My overall stay was good. The jets in the Jacuzzi did not work. Service was good.

It was close to the highway and restaurants. Didn't like the parking situation..since it seemed open for non hotel guest to park. We couldn't get the television to work either.. they should make it simple. My father who is 70 years old couldn't get a channel

For the price and location the room was decent and clean enough. Noise from the freeway was loud and a draft from under the door made the room cold so I had to cover the bottom with a towel.

This is an older, well-used property that shows the signs of its ageing. That said, it's safe, clean and well-maintained. It's a top value for its price and I would gladly stay there in the future.

The location is not so good there is a lot of homeless and their campsite next to the parking lot of this location. The breakfast was a bit disappointing I usually like booking a room for the free breakfast for my family.

The hotel room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The property looked a bit worn. We chose this hotel as it was near the church we were going to the next day. That worked out well.

I loved it. My children and I loved it compared to other motels in this area and we tried quite a few of them. I've booked in this motel more than once, and I'll continue to book here especially since it's right next to the highway and shares parking lot with Dennys and Starbucks. Chevron Gas station/ Extra mile store across the street. Very clean. Continental breakfast, and if you dont like the breakfast, there's a good taco shop on the other side of the freeway, Garcia's tacos shop, which also ahs a nothe gas station across from it. This place has a nice separate jacuzzi room. The pool is always clean. The area is clean. They have washer and dryers, and an Ice machine in the same room. I loved that it had the ice machine my family love ice and we had our coolers with us for the road so it was nice to have free ice for my coolers. The cleaning ladies are nice and very helpful. Attentive to anything you mightnneed for your room if you happen to book for than one day. I love it for the price. The location and its surroundings. You can find a walmart neighborhood store within 5 mins away. And much more. I dont have anything bad to say about this place.

And for the price (I used the app Booking, which gave me discounts) it was fai enough. It does include a continental breakfast, has a washer and dryer room with the ice machine for those who like me love ice, or for any emergency you need ice for swelling or even a migraine, or if you simply want a cold refreshed drink.and u have the drink but need the ice, you have access to that ice machine. I have two coolers and I was able to fill them up everyday (that's a plus, because u dont have to run to the store to get ice) The jacuzzi, my kids loved, especially because it has it own separate room right next to the pool. Overall a great experience, I would definitely come back if I needed an affordable motel in el Cajon area with gas stations near by and good tacoshop nearby and not to mentoon a Dennys and Starbucks and right at the exit and entrance to the I-8 highway. Near everything. Few mins away from sevral fast food places just jump into you maps and you'll see what's near by. Very good. The only con would be that I did see some drug users near by and for a mom of 5 little ones is a major concern but is not like they get close to you or try to approach you. If you mind your own business and let them be, they won't do or say anything they're just probably just passing by. They were not staying in the motel, but since it's open to the parking lot that is shared with a Dennys and a Starbucks well anybody can pass by. It's not a secured gated motel, so basically anybody from the street can pass by your window if they wanted to. But I did NOT see nothing like that happen. This is just for those other Mothers out there wondering if it's a safe place to take their precious kids. I say I would definitely come back with my children, because during my stay, everything went smooth and calm and it was during easter weekend.

Day’s Inn has a great location for traveling on foot, bus or trolley to many locations. I will stay here again on my next trip.

Called prior to booking to ensure their hot tub was working, due to previous disappointments, and was assured it was and was told the hours. However, not one time in my six night stay was the hot more than luke warm. I would complain and be told that it would be turned on earlier in the day to ensure it was hot. Never happened. The hotel itself is older and could use maintenance, the rooms were clean, and the staff was responsive in all other areas, just assume that they don't really have a working jacuzzi and you eill be fine.

The room was clean. The faucet in the bathroom sink needed repair, it sprayed everywhere. That would be room 110.

The tub was clogged and we couldn't shower and had to kill a cockroach in the middle of the night. We couldn't change rooms because they were sold out. Breakfast the next morning was lacking, no yogurt or waffles and mostly bread ends were left.

When I arrived that evening the lady at the front desk was very nice and friendly. I was in my room within minutes. Now the lady in the morning, she gave me the impression that I was bothering her, she seemed annoyed. She was not friendly at all.

It could be ok if using this hotel over night, we stayed 3 nights, it was too long to enjoy the trip.

The property was extremely dirty with dirt and hair build up everywhere as if they only did the bare minimum of changing the sheets and towels. There were bugs all over the room (including on the headboard). There is an arroyo next to the property that frequents homeless. The front desk failed to disclose that cash deposits cannot be given out until 9 am on the day of checkout. My room’s window faced directly into someone’s backyard as well:) making it too awkward to even open the curtains.

From the moment I arrived, everything was handled with professionalism and care. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Every detail—from the service to the overall atmosphere—made the experience truly enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again. Nothing comes to mind.

The room was very clean. The refrigerator and microwave were very clean. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. The check-in experience was great. We are seniors, and the manager did not have a king room for us downstairs, so he upgraded us to a king suite downstairs at no extra cost. We were very grateful for his thoughtfulness and kindness. I like more towels in the bathroom, as when I wash my hair I need an extra towel. More coffee in the room would be great and also an extra blanket.

The bed was comfortable. Everything was fine until we woke up the next morning and the coffee maker did not work. My husband went to the office to get us a cup of coffee and it was barely warm. I asked him how their breakfast looked and he said it was not much more the cereal. We left and went elsewhere for breakfast.

Room smelled like cigarettes when entering. The bed is uncomfortable. Pillows are very flat and woke up with neck pain. Hardwood floor was dirty. The shower had shareable body wash and shampoo on the wall. I understand it cuts waste from single use but you never know what a previous guest may have placed into the liquid and you already provided single use bar soap. The water pressure was poor and it took 5 minutes for the water to get remotely warm. During my online check in I asked for a room away from noise. My room was 221 which although felt secluded, you could hear the freeway all night. The rooms walls are thin and the beds share walls, heard more from my neighbors than needed. The bedroom window has no screen and looks into the neighbor who has a German Shepard that barks randomly at night. The area has some crime. There was a suspect on the loose nearby with choppers in the air and police nearby which lasted about 18 minutes. Continuous police sirens and chases heard.

Overall the room was okay. The shower plug was broken, there was a repetative light from the phone that kept going off, and it's almost been a week and I still haven't been refunded my deposit.

I stayed here for Three nights. The main reason why I booked this hotel compared to other hotels at same price range was this hotel had a Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi was not working, but staff had told me it was working when I called ahead to ask. This hotel advertises complementary breakfast. Their complementary breakfast only consists of toast, waffles, pastries, and coffee. The boiled eggs had gone bad. I was disappointed with the breakfast.

The "breakfast" was stale cereal, frozen waffles or toast, the customer service was terrible 5 out of 6 staff were rude, we couldn't get our room cleaned because they "didn't have time", and there was NO hot water it got luke warm at best. Truly the worst hotel stay I've had.

Despite complaining, there was no hot water in Room 118 either the evening of 12/6/2025 or the next morning. I was assured hot water would be restored by morning. It was not and no remediation or compensation was given.

Our room had the highway right behind us and could be heard in the morning. We also saw 2 cockroaches. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were cleaned up daily and well maintained. Looked recently renovated.

The front desk staff was efficient and friendly fly. The room was very nice, clean and big with a nice comfy bed and big bathroom with lighted mirror. The surrounding area may not be the best, but i felt completely safe at the inn.

Staff was friendly but the room had roaches I showed the front desk a video of them on the bed. Room smelled like someone had smoked in it before. Lots of transients roaming the property grounds and parking lot.

Lobby and "breakfast" are all in one place. Breakfast is very, very limited. Toast, frozen waffles, packaged danishes, cereal, hard boil eggs, coffee, tea and juice. No fruit, no oatmeal, no bagels, no eggs or meats and not muffins. Poor. I guess you get what you pay for. I wouldn't vacation there, just a night to crash. Lastly, neighborhood is sketchy. Dennys and Starbucks in the same parking lot.

The property was not in a nice location, it looked as if it was an apartment building instead of my hotel

I spilled water from my water bottle and cleaned it up with a towel from the bathroom. The towel was filthy, the floors in our room were absolutely disgusting. When I told the front desk this, she said ow well they may charge you for that towel. Mind blowing, just mind blowing; your floor were filthy and me using a towel to clean up clear liquid, the same liquid the towels is made for I. The bathroom and you could care less about how gross your room is and just about your towel. Do not stay here! Horribly dirty, unsafe areas, staff is just totally unbelievable.

Over all it was ok. Our tv never worked they tried to fix it but signal kept going out. Room 226. Then the thing that threw me off the most is the free breakfast wasn’t a hot breakfast. They do have boiled eggs, toast, two types of cereals, milk, hot tea and coffee and some pastries but I was hoping it was one with eggs and sausage. Room was very clean and comfortable and Yisinia the maid was stellar. She was awesome!

Walked in room and it smelled like civilization. Had to use my husband’s cologne all weekend just for the smell to go away. There’s a cap on the door that’s big enough for bugs and rodents and air from outside to come in. One of the lights on the dining area was very dim. The bedframe was extremely dusty very as it was never cleaned for two years or so. One of the staff at the front desk was not the friend Elias did not smile. Did not have a welcome attitude And just seem like she did not want to be there helping people. There was no parking around the area we had to wait for someone to leave in order to park on a spot where we would not get to. The area doesn’t seem safe. There was a car parked in the hotel area that was just hanging out in the parking lot Looking at other people pass through.

The room itself looked okay, but it wasn’t very clean. The folding bed still had a dirty blanket left from the previous guest. It was also quite loud since it’s right next to the freeway.

Stayed for a place to sleep while on a work trip. The king size room was large and exactly what I needed but King Size Beds Deserve King Size Pillows (not a bunch of little square pillows.) Besides that, ample parking & close to the freeway.

The room had remodel issues from inexperienced workmen; huge bubble in the laminate floor from improper installation, bathroom sink faucet handle was mounted backwards.

Room was very nice and brand new. The only thing was it smelled like cigarette smoke. I think it might have been a smoking room at one time.

The room was clean but there was a smell like someone was smoking in the room sometime ago. It was not super strong and hotel probably attempted to get rid of it but it was not completely gone. The worst thing about this hotel was breakfast. I have been to many hotels in US and other countries and this one was easily the worst. The area around hotel was average. There were restaurants and shopping in the neighborhood but also homeless people staying next to hotel. Overall, it felt like a cheap hotel

We arrive there at 12:30 AM and the employee end up giving us a room which was already occupied. We were trying to open the room and we heard a person inside the room. When we went back, the employee didn’t even apologize. After that, we got another room on this room. The AC didn’t work. The shower tub was clogged so we were not able to shower. Also, it didn’t have an iron as well. I suggest no one booked this hotel.

When I arrived at checkin the Front Desk shouted from the back office to wait she will be right up and contined her personal ohone call for 5 minutes. I checked in and dropped my bags off to go for dinner. When I arrived back to my room the deadbolt did not latch on my door. I called the front desk and was askwd very rudely how come I didnt check the door when I checked in and there was no maintenence available. I asked about another room and was told Nope none available. I slept with my table and chairs against the door. The next day i talked with the front desk again no empathy and she came to my room to check the lock. She said if maintenance couldnt fix I had to return to checkout of my room for another room. Maintenence would be there at 12 and would need to checkout afterwards. Iwas told I couldnt cancel my reservation. The property is outdated, dirty, noisy and smelt of marijuana smoke. I will not be staying here in the future. Waste of money, in the future booking a hotel or air bnb.

The exterior of the hotel is poorly maintained and completely run down. The floors of the room were absolutely filthy and made the bottoms of our feet black. The "breakfast" that was offered was slices of white bread and hard boiled eggs. When asked if they could refill the coffee pot in the lobby, we were told that would take 30 minutes. The overall experience was TERRIBLE! This hotel should be removed from hotels.com

The room was extremely dirty. The floor was so dusty we wiped the kids feet off with a small towel and they charged us $100 for it. They kept my deposit and the woman was very very rude.

I originally messed up and actually needed the room until the 24th and I only had it booked until the 23rd. I asked the hotel at the beginning to book me another day. When I went to complain about the roaches on the 23rd (because that's when I found them), they told me I couldn't book another night and I had to leave.

The room was clean. Furnishing a bit dated, It was a quiet area and close to coffee shop and restaurants. Over all was a good experience and I would stay there again when in the El Cajon area.

Also - and this is a random problem but maybe indicative of the service/mgmt team - I called ahead to see if I could have a package delivered to the hotel; they said yes, as long as it showed up during my stay or on the day I would check in. It was an item I needed during my trip. Well, they turned the package away when it arrived a couple hours before I checked in. It was returned to sender and I wasn't able to get that item. Pretty upsetting; I would have found another way if they didn't give me the green light to send it there. I think this shows poor communication and poor guest consideration on the management/service team side. Also, the breakfast offering left a lot to be desired. We ate at the Denny's next door instead. Still, not the worst place I've stayed. It'll do in a pinch.

Clean, good value, comfortable & plenty of room. Not much offered for breakfast, but having a Denny's right there helps.

Tv wasn’t working

The experience was horrible. The room smelled extremely bad. The water was barely coming out of the shower and the sink. The land phone in the room was out of order. The breakfast supposedly was till 10 am, at 9:30 I came no coffee, no food, no water, only bread and jam. There was no staff on site. Horrible experience!

Terrible

There was bed bugs from room 120 and in another room our guys tripped over a big lump in the middle of the floor. Looks like the floor is raising from the bottom.

They kept my $100 deposit over cereal we spilled on accident .forget this place !!! It sucks

The 6 rooms were for our employees working in the San Diego area. Have not heard any complaints from any of them.

The room was clean newly refurbished. All good till one uses the pillow they old lumpy very uncomfortable. Breakfast ws very little ran out of coffee hot wayer never replaced. Same with the waffles that were poor to start with wet and limp. I expected the usual Days Inn breakfast this wasnit it. No milk fir the cereal, n̈o yogurt, just poor. I'll try another motel next visit.

Nice and clean.

I always chose this location to stay at ,its safe ,Dennys and Starbucks are in the same parking lot and driving distence to Seaworld and other attractions. The staff is normally good...but new faces alond with increased deposits. I normally book 2 rooms and only am required to pay 100 deposit for both of the rooms since I come here often but this time 2 seperate fees and $150 each. So I was not to happy about that .

This hotel is conveniently located next to a Dennys and a Starbucks but it’s also right next to the freeway so it’s noisy and there’s a lot of foot traffic. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My one complaint is that the mattress was on a mesh metal platform that made a lot of noise which was strange. Overall for the price this was a good value. I was traveling alone and didn’t feel completely safe so I wouldn’t stay here again unless I was traveling with someone else.

Room clean. Daily cleaning which is what I like

Not recommended to arrive around 11pm during employee shift change, they had me waiting for 20min to get their system back up.

This is an older hotel, but has been refurbished and is kept very appealing cosmetically. The grounds were clean and litter free. It was too cold for the pool, but maybe another time because it also looked clean and well maintained. The staff were pleasant and efficient so check-in was a breeze. The water pressure in the shower was weak and it took quite a while to get warm, but it was do-able. I definitely would stay at this hotel again.

I didn’t like the fact to be outside doing the check in.
