Room awesome, breakfast great.

Greeted warmly at the reservation desk. Clear instructions for breakfast location and hours, swimming pool time etc, room was clean . Airy, comfortable bed. Definitely staying there again

Noisy, cheaply built and not well cleaned

They have a bit of everything. Clean, friendly, spacious rooms, breakfast, pool and hut tub, close to a huge Albertsons, and the restaurants downtown. As good a freeway stop as you could wish for.

Fantastic stay. The only concern would be the mattress in the room. Very used. You felt as if you were sleeping at an angle.

The property looked really nice and clean, but when you walked in the front door, it had a strange odor to me. The place was very clean. The rooms were great. The beds were comfortable. The staff was wonderful. The breakfast consisted of eggs and bacon and you could make waffles on the sideboard. We will probably stay there again if we go that direction.

Otherwise the stay was nice and it was nice to have a pool/Jacuzzi that was usable and not "under repair" like other hotels we have stayed in.

Cleaning staff could pay better attention; toothpaste on sink from last person staying in the room, kept stepping on bits on the carpet, could have been vacuumed better. Breakfast was the same for three mornings in a row. Lots of parking. Front desk and breakfast people were friendly.

This hotel is marketed as a 5 start but it's really 3.5 at best. Pool is way smaller than the pictures, and when you first arrive they ask you to swipe your credit card again. The Towel checkout process for the pool is so they can charge you if you don't return it to the desk and you have to sign a peace of paper. It feels like flying with Spirit Airlines. Threats of upcharges, not enough meal tickets for breakfast, small pool. The beds are super soft which wasn't ideal, and the hotel feels much older than advertised. For the price, it's not great. Like I said, 3.5 stars max.

We were looking for a one night ,clean and comfortable stopover and by all accounts the Shutters looked like a great option. Location was good and parking great. Room clean and bed’s comfortable. Issues were restaurant closed( on a Saturday night ?) . Air conditioning was like a train running through the room and the late night revellers were shouting and yelling in the passage way at one o’clock in the morning. Result was virtually no sleep.

Everything was okay, nothing special, nothing awful. Pretty clean, pretty friendly staff, quite good coffee surprisingly, but it’s dated and it shows, maintenance isn’t subpar, staff doesn’t appear super on top of things and nothing is great, just okay.

Overall I think I will stay another place in the future.Parking was fine

The hotel location is convenient to the interstate, check-in was quick and easy, the room was clean and comfortable. After a long day driving, the convenience of the hotel restaurant was very welcomed and the meal very good.

Best shower! Great water pressure! The beds are comfy and the hot tub is clean and relaxing in a nice space. The facility could use a bit of refreshing, but otherwise this was a perfect place to stay. Breakfast was great and their little restaurant area serves really good food.

Staff and outside landscape ideal. Restaurant and lobby, awesome. No housekeeping for the 4 days we were there. No fresh towels. No beds made. Trash can overflowing. Note on front desk states “due to pandemic” no daily housekeeping. This is May 2026. We had to ask for towels. Severely miss matched. Broken window blinds could not be opened. Very damaged desk chair from someone’s dog. Large hole in shower mat. Large cushion missing from accent chair. Unable to seat people in chair. No pen or paper to write with. Wallpaper torn and buckled in bathroom.

This is my favorite place to stay in Elko. The staff is always friendly, and the rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The only downside was the breakfast. It was very basic — just eggs, bacon, toast, and a make-your-own waffle station. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs, even though there was a “chef” serving behind the counter. It definitely wasn’t a made-to-order breakfast or anything special, despite appearances.

Although our stay was overnight, the employees are always nice 24/7. They are always welcoming and make their hotel more like a home. I will always LOVE their free breakfast and we finally got to try the restaurant the night we checked in and the food was amazing!!! Thank you, Shutters Hotel for a wonderful 18 hours.

Second time here. Beds are soft and very comfortable. Very nice staff. Better than usual breakfast. Fresh cooked bacon and eggs. Place is a great deal. This is our go to place when traveling.

Spacious room, clean but older. Tub/shower could use makeover. Bedding linens need replaced as holes and long strung along the top were most annoying. Bath towels really small. Breakfast was fine.

It was a decent place to stay. It's not a 5 Star property, but it had a lovely welcoming entry, good food, comfortable bed ... everything you need for a night's stop on a road trip. We didn't use the pool, but it appeared that lots of others did. We would stay there again

The Breakfast was ok and was a pleasant setting. There is no place to eat a meal otherwise within walking distance. The Burger restaurant is only open on weekdays so no hot food or coffee during the week unless you bring your own hot food or keurig pods and bottled waterRoom was poorly maintained, shower head could have been replaced with a hose end as it didnt shower at all and drain plug in sink not attached. 3 paper cups for coffee machine with tap water for keurig and only 4 keurig pods of which there was one decaf, and one tea. Room had been reserved for 3 nights and there was no maintenance to replace the unwrapped paper cups nor the coffee. We had no kleenex beyond three or four pieces and had to ask the room cleaners in the hall for a new box. This was labeled as a suite but did not have the advertised sofa just 2 chairs. The good is that the morning breakfast was pretty much ok and the staff was really nice and friendly on the good side and the room was clean. Overpriced or under maintained is the question? All in all was a little better than a motel 8 but not a hotel. Rating 4 of 10 possible.

Everything about our day was lovely. The check-in was easy and the attendant was very sweet. Our room was nice and clean. A nice breakfast was served in the morning with hot coffee and scrambled eggs and bacon and waffles with cereal and other amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay. It will be our go-to place when we stop in Elko.

The hotel was clean and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel though had an hour wait at 7:30 PM even for a salad.. it appeared. It was a large order for takeouts… which was unfortunate for us staying there. Went to the old part of Elko to the coffee mug, restaurant which had a much better selection of burger,s and salads, and many other items with no weight.

It was a great place for an easy stay.

Although our suite was clean, it lacked some basic amenities particularly in the kitchen. The jacuzzi in the bathroom was in poor condition.

Very friendly staff, clean room, good food. Furniture a bit uncomfortable and the heater unit in room was exceptionally loud. All in all a good stay.

Christine (Kristin) went above and beyond to solve any matter or answer any question. The gals at the hamburger restaurant also went above to make a great sandwich. Everything was great! The pool was fun as well!

The rooms were clean and the common areas were nice. The breakfast was closed down 15 minutes early and we had a staff member unlock our door and try to come in just before 11:00 am and a second staff knock on the door even though check out time was noon. Felt rushed to be out early.

Breakfast started at 6:00 am and fresh, good quality eggs, bacon, fruit, waffles, bread, OJ and freh coffee.

Bed was very comfortable, hot tub was perfect temperature, the chairs were too big to sit all the way back in, and the breakfast didn’t have much of a choice to eat

No shower (jetted tub), kichenette but no microwave, view of the roof/side of building, staff checking in were great, checking out….not so much. Overall, worth the money.

At this point I had driven almos 5 hours and it is around 12:40 AM... So I decided to just go to sleep on the opposite side... This hotel used to be my favorite, I do go often to Elko for work, alwasy very clean, and very friendly people, no matther what time of day or night I check in, that part hasn't changed, but I feel that the rooms are not being cared for the way they used too just afew short months ago... The matresses definitely need to be replaced. Nor sure how many more rooms are in the same condition. Perhaps housekeeping are not being heard when reporting this type of issues. Somehow, the general manager lor someone, ost his passion for offering the best night rest and service. I do hope that these matresses ar4e replaced, and that the entire hotel is inspected at least for this type of issue. Thank you so much ofr your time and attention and most importantly for taking care of this issues.

Staff was amazing hotel was nice and clean

Things seem to have gone downhill as far as cleanliness, staff, food (no gluten free bread anymore and thst was a big deal to us). Charges on our card when we already paid Door to the outside broken for two years…

It definitely looks nice and the staff was good. Some of the smaller details were less great. the TV was a little older and didn't work all that well from the remote. Not a big deal. The bathtub had paint or some other surface peeling off it that looked like what paint looks like when it peels off a surface. The breakfast was free and they had eggs and bacon but they cook didn't stir the eggs constantly so they were essentially cool/cold upon serving you. The tray was nice and warm but not the food resting on the top. All in all, it was little things that could be easily improved.

This is my third or fourth time staying at this hotel over the past few years, and every time it's been a great experience. Rooms are clean, bed is comfortable, staff is great, breakfast is great. It's conveniently located, but it's not in the middle of town so it's nice and quiet. Some rooms have a pretty nice view of the town & valley.

I did not like much. The room was clean. The bed had a crater in the middle. We requested room service daily upon check-in. On the third day we slept in and did not get out of the room until about noon. The housekeeping staff were working down the hallway, I approached them and apologized that we were not out sooner. The response I received was vague and dismissive. When we returned a few hours later I informed the Manager (?) that our room had not been serviced. She stated the housekeeping staff were gone for the day and offered towels. The keys system was horrible. We had to return to the desk 3 times to have new keycards made. On the final trip the desk clerk made a new keycard and accompanied us to the pool area. Her key did not open the door either, She eventually knocked on the door and had other guests get out of the hot tub and open the door for us. Several other guests stated they experienced the same issue on multiple days. An older lady, who I assumed was the manager, was grumpy and nasty. The breakfast SUCKED! Scored scambled eggs that were cold. The bacon good. We were told the waffle machine was out of order. The 4 slice toaster was missing a moulding from the top, exposing a rusty nasty crumb filled crevice. We will NEVER return to Shudders. I travel often and have NEVER been as displeased with a hotel. I usually utilze Hilton Honors. We choose Shudders because it was the only hotel that had a hot tub on the search webpage.

Hot food options - Omelettes used to be an option only eggs and bacon. Pool area did not have towels. Employees were all super friendly. Key card failed to open room twice.

The room was clean and the staff was more than helpful. I really enjoyed the breakfast but the only thing I did not like is that I had to give a ticket to get a breakfast. I get it and I understand that people like to take advantage of the system. The thing I loved about the breakfast is how it was set up and that you did not have to wait for waffles or pancakes. They were actual Cooks in the back who are tending to your needs. Overall I would say it is one of the best hotels that me and my family have ever stayed in

Shower in my room was weak,

The staff stood out the most. There was not one single employee that did not look unhappy to be there. They we're very happy and ready to help if needed, even the night staff! I love it when the environment feels welcoming like I'm part of their family at the hotel. We were treated very nicely and respectful. We definitely will be returning!

The workout room is clean and has the equipment you need. We stay here everytime we are in Elko. We live there in the suites for a month every year.

From the moment I walked in, you could tell that the front desk lady either had a stick up her ass hated her job and/or both she said the bar in the Energy for the entire day, which was horrible. I’d rather spend time in a prison sale than one more night there.

Breakfast was what youd expect for continental breakfast. We were given food vouchers for breakfast but no one was there to take them. They had a cook serving rawlike bacon and eggs. Just kinda pointless in my opinion. Our room was great until we opend the nightstand drawer and found someone's half eaten sandwich in it. The pool was good, no towels in the pool area. Overall it was just meh. We may stay again just because the price was right for 2 rooms.

Beds comfy with good pillows !! Bathrooms a bit dated and needs some work on cleanliness . Bathrooms need a good scrub down and plates in the breakfast area were dirty But would still stay there again!

Very clean hotel with great service and real cooked breakfast

Much improved from a stay here 10 years ago. New owners/management have made extensive improvements. Not a 5-star hotel, but certainly pleasant, quiet and clean. Only suggestions would be to update the exterior. Breakfast was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Glad we gave this location another try.

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was minimal but was ok. My only complaint was that the guy that was working the breakfast counter was pretty pushy and was watching really loud reels on his phone the whole time. Just kind of unprofessional. Front desk staff was great though.

The shower hadn't been cleaned and didn't work well. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay, and my son had a great time playing in the pool.

The staff was great. The room on the other hand was a joke. Mattress was lumpy shower didn’t work and room wasn’t clean as it should be.

We got a call from Michelle and she was very friendly. They offered us a free upgrade to a grand suite, which was very nice. The Burger House onsite had very good food. The breakfast was also very good. Hotel and rooms were very clean with a good exercise room also. This is the second time we have stayed here overnight. We were also able to check in a little early which we really appreciated.

Shutters was disappointing in that they advertise having a great restaurant. However, we had to go elsewhere for dinner because the restaurant was closed. The room was spacious with nice amenities but the mattress was extremely lumpy and soft. The hotel could stand to have some attention to details. For example, the two coffee urns at breakfast didn’t indicate if they were decaf or not.

I booked this hotel for my parents and they loved it. It was very affordable yet beautiful and clean. They stayed in about 17 hotels during this trip, all about the same price range, and this was their favorite.

They were competent and the building looked nice but we discovered a leak in the ceiling of a closet in our room. It was raining and water was dripping down the wall. The clerk at the front desk found us another room and it was fine after that.

Good all around experience. Better than most roadside hotels/motels.

Upon arrival, there was a note that said the person at the desk would be back in 5-10 minutes. Once I got to my room, I checked bathroom and there was urine (I assume it was yellow) on the toilet sheet. I called the front desk to request a CLEAN room. The front desk person was very nice and gave me another room. I was very Leary but it looked clean. I usually stay in Marriot Hotels. I should have this time too.

Needs some updating (wallpaper peeling etc) and floors need a better vacuum.

The hotel was very nice and clean. We loved the aesthetics of the front desk/down stairs area. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were super comfortable. I got a great night's sleep. Will definitely stay here again. Loved it.

Since you have a "restaurant" you should offer different styles of eggs and some cut fresh fruit. The bacon, by the way, was excellent.

Pool and spa were excellent. On site restaurant was very good. Breakfast was of good quality Unexpected 6% “utikity fee” automatically added. Just a scam to get additional money.

Excellent location, quiet and comfortable. Room size and furnishings are ideal, complete with an excellent mini-fridge and keurig coffee maker. Mattresses and bedding are clean and comfortable. Bathroom amenities are very nice. Excellent common areas. On-site cafe is a treat—and the cafe staff is exceptional. The only thing that was not great was the check-out. A fellow was at the desk before 8 a.m. trying to check in well before check in time. The woman manning the desk was paying so much attention to him that several guests had to wait in line to check out. It would be helpful if a key drop box were provided so that guests could simply drop and go.

We loved this hotel and wasn’t expecting to find one so nice in the tiny town of Elko. Very clean and spacious and an overall nice looking property.

building is a little old pictures did not do it. Justice rooms are decent. Beds are pretty comfortable. Restaurant was not open due to no chef for the first day night. Breakfast was OK.

Hotel is super cute and the staff are very friendly. Free breakfast was really yummy!!! Sadly there were a ton of kids running up and down the halls and slamming doors at all hours of the night but that is not the hotels fault.

Clean and comfortable. Fast and friendly check-in. My only gripe was the noisy air conditioning unit woke me up every time it kicked on during the night. That being said, I’d stay here again.

Really liked this hotel it surprised me of how nice it act is. Looks better in person than in photos. The jet tub was amazing in our bathroom.

The breakfast buffet was uninspiring as usually is the case in these hotel deals. Powdered eggs, etc. No daily maid service. Had to fill out a door hanger card to get fresh linens and TP and then it was just left in the hall outside the door. Despite all this I would book here again.

This place was average. It was clean and the staff were nice but there continental breakfast was well before average. They probably would benefit from not posting it as an offering

Booked here after a horrible experience with elkotel and it was a breath of fresh air of cleanliness. Although they do charge a 6% “utility” fee upon check out that I was told is their “resort” fee. Which for an average holiday inn type stay is pretty insane.

This is a beautiful hotel. We had a king suite with a kitchen and sitting room in addition to the bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was nice. The hot tub was relaxing. We had a great one-night stay and will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful hotel and it’s been renovated recently. Upon check-in, it is three stories high and I asked if we could be on the third floor she says no I have you in 237. I asked if we could have a view of the hills she goes. Oh yeah, you can see. Upon getting to our room the keys did not work so I had to go all the way down the hall and back down and get the keys done. She did not apologize. When we open the door always stared at was a shingled roof. They have a dome I guess for the pool and that’s exactly what we look at. We were retired as we already had to go down there once we just stay in the room. The room is lovely. The hall is lovely. It’s just all done nicely. I would say the two blue chairs in the room. They must’ve got on sale. It is hysterical. I am 5 foot five. My feet will not sit on the floor if I sit back, I feel like I’m gonna big Humpty Dumpty chair. Very comfortable bed.

My sister was there only one night. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been nicer! Nicole, at the front desk, was very personable and efficient making check-in a great experience. Kirby, the manager, goes above and beyond to make sure his guests are taken care of. He served as our waiter in the restaurant. There were nine of us! He didn't miss a beat! Kirby, also, made sure that he was back in the early morning to drive my sister to the airport. She had such a great experience that they will be staying there when she comes in late October with her husband.

It was nice, clean, and a comfortable bed.

We came in very late (2 am) pulling a car trailer and the man at the desk was very nice and accommodating. We requested a late checkout which he wrote down. However, we were awakened by a clearing lady an hour before our planned checkout.

Room did not have a tv that showed the basic tv channels, abc, nbc and cbs. Couldn’t watch the Notre dame vs miami football game. Staff couldn’t solve the problem. Not staying here again.

Burger dinner was excellent. Pleasant surprise to have an onsite dinner option.

Wasn’t very clean in the room when we got there. Hair in bath tub, toilet paper rolls and tissue not filled. Coffee maker dirty, trash on floor and under bed. My child found old candy under the bed. Beds were comfortable and clean.

Shutters is the most cleanest, convenient, and comfortable with all your needs met in the room like refrigerator, microwave, tv, and shower. We appreciate the free breakfast, but this time the eggs and bacon had a weird after taste, but the coffee was good. The lobby is always clean and offers cold water and coffee. We also love the decor and photography.

Staff was great with late check-in and breakfast room was clean. The air conditioning in the bedroom was not functioning properly and loud. The pull out bed in couch was not comfortable.

Front desk was very friendly and overall helpful with our problems… First room did not feel clean, shower had mold and was noisy (in the walls), just not comfortable. Second room seemed better but bedding was covered in hair. Bathroom seemed cleaner overall but rooms are not as nice as lobby. Tub & sink, mirror not as clean as I would prefer, my husband says “lipstick on a pig.” Blow dryer provided “popped” and burned up within first minute of use. Did not have hot water, luke warm at best. Pros: beds were comfortable, breakfast was good (real eggs) and easy free parking.

The 2nd key did not work and had to get new one. 2 kids in pool with no parents for a long time. Very loud, so hot tub enjoyment was cut short. Nice stay overall

We have stayed at this hotel at least 3 times. It's priced fair, decent hotel with nice customer service. Just don't stay on the bottom level by the pool if you don't want noise.

Friendly staff! Nice big front area with lots of seating for the food/lounge area. Great food at the restaurant. Nicely appointed big rooms.

But, overall it’s pretty nice, well built, modern, clean and doesn't smell like an ashtray. Would highly recommend.

Staff was excellent. Arrived late and they called to check and make sure we were still coming. When we arrived they were polite, helpful and fast.

very nice and safe

The hotel was very nice. The staff was friendly. The only drawback was at breakfast. Half way through my meal I found a long black hair in my food. Totally lost my appetite. I understand things can happen but really took away from the experience.

Been staying there once each summer since first week it opened. Always clean n tidy. Staff pleasant. Three issues: evolving theme and inconsistent dinner time hours in the restaurant; sofa bed mattress is unbearable; USB connection are antiquated. Otherwise, one of the better stays in Elko.

Great place to stay. The one thing I hated about the room was the useless arm chair. If you sat all the way back your legs would stick straight out, the backrest is too far from the front.

The property is cute! The front desk was awesome. Our AC unit was not working properly and was fixed within an hour. My only complaint is the lady running the restaurant inside the hotel. We were hoping to eat there and it was busy so we asked about how to get a table and she bluntly said "I'm not seating anybody for at least 20 minutes". I understand you're busy but there's no need to be short/rude in your reply. I would have gladly waited the 20 minutes if it weren't for her, instead we ran out and picked up dinner.

The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. The TV is a smart TV, which is nice. The only small drawback is that the breakfast is very poor. The bacon and eggs are cold and the variety is very poor. Everything else is fine except breakfast.

A nice older property with comfortable rooms equipped with Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge , and microwave. The staff are always friendly and the restaurant attached is a good choice for a burger.

We stayed one night. The bed was ok, a bit squishy but not bad. The bathroom was outdated and the towels were old annd thin. The breakfast was poor, very few choices to eat. The staff was very nice and the room was clean.

Needs updating low toliet ..little musty smell..bed saggy.. no more pad & pen..I did forget mine ..but when you need it! I went looking and and finally found one ...water faucet in bath needs new screen???water came out slow..l'm not picky but stayed in a few alot better .We are in one now in different location a day latter for 2 nights same ballpark price point and it is 100% different.Infact we like it alot.You will always get them for one night because those pictures look nice.

There were 2 people at the desk when we checked in and they were incredibly impersonal, distracted and cold. The room was nice but oddly, the chairs are the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in. We ended up having to layer them with pillows to enjoy the view out the window. The television was very outdated and so if you look forward to enjoying your favorite program on Prime or any streaming venue, find another place or bring your computer. They only have a limited list of TV channels available.

This property overall was great. Lacked important details. Practically useless luggage cart. Luggage drags on the ground and falls off. No room darkening drapes-very bright in the morning around the shade. Not enough toilet paper and very hard to reach from the toilet. Breakfast mediocre-no plant based options. No oatmeal, plant based milks. Coffee very weak and bad. Water in the public bathroom sprays your shirt when using it. Water fountain downstairs missing the front and rusted. Very nice people and it could be beautiful!
