discount because i booked via expedia :)

The power was out because of storms. The staff was so kind and accommodating. We did choose to move on and not check in as they had been without power for hours and no resolution time was known. None of this was the fault of hotel. They were doing their very best for their guests in a terrible situation.

Everything was perfect! only complaint I have is the side door thats off of parking lot didnt seem to latch very good. You need key to get it open but it didnt seem like it was ever latched properly to begin with, safety hazard I think.

I had a nice stay. This hotel has been my first choice for visits to Chicago. It's not too far from the city proper and it's well maintained and has good amenities.

It was close enough to downtown Chicago but not close enough to be crazy. Definitely would’ve loved if both elevators worked but it definitely didn’t bother me any

The beds were not made. Tv was on a littler poop on a towel on the bed it’s on video and will be posting soon looking for a full refund. Do ever stay in this hotel.

Breakfast had a good assortment of options!My wife and I and daughter and grandson loved our time here! Only negative was somebody had stolen some of the weights in the exercise room and they just so happened to be the ones I needed! Not the hotel’s fault. We stayed 4 nights as we were seeing both a Cubs and White Sox game! Recommend driving to Midway station to take train from there to do games and tourist stuff in Chicago! You don’t want to drive in to Chicago. Traffic is terrible. Definitely would use hotel again if we visit Chicago again!!

The location suited us because it was very near I-55 which is what we needed. There was shopping and restaurants nearby but nothing to write home about. But cool that it was also near Route 66. Check-in was smooth and the man on reception was friendly. Property was dated. Artificial Flowers in the outdoor planters when it is summer and real would look much better. We were given a disabled room, which was no problem, but had to wonder why there were no hooks (neither low or high) for someone to hang their towel near the shower or a hook to hang clothes or a wet towel. Cleaning was a little lax as well.

Smelled bad when entering building. The rooms lock was very hard to work. The air conditioner did not cool below 70 degrees. I called the front desk and asked for someone to come look at it. They said they would send maintenance and no one came. There was ants in the room.

Cons: While the room had a small refrigerater, there was no freezer. The hinges on the armoire and bathroom door squeaked loudly, and the furniture was kind of banged up. For me and my family, the pros outweighed the cons, and we would definitely stay here again.

My stay this time was okay but I had room 208 it was noisy doors constantly slamming I don’t like being that close to the elevator. My room only had a bottle of shower gel. The breakfast was great parking was great staff great my room was clean.

We always love coming here! Great check I'm process, love the breakfast, a lot of room to park your car, safe neighborhood, love that I can watch netflix on the TV, and its super close to walmart and restaurants. My mom and I have been coming here for 3 years visiting my grandpa and we love it!

Breakfast was good and there were many options. The rooms were extremely clean. Right when we walked inside the hotel it smelled clean. Bathroom has everything you need and the beds are huge. I totally recommend.

Check-In process was fantastic, the receptionists were great... but the room itself left much to be desired... there was no soap, no shampoo... the fridge was left open prior to us occupying the room and there was a watery mess that had to be cleaned up with the towels from the bathroom, which, in turn, left us with only one towel to use for two people... then we discovered a plethora of ants foraging for food on the dresser, desk, and on the floor. Glad we only stayed for one night.

Breakfast had a great selection to choose from. Eggs, sausage patties, home fries were hot. Cold cereal or waffles were also available. Will return on future visits.

If you are traveling by car, you can definitely stay here without hesitation. However, if you rely on public transportation like I did, it’s a bit far and not very convenient to get to.

When I brought this up the day manager could have cared less. There was no apology. Nothing. There stairway doors should not slam shut. At the very least they should be propped open. I didn’t get one good nights sleep during my stay.

Breakfast was good and hot but would have liked more of a selection we had eggs and breakfast potatoes and sausage of some variety everyday the 3 day we were there. The only thing I would have to complain about is that at check in the lady told us housekeeping would come every other day being there for 3 nights housekeeping should have came to our room or at least refreshed our towels and took our trash. I would definitely stay again though

Breakfast was great, parking was easy and accessible, and the overall condition of the room was good. There was a bug on the bed, but it’s possible that I brought that in with me on my clothes and I didn’t see any others so I didn’t complain. The main issue is that the toilet kept running, and while I did ask the staff to take care of it, nothing was ultimately fixed. As a result it kept running every night throughout my stay. I also asked for an extra day to add on to my stay, which was great that they could provide that and price match the rate I found online. However, since they couldn’t fix the toilet issue it would’ve been nice if they could’ve offered a discount or a better room.

The room was clean for the most part and the staff were really kind and helpful. The breakfast was good too, just wish the potatoes had turkey sausage instead of pork but that really a personal problem than something that was too big. Grateful for the stay!

The shower was hard to pull out in order to use it. The next day the shower knob came completely off and could not be used. They fixed it while we were gone. They did not clean the room or leave clean towels.

The hotel seemed less than a quarter full but we were directed to the 4th floor. Upon entering, everything seemed fine. Shower was dribbling out with luke warm water. Toilet required 2 flushes every time. Very slow. Bed was comfortable but didn’t smell fresh. Breakfast was mediocre, looked nice but tasted poorly. Coffee okay . Loud people until late even though it was a week day. Sorry, wouldn’t stay again.

Thr room was very clean and breakfast was warm and delicious. The only thing I was disappointed before I left for the day I asked front desk to please leave clean towels. I arrived back late night went up to my room and the bed was not made the closet door was left open with no clean towels. I had to go back to the front desk foe clean towels.

Honestly, nothing stood out to me. The heater only bringing the room to temperature and not turning back on, had to sleep with sweat clothes on to stay warm through the night. The Iron not working, and when asked for a new one, being told I would not be able to get it until the after 7 in the morning, and then they did not bring it to me as I was told and had to go ask again for it as the message was not relayed. I was in town for work, and this really put a hinderance on me in the morning to start my day. I usually start at 5am. Then to top it off, on the first day, I was barely able to take a shower as it took 5 minutes of messing with it to get it to work, the second day it did not work at all, when asked to take a shower in a different room, was given a dirty room and told that is all they had. I think this is the worst hotel stay I have ever had.

The breakfast attendant was nice. Biggest concern was the lack of lighting in the room. There was a desk but the closet light was in the middle of the two bed. So the corner was dark.

Soda vending machine was out of service on the first floor and the pillows seemed to be a little scratchy. But yes it was clean and did not smell musty like some hotels.

Room was not very clean (especially the bathroom). The noise coming from other rooms and the hallway at all hours of the night and morning was intense, preventing any sleep. Several enormous thuds sounded out during the night, waking me up. Staff (or someone else) knocked loudly at my door at 5am. Cleaners opened my door around 8am while I was still in the room sleeping despite me only staying one night. Very poor sleep experience.

There is a gap around the air conditioner in the room. All night long you hear the wind blow through it and yes your feet get cold. I’m a heavy sleeper so I still went to sleep but it gets very long in hear when it does blow in here

I mistakenly booked a room for guests with disabilities. I asked the employee to switch me to a different room because I am not disabled, but he refused. I then asked him to give me a room on a higher floor, and he refused again, simply out of spite. I even offered to pay the difference for a better room, but he still refused, again, just to be difficult. I am a regular guest at your hotel; I have stayed with you more than fifty times over the years, and you can verify this in your records The room they gave me was located near an electrical transformer or something else I don't know what it was, but the important thing is that it was constantly switching on and off every minute, and the noise bothered me and didn't stop even for a single minute. I was not comfortable at all during this stay.

No room service in 3 nights stay No trash removal Used towels never removed from bathroom for 3 days. No body lotion kept in the room. Window corners were not sealed properly and cold air pass through that. I have stayed more than 100 hotels in last 2 years for my business and never had a horrible experience. Nobody from my group of companies will reserve Best Western plus anymore.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Thermostat was kinda wonky. Why is it so difficult for hotel rooms to have heating controls that simply heat up to your liking, shut off when reached and turn back on when needed?

We had two rooms. One room had a big dead ant in the bed a bug on the shower curtain. The other room had a damaged shower wall that had been repaired, but made it very difficult to use the shower. in all, overall cleaning was not that good will not stay there again.

The furniture, walls, chairs, carpet all looked really old, worn and chipped. Please go in paint or replace. It looked like someone must have been rough on the room in the past.

Over all it was a place to sleep. Staff was average but room was dirty. Mold in the bathroom shower area and on the ceiling. The room itself appeared nice but there were lots of food, drink, dirt and other remnants on the walls, bed and coffee maker. Also some unknown thing appeared to be growing on the shower facet. Of course it was late when we checked in, and we were tired so I didn’t notice the bathroom shower issues until that morning upon showering. We only stayed one night. Towels and toiletries were nice though. Probably wouldn’t stay again just due to the cleanliness of the room. Breakfast was good.

Out of coffee at breakfast and no staff monitoring it. Housekeeping needed more training on cleaning rooms. Floors needed vacuumed outside hallways were very dirty. Needed more plugs for frig, coffee maker and microwave. Walls are very thin, you could hear the people in the room next door.

Our room was outdated. The tv remote didn’t function properly. Bathroom sink wouldn’t shut off all the way so we had to listen to it run all night. The faucet leaked all over the counter and got our toiletries wet. Air conditioner was loud and either too cold or not cold enough. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Lamp shade on the lamp on the desk was stained and so was the comforter, top blanket on the bed.

This is the second time we have tried this hotel and it’s the last. When trying to check in we discovered they gave our room away. No notice. Terrible way to treat customers. What is a reservation for if not to secure your room?

Cannot get a copy of my receipt. They are insisting that I booked through Hotels.com and that's who has to give me my receipt - but I paid at the hotel, and that's what Hotels.com says - they didn't charge me, they don't have a receipt. Now I'm out $300 since I have no receipt to provide to my employer. I will never stay at a BW again - even the 800# for the hotel chain insisted that since I booked with a third party only they can give a receipt.

It was difficult to find the entrance to this hotel as the driveway was poorly marked. Once was got there the front desk was unoccupied. After a 10 minute wait an employee showed up to check us in. The room was clean and comfortable. The service was good.

The only room for improvement would be to have the entrance for the lot be illuminated. Everything else was fantastic!

On the first night, the AC never fully kicked in and the room became uncomfortably hot during the night. The second night was better. Since I prefer sleeping in cooler temperatures, I would stay at this hotel again only if this issue could be guaranteed not to happen.

The room we checked into smelled like mildew, the carpet by the AC was wet and the AC was broken and leaking. They were unable to move us to another room and we eneded up having to cancel our trip and go home. At least they gave us the refund

Great place to stay if you want a place outside of Chicago! The staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and they had allergen information, and the rooms were quite nice. The listing showed that they have a pool, but that is not the case. The managers have tried to get that removed from the listing. It was also pretty warm, but cooled down once we turned on the ac.

Didn’t make enough breakfast for all the guests. They kept running out before everyone could get some. And stopped cooking before everyone was able to eat.

This was a great hotel for the price.

The main level carpet was filthy. Otherwise it was a nice place.

Our stay was amazing. Only thing I didn’t like is that the toilets are so low to the ground. I recommend a higher toilet. The toilets seems to catered to small kids not adults. However the staff is awesome.

I recently stayed at Best Western Chicagoland – Countryside and was very impressed with several aspects of my visit. From the moment I arrived, the check-in staff made me feel welcome. They were efficient, friendly, and quick to offer local tips without being overbearing—a great start to the stay. The breakfast options were good with generous spread of both hot and cold items, with plenty of fresh fruit, pastries, and cooked cooked eggs. It would be great to see a none dairy alternative to milk offered as this limited many of my options. The facilities on offer were also great. The gym was well-equipped, and the lounge spaces felt inviting and comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a long day, or to start the day over breakfast. There are, however, a couple of small areas that could use attention. The lifts and bathrooms would benefit from some minor refurbishment; nothing major, but a touch of modernisation would make a noticeable difference. Additionally, the bins outside were full to overflowing during my stay, which detracted from the otherwise well-kept appearance of the property. Overall, this is a hotel that delivers a very enjoyable experience with warm service, great food, and excellent amenities. A little upkeep in a few areas would take it from very good to truly exceptional.

We found a pair of schoes under the chair which means the room wasn't clean. A few spots on the rug were sticky . It was was noisy at night.

Checkin was quick and painless. Staff was nice. Room was clean. Busy weekend for the hotel. kinda nosey at night with the slamming of doors. Overall no complaints

I stayed with mom for three nights, washroom door lock not working, reported problem at reception , technician wouldn’t show up for fix

This property charged me for two rooms and would not allow me to check I to either room nor reimburse me for anything because my wife did not have her identification on her. The desk clerk yelled at her and I and kicked us out of the hotel. I am out $500 and never got my room

Fantastic place to stay, barista-style coffee available at the lobby was a big hit. The layout of the room lends itself to being able to put away suitcases in between furniture, so if you're travelling with 2 large suticases, you're not tripping over them. Staff was friendly and curteous. Unlike some places, they post the times when breakfast is available, and my, oh my, breakfast items were great, aside from the usual cereal and waffle maker, there was a different egg, protein and potato/starch option cooked on premises.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The only challenge was the TV did not work and the staff was not helpful in resolving the situation. They were unable to move us to a different room.

We enjoyed the stay. The room was well maintained and comfortable. My only negative comment is that the hallway carpet was somewhat dirty. It needs to be shampooed.

Smooth and professional check-in. The property is a bit dated but clean. There is however an overwhelming fruity scent upon entering the hotel which is a little off-putting. Overall, if your flight gets cancelled (thanks, United)) this is a good place to get some sleep and grab a quick cup of coffee in the morning.

The front desk would not switch us to another room as they were “completely booked”. Don’t tell me everyone in that hotel had checked in by 3:30 when we arrived. They had housekeeping come up and spray an air freshener in the room which I think made it worse…the room smelled like cigarettes for the remainder of our 3 day stay. We come back to La Grange again this time next year….will be finding more accommodating accommodations.

Decent price for the area. Accommodated our room location request. Breakfast was good. AC did not work well. Would raise 3 degrees before turning back on making it uncomfortable for sleep. Found a small cockroach in the bathroom.

This place was an easy place to stay outside of the business of Chicago. Great place to stay while visiting without staying in downtown. The property was clean and convenient. The lady working the breakfast area was great. She spoke every morning and was nice while making sure to have plenty of breakfast options.

Not totally their fault, the wifi is public but phone was hacked while staying there. Many shady people about. Good location and price but weak internet security. Each room should be coded.

Check in was super easy and fast. Hotel smelled clean when we walked in. So far we had a good feeling about the hotel. Then as the elevator doors were closing we realized there was stains all over the two seats they had outside the doors to sit if you wanted to. Hotel needs updated in rooms. Our room had a strong smell… almost like strong Vicks vapor mixed w cleaning chemicals. I ended up run going out to get fabreeze to cut down on the odor. If you are staying longer than 1 day, they only clean rooms every 3 days. Which was fine, but front desk person @ check in, told us said every other day. So conflicting info was given. If it’s not til every 3 days, bigger garbage cans are needed in rooms for sure. Two tiny ones doesn’t work especially with multiple people staying in rooms. When I mentioned to front desk, she gave me a bigger garbage bag so I could empty the cans myself. Staff was overall nice.
