Don’t. Just don’t. The room hasn’t been updated since 1972 and it smells like it.

Love this place, mostly because of the exceptionally kind staff, the large rooms and the fact that I’m able to bring my dog with me. I’ll be back for sure!

The room was clean and nice. However, the internet was down and any actions related to that such as credit card charge when checking in, were moot.

Last 2 stays, problem with the bathroom. Shower head sprayed everywhere and toilet flushed slowly.

The rooms are large and clean

Old and dated. Room was really hot someone left the heater to 78. Building is run down and room outdated. A lot of the machines in the casino were down. Disappointed with the whole place. Slept with a chair against the door I was creeped out.

The rooms were so outdated and the area questionable. We thought we were staying at a Red Lion hotel but it isnt. The hotel across the street was the old Red Lion which had much better casino. Definitely wouldnt stay here again.

The phone in the room was broken. They did not have any shampoo in the room. Housekeeping didn’t come around for three days. Most of the furniture looks pretty well worn I believe this hotel could use a little updating for sure. We will not be staying here again.

Room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. I didn't hear road noise and it is in a great location. Front desk staff were very friendly. Will stay here again.

Big room

We always stay at gold country a very nice place to stay.

We were only there to sleep for the night. It met our needs. The room was plenty large and warm for such a cold night. The bed was comfy!

I stayed multiple days and my room was not cleaned in between times. I did not know that I had to schedule my room to be cleaned. That is absurd. I travel a lot and this is the first time that I had to do that and I was not told other than that the room was OK

Our favorite place to stay when visiting Elko. Desk clerks are very friendly and they seem to give us our favorite room each time.

Staff very friendly. Pet friendly is the number one reason to stay here. We stay here every time we are in town.

Since we have pets that travel with us we love to stay here and front desk staff is very nice.

Room was fine, but I had 5 full gas cans stolen from the back of my truck. I even parked in a lighted area where the truck was in full view from the restaurant. This was a hunting trip. I guess I was lucky that was all that was stolen.

There is issues on that sections of the buildings with cable tv. I also tried six different ice machines and none of them were working.

The room was clean, mattress a bit hard, pillows were tiny and flat. Our tv didnt work so maintenance had to come in. The coffee pot was good, nice to have a whole pot of coffee. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The shower was great!

They charge you and extra 15dollars when you get there. Food is not any good anymore. Best to skip their diner and walk down to taco John’s or the pizza place or something.

Loud loud fire alarm that just would not stop. Employees said it happens all the time. Ouch. We have kind of had it with this place. The food is terrible now. Oh. They add an extra 15 fee when you get there. If things like that make your head explode do not stay here. I ment to complain to Expedia because I think it is against their rules but I forgot all about this place.

Hotel was nice. Only complaint was the ice maker in my building was out of order, so had to walk to the other building. Which was close.

Alise was so incredible at check in. She was wonderfully kind and helpful….I can’t say enough about her and we will come back here for many reasons…large clean rooms, great location, perfect midpoint stop for our travel from CA to ID……but Alise would be another reason for us to stay here again!

We made the reservation only a few hours in advance and checked in late as we’d been driving all day. Christy (sp?) at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also large and bright and it was nice to shower off after a long, hot drive through NV.

The exterior is a little deceiving based on my first impression i didn't expect the room to be so clean. There was an issue with the first room they gave me in that the key didn't work. They said it was because i demagnitized the key. Not the case when maintenance couldn't open it with their master key. Twenty minutes later and a different room all was good. Front desk, security, and maintenance all very nice and accomidating when i requested a first floor room when i asked at check in. Wasn't crazy about the fact the smoke alarm had been removed from the room. All in all i would stay there again.

The only thing we had a problem with was the A/C was either freezing cold or warm, it didn’t seem to have an in between. The bed was a little firmer than I’d like, but it was still a good bed. They need to do something about the faucets as they were very hard to turn on. The room was one the cleanest rooms I’ve ever stayed in.

The room could’ve been nice had it been cleaned/ at least vacuumed! It had a charm, albeit an old school charm. It was spacious. The front desk offered to reduce a charge but no room accommodation that matched our “premium” price and booking agreement was offered or granted. There’s an issue with what we booked and what we got. The people in the area/-some in same hotels, some in other hotels— the neighbors were very helpful, which I thought was sweet The neighbors helped us when hotel staff could not In any case, we left for another hotel that night: a huge inconvenience

The staff was very friendly. We knew going in the hotel was older. The furniture was very well 'loved'. It needed a major upgrade/renovation. The outside needed some serious repairs. The cleanliness of the room was fine. We got in late and left early, so only needing a fews hrs to sleep, it was fine.

First we booked because the property said it was pet friendly. Upon arriving they said they were not. They would accommodate us but would have to change our room. We didn’t realize we were being changed from king room with sofa to double bed with barely enough room for wife’s walker. There were bar’s in toilet area but the one on the side wall was so far away it was of no use. At 1 am the toilet started running water and there was no way to get it to stop so we finally had to turn its water supply off. This property’s description on internet needs truthfully postings as to condition and amenities.

Staff were super nice! TV did not work and couldn't get the toilet to flush all of the way most of the time.

Conveniently located. The room was spacious and comfortable. Some signs of wear and tear on the outside, but a good place to stay. Our TV would not work properly, in spite of a delayed visit by the maintenance person.

I always would like to have an early check-in. I had to wait two hours after I showed up at one, but that was OK. The outside of the property needs to be a little freshened up and I know you live in the cold snowy area, but the holes in the parking lot need to be patched. The inside of the room was very nice. I had one of those huge rooms with the king size bed room number 141 and everything was good there.

This poor property has definitely seen better days. It definitely needs a complete overhaul. I guess it was probably clean enough, but because it's so old, it just appears dirty. The bed was so old and uncomfortable, the air conditioning either froze us out or didn't work. The bathroom...ugh. Re-do the bathrooms. The staff was absolutely lovely, though, so that was very nice.

Gold Country used to be my #1 choice when staying in Elko, but the property seems to be running down. Ceilings are falling in, carpets badly stained, wallpaper peeling, light fixtures damaged and the parking lot is full of holes. Staff attempted to charge "fees" when I had prepaid online and it said my price included the fees.

Booked property for the use of pool. Pool was not available but front desk was kind enough to make accommodation next door for pool use.Room was clean. Wooden Headboard was broken and refrigerated was broken and had a foul smell.

It is an older property. Casino was small with only video gambling. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were dated but they were big, clean and comfortable.

Looks nothing like the pictures. If this had not been a one night thru stop on a road trip, I would have definitely asked for my money back and changed hotels. The check-in person was lovely but needed humor to explain the giant potholes to avoid and other obvious issues. I had to use Clorox wipes I had in my bag to clean the toilet as it had feces on the seat. Rooms were completely dates and reached of deodorizing spray covering other odors. And early this morning, there were 4 police cars apprehending someone in the parking lot.

Some of the finest front desk staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Lisa did an amazing job. The place itself is on the older side, but really is immaculately cleaned. Would recommend a stay on that alone. The place can get a little noisy when the miners fire up their 2500’s and head in to work early in the AM, but that’s to be expected in a mining town.

Not like the web site said. No pool tables and pretty poor plumbing. We changed rooms once just to get in a room with the same poor plumbing. Restraunt was ok. Rooms were nice and large. But i wont stay there again.

Cheap and close to the casinos…. The air conditioner and bathroom fan are really noisy… we wanted inexpensive and safe… that’s what we got! Parking right outside the room!

They have serious maintenance issues. I had to change rooms cause the TV in the original room did not work. Two of three pieces aerobic exercise equipment were broken. Restaurant was of marginal quality, but a little high on price given the quality.

The room was very 1990’s which we loved. It was very clean and very comfortable. The only issue was the toilet didn’t flush very well. We told the front desk so they could fix it.

Their toilet keeps running, and the heater is way hot even when we would turn it down??? But everything else was great

Check in great. Trey knew it would be a late check in. Older property and needs a little TLC especially in the bathroom but it was otherwise comfortable and pretty clean

Bad room, no shampoo, fridge did not work, they had to move me to another room, the maintance man did not seem like he cared about fixing the issue.

Not vacuumed found candy and trash from previous occupant. Noisy and crowded. Long wait to check in in a smokey room.

Only thing I didn't like about the property was the potholes as I was coming out. I had to wait for another vehicle to go by so I could get in that lane to avoid the potholes in my outgoing lane. Other than that, the property was good.

Spacious room. Torn chair upholstery and food crumbs on couch were a negative. Sami at breakfast in restaurant was wonderful.
