The lobby was very nice. The breakfast was fantastic. They served sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, toast, waffles, and many other breakfast items. The stairs and hallway were a little bit dingy.

The breakfast was excellent and loved the outdoor pool. The late check out time was accommodating for me given my plans. I had an issue with the tv and a bathroom tub faucet leak. The front desk staff was quick about fixing the problem by moving me to a new room.

The room smelled like a dog upon entering the room.

The rooms were very clean and the desk clerk who helped us at check in was quite possibly the nicest and most helpful person I've ever met. Her name is Debbie I believe and she really needs to be recognized and rewarded. From check in to check out I couldn't have had a better experience. Thank you

Great customer service experience and well kept public areas. The bathroom has rust in the tub and the doors were flimsy. It was still a place I would stay again but it’s a little pricy for the room value.

For a cheaper basic hotel, it has several nice amenities. Our favorite was the indoor pool, which was very warm. It was also nice to have the option of the outdoor pool although the water was still pretty chilly when we visited in early June. The breakfast offered many options and was on the better end of a typical hotel breakfast. Although there were lots of guests when we stayed, we heard very minimal noise. The hotel is somewhat dated and in need of some maintenance, especially in the hallways and stairs, but we experienced no issues during our stay. There are also plenty of restaurants and stores nearby which made it very convenient. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to people staying in the South Asheville area.

Close to the interstate. The room was gross. There was hair all over the bathroom, the sheets had stains on them, the beside table was covered with a sticky substance. Everything was dated but the reviews online and on Booking made it sound very different and more clean.

Location to the airport Broken handle that secured the window, wallpaper peeling of in the bathroom, dirty around the toilet and edges of the bathroom floor. Our stay was very short, but walking what seemed like a mile to our second floor room with no elevator was a bummer after midnight. Were there really no other rooms available? Bed was comfortable. Hair in bathroom floor.

I just can’t say enough about how kind and accommodating the staff was to us for our stay. I reserved a room because my 10yr old daughter had EOG testing at WCU just up the road. Long story, but I had to bring her from TN to Asheville for the testing over two day. The staff was beyond understanding and helpful with our situation getting to the hotel early and letting us check-in so my daughter could rest and relax before her first test on Tuesday. Then they doubled down and allowed us to check out late so we weren’t just driving around in the truck for a couple hours waiting for her last test to start on Wednesday. I can’t begin to say how grateful we are for their kindness and understanding.

I stayed at Clarion for all my business Needs. It’s close to the airport and the rooms are clean. The beds are soft and I always get a good night. Sleep there. I love the indoor pool as well. Outdoor pool when it’s season and the staff is so kind is so kind.

Upon arrivcal went to use bathroom in my room and there was a puddle of water on the floor. Went back down and told them about it - I was told they are fully boked and cannot move me.When I went back up the Maint. person was ther and confirmedit was coming from the seal of the toilet. I was told that he does not have any caulking to fix it and their solution was a towel on the floor and asking me If i am going to use the bathroom.. WOW!

I was unable to work due to the marginal wifi, which I was told had nothing to do with the cable TV being offline, and had to seek out a local Starbucks to finish my work. Also, when the person above me showered, the stream turned into a trickle.

Our room was spacious and clean. The following morning we had a hearty and delicious breakfast with home cooked favorites such as scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and many more. All in all a very nice stay.

Breakfast whispers of the favor, but it was a heartbreak. It was good. Good coffee. The room was clean, I moved town, the pool was a comfortable temperature. The staff was friendly. The reason that I didn’t give it 5 stars was that we were not able to successfully get Internet in the room even after calling the service number and working for some time with the Support staff of the company that provides Internet. I was given a case number, but I didn’t bother to try again. Also, there’s no place in the bathroom to hang a towel. At one time there was a hook on the back of the bathroom door, but it wasn’t there. Yeah they’re a good thing about the room as it was very easy to adjust the temperature to lose his own comfort. That is rare in the hotel room. For that reason,we were very comfortable.

Love that the Blue Agave is in the same building and Longhorn Steakhouse is in the parking lot. Convenience is important!

A standard room. Biggest problem was the SINGLE elevator which is at the far end of the property. If your room is near the check in desk you will need to walk to the other end of the property to get to an elevator and then walk down three long halls to get to a room which is one stairwell away. If you are not able to climb those stairs easily, you will be walking a lot.

It was a little hard to find in the dark. But the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was great. It checked all the boxes.

Good for the price but it did seem a little dirty for our liking. And we saw a baby roach on the dresser. But the heater/air conditioner was efficient and warmed the room up fast. The breakfast was great with more options than I expected, including bacon. The employees were all so great. But the coffee machine in the restroom didn’t sit well with me given what I mentioned about the cleanliness/roach. I didn’t hate it and if funds were tight I might book again but unlikely.

I love that it is 5 minutes away from the airport AVL. The free breakfast was good and there is a Mexican restaurant that is right next door that was very good. Also the Cracker Barrel is right around the corner. If you are in town to visit the Biltmore, it is about 18 mins away. I am planning to stay there again in the future.

The room was set at 62 degrees when we checked in. The front desk was courteous. The breakfast was less than stellar, with attendants grooming another attendants hair right next to the food. They had little or no bread products and the potatoes were cold and extremely overcooked.

Cleanliness was good. Staff was nice. No hot water the entire night and following morning. When I inquired about it with the front desk at check-out, she simply said, “Yep… the boiler was broken and was just fixed. You missed it by 10 minutes”… as if this type of thing happens all the time. No apology. No concern. Very strange reaction to having no hot water for over 12 hours.

This hotel is in a very convenient location if you have anything going on in south Asheville/Arden. Don't be bothered by the fact that it's an older building. The grounds and interior were immaculately clean and well maintained. The staff was all super nice and helpful. The on-site Mexican restaurant was excellent and reasonable as well.

I am 5'11" and when I sit on the edge my feet DO NOT TOUCH the floor. Beds are comfie but... We did a quick stay due to early flight out from AVL. The shuttle was ready to roll when we came down @ 5:30am! not handicap ready but.. that one I can understand more. but worth noting.

Staff wasn’t super friendly. The room wasn’t clean, particularly the bathroom. The bathtub had hair in it, the sink was barely hanging on the wall. The tub handle was also barely hanging on. I was really surprised this hotel had good ratings.

The front desk staff a young lady was very courteous, the rooms are okay nothing too fancy for what you pay for, the cleanliness was not to detail could do a bit better in the bathroom. Oh and the walls are very thin I could literally hear people in the next room on their phones or watching tv as if they were in my room, and lastly the breakfast was good.

There was a party in the conference room and the music was extremely loud and could be heard in our room. We had to turn the TV up a bit. We were here for a medical emergency and just want to be able to rest in our room before we had to go back to the hospital. The music ended somewhere around 9p/10p or so, thankfully.

Everything with the place and the room were great, it was nice being able to find a place in Asheville to stay so we could patronize the businesses and artists still recovering from Hurricane Helene.

Great convenience to airport. Inexpensive. Super shuttle service and early and late service always easy to schedule! Drivers are great.

The only thing we would say needs attention is the mattress on the pullout. It has lots of old stains on it, but otherwise everything was very nice! Overall- it was a good experience!

Housekeeping ignored my room and only made up my bed 1 day out of 5. Front desk staff were unavailable when I checked out early and never even answered the bell. Housekeeper actually removed dirty towels one day without replacing them and left bed unmade.

The first room my son was in was next to a very disturbing and loud party next door. Thankfully when he asked to be moved, he was given a new room. Much appreciated.

This is my go to place when I’m in and out of Asheville airport. Yes, it is not the high-end hotels, but the management and staff do everything King to make this a convenient, satisfying, and pleasurable stay. The general manager is a lovely person. It’s a very busy hotel and often difficult to get a late check out which is sometimes difficult for me because I have late flight hours the next day, but I still consider this my go to place when I am in and out of Asheville.

This place is in a great location and more affordable than a lot of Asheville. The room was very clean and the staff were great. Just know that it is very dated, and the walls are paper thin.

Absolutely the worst hotel as far as cleanliness. The rooms were disgusting and the bathroom floors were so nasty . It looked as if the bathroom floors hadn't been cleaned in months and the corners were full of pubic hair and other substances.

Our only complaint was the unwillingness to serve more yogurt upon request after other guests had exhausted the yogurt in the refrigerator. Fortunately the eggs were surprisingly good and not like other fake hotel buffet eggs. Staff also accommodated our request for extra towels.

We stayed at this property because of an early morning flight out of AVL the next day and it offers offsite long term parking for a fee and a shuttle to/from the airport.

There is no where that says if I live less then 60 miles from the hotel I cannot stay there. I was meeting a friend so they wouldnt have to travel all the way to my town and we got there and were turned away! I was told "we have been trying to update that on our site" but if it isnt on there I should have been able to stay there.

The room looked worn, tired and not updated. The towels had holes in them. The body soap, shampoo and hair conditioner weren’t very user friendly. We had to figure out to dispense the soap, shampoo and conditioner. There was no “wow” factor. It felt like a Motel 6. It was disappointing.

Room was good, clean and well maintained. However, AC wasn’t coolong down to the desired temparature. Also, air was not reaching until the bed. Some of the food items at breakfast ran out between 8:30 and 9 on both days I stayed.

Expedia itinerary 72067360566191 We are requesting a refund. Quality, cleanliness and service was unacceptable. Shower drain was clogged and the shower walls had a brown stains, and the tile in the entrance of the room was sticky. When I told them about the cleanliness, the staff gave me a cleaner rather than offering to have it cleaned. The staff apologized and said they had been having several complaints from the new cleaners. When we asked for another room, they told us they did not have another room and that the cleaning staff was gone for the night, so after he called the hotel manager and explained the situation, they offered us a refund for our room, but we had to electronically reach out to Expedia and that when they received the call, they would approve of the refund. We are still waiting for Expedia to contact Clarion Inn to confirm the cancellation for our refund.

The breakfast was good. However, the room was not cleaned properly and several lights were not working. It is fine for a quick stay, provided the room maintenance issues are addressed.

The front desk staff was friendly and our room was clean. That being said, the rest of our experience was not great. We could never connect to the internet in our room. We let the front desk attendant know on Friday night when we checked in, but we still weren’t able to connect by Sunday when we checked out. We were given the standard “we’re very sorry” and were told that other guests in our area of the hotel weren’t able to connect either. (We were in room 247.) If you’re not at breakfast by 9:30, you’re out of luck when it comes to the hot bar ( for lack of a better term). We were able to make a waffle, but felt like the staff was ready for us up go. Our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The area behind the toilet needs some serious repair. And placing the coffee pot in the bathroom? There are so many nice hotels in the Asheville area to choose this one again.

The staff and location were the two highlights of my stay. The property is very dated and my tub had mold around where the caulking is located. My last night there while taking a shower, the water pressure went down to nothing. Only a trickle was coming out of the shower head and I had soap all over me.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Dirty is putting it mildly. Wish there was a place to post pictures so you could see for yourself. Asked to change rooms and the second room was worse than the first one. this should be a last resort!!!

Very nice accommodations! Spacious room, two queen beds, desk and chair, and two sitting area chairs. Note left by mgmt said room has just been cleaned to hospital standards. So comfortable in all regards for our four night stay. Breakfast was free and delicious every morning....fluffy scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, sausage, crispy hash browns. They also had waffles and blueberry muffins. We had to request a microwave as advertised, but a very nice staffer brought us a brand new one right away. Onsite Mexican restaurant, Blue Agave, has an extensive authentic menu and was yummy! We also celebrated our anniversary dining at the Longhorn's located right in the parking lot within walking distance. Thank you Clarion-Arden, NC for making our stay such a positive memorable experience. You rock!

The pictures of the bathrooms online are misleading. The online pictures show bathroom sinks with counter space to put your toiletries on. Our room came with no such bathroom. It's old and crusty. The bathroom sink is very old and just stuck in to the wall. No counter space. The caulking around everything is cracked and gross. The wall has been repaired so many times. The shower wall is gross too. Very old and crusty. We were room 145.

Everything was very good. A minor problem was dealing with clients who did not have a vehicle. The staff had no idea about finding a taxi for clients.

Was a decent place to stay, no sidewalks nearby to go walking though. Housekeeping went into room with no disturb sign on door, took all our towels and didn’t replace them. No phone in room to call to desk.

Suggest getting rid of the carpets in the rooms, they are just too nasty. This hotel could be good but there needs to be a lot of renovations done.

I stayed at Clarion for park and fly. I had an early flight. I decided to spend the night at a hotel and why not one that allows you to leave your car for a fee. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. I caught the van to the airport at 5:45 am. The driver was great. He helped me with my bag and we had a wonderful conversation all the way to the airport. The return was the same. I never had to touch my suitcase. The driver put it right into my trunk and it was heavy. And we talked the whole Drive. I would definitely stay there again. The only thing that kept me from giving it straight five stars was construction around the property. I wouldn't have walked anywhere. But I was alone. I didn't make a comment about shopping. But there is a lot of shopping in the area. I just was there to spend the night and fly. I will use them again.

This is a very nice place. The breakfast was wonderful, the room and bathroom were perfect for me being confined to a wheelchair. Very convenient to all parts of Asheville and surrounding areas. My husband and I highly recommend.

The first room I stayed in did not have AC and the room was musty smelling. I switched rooms and the towels that we’re supposed to be cleaned were soaking wet folded in my room. I spoke with the front desk about how I have stayed here prior when I was in town and I never had this issue before. I asked for some type of accommodation for a refund for at least a night or two and I was denied. I alll not be back here for my trip that I visit yearly.

The Clarion Inn is conveniently located about 5 minutes from Asheville airport. Very close to many restaurants. The room was fine and good value. The breakfast buffet is well stocked with a good variety of foods. If you want an unpretentious place to stay for a good price, close to the airport, I recommend.

Everything you need as far as eating, eating store everything just within a half mile of the hotel. The front desk is outstanding the people that work here as far as the clerks to the cleaning staff, it’s nothing but outstanding They have a Mexican restaurant with the hotel. The food is outstanding.. if you’d rather have a steak just to hop in a skip down the parking lot is a longhorn steer steakhouse. Shopping Ctr target Marshalls etc. fast foods This is the only hotel I stay at and I have my service dog. They do check for credentials for the Dog. They do not charge for service dogs. Transportation to the airport is excellent I can’t say enough with this hotel it’s just fantastic. Breakfast is nice and hot and fresh..

We were there for just one night before flying the next day. The receptionist was so very helpfuk about parking, using the shuttle to the airport, leaving our car. It was just so easy. She made it so easy. And the room was so clean! And the bed comfortable. I would definitely do it again.

It started with the check-in. I had to carry my luggage up a flight of stairs and into what appeared to be an area under construction. I didn't feel safe either. In the morning, I got up, took a shower, and then used the restroom. It was at that point that I realized the hotel had turned off the water (approximately 10 am). When I went to the front desk, they were somewhat nonchalant and stated, "They must have turned off the water early." I questioned if this happened every day, and they said it did not. They gave me a bottle of water, for which I was grateful. Breakfast was limited, and since the water in the building was turned off, the juice machine did not function.

The property was a great value! The breakfast was hot and delicious. There was a wonderful variety as well. The room was quiet and clean. We would gladly stay again.

Very clean as far as I could see and staff was amazing.

This was perfectly fine for a quick stay. It’s an older hotel but they’re keeping it clean, and beds were comfy. Nice pool area, solid breakfast, staff was friendly, but the age of it does show in some places. I would stay again for a quick night or two, especially considering the low cost.

Ended up staying due to cancellation of flight till next day. Shuttle service to and from a plus. Hotel was okay. Appeared clean for most part. Older looking, outdated. Breakfast buffet was okay. Lobby desk staff very friendly and nice.

Staff was the best! Everyone was friendly and engaged in conversation. Room was perfect with a comfy bed, very clean and tons of space. Pools were a great way to cool down. Restaurant on premises made dinner convenient.

Breakfast was excellent. And accomodations too. Having Blue Agave restaurant on site was a plus. I was not feeling all that well upon arrival and their rice chicken soup

Hotel is in need of a major facelift. Lots of things noted in disrepair. The AC unit in my room was not working - not ok and especially during a heat wave. Pool was nice.

Exceptional

-All staff was very friendly at all times. -For a free breakfast, it was excellent with both stellar hot and cold options. -The gym was serviceable and all equipment was in good condition. Towels were plentiful and the gym bathroom was appreciated. -Beautiful lobby -The indoor pool was comfortably warm. -Room was spacious. -USB charging ports were available. Needs Improvement: -Dark lighting in room. -Too many people smoking at all exits AND in the outdoor pool are. Ban smoking from the outdoor pool area. Ashes were everywhere, including in the outdoor pool. -Heal the outdoor pool. Freezing cold. -Paint the stairwells!

Overall clean. Friendly check in. Spacious breakfast area. Typical food, but the bagels were fresh er than most with nice selection. New carpet in our room. Sink drain a bit slow. Bed was unusual with medium firmness and pillow top. Edge of bed higher than middle.

Nice hotel

Close to restaurants, shopping and airport.

Our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was good with a variation of items to choose from. My family and I loved the pools.

Its our 2nd stay. The breakfast somewhat good compared to other places, but same stuff every morning and no hot coffee! Also they do not refill when it's out. Next room is not quite, and also construction trucks are passing by early morning. Beds are pretty comfortable. Only bad thing that we were not happy was that the elevator was not working and had to used stairs with our luggage.

Breakfast was great, bacon, eggs, toast, grits, waffles, etc. The staff was very courteous and friendly when checking in and the front desk staff was awesome during check out.

Not clean!

Needs an major update. The plumbing in shower and sink drained very slowly. The caulking was yellowing and looks like somone put it down was an after thought. Furniture and lamps were of the 1990 vintage.

The personnel I dealt with were very courteous. I love the look and feel of the hotel. The pool and courtyard area are so quaint and offer a very nice atmosphere. The free breakfast is also a great extra! It’s very good with many options. I even love the flavored water offered at all times in the lobby. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It’s already been my choice twice in the last month when staying in Asheville.

Marlon and all of the staff were amazing! The furnishing are a little worn, but the place is CLEAN. Breakfast was better than Hampton Inn. Great value. We will stay here again!

The curtain in our room was nasty! It looked like it had feces on it and there was mold on the ceiling, the one of the lamps had a bulb out and the remaining was blinking. The other lamp had a shaded tattered and torn. The AC filter could have been better. I broke out in a rash and had allergy induced asthma when I woke up. The AC didn’t work well and it was humid in the room.

Staff is always great. It’s clean and well located. Only wish there were better entry points but that is not the Hotel’s fault. I used to live there years ago.. the city changed the traffic pattern.

Average, uneventful experience. Pros: the room was very affordable, less than 5 minutes from the airport with great highway access (very convenient for a 5:30am flight), clean enough, offered free breakfast, abundant free parking, safe environment, lots of chain restaurants and stores like Target and grocery very close by. Cons: This isn't a luxury hotel, so if that's what you are looking for, book elsewhere. The room was clean with obvious signs of heavy use and wear and tear - average for a busy midscale hotel chain.

Staff was amazing!

Our room was spotless and well-supplied.

Very comfortable spacious room with good bed & pillows. Surprisingly quiet. Bathroom needed makeup mirror and tub/shower floor was very slippery with no grab bars in the shower. One grab bar was on outside wall. Complimentary breakfast was excellent - scrambled eggs, potatoes, onion pepper topping, gravy, bacon, sausage etc. The breakfast staff, Gloria and one other woman, cleaned dilligently throughout breakfast. I told her that I have never experienced such a clean breakfast area in any other hotel. Front desk staff were great. Indoor/outdoor pool. Large,Mexican restaurant, Blue Agave, attached to the restaurant. Will visit again.

Room was adequate and served its purpose. My stay was spoiled primarily from the total lack of WiFi. There should be a warning to travelers that there is no Wifi service currently, eventhough its still listed as an amenity. So i stayed for four nights unable to use my laptop. I would advise calling the property to see if the service is available before booking
