Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago Deer Park

There were teenage girls running and screaming up and down the hallway and their parents were partying so loud it made our much needed sleep impossible.

The hotel is close to restaurants, a grocery store and Deer Park Mall, which is a fabulous open air mall

Excellent choice of local hotels. Lots of stores and restaurants near by.

I have come here regularly for about 8+ years. I have family in the area and I visit them regularly. This is my go to place. Far better than any mid tier hotel. I’ve tried many across the country as I make cross country trips each year. Clean, welcoming, quiet, great staff and the breakfasts are better than most. One winter a staff member helped me clean snow off my car. This Hampton is next to a very nice shopping center. The area around is full of restaurants and shopping. My home away from home.

We live a couple of miles away and needed to bring our two small dogs while doing a kitchen remodel. We were put in a room close to the back door, so it was easy to get the dogs out to a nice dog-walking area. The hotel is extremely quiet and we could not have been more pleased.

We were placed in room 110. We were not told the room was next to the breakfast area. Every morning, we heard the person in the kitchen preparing breakfast. Very noisy. The thermostat did not work properly. It was either too warm or too cold. It did not run consistently. We called the front desk, and we were told the system was automated and nothing could be done. The front desk clerks were not friendly. We were never greeted with a "good morning" or "good evening." The clerks were on their phones quite a bit. Overall, not the best experience.

Breakfast was very good, and the lady working there was very pleasant and helpful. Bed…perfect. Temp control in room…perfect. BUT… no heat lamp or fan in bathroom. No clock in room. Chairs in the room extremely uncomfortable. Self Parking was nice… and at no cost, as was breakfast. No chest if drawers for unpacking luggage.

At around 2 a.m., we were woken by a loud party in the room next door that escalated to the point where the sheriff's department had to intervene. Just as we were settling back in, a fire alarm went off at 3 a.m., forcing the entire hotel to evacuate into the parking lot. We were never informed when it was safe to return to our rooms, leaving us confused and exhausted. I reached out to hotel management afterward to express our concerns, but their response was dismissive. They claimed all procedures were followed and accepted no responsibility for the chaos or the lack of communication during the evacuation. Given the poor handling of the situation and the complete absence of accountability from management, I can confidently say we will never stay at this Hampton Inn again.

Very plain and simple hotel- very sterile.

They seem to be energy conscious. The hotel felt safe and secure. The Front Office and Housekeeping staff are top notch. Very professional and hospitable. I give this property 6 stars. One note. Because of sold out situation, I changed rooms 3 times which I did not mind. None of the bathrooms had exhaust fans. After a shower the rooms felt damp for hours, and my towels didn’t come close to drying overnight. Even with a/c blasting, the bathrooms felt slightly humid at best. Isn’t a fan required by code? Anyway it didn’t spoil my visit at all.

The stay was wonderful. Definitely one to keep in mind when visiting that way again. Spacious rooms, very clean, staff was approachable, friendly & helpful. Breakfast was also very good and found the area very clean! The grounds around the hotel were also very well manicured, my morning walk was very calming and peaceful. Everything was great except the first floor and elevators and gym were under renovation . That was kind of inconvenient. The room was huge and beds comfortable!

The room was renovated but the lobby was all torn up along with most of the area for the morning breakfast. I think they needed instructions on the blinds in the room. I'm sure it will look very nice once everything has been updated. I would stay there again.

It was nice, but Renovations created some odd noises and smells. Wish there was a trash can out front for placing small bags of dog waste. Otherwise I was very happy with the site. Refrigerator in room did not work correctly, but maintenance gave our room a replacement.

This was a fantastic hotel choice! We were far from the crazy busy of Chicago, yet close enough to access anything quickly. Food was great. Hotel was new and clean. Most affordable hotel I have booked in a while. Great experience.

In spite of being under construction and not everything in place I still rated my stay as excellent. My only disappointments were that there was no fridge in my room and that I could hear everything the couple next to me and their dog said and did. I just stayed here back in December on the 2nd floor which is now being updated so I was pleased to be put on the 3rd floor where my room was clean and newly remodeled.

We checked in at 6:45, and no one had told us that they changed the room type on is. We get up to the room and it’s a double queen, when we asked for a king with jetted tub. I was not told at check in that we were downgraded nor was I called/emailed/texted from the hotel itself saying they were putting my husband and I in quite a different room. Nor was there any place stating that the hotel was under construction, that the hallways were not finished and had temporary carpet down…. Just gave me the ick

While the property is undergoing some renovations and our room could have used a few updates, everything was clean and well-maintained. More importantly, it was wonderfully quiet, providing us with a peaceful and restful getaway. The hotel’s location is excellent, with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, which added convenience and variety to our stay. Thank you to the team at Hampton Inn Deer Park for a pleasant experience. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Clean and almost comfortable. This hotel is updating their rooms. We did not get an updated one but it was still comfortable with a lovely view of the park. The light on my side of the bed was not working and the shower really needs to be modernized. Best hotel breakfast buffet I have had in awhile as there was “real” oatmeal! This will be the hotel we book from now on when spending time in the NW Suburbs of Chicago.

I reserved a whirlpool suite for my wife's birthday. I also received an email from the hotel asking if they could do anything during our stay. We packed up for this great day/night and when we went to check in they said they've been having problems with their systems and we they didn't have a room for us.

Some wear and tear on the room plus a shower door off the track, but staff was very congenial and professional…overall a very pleasant stay.

The stay was ok, not great. Room smelled like some sort of glue or paint that was giving us a headache, an hour after check-in, someone knocked on our door and said this was their room. They said they called in a leak and someone was supposed to fix it and then they were supposed to get the room back. That explained the smell as I’m sure they patched it with a glue. We went downstairs to say the room smelled and that people came to our room to tell us about the leak. The front desk guy said he couldn’t help and we couldn’t have another room because he “thought they were pretty much sold out”, although he never actually checked. He said we could contact a manager the next day but he couldn’t help

Overbooked hotel so I wasn’t able to get a room at 10:30 pm after a long flight. Was not helpful in securing another accommodation or even letting me know what hotels were in the area.

The reservation was cancelled by the manager without notification to us. We called the hotel one day prior and they stated they cancelled our reservation because they overbooked for our stay. They relocated us to a hotel 30 minutes away. Even though we booked our reservation 6 weeks in advance they cancelled it. It did not allow us to celebrate the wedding weekend we had planned with our extended family. It was very disappointing.

Nice area, quiet with to noise issues. Clean and well stocked. Issues were with staff. Checked in Friday and found a light out over the vanity. Reported it to desk and was told there was no maintenance available till 6 pm the following day. It was never addressed. Early Saturday evening I went to the front desk for room coffee. No clerk there. Went 3 more times during the next 2 hours. Never saw an employee at the desk. Wouldn’t stay again due to lack of needed service.

I wish breakfast had some cereal options that weren't sugary - maybe cheerios or corn flakes?

It was very clean and the staff was outstanding.

The check-in process could have been better. Given the circumstances—hot weather and my very sick mother waiting in the car—I was hoping for a quicker experience so I could get her into the room as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the process took longer than expected, and the front desk receptionist seemed frustrated, even rolling her eyes and mentioning that the system was slow. It felt like the process slowed down even more when she noticed I was in a hurry. However, the rest of our stay, though brief, was satisfactory.

The location and staff were great! The property itself needs some significant work: wallpaper falling off the walls, dust bunnies all over ceiling, extremely dirty carpets and floors (socks were black after wearing them on the floors), bed dust ruffle didn’t fit right, bathroom door didn’t stay open and creaked every time it moved.

The staff was great, however the room was sub par. There was tile falling off in the bathroom, the air conditioning unit had duck tap holding it together, the beds were miss matched one was lower then the other, furniture was old and had huge marks in it just to mention a few of the things I was disappointed in

This hotel needs some TLC. The staff was friendly, but the room was beat up. The black out curtain had holes in it, the shower head was stuck on the pulse option and the carpet, walls and lamp shade had stains. The fridge and microwave were not properly plugged in, leaving part of the plug exposed. This is a safety issue. The room was quiet and didn’t smell, both a plus. The bedding was comfortable enough too. We felt safe, but will definitely not return.

The front desk was very helpful. The breakfast had a nice variety of choices. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The only complaint is the shower. Water pressure is very low and the shower head needs to be replaced. Took me much longer to shower because the water pressure was so poor to rinse out the shampoo.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times as it is near a family member of mine. The staff is typically very friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet and the hotel is in a nice calm and safe area. This time, the front desk woman completely ignored me while she was on her phone for a while (30-60 seconds), once her manager came out she was much better and more friendly. Their A/C is decent and the Fan On actually works if you turn off the A/C first. Fridge did not have freezer.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The coffee is always available and quite good!

I’ve stayed here a couple times and it is quite nice. Quiet, rooms are spacious, TV works well, nice area etc. The last time I was there, the heater wasn’t working so I had to switch rooms and that one was a bit finicky as well. Overall, a nice place to stay and would stay again.

Everything was good, we stayed there because of the closeness and the indoor pool. We couldn’t access the pool due to a health issues.

Nina (manager) was excellent and helped me several times during my stay. Everyone I met during my stay was super helpful and polite. The hotel is VERY clean. Decor is dated.

Bathroom could use a shower door update. It was stuck. Staff was very nice.
