The room had an odor. Smelly carpet. We didn’t walk barefooted because we didn’t feel it was clean.

No breakfast in the morning. The front desk staff used the excuse TWICE that someone didn't show up. Had coffee in the room, but no sugar or creamer. No access to coffee during the day. I did like the set up of the room.

Great Bistro in hotel after a long drive. And in morning could order breakfast to go.

Clean room overall but very dated. Some random stains on the couch in the room. Shower could use updating. Bed was comfortable and the hotel was overall quiet. Probably wouldn’t stay again but it served the purpose of a quiet hotel with a comfortable bed.

Fast and easy check in. Rooms were spacious and tidy.

Hotel was perfect. Great location and very friendly staff. We checked in and asked for a view of the mountains and our view from the room was perfect. The property was so clean and the lobby area large and welcoming. The backyard area was charming with tables and lighting. Overall an A+ experience for a stayover going home. Also the hotel has endless dining opportunities, some within walking distance. Many national chains to chose from.

We were there for a night. It was convenient for JMU. We didn’t grab breakfast because we didn’t have time. Did go to 7 Brew not even 5 minutes away.

Poor outdoor lighting, there was a pothole in front of building drive. The mattress was very firm. We had to pay for breakfast, I didn't notice that in the booking process. Along with low water pressure. Limited TV stations.

Check in was smooth and quick, the room itself could have been cleaned more throughly. Location was great and nearby many restaurants and stores.

When I booked the room breakfast was advertised as being included in the room rate - but I guess I was mistaken! I am also not a fan of 'Event' rates that are nearly double the usual rates.

The hotel itself is in need of repairs. The floors were dirty throughout. The bathroom smelled of urine and had several things broken. We also didn’t get a towel exchange despite being told we would. Potholes in the parking lot, holes in the wall, caulking needed in the shower, etc. For $300/night we expected a lot more.

I was disappointed NO FOOD OFFERING!

When I first checked in, I was assigned a room directly next to the elevator. I immediately went back down to request a different room, and while the front desk agent did switch me, her attitude made the interaction less than welcoming. The new room was no better. It smelled strongly of mildew, felt dirty, and was very outdated. Honestly, it had more of a motel feel than what I would expect from a Marriott property. I couldn’t even relax because it gave me the uneasy feeling that I might bring bedbugs home. For context, I stayed at another Courtyard in Lynchburg the night before and had an amazing experience there. The difference between the two properties was night and day. I hope management takes the feedback seriously because this location does not meet the standards I’ve come to expect from Courtyard by Marriott.

The first room we were given, the TV did not work, the second room we were given was fine, we unpacked and went to dinner, came back to find out the room across the hall had 2 barking dogs. We were told we could move but they couldn’t make the others move. We had to pack up and move to the 3rd room. Asked to see a manager and asked again when we checked out, I thought we deserved a credit, no manager there. Was told the manager would call, and as of this time no call ☹️

This is a convenient spot for me, but the bar and restaurant were not open. This most definitely should be information given at time of booking. I specifically chose this location for the convenience of not having to leave after a 14 hour drive and another long haul the next day. Will not return.

Pool was closed for repairs. Bathroom fixtures were not up-to-date; hard to manage. Not enough handicapped parking spaces. Light over little couch didn't work. This place needs some care and attention.

Other than the staff being mildly responsive the hotel was horrible. Issues to include hanging wires which could strangle children, Roaches, Ads for adult establishments under the mattress, Missing fixtures in the bathroom and heavy scale on the shower head that was obviously months old, furniture that was no longer able to hold weight, inappropriate repairs including structural screws used to hold shower liner in place and open holes in the shower where fixtures used to be leading to a heavy mold smell in the room, the air conditioner filter had obviously not been cleaned in some time. All in all if I'm ever in this town again I'll be staying at a Hilton property instead.

Wonderful 2-night stay at this property. The lobby and lounge area was very spacious and welcoming. Room was very clean and comfortable.

It was quiet and I will be visiting again in two weeks.

The pool was closed, which was a reason we booked there. The hotel was mediocre at $400/night. I feel taken advantage of for this. Left a bitter taste in my mouth to pick Marriott brand, which I always do.

2. For Marriot disfunction of air conditional is not exceptable. 3.There was not much offered for Breakfast and it was not Fast, meaning no breakfast. Thank you very much for not warning me at your website. 3. Will consider not to use your service and tell my friends on media.

It may be a little older but still a very good Marriot, bed was perfect, everything clean, staff was helpful and professional.

This is an old and tired hotel, in need of a gut-renovation. The bathroom was a 1970s throwback. Not good. On the plus side, the bed and bedding were good. Over all, disappointing for a Marriott property.

Comfortable room. It worked out great as a place to rest after traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway on motorcyle. I would stay here again.

Our room was not cleaned at all for our two night stay. The ash trays were full at the side exit and cigarette butts were all over. Also, the coffee shop never opened the second morning.

We had an enjoyable stay.

The room was comfortable, but the shower liner was missing, and the curtain was too high, so the bathroom floor flooded. All tiled floors in entrance and elevators were filthy. The carpet in the dining area was stained. The food in the “bistro” was awful. Never again!

For starter the website advertised a pool but upon arrival there was no pool and i actually choose that hotel because of the pool and the hall wasnt the cleanest and balcony had a bees nest on it

Upon complaining of housekeeping her response was that a manager could me later and offer me points. I’m not a bonvoy member!

We checked in at 3, the front desk worker didn’t provide a warm welcome. The headboard was torn, the light fixture was stained, the pillows had stains on them, the bed wasn’t made properly. I requested to be placed in another room, which the front desk lady refused to let me get the room with a balcony. Changed rooms and the closet was damaged with no doors. For the $206.00 paid the property needs an upgrade. The pool wasn’t cleaned with no opening date. I really wanted my money back and desired to leave but of course it’s ALWAYS so hard to get a refund

This hotel is really expensive. It is a little run down and has no exhaust fan for the bathroom. There is no free continental breakfast and the lids for the coffee cups in the room won’t fit the cups. Sorry, but I would not stay there again

Improvement: TV is finicky

This is a hotel that does not reflect the Marriot name. There seems to be a housekeeping problem. In our room the sheets did not fit the bed so had in fact curled off the mattress. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and gave us another room. When I went to check it the room wasn’t made up. Pillows and comforter on the floor. Back to the front desk. Third time lucky. All this after a 10 hour drive. No Bistro, no coffee anywhere. Even on departure at 6 30. Lobby was dark, no coffee, no breakfast. Really poor performance.

The room is very nice and updated. We had our saughter with us and she stayed on rhe couch bed and it was comfortable for her. The bistro downstairs has good food and drinks. My daughter spilled her coffee as we were leaving so we went in to get another and the gentleman gave us another no charge. All the staff we interacted with were nice.

Overall, the property was very worn and tired. My shower had mildew in it. There were a lot of scratches on the walls in the hallway, as well as near the elevator, and in my room. The balcony door was very difficult to open and close.

I dislike the bed/bedding. It’s just a mattress against the wall. There are “header pillows” in lieu of a headboard, and the shams do not fit so the gross pillow sticks out. The comforter is no good. Too small for a king and the sheets kept coming off bed.

I was disappointed in the condition of this hotel. There was a great deal of mildew in the bathroom shower, and the shower walls looked dirty. Also, I thought it was odd that the beds did not have head boards. In place of headboards, there was a foam wedge placed behind the pillows. Also, we walked by a storage room which had an open door, and boy, sometimes you are just better off not seeing things that are supposed to closed off. It was just sloppy and dirty in general.

If we were to return, I doubt we will stay there. No matter the room setting, the air in the room was stale and stuffy. The mattress sagged in the middle and the pillows were small and too soft.

Should invest in continental breakfast over the Starbucks thing.

It was perfectly fine for a couple nights, situated in a good area and easily walkable which is nice. We stayed during Parents Weekend at JMU. My only complaint was the lack of coffee available for patrons in the early morning hours, mostly due to the onsite Starbucks that opened late on weekend and ran behind schedule.
