Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its unique art deco vibe, central location, and proximity to restaurants and attractions. However, there are consistent complaints about the slow elevators, uncleanliness, and poor service, particularly from the front desk staff.

Wonderful stay! I suggest Montwood coffee next door.
- 5/5
Always love staying here when I am in Durham!!
- 5/5
Nice room and staff.
- 5/5
Location and staff are great
- 3/5
Staff was polite and helpful. Hotel artwork was nice to browse. Hotel was within walking distance of DPAC and restaurants. My dislike was for the lack of sound proofing. Excessive noise from people walking in the hallway, cars and trains, and the adjacent room. Beds were hard and a bit uncomfortable.
- 5/5
It was a couple date and i adore the room it was clean and well kept. I loved the decor and the museum was amazing. I also loved the food from the restaurant The only thing I didn't like was the TV It was messing up pretty bad and the room wouldn't never get cool. But When I went to the staff with my concern they was very understanding and respectful about my concerned and fix the problem right away I give them a 9/10. Even though i a little issues I will still come back. thanks again for your hospitality.

Exceptional
- 5/5
The vault and the art exhibits are a great addition to an already interesting building, my kids loved taking it all in. No complaints about my stay.
- 5/5
Always top notch. Beautiful art, amazing rooms and helpful staff.
- 4/5
It is centrally located and within walking distance to DPAC. I like the decor of the room though I hope the lights could be brighter. The reception is not always manned.
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
Only downside is that there were many random noises throughout the night that it was hard to sleep.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Great historic hotel in the heart of downtown. Don’t hesitate, just book it!
- 4/5
Nice overnight stay to attend an event nearby. The room was very clean, staff friendly and conveniently located.
- 3/5
We will find somewhere else to stay the next time We are in Durham.

Property was clean, fun and safe

Clean comfortable room. Helpful staff.
- 5/5
Rooms were large and comfortable
- 5/5
Our room was beautifully appointed and so comfortable. We loved visiting the museum during our stay. Wonderful hotel!
- 5/5
Room was wonderful.
- 4.5/5
The art and friendly staff. We had to wait an hour to be served breakfast. We were told the kitchen was backed up with orders. We ate breakfast one day but went somewhere else the next day.

Could use more signs for check in desk cuz that was confusing but it was a beautiful hotel and would stay there again
- 5/5
Absolutely wonderful time for me and my daughter!!
- 4/5
It was right in the center of town. Walkable to lots of things.
- 4/5
Great location and my king room was spacious- both the room and bathroom. The attached art gallery and water filling stations are a nice bonus. The properly is tired is some areas - including the hallways to walk to your room which look like a hospital. It’s not inviting nor fitting for a 4 star hotel. I realise it’s a heritage listed building, but the hospital feel brings it down and acoustically makes it loud at times. Nespresso machine in my room was broken and clearly ignored / not replaced. One set of blinds was extremely loud and crunching when you open them and one beside light would not turn off - no matter what switch I used. I had to unplug it from the wall. These are small things but they add up because there is a lack of attention to detail for a 4 star hotel. Also some staff were excellent, others looked like they didn’t care at all.
- 5/5
The hotel was great overall, cool artwork
- 5/5
Interesting, unique and tasty breakfast menu. Very friendly staff, especially the valet Parker. Rooms reasonably large and interestingly decorated. Huge, excellent bathroom.
- 5/5
Stanley the doorman and valet is a total jewel! He showed us around the hotel and talked about its history.
- 2.5/5
The museum. I have stayed at other 21c hotels and this one is below par. The room was shabby. It needs a facelift. Nothing special.

Overall the hotel was nice, good location and friendly staff. We had three rooms and two of the three had issues with the AC not working. The staff eventually moved us to new rooms that were better.
- 4.5/5
Beautiful luxe property. Very cool vibe nice rooms. Great bar and restaurant. Museum was a very fun addition. Staff was superb. It is pricey. And $35 a night to park.

I booked a king bed. When we arrived got 2 queen beds. I called front desk first told me I didn't, and then put us in the room I booked. After 20 minutes of the air not working went to front desk and they said going to send someone up. After another 15 minutes moved us to another room with 2 queen beds. I will not stay here ever again.
- 5/5
The museum theme was reflected in every aspect of the property.
- 4/5
Overall fine. Mostly picked for location near DPAC. Main problem was finding channels on TV.
- 5/5
The room was a fun retro style with an amazing bathroom. Best towels I've had at a hotel, thankful for a much better towel than the typical sandpaper, lol. The staff was great and helpful, especially appreciated the front desk and the bell desk.
- 4/5
The museum aspect was very nice.
- 2.5/5
Novel presentation of interior with art No hot water. Phone never worked. Communication to valet didn’t happen and resulted in long wait times

We called the front desk and spoke with Melanie, who said the hotel was fully booked so we couldn’t switch rooms, but that an engineer would come up to fix the AC. Forty minutes passed and no one showed up, so we called again. This time we were told the engineer had already reset the thermostat remotely, but the room was still warm and stayed that way all night. We also noticed rooms showing as available online while being told the hotel was at capacity, which was confusing. By then it was past 10:30pm and we were tired, so we let it go. Not a great night’s sleep. The one highlight was the valet team, who were genuinely kind and went out of their way to help.
- 5/5
The art in the lobby was so fun and interesting The location in proximity to DPAC couldn’t be better

- 4/5
Check in could have gone better — room not ready and lack of communication by front desk staff who behaved as if they couldn’t care less — but everything else (valet parking, room, eco focus, checkout) was great.
- 3/5
2) The checkout area was also under staffed. 3) A hot water shower was not possible. I let the shower run for several minutes before I getting under under the shower. It was bafer,ly tolerable.
- 5/5
There was no place to change my phone in the bed next to the window. Some ifvthe lights were not working.
- 4/5
No hot water

Location and decor No hot water
- 5/5
We were on the 6th floor and it was nice and quiet, and the blackout shades worked so well. We usually wake up early, but we actually slept in because the room was so comfortable and dark. Only small downsides: the ice delivery took a while, and valet was a bit backed up when we arrived. It looked like a U-Haul trailer was taking up space that should’ve been for guests, which didn’t help. But honestly, those were minor things. We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Durham for a show or event.
- 5/5
This is not our first visit to 21c museum hotel. Always greeted by every staff member with a smile and an offer to assist. Room was very clean and well stocked. We were there for a quick visit - a concert and dinner. Excellent location near DPAC and many restaurants.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. Excellent hospitality staff
- 5/5
Great experience here. Easily walkable to local restaurants and cafes. Very friendly helpful staff. Beautiful and comfortable room. Would stay again.
- 3/5
Beds/ living space: was OK. They don’t seem to clean the window areas which I thought was a little weird but hey that’s not terrible. There’s more but I’ll stop there.
- 5/5
Room and staff were great and a short walk to DPAC
- 5/5
Such a cool place. Incredibly friendly staff. Great location. Only issue we had is our A/C did not work in our room, but fortunately it was a cold night so it got pretty chilly anyway.
- 4/5
Clean room, close activities, friendly staff, restaurant on location.
- 5/5
Prime location for events at DPAC.
- 3/5
Historic building with the charm of art museum and in-house gym and sauna for guest use. Improvements needed in guest relations friendliness and room amenities such as extra towels and folding luggage racks which seemed to be in short supply.
- 4/5
Staff were very professional and friendly, from the valet to the check in and check out people, to each housekeeping staff member we passed by. Bed was not great. Nice, spacious room and bathroom.
- 5/5
Cute little boutique style hotel.
- 4/5
Nice bed, clean
- 5/5
This place is so unique and it’s conveniently located downtown. The front desk let us check in an hour early; our room was classy and very clean; it has a nice fitness center and sauna in the basement; and the hotel provided us with a nice welcome card and fruit tray in our room without us asking for this or charging us for it — what a nice touch. It’s one of the best places we’ve ever stayed.
- 5/5
Exceptional staff, very responsive. And very pet-friendly!
- 5/5
Fun area
- 5/5
The NICEST people ever. From the valet to the front desk to restaurant staff, the most helpful and friendly people. The art is amazing and a tour of the vault is a must. Easy walk to the DPAC.
- 5/5
I love staying at this hotel when I am in Durham. The staff is very friendly and professional. The property is unique, clean and well maintained. And I always enjoy taking a walk through the art gallery.
- 5/5
Staff was very kind and accommodating.
- 1/5
Heat didn’t work switched rooms and didn’t work there it was 12 degrees I would have loved to be warm beds are very uncomfortable staff is amazing tho
- 2/5
Upon arrival the AC in the room was not working. The room had a musky odor. Our room was next to the elevator so we heard that all night. Our coffee pot did not work, they offered to send someone up but at that point I decided it was not worth wasting my time waiting and went out and bought coffee. They could have at least offered to send some up from the restaurant. This place looked very appealing on paper but unfortunately the execution was not there.
- 5/5
Everyone was so personal and appreciative of the patronage here. It was a wonderful hotel for exploring the Durham downtown and Duke University. Quaint, easy to navigate, and welcoming. Excellent lodging with art display and also convenient to DPAC.
- 3/5
Night lights weren’t working properly. I asked a housekeeper to pass the message on but no one fixed it.
- 4/5
Lovely staff and great location. Room was super dark. Maybe I’m just getting old.
- 4/5
Staff was very nice despite there being a late check in (room wasn't available at check-in time) and the restaraunt is top notch, loved the cuisine and wait staff there. I do think some of the rooms need to be updated and the lighting was a bit dim, but with the museum and other amenities attached, it's not a bad hotel stay. But definitely could use those improvements above.
- 3/5
The room had no AC and we were not made aware. I called down and they stated they would bring a fan. No one ever brought a fan. I called again and we were moved to an another room which did have AC. They did give me a discount but it was not much. I do appreciate the effort though. No parking nearby an very confusing to actually find the hotel once you are inside.
- 5/5
Really friendly, helpful staff. The room was so great and quiet, even next to the elevators.
- 4/5
Noting really stood out about the hotel; however, the bellmen were great!!!!!
- 3/5
The accommodations appeared somewhat antiquated. While the customer service was commendable, the early check-in fee was not ideal. Overall, the experience of exploring the diverse exhibits within the hotel's museum was positive.
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly. We did notice a bad oder in the bath later that night. We threw a towel over the drain in the floor and that seeme d to help. We very much enjoyed the restaurant and we stopped in for a nightcap after the concert and the bartender was great. Just a suggestion - in such a lovely rstaurant - the waiters would look better in some type of uniform - white shirt and black pants. They were all very good at their job - they just would have presented better in a better dress code. just a thought......
- 3/5
The tub was very slippery. We both almost fell
- 5/5
Room was very clean and spacious wish the light bulbs in the overhead light were a little brighter . Really enjoyed the hotel and the bar and restaurant downstairs. Definitely will be back.
- 4/5
Aside from the heater barely working in the rooms in the middle of winter, it was a nice stay. We moved once and both rooms on both floors had poor heating it was uncomfortable. However, the staff were always professional and friendly. The 4 stars are for them
- 4/5
Good service. Clean
- 5/5
This hotel is our favorite pet-friendly hotel in downtown Durham. During this last visit, I had inadvertently double booked myself a room directly with the hotel and on Expedia. The check-in host was so kind to cancel the room booked directly with the hotel without penalties. I certainly was not expecting that and figured I'd be paying for two rooms due to my oversight. Thank you 21c hotel. That made my day, and I will certainly return.
- 2/5
Restaurant didn’t open, smelled like weed/vaping, hard to find people to help us, strangely empty and never saw other guests or workers, staff responsive to get our car or bring extra towels, dinner at restaurant was excellent
- 5/5
Excellent staff! While this property is known for its art and design, it also has an excellent staff. Every staff member has been very friendly and accommodating on each of our stays.
- 5/5
Amazing staff, comfortable rooms, best shower, convenient location.
- 5/5
Good hotel
- 5/5
Historical Feel
- 3/5
The food options are good, but extremely limited. The museum on the premises is very cool. The staff are extremely nice. The only minor complaint is the room could've been cleaner, and updated televisions and phones wouldn't be a bad idea, and room service would be absolutely amazing!
- 3/5
lighting in the room would also be beneficial.
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous
- 4/5
Overall good hotel and friendly staff. Building and rooms show some age but that is part of the charm. Enjoyable stay.
- 1/5
Racial inequality at its best! I’LL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!
- 4/5
solid place. friendly staff but a bit slow to respond.
- 5/5
Clean room, gorgeous galleries, great restaurant, wonderful staff
- 5/5
Staff was very
- 5/5
Great loved it
- 5/5
Lovely in every way. Great eco friendly hotel.
- 5/5
It’s walking distance to The Novus Apartments and to the Bodega. The smoothie shop Juice Keys is next door and it’s my absolute favorite! I love the art gallery that’s on the second floor. It’s open 24/7 and allows you to walk and enjoy art.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 5/5
Unique hotel with great amenities, and a rotating art gallery. Within easy walking distance of multiple excellent restaurants and DPAC.
- 1/5
The place is not staffed properly after midnight - front desk was not there at all, and it took 30 minutes for me to get my car out of valet so I could get to the airport. Is this chain bankrupt, because the service indicates that.
- 2/5
Terribly value for the money.
- 4/5
Good stay for work.
- 5/5
If you enjoy art you will LOVE this hotel museum. Feels like spending the night in a small gallery.
- 5/5
Great staff and convenient location for us
- 4/5
When we arrived, my room was extremely hot. I let the front desk know & they said they’d send “engineering” to fix. My daughter and I turned the air down to 65 degrees and left for four hours. Came back and the room was still stifling hot. I called front desk again and they assured me it had been fixed. We went to bed very hot and woke up in the middle of the night freezing. Staff was very kind. The hotel seems to be under some level of construction or is just run down. For the price we paid, I would assume it would be a pristine hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal. Valet parking is your only option and VERY pricey.
- 5/5
Nice spot
- 5/5
I absolutely love this hotel. It’s a gem in NC and I love how passionate and friendly the staff are…
- 3/5
Stay was great other than a rude bar tender. Walkable, clean, check in staff kind and helpful.
- 3/5
Not bad the hotel is cool and in a ok location but the pictures are not a representation of every room like the bathrooms/shower does not light up purple like how it shows in the pictures
- 4/5
The hotel is in a very good location. Staff was excellent. I loved the art on display. It was an interesting touch. We will definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Very walkable to shops and restaurants in downtown Durham. The walls seemed incredibly thin and we could easily hear other guests conversations. Self-parking is limited to street parking, which is free on the weekends but is limited to two hours on weekdays. Room was clean
- 3/5
Furthermore, the restaurant was closed upon my arrival (8:30 pm on a Sunday evening). I had to search for a meal.
- 5/5
Very impressed and it's in an amazing location. They also allowed our two large dogs to stay (for a fee) so that was the reason we chose 21c.
- 3/5
Elevators are very slow - and confusing; room was comfortable but very dark - not enough lights. Shower was great.
- 5/5
The museum was fun to explore within the hotel. We also received complimentary bourbon which was a plus! Valet was easy and convenient.
- 5/5
The art collection was incredible.
- 5/5
Great location, close to everything. Love the museum. Sauna and steam room were a big plus!
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
Cute hotel and very friendly staff. Furniture is outdated though and rooms have a loud wind-like and popping sound going through the vent.
- 3/5
The restaurant staff was great but the cook seemed to be having issues - he was not willing to prepare listed menu items and when the food did, the quality of the food was not the best. We only had one breakfast meal there and that was more than enough.
- 5/5
Great stay in downtown
- 5/5
Look out for the pink penguins!
- 5/5
The bar was a perfect place to destress while awaiting test results and Sharri made exceptional expressions of a Martini and an Old Fashioned that hit to the heart of doing something simple with care. The art exhibit was extraordinary in the power that was communicated. Coming from Cuban ancestry, I associated deeply with the wealth of Cuban themes in the art.
- 5/5
Staff was welcoming and always smiling. Location was perfect for us getting to the Durham Bulls baseball stadium. The only negative thing was mandatory valet parking.
- 5/5
While short, my stay was excellent. Beautiful room, wonderful restaurant. Overall very satisfied with my stay!
- 5/5
We used the municipal garage down the block instead of the valet parking. There are nice coffee shops, restaurants and bakeries all within a few blocks of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for an evening at the Carolina Theater.
- 5/5
It was convenient to the Flying Home swing dance at the Durham Armory. Museum had quality art. The open bank vault in the basement was interesting. Valet parking was efficiently run. I recommend a $5 tip. Counting House restaurant was very nice. Their biscuit was more like an English muffin, but not a great one. Everything else was excellent.
- 5/5
The concept is super cool (two floors of a 24/7 art museum?!), the rooms were spacious and managed to be both updated but kept their art deco charm. The front desk folk were incredibly helpful and informative--I couldn't have asked for more during my super short stay.
- 5/5
Fantastic Location!
- 4/5
Staff was fantastic and loved the gallery. The room was not as nice as I expected with a few things not working - nothing critical. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
This was one of the best experiences in a hotel, and I have traveled around the globe. The staff here was absolutely phenomenal, and the manager at the front desk was absolutely lovely, caring, accommodating, and kind. From the housekeeping staff to the valet it was absolutely amazing. The restaurant staff is something to be desired, but hopefully they will learn in time because they all seemed new, but we’re absolutely lovely even though they didn’t know much about the menu. That’s just me being brutally honest. The room was absolutely clean and comfortable, and the best of all was that it was quiet. Everything about the hotel was chic and cool and I couldn’t have wished for better for my short stay to visit my friend in Raleigh.
- 3/5
We didn’t feel safe in the area. The restaurant is very mediocre, specially the restaurant.
- 4/5
The front desk staff were accommodating as the first room we stayed in was changed due to noisy elevator. The valet team was awesome; gave us lots of smiles and tips on where to eat. We did not have enough time to enjoy all of the museum but what we did see was very interesting. The service in the bar area was just blah! As restaurant staff was not so welcoming (espresso machine broken) however brunch the day we were leaving was great so kodos to the Chef.
- 5/5
The location is excellent as so many great restaurants and cafes are within walking distance. The staff is friendly and so helpful! I would highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Wonderful room, great museum, awesome bar...
- 3/5
Museum was wonderful. Food was inconsistent most days just okay, to
- 4/5
Very nice place - well kept - very clean and modern. Art museum running through three floors was a very nice addition to the experience. Bed, however, was rock hard. I’m sure everyone has their individual preference but I’ll have to stay somewhere else in the future just for that reason. Excellent neighborhood and great restaurants all around.
- 5/5
Very enjoyable stay. Great location and staff.
- 3/5
The air conditioning and elevators were not fully operational. Also in terms of food, consider adding non-pork (such as turkey) meat options for breakfast.
- 3/5
Rooms were clean, great bed! Not very pratical for business travel, no workspace in the room I had. Going more for the funky look than functionality. In a very quiet and safe area.
- 4/5
Although my overall stay was very nice, I was surprised by a few items in my room considering the price I paid. Those include a very noticeable and rather suspicious stain on one of the couches, a glass shower door that gave off a loud, sharp sound when opened each time, and a suspicious hole in the side of the mirror as if it had been penetrated by a ping pong ball size rock. Otherwise the museum style exhibit throughout the property was lovely. I understand exhibits are in a rotation with other 21c properies. I would probably return if ever in the area again.
- 3/5
O
- 2/5
Good hotel overall but they gave be a double when I booked a king bed and after I went back to tell them, they blamed it on the Expedia system and couldn’t give me the room I booked. One of the staff said to leave my contact info at the front desk and they would talk to the manager but no one at the front desk took my contact information.
- 4/5
Lovely backdrop of incredible art. The staff were friendly but clueless when it came to recommendations for outdoor eating and other questions asked about the area. They were very courteous about not knowing, but it would've been helpful to have suggestions. The young lady that checked me in was very helpful throughout my stay . I usually say the Marriott when in Durham, but I would give 21C another try.
- 4/5
Parking was pricing considering other properties offered much lower parking fees. Dining was nice. It was good to actually have a breakfast in the morning and not a muffin. Rooms were okay, although the bed was not very comfortable. Overall it’s just okay.
- 5/5
Amazing staff and managers! It was such a fun art gallery combined with a very comfy room. The location is also awesome! You can walk to a ton of good restaurants and be sure to check out The Parlour if you want a scoop of ice cream.
- 3/5
Well it is a good hotel, but we were there for 3 days and they never cleaned our room. Despite seeing housekeeping cart on our hall, they never cleaned. We ran out of toilet paper & towels & had to ask for them. Valet parking is very slow. Says it takes 20 minutes, but we waited for 20 minutes for someone just to show up one morning. We opted to park in street our last night so that we wouldn’t have to wait so long for our car to head to airport. They were working on broken elevators on our floor and the men began clanging and drilling & making noise at 7:30. Overall our stay wasn’t pleasant.
- 3/5
Hotel is in an old bank has some character but also has poorly running elevators and check in on the second floor
- 4/5
Cons: unfortunately, the conversion of this old office building into a hotel is incomplete - a broken elevator, chipped old floors, terrible lighting in the guest rooms, a suspicious odor in the bar area - it feels like an incomplete remodel. The broken elevator meant that floors 7-15 were all relying on one old elevator. This was quite inconvenient. The art takes the place of comfortable public spaces to meet up with your group, so even that potentially appealing detail turned out to be a negative overall.
- 3/5
I felt like the room was way overpriced! I also felt that the lighting in the room was a lot to be desired. The way the buttons worked, either all the lights were on or all the lights were off. That was the most unusual thing I’ve ever seen in our room, and I travel quite a bit! I also felt my throne was very small with little or no sitting space.
- 3/5
Also like the Durham and Unscripted, 21C struggles with the basics: Cozy Bed, Cold AC (or heat if that’s your thing), The room was clean, quiet, and looked great. Bathroom could do with a better showerhead. The AC fan never seemed to turn on no matter what, so the room was a too warm. The mattress was hard and lumpy.
- 2/5
Buildings smells. Towels smell very dirty. Water filters in the filling stations were expired. AC in first room didn’t work and had to move. Elevators are also dirty.
- 5/5
The sraff was amazing. Will stay again
- 5/5
Great Location
- 1/5
The staff at this location were very friendly and very nice. The only complaint I have is for $450 for a room. You think the room would be just a little better. There was a stain on the carpet. There was no hot water. We called down up front and still didn’t get any hot water went to the concert five hours later still no hot water and we had a room next to something that was humming the whole night the shower head in our bathroom need to be changed out all did was leak water so basically the room was quite disappointing, but we may be back. We like the location because it’s close to the Dpac.
- 5/5
Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again!
- 1/5
Dirty, run down place. Horrible hotel experience.
- 3/5
The hotel is in fair condition and room was clean. Downside is the room AC which didn’t work properly and room was a bit musty. We had to swap rooms in order to get a less musty experience. For some reason we didn’t have hot water running at all in the evening nor in the morning…not to bad since the weather was hot, but this is not a 3 star hotel should miss in any circumstances. I recommend other hotels near by for weekend stays/visits.
- 4/5
Staff were all very helpful, but the air conditioning in our room didn’t work. They moved us to another room. The art work in the hotel is a definite plus. The hotel is a moderate walk to several restaurants.
- 4/5
The art!
- 5/5
The staff from valet, front desk, house keeping, maintenance, and restaurant were friendly and polite, made our experience lovely!
- 5/5
Very close to the Carolina Theatre
- 4/5
It is a great place ! My only issue is that the bed was really uncomfortable.
- 3/5
The staff was top notch, and the aesthetics pleasing. I did, however, find the beds, bedding, towels, and robe to be subpar. Not a great sleep or shower experience.
- 4/5
The room was nice with a comfortable bed. It is in a very walkable area and close to many restaurants. The staff was not very attentive and check in was a bit chaotic. The building also needs some renovations.

The history of this property is unique along with the exhibits. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and it was a really speacial experience.

Door man was great. Property needs repairs/up keep

The hotel is oddly organized - hard to find the front desk. Valet was not there when we returned from dinner. Room was 85 degrees when we came I. We turned the thermostat to 65 before we left for dinner and when we returned it was still 78 degrees. Air was not working.

An elevator was down so, getting through the hotel was slow. The heat sucked. I know it's sensored but it still took a long time to warm. There was a stain on the couch. Other than that, the staff is great, room design is cool (get smart TVs tho, cable sucks). I would stay again, if y'all got smart TVs lol

The hotel has an older charm, and the pictures—along with the museum—make it look appealing. However, the reality was disappointing. The elevators were run-down, the interior was dated with stains everywhere, and there was exposed wiring in the hallways. Most importantly, the heat went out on Valentine’s Day, leaving us freezing all night. We had trouble sleeping because of the cold, which is why we requested a late checkout—but they refused. They also ran out of space heaters and only offered a free breakfast (which I had already paid for) as compensation. Overall, a very underwhelming experience.

Heat wasn’t working in my room and it took forever and multiple attempts to get rectified.

Great location, friendly staff, valet and clean rooms. The hotel's art museum and vault made it a unique experience.

Our stay wasn't bad. The rooms need a little renovation on the carpet. Its time for some new carpet in the room. Or change the carpet out for marble or some sort of laminate.

Very impressed with our first stay here. Unique hotel. Spacious room. Great staff.

High hopes not met. Front desk person explained all amenities and room charges but spoke so low and fast I couldn’t understand. The tv would dim the brightness down after 10 seconds being on a channel. The shower door would make an extremely loud noise every time it opened and closed. I couldn’t get one of the curtains/blinds to close. The led light in the bathroom was broken so it would flash lights. Lots of weird of noises at night.

Enjoyed the “drink cards”. Polite staff. Dirty sheets. Worn furniture

My stay with my honey was overall good the problem the room had no heat. Even telling the front desk the heat wasn’t fixed nor was a room offered we snuggled up close and checked out next day.

Considering it is known as an art hotel the wall color in our room was incredibly boring s as was the art work. ( The lobby was very well appointed so we did not expect this). Room service was dismal. So many things forgotten requiring multiple trips back to the kitchen. Food was ice cold at breakfast. On Saturday morning we asked for two soft boiled eggs and two hard boiled eggs. I had the order repeated back to me. We received 4 hard boiled eggs. When they called to see how things were we told them about this and she said she’d tell her manager and get back to us which never happened. It’s been a very, very long time since we have had a poor experience at hotel. We were quite taken back by this. Again the staff was very friendly but we will not be back.

In addition 2 of the four elevators were not working, creating long wait times. Just an overall sense of lack of facility maintenance.

This hotel stay was a great experience. A friendly valet met us at the curb and directed us to the lobby. The room was very comfortable and had a lovely view. We were able to walk to dinner at a nearby fabulous restaurant. At check-in we were given 2 drink tickets for the hotel bar and then walked around the gallery in the hotel after dinner with our drinks, viewing excellent artwork.

Cody at the front desk gave us excellent service, very accommodating and helpful. Would definitely keep coming back.

We loved it. The morning breakfast was a little pricey but excellent. We are able to park on the street for free very close by on a Friday night. No Saturday metering.

Jacqueline, the office manager, was amazingly helpful.

We love this place! Every staff member is super helpful. The rooms are terrific and the artwork really sets the place apart. We also enjoyed the sauna! Our only regret is never having enough time to take it all in. We’ll be back!

Art, cleanliness, eco conscious, and fun bar.

The hallways, bathroom vents and corners, and carpet around bed was dirty. It was also inconvenient that they took payment so many times during my stay instead of incidentals at the beginning and final price at the end.

Loved the concept, decor was great. Nice to have a restaurant a joined to hotel . We were able to find street paid parking ( week days)

WE COULD NOT MAKE IT. WE ARE DISAPPOINTED

Staff welcoming & helpful. Valet parking was well worth it as streetside parking was difficult near the hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom & shower spotless! Bonus was our corner room with a view of the Christmas festival & tree lighting going on. Enjoyed the art museum aspect as well. Just a 5 minute walk from DPAC & many restaurant choices. Would highly recommend!
