Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its location, decor, and restaurant/bar. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff. However, some common complaints include small and noisy rooms, parking issues, and poor housekeeping services.
- Great location in Culver City, walkable to many attractions
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Small and noisy rooms
- Parking issues, including expensive valet and lack of street parking

Great hotel all around. Would definitely book it again

Wonderful staff. Helpful throughout the stay with luggage, check in and out. The hotel itself is very cute and beautiful. Bar and lounge area unique. Would be my go to place to stay in LA in the future.

Small hotel with lively lobby bar and restaurant. Great location to walk to restaurants in Culver City. Comfortable, clean rooms with quirky bathroom design.
- 4/5
This is an excellent choice for a basic room- the bed and shower were excellent and the staff helpful. The rooms are small and no real amenities, but perfect for a short stay and good sleep! Good value for LA!
- 5/5
Love everything about this place.
- 5/5
Charming hotel in Culver City, very convenient to many attractions. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. When we showed up a bit before our room was ready the staff bent over backward to accommodate us. We will definitely be back!
- 2.5/5
Trendy neighborhood. Unfortunately doesn’t live up to what’s advertised. Rooms have a strange smell. Standard rooms on the groundfloor don’t have rooms with daylight and are right next to the restaurant.
- 5/5
I only ate from the bar menu. It was sparse but I liked the deviled eggs. Had a good cappuccino in the morning. I love the staff. Super friendly and accommodating.
- 2/5
The property seems very trendy and the bar/restaurant was nice. My room was tiny and next to the bathroom, also located near a staff closet for cleaning supplies. There was a party in the dining room for a conference that had noise until 11pm on a week night. The internet wasn’t great and the outlets were not near the bed or desk which made it pretty impossible to work. The bed was saggy on one side. I was there for a dinner/conference and at $365+ not worth it at all. The front desk was very nice and my server was also lovely. But sleep/noise/wifi are all important to me. Stay at the Culver Hotel, so much nicer.
- 5/5
Loved the attention to detail and the amenities of the hotel. The bar is beautiful and the patio for breakfast was delicious.
- 5/5
Beautiful boutique hotel in a cool, clean part of LA (Culver). Was blown away by how nice the room and bed were. Everything felt magical. Bar downstairs was cool, staff was cool. Being close to so many shops and restaurants was excellent as I was able to walk to get anything I needed. Amenities in the room were nice, albeit a bit pricey, but I didnt really partake since my stay was so short and I could walk towards the Trader Joe's that was 5 minutes away. Surrounding neighborhood is really lovely. Would absolutely stay here again. Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Great boutique hotel, and an awesome location. Be prepared to pay $50 a night for parking as street parking is permit only in the neighboring blocks from the hotel. lively restaurant at the bottom of hotel. safe neighborhood for solo female travelers. would highly recommend.
- 4/5
Older hotel and rooms smell like it. I was placed next to the garbage cans on the first floor, so had both late night noise and early morning noise. Curtains don’t block out light. $13 for a bottle of water in the room.
- 4.5/5
The breakfast was excellent and the location was very convenient for walking around and exploring the area. The bottom of the shower door wasn't fully sealed so water spilled onto the bathroom floor but it's such a minor issue that can easily be resolved.

Great place to stay in a very walkable spot with a ton of food and drink options, and a wonderful staff. Thanks!

Staff was lovely, food was great, room was cute and very clean. A little loud til around 9pm, but not an issue for me.

Very good
- 5/5
Overall loved this little hotel in an amazing location. Service was great. Simonette- the restaurant in the lobby was fabulous. Room was very small but well appointed. Our room opens up to the internal courtyard on the first floor. I would have preferred a room that at least had room for a chair. The room was too small to do anything but sleep in. Hotel does not have a true lobby area - just a front desk
- 1/5
Terrible room, we payed extra for the “patio” and it was a shared common courtyard….looking Into other hotel rooms… rooms were claustrophobic, and smelled like mold
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 3.5/5
It is ideally located, but some homeless people nearby, which is not unusual for LA. Clean bathroom which was well appointed for the most part. The location is good - steps away from cute downtown Culver City with shops, a movie theater and restaurants. The Simonette restaurant is very good though a limited menu. Bar is charming. At check in the hostess at first did not make eye contact, was very abrupt. I slowed down my speech and handed things to her very slowly until she looked at me. After that she was much more connected. Rooms felt motel-like, but clean. The price is good for West LA during the holidays.
- 3.5/5
Hotel smells musty. Room was very small for LA, and the bathroom lacks privacy.

Terrible mattress and pillows. Light”switches” were ridiculous. Bed lamp hanging loose. Sheets not tucked in or big enough to tuck in. Have you heard of fitted sheets. Incredibly overpriced. Adding another night seemed to be the most daunting task in the world. Automated texts had all incorrect rerrservation dates. very unprofessional . No service or clean towels. Motel 6 is better.
- 4/5
Fun little boutique hotel, but do NOT get a room in the back of the property, especially on a lower floor. The dumpsters are back there and I was awakened at 6AM by the sound of breaking glass and metal dumpsters being rolled around.
- 5/5
Room was great. Clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay at Pali and the bar & restaurant never disappoint, highly recommend!
- 4/5
Great staff, clean room, good location. Overpriced valet parking. Restaurant has very limited menu. Heating in room was very flaky, frequently too hot or too cold, even if thermostat wasn't changed.
- 5/5
An older building (reportedly Joan Crawford lived there) that has been restored as a boutique hotel. Really neat!
- 3/5
Mid.

Room was clean, cute little court yard outside of patio. Food was great. Staff was super friendly, all around a great little gem in Culver City. So glad we found this! Close to many restaurants & Culver Theater. 👍

Very charming hotel and very comfortabel
- 5/5
clean room and great location

Great service and great staff. My dogs loved it
- 4/5
Yes. Only issue was the temperature of the room, which was difficult to regulate
- 5/5
Good place for a couple getaway
- 4/5
Wonderful little hotel in a great location. The restaurant/bar was superb for breakfast, happy hour and dinner. (Super happy hour offerings.) The staff was also very, very pleasant and helpful. Chic, pleasant decor. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the room had very limited amenities. No place - or room - to put luggage, no electric outlets by the bed, little privacy between bathroom and sleeping area and we both kept hitting the corner of the bed (painful!). Everything else was 5 stars!
- 2/5
The room was tiny, required a stand alone a/c unit with a long foil hose running out an always open window, and had no work space. WiFi was unusably slow, and there are no common areas for working beyond a restaurant meant for dining.
- 2/5
The hotel is not that old but smells and feels old. We had to ask to switch rooms because the must in our original room was so bad. The beds are not comfortable. Will not stay here again.
- 4/5
Good
- 4/5
Did not use bar or breakfast.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel is a terrific location right in the center of Culver City. The French bistro Simonette is in the hotel and the food is terrific, especially the wonderful breakfast menu. Absolutely loved the hotel and staff!
- 5/5
Everything about this place was excellent. We loved our room on the first floor overlooking the interior atrium. The staff was excellent and polite and helpful. And it’s located within walking distance of everything you need in Culver City. I highly recommend this place. It’s great to have excellent customer service after living in the northwest where Customer Service is not held at a premium. Sorry for the voice to text and the weird capitalizations.
- 5/5
I can't say enough about the general mood of courtesy and service at Palihotel. The rooms are small, yet have everything you need, esp given the great service. I'd stay here again, for sure! Thanks everyone at PaliHotel!!
- 3/5
Decent location and within walking distance of a couple good food options in the metro. But otherwise this place is not worth the spend; almost zero customer service, rooms are not really made with the normal hotel user in mind (read: frosted glass wall directly in front of toilet, practically unusable light switches), and overall a lackluster experience. Was there for 5 nights - way too long for that environment. One tip: if you park about 5 blocks away on Lucerne street, it’s free.
- 3/5
The room had a door leading to a courtyard and when I first checked in I realized that it wasn't fully locked, so other guests could have been able to enter had I not checked it before leaving for dinner. There was also a small crack at the bottom of the door which let in bugs when I had the lights on at nighttime. The bathroom floor is absolutely freezing and they didn't offer slippers, only a bathrobe. The bathmat for the floor and the towels were thin and small, I ended up moving the bathmat around the bathroom to keep my feet from freezing. There was a lot of light coming in from the windows around the room at night. The sound of the guests footsteps moving about the room above me woke me up each morning. Everything felt on the older and a bit musty.
- 5/5
A great weekend away!

- 5/5
Such a fun boutique property. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Really enjoyed my stay.
- 3/5
The rooms are TINY!! Breakfast was good. Woudlnt stay again.
- 4/5
The happy hour on week days is a great affordable option if you eat burgers. The rooms a small but nicely decorated. It's right off the main square so its still quiet. Not a lot of amenities but great for a staycation. We had a nice restful long weekend.
- 4/5
The AC system in my room was very loud, couldn't leave it on for long because of the noise. Had a similar issue last time I stayed as well.
- 5/5
This is a very nice hotel a block from the Culver City Steps, with restaurants and a few play areas for kids. It's in a quiet neighborhood next to a school administration building and housing. The restaurant is very charming, sort of indoors-outdoors. The Palihotel is quite expensive, but was a bit cheaper than the closeby Culver Hotel, so that's why I chose it. I was surprised that there was no recycling bin for guests in such an eco-friendly city. It is also close to bus routes so that you can get all over the city and the beach in Venice. There is a Trader Joe's 2 blocks away, a good place to get snacks.
- 5/5
Morning staff was slightly rude, and did not help when we asked
- 2/5
Room was nice/clean, but their “Garden Room” should be renamed “Restaurant Room” as: (a) 2 x lobby toilets are right outside your room door, and (b) there’s restaurant tables literally right outside your window, diners could be looking right in to your bed/room if don’t have your shutters closed. Cutlery & plates start banging around a few feet from your bed very early AM (particularly frustrating after a night of AC machines going off out there too). Also note that you can’t park within at least about 10 min walk of the hotel due to local resident parking zone, and the $50 valet parking is not available after about 10p apparently.
- 3/5
Started in Room 306 — weird energy. Moved to 106 and the bathroom door slammed open and shut all night. Remote ended up under the bed. Tapping came from the bathroom plexiglass. Not the window. Told the staff — they acted totally clueless. This place is haunted.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Only down side is the room was small, but it wasn't a big deal. I loved it.
- 1/5
I stayed at Palihotel Culver City and was threatened with the police by a rude front desk employee simply for asking for my room to be cleaned and for his name. The hotel did not feel like a safe place to stay, and it was uncomfortable to even host business meetings there—my clients didn’t feel comfortable either. I reported this to management and am still waiting for a meaningful response. I will follow up and update this review accordingly.
- 5/5
Thanks to Davyd, we were able to conclude our stay smoothly and nicely!thank you so much!
- 5/5
I loved the staff, the hotel overall was so pretty. There isn’t enough parking close by available though.
- 5/5
Had an amazing stay at the Palihotel Culver City. The staff were outstanding and incredibly friendly. We absolutely loved the location. Walkable to restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

- 3/5
Location is great! Room are very small!

The light is based on motion detection, so it could suddenly shut down when you are showering. This is wired. But the staff team are very nice!
- 5/5
Great location, great service, great rooms!
- 4/5
Loved everything about the property except the room was quiet small.
- 3/5
The room was tiny, no place to set anything. Hot and stuffy from the minute we walked in. I tried many times to adjust the AC, but never felt like it did anything. Also, there was no shampoo, and the room phone was non-functioning. By morning we were miserable. I went to the desk and they moved us to a different room for the 2nd night. The 2nd room was cool, comfortable, much more spacious, and away from the noise of the restaurant. I don't know why they would give anyone the room we had on night 1 if ANYTHING else was available.
- 5/5
If you're in LA and looking for cute boutique hotel, STAY HERE!!!
- 5/5
I enjoy that we can walk everywhere from the hotel
- 5/5
Great Hotel
- 5/5
Very walkable area. Lots of restaurants. The Kirk Douglas Theater is a few blocks away. The hotel and rooms are cute. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our weekend thoroughly.
- 5/5
The hotel has a terrific restaurant, incredible location and, best of all, the nicest and most accommodating staff ever. We visit LA a lot and plan to make this hotel our second home.
- 4/5
nice staff, small and homey but can hear everything outside
- 3/5
My partner and I checked in at 1:30am. The front desk staff was very helpful. They told us that there would be coffee served at 7:30am, and breakfast like cereal served at 8am. I came downstairs at 8am and the front desk told me that I was misinformed- there was no coffee or breakfast. At 11am my partner and I were lounging in bed and someone from the cleaning staff used their key card to enter our room without a knock or warning. They realized we were in the room, excused themselves and a few minutes later we got a call from front desk apologizing. There should be a better lock system for occupied rooms. Also there is no key card system up to the rooms, anyone could walk into the hotel and help themselves up to hotel room floors.
- 2/5
Rooms had crickets in it, service was poor., Hotel use to be better. Cleaning service came to cleans days it shouldn't and days we requested it didn't.
- 5/5
Great spot! The staff is incredible. The area is safe and quiet.
- 4/5
Very cute with European flair
- 4/5
Room to small
- 5/5
A good value Good restaurant and big bathroom Clean and good service
- 5/5
Fantastic property right off the plaza in Culver City. Rooms are lovely with super comfortable beds. Great restaurant, very kind staff. Third time staying here and will continue to stay when I’m in L.A.!
- 5/5
Hotel was in a great location, everything was within walking distance if you wanted to not leave culver city. it seem like it was a slow weekend so valet had someone always there. they really didnt have to do much with the car though as it was always parked across the street. so at 50 bucks a night for parking i guess the connivence was not having to find parking. only complaints was the room had a squeaky a/c heating unit and the sinks were oddly deep and small but overall place was amazing.
- 3/5
The room was next to the restaurant/bar and thus very noisy
- 4/5
Hotel and restaurant are very cute and the room is comfortable and well designed. I feel like there was something going on with the air or water as my room had a “dampness” to it that felt like it needed an air purifier. This also caused a sort of damp / mildewy smell.. which is not comfortable. If that was improved / fixed my stay would’ve been perfect. Beds are comfortable, and again, cute and well designed. In a very walkable area too!
- 4/5
The hotel is beautiful and the staff was professional. The rooms are very tiny (barely enough room to lay out a suitcase on each side of the bed), but they are clean and the beds are comfortable...perfect for a quick one-night stay not far from LAX.
- 5/5
Really cute hotel. Perfect walking area. We enjoyed our stay. Would stay again!!
- 5/5
Fabulous boutique hotel, stylish, well designed rooms, great staff
- 5/5
This is a wonderful hotel in the middle of Culver City. Everything in it is so beautifully decorated and the rooms are just what you'd want for your stay in LA.
- 5/5
My one minor suggestion would be for a makeup mirror for those of us who need assistance. I will be back!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location in the heart of Culver City
- 4/5
Convenient, nice breakfast.
- 2/5
Charged double by Front Desk. Accommodated me right next to the elevator room in which there was loud talking and coughing coming from the elevator room. Also, they were going to reimburse me the breakfast bill and they didn’t. Only gave me back $160 back out of the $352 that they charged me while checking in. Room was booked through Expedia and was prepaid. Bad communication between employees. Never will i stay in any Pali again.
- 5/5
Place was terrific so much better for my mother to stay in than a generic Sheraton or whatever. Im a big fan
- 4/5
Loved the vibe and location of the hotel, however unfortunately the onsite manager was short with multiple employees in front of us due to a big event buy-out in the restaurant. That was unfortunate, but also we had planned to dine at the restaurant and we're completely locked out of any beverages, food, or sitting in the space from 4pm -10pm on Saturday. We were not made aware of this until we arrived, and the atmosphere was tense and stressful.
- 3/5
Check in was easy. Staff was helpful and kind. It’s just you have to call for everything you need. It was a 4 night stay. I get to my room there’s really 1 or max 2 sets of towels. There’s a fridge. But no freezer and it’s 80% full of overpriced drinks I do not want or you could get for 1/8 the price if you took a 10 min round trip walk max. $14 bottle water? $3 down the street Typical hotel prices. But no pool. No bath tubs. Valet is almost horrible. They ask you to request the car atleast 5-10 minutes ahead I scheduled it for 15 min ahead. Come out in 20 min. No car. Had to wait another 20-30 min with my bags. This almost made me late to my flight! There also is no valet or anyone but the front desk staff around from 12 am-6?7? Am. Not very ideal if you have an early flight etc. you must be residential to park in the street. It’s also in a school zone. So keep that in mind. Other than that their on property dining was nice and the food was good at simonette. Room was quiet and good enough.
- 3/5
In order to park overnight you will also be charged a $48 fee should have gone to a more expensive hotel at that point.
- 4/5
Enjoyed my stay. I wish breakfast opened earlier so I could have eaten in the restaurant before going to work. Other than that it was great and I plan to stay there again.
- 5/5
I’m currently staying at the property and I love staying here. It’s home away from home
- 5/5
Good place
- 2/5
Everything is good except the valet parking!!! We arrived around 11:20 pm to check in on the 1st day. The front desk asked me to stop my car just in front of the hotel door and leave my car key, there would be someone to help me stop my car in a valet place. But the 2nd day, we back late, around 11:30 pm, the front desk told me the valet parking hour was from 6:00 am - 11:00 pm, and there would not be any valet services, I needed to find a place to stop my car, and the valet service would begin on 6 am the next day morning, and they would help me change a parking place! It's ridiculous! I paid $48/day for valet parking, and there is no service from 11 pm - 6 am. I would be outside and use my car for the daytime. when I get back, there are no valet services, why do I need to pay the valet fee??
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
The hotel is impressive. I very much recommend it.
- 4/5
Great location, nice rooms and atrium restaurant
- 3/5
Hotel was old and not well kept. Thrash and boxes in hallway
- 5/5
Very clean! Staff is very helpful and so nice!!
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Quaint. Boutique. Sweet. French. Adorable. Nice people. Safe.
- 5/5
Smart, contemporary design and attentive staff. Great restaurant too.
- 5/5
Such a nice facility and very friendly staff
- 5/5
The room was very nice, on the small side but very clean, and nice, comfortable bed and surprisingly quiet. We would stay again for sure!
- 3/5
Staff is friendly but the rooms AC keep it’s very just and damp in there. The cleaners start to cleanup the courtyard as early as 330am and are it quiet. If you’re looking for a place with zero noise insulation then this is it.
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Lots of options. I personally hate it when hotels have only a ridiculously expensive parking option though.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel in a wonderful location! Very friendly and helpful staff! Look forward to returning!
- 5/5
Charming
- 5/5
Cozy little hotel with a nice bar on site
- 5/5
Nice hotel, quiet location
- 5/5
Only a few minor suggestions - unsure of why there is a resort fee, wifi may need to be strengthened, parking rate should be adjusted, provide complimentary water (especially with the resort fee). Overall, I’d recommend!
- 5/5
Unexpectedly perfect location, very courteous staff.
- 3/5
Not luxurious
- 5/5
Great location
- 4/5
Bed is ridiculously comfortable even though it’s very low to the ground. Hard for a guy 6’2” to get up and down on it. Great staff and everyone is always very friendly.
- 5/5
Great boutique hotel. Small room, but well appointed & quiet. Walking distance to main drag of Culver City, restaurants, bars, etc. Valets were were, front desk staff welcong and helpful. Bar/restaurant was convenient. It seems loud/crowded in the evenings (fun if you are younger than me), but the rooms are really quiet. I would certainly go back.
- 5/5
Unfortunately the elevator stopped working the day after check in so needed to carry luggage down 3 flights of stairs. Other than that - exceptional!
- 5/5
I’m so glad I stayed here for my weekend trip. The place was so cute, convenient and classy. The rooms are clean and contemporary. The restaurant/bar serves great French food. The hotel is central to everything in Culver City, just a minute walk from all the restaurants on the main road. Overall I had a great experience and will stay here again.
- 4/5
Overall clean and nice vibe. Parking fee was unexpected. The rooms are small but nice. Great expresso machine.
- 2/5
I Didn't like it... service was terrible and rude, the rooms were small and noisy.
- 1/5
Great stay except we were double billed by either Hotels.com or the Palihotel. After a pleasant stay, the burden on myself to straighten out the situation left a really bad taste with both businesses. Still trying to rectify the double billing.
- 2/5
The bar/restaurant is very happening but overpriced, and the service is awful, especially the bartenders
- 5/5
Walking distance to my daughters
- 5/5
I stayed two nights on a solo business trip and couldn’t have been more pleased for the value. The decor of the rooms is mid-century modern and reminded me very much of non-chain hotels I’ve stayed at in Paris. The French-style bistro downstairs only added to that feel and charm. The food was equally delicious. The staff is lovely, helpful. Would recommend and will certainly choose this hotel family again.
- 5/5
We were at the back of the hotel which during the week has school kids out the window - but we were not there much during the day so it was fine. Comfortable beds.
- 5/5
The room was really cold when I first checked in but the heating system worked well Was a little disappointed I couldn’t steam my phone to the TV and wish the larger uncovered space at the bar would have been open later The bed and the room in general were very comfortable and the hotel was a really pleasant experience
- 5/5
A hidden gem in Culver City. Lots of charm, great restaurant, walkable to many attractions. Would definitely stay again…
- 4/5
Very small room
- 4/5
The Pali is a well maintained and comfortable space right in the middle of the Culver City vibrant downtown. Maid service never made it in time to freshen our room. The time was late when they checked with us and we needed to get ready for events. It would have been nice if they got to our room before early afternoon. Great walkable neighborhood for our dog. Room service from onsite restaurant was prompt and delicious. Valet parking great service.
- 3/5
Great location and cute hotel. Reception was friendly the restaurant inside was cute and tasty.
- 5/5
Great valet service in a busy neighborhood. Excellent hours for late arrivals. Friendly and competent staff
- 3/5
Cons: My room overlooked the restaurant which was noisy. Restaurant closes at 10P, which is tolerable, but the cleaning staff starts around 3-4A. It’s evident that they make an effort to not make noise but unfortunately I was awoken by moving tables/chairs on two occasions. Plus the air conditioner rattled very loud. The room is also very small but tolerable. But this means that there is no dresser for your clothes. There is a wardrobe but only one shelf for garments. I had a short stay so this was not an issue, but longer stays you’re going to run out of room. They also did not have an iron/board in the room, which was a first for me. Guessing you can request one but by the time I discovered this I had to leave for work. No comp waters either. (What they had was close to $10 iirc.) Fortunately there is a Trader Joe’s in walking distance charging $0.60 for a bottle. So stock up before bedding down. Restaurant: I had a burger for dinner which was greasy but good. It was a happy hour special so well priced. However, I suspect their food is pre-prepped because a few of the items they had a certain quantity remaining, including the soup (which was weird). For breakfast I had oatmeal and a cappuccino. The oatmeal was very watery and the cappuccino was basic. Would I stay again?: Probably for the location, but I would bring some hearing plugs.
