This is my 3rd time staying here. The staff is always fantastic from the front office staff to the cleaning lady who is happy to help. The on-site laundry area is great and it's proximity to all the great food and bars in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is great.

We loved everything about our stay. The room was squeaky clean and bright!! Old style charm. The manager, Valentina was exceptional!!!! Always helpful and positive!!!! Dina, the housekeeper was an angel and so dedicated to her job and clearly loves what she does! She is a remarkable person! The team of Valentina and Dina are the cornerstone of this property!!!!!!!!! They will help with whatever you need!!!! Also, the proximity to stores, restaurants and the beach made this an ideal place to stay for walking to Lauderdale by the Sea! Nothing!!

I like the location. Close to shops restaurants and a great tourist destination. The pool was heated. Didn't like the parking. And the bathroom had cracks in the wall. The A.C is situated at the back of the room it don't get as cold as you would like. The water didn't get hot just lukewarm because the knob don't go all the way to hot.

Location was great, rooms basic but clean, iron and hairdryer included, pool area nice and beds very comfy! Wouldn’t hesitate to book again when visiting. There is no lock for the door, we found it slightly strange that there wasn’t an extra lock for the door. There was a strange twist lock but it didn’t actually do anything. I think the idea is that when you twist it no one can use the key card to enter but we tried it and it didn’t work. Such a minor thing that we would change.

Room and bathroom were clean. Air conditioning worked good. Microwave unable to set time or time cook key pad did not work. Road noise was loud but we relize it's not the motels fauld.

Great location they had all that is needed for a weekend stay and beyond The Mgr Valentina couldn't be more helpfull. Beach chairs Umbrellas and towels are all for guest use. They wven offer late check out!! The best perk, BIKES available!!! Fun clean and safe all wrapped in a great location. I will be back forsure!!

The Horizon by the Sea was perfectly situated with a super short walk to the beach. The pool was nice with lounge chairs available. They also had beach chairs that you could borrow - but on a first come, first served basis. The bed was comfortable and the AC was cold! But by far the best thing about the place was Valentina, the woman who basically ran the place. My bathtub was stopped up and instead of waiting to get it fixed, she moved me to a much better room. The new room’s TV was missing one of the remotes so she ran out and found a new TV with remotes! She ran everywhere! One day, it was pouring and I needed to walk to dinner. She found an umbrella that was for a beach chair, unscrewed it and I had my umbrella! She’ll own the place soon! Nothing.

Kind Staff

We just needed a place to stay before our cruise. This had restaurants around and a couple stores. Ubers were difficult to get there. They need to have a shuttle service available to guests at an additional cost.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beach was within walking distance. Resort seemed very quiet. No dining facilities at site but some were in walking distance. Unable to get a room on ground floor because they were booked already.

The only issue we had was the bathroom window in the shower. It is fogged glass, but you can see through it from outside with the lights on.

The staff was awesome and the place was great!

Did not enjoy the experience. Doors did not have a deadbolt. Walls were paper thin you could hear neighbors and we were experiencing high winds outside and in sounded like they were in the room.

Amazing hotel, clean rooms, no noise

The room was pretty nice. The air conditioner made a hell of a racket. There were no tissues, and i have year round allergies. There was a container for ice, but there was a combination lock on the ice maker that i was not given the combo to. For the after hours checkin they left my key card under the mat, which i didnt think was very safe. But the worst part is expedia allowed me to book using Affirm, but when i checked in, they told me i needed a physical card. So they refunded Affirm and i had to pay using a separate credit card and I was not expecting to have to do this.

The new furniture was nice, bed was comfortable. There was a lot of traffic noise from A1A highway. There was a persistent, loud whine from the surge protector behind the tv. Told the desk agent and later texted them but to no avail. Bathroom needs updating. Not a bad room for the money if you just want to stay on the beach all day. Walking distance from a pharmacy and a convenience store.

The property itself looks a bit dated, but the staff were very accommodating, especially with our late-night arrival. The hotel was quiet and comfortable, which made for a relaxing stay. The location is great — right in a lively area with plenty of bars, restaurants, and a nearby pier that leads directly to the beach. There’s also convenient parking on-site. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean and well-maintained. Overall, a pleasant experience with friendly service and a great location close to all the action.

Quiet and walkable to several eateries

We enjoyed our stay veryuch. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds which is important to us. Not fancy but they have a nice outdoor area which we finished our night at. Only 2 blocks to downtown action and 1 block to the beach which is why we chose it.

For 10 plus years this was my go to place for staying in LBTS but after back to back weekends I will be looking elsewhere. The place is in decline as rooms I had were dirty. The showers were hard to regulate temperature. Seems like they are renting room to folks for long term stay. Same folks both weekends smoking pot and making noises late into the night. The office has limited hours which can be an inconvenience. I did like the location and value but now too many negatives for me to ever stay there again.

The only problem is parking. I had to pay for street parking one night which was a little frustrating. Otherwise, the front desk was very kind.

The sole staff person I met was friendly but overall the property was barebones for the price. Be prepared for the $15 resort fee which felt unnecessary as there wasn’t much of a resort. My bathtub drain looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years and the outlet beneath the desk wasn’t holding the plugs. Overall do not expect too much from a 2-star place and just enjoy the rest of LBTS.

Yes ,the property could use some out side updates , but there is plenty of places to sit outside and clean. The rooms are just like the pictures and the beds and pillows very comfortable. Nice kitchen with all you needed to have a meal. Most of all it was clean and no bugs. Mellisa was the best and very hard worker 5 Stars to her. The only down fall was ice maker not working, but Walgreens is only a block and half away.By the sea is a short walk 3 or 4 blocks away. I would defiantly go back .

This was great for a 2 night stay. Bars and restaurants were up the block. The beach is not far either. We enjoyed our stay.

If you arrive after 6 there’s no staff and office is closed only phone accessible. We asked for downstairs as no elevator and we’re seniors with mobility issues . We had large suitcases fortunately some other guests helped us. Bed was noisy and uncomfortable. I’ll pick a brand name next time. However it was fairly quiet

While the hotel was a little dated, it is in an ideal position in Lauderdale by the Sea and it has a pool. Free coffee is available for the room's coffee machine and the room also has a microwave. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good and there was plenty of space. We liked the fact there was no restaurant or catering but some people may not like this. There is a supermarket a minute walk away and it's only two minutes to the strip. All in all an enjoyable five days.

We loved staying here! We had two efficiency rooms. Valentina treated us so well! My a/c wasn't cooling properly, so I was immediately moved to cooler room. I then saw them changing the a/c in that room. The rooms were walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. They even had beach chairs and an umbrella for us to use. Did not even check in. There us very limited parking. Did not feel safe about parking our truck in the small spots that backed onto busy North Ocean blvd. Drove around looking for better parking but found none and police were giving out tickets. Went in to motel to ask about options but no one at desk, waited but no one came. We opted to go somwhere else. In all fairness i can not rate the motel as we did not stay there but want to make people aware of parking issue. It is also spring break so possibly very busy area due to that.

The location of this hotel is perfect! A 5 minute walk to restaurants, bars and shops and an 8 minute walk to the beach. An 18 minute drive to see Inter Miami and a 5 minute drive to the Lauderdale water taxi. The pool was great, heated and clean with umbrellas and lounge chairs. The air-conditioning was not working in our room, so they moved us to a new one. Rooms are spacious and bed was comfortable. We would stay here again. Great place for a family, quiet and clean.

Loved the service that we received. They helped make sure we would be taken care of despite a late night/early morning arrival. Really appreciated the beach toys, laid back, fun environment.

This is a splendid place: the rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is marvelous and wonderfully supportive. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the ocean, and there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance. It's a great place to stay, whether you're travelling for work or leisure.

Love Lauderdale by the Sea and all the amenities. Horizon is an older motel and very simple, but clean, with a great little pool, and a block from all sorts of puɓs and restaurants.

This is a basic hotel, somewhat dated, which we found to be clean with comfortable beds. The location had good proximity to the beach and the restaurants and shops at Lauderdale by the sea. We arrived early for check-in and were graciously offered a place to change to swimming attire, along with a beach chair, so we spent an hour at the beach while waiting for our room.

Nice motel with great proximity to the beach. Walls are thin and you can hear tv in neighbouring rooms. Also, if your neighbour smokes, your room is gonna smell. Beds are comfy and lots of closet space. Some peeling pain from the ceiling and the bathroom could use some updating. Would stay again.

I had a lovely time at Horizon by the sea. 5 minute walk to the beach. 10 minute walk to the restaurants, bars and shops. They have chairs and umbrellas you can borrow for the beach. It is such a quaint place, like old Florida. I loved the vibe of the motel. It is located right on a bus line. We did not rent a car, we used the bus and rode into Ft Lauderdale when we needed too. We also rode the bus to Pompano beach. Both places located within 30 minutes by bus. There is a nice size pool and deck and numerous tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the day. I could not have been happier with my choice to stay here. Everything was super clean and the staff was very accommodating. It was nice and quiet at night.

Convenient to the beach within walking distance, great food nearby, staff was very friendly. Gave 4 stars due the refrigerator smelled and needed to be defrosted and the ice maker was broken. Otherwise great property for stay.

Its a beautiful Inn with a great location. The rooms are in great condition, and one can tell they have put a lot of effort in maintaining the rooms. Room was spacious and very clean. Also located just a couple of blocks of restaurants and the beach.

ok. there for 2 nights. was a nice place back in its day. 3 great restaurants within walking distance. 1- piano bar with 2 funny piano men. 2- italian place. 3- burger joint, not a chain, all burgers made to order. also laundromat on premises.

Fabulous location. Very short walk to the beach ! Lots of restaurants within walking distance . Room was clean. Very basic rooms but the location totally makes up for it . The office is only open 10-6 , so if you need something after those hours it might be an issue .

if you need a clean bed, close to the beach, then this is fine. We stayed 10 days, had a unit w/kitchen. The bottom kit cab was hanging on 1 hinge; the ac was SO loud; hasn't been updated from the 1970's; the internet was more out than on and very weak; the tv was a joke. The staff was great, esp Dina and Helen.

Perfect place for our 5 night stay. Clean, well kept older motel with a nice pool to help beat the heat. Having kitchen facilities was ideal since we enjoy cooking for ourselves when traveling. The only downside was the street noise since the motel is sandwiched between busy Highway 1 and a side street. Nice economical place to stay in Lauderdale by the Sea.

This room was very clean with a kitchenette complete with stove, microwave and refrigerator. The king bed was quite comfortable. There was a nice pool for the kids.
