American Inn & Suites - High Point NC

just FYI. There is almost no internet service. could not get text or calls. had to walk outside to order food ( as NOTHING) is nearby nor does it seem safe to walk about. rooms are very worn out (spring thru the mattress and holes in the blanket ). shower &tub was new and bathroom was clean) takes 20 min to get hot. hairdryer broken. lamps with no bulbs. no ice. no breakfast as noted just coffee in room and u have to ask. im not sure why they dont put more effort into this property especially during furniture market. the person at the desk is nice and i suspect its a family business. they really could do better esp the two times of the year they could charge a decent rate.

The room was decently clean but the furniture was ripped and disorganized. The room i booked had a king size bed and had a full size fitted sheet on it. Housekeeping had to notice when they made the bed. It just seemed like they didnt care how the place looked. The ceiling tiles were stained and cracked. Definitely would not recommend.

It was urine behind plastic trash can bag liner. Yuck.

Affordable, convenient but dated. My room didn’t have a microwave but seen other rooms with one.

My room was nonsmoking but my sheets and pillow cases had cigarette burns in them. The towels had foot prints in them. I clesned the entire room, bout sheets & towels from Walmart. Carpet is filthy. Very Disappointed. I only used the room for sleeping from work

It probably used to be nice, but now it's old.

Office located 50 yards in front of rooms in separate building. Key would not open door had to go back to get key programmed to work twice.

UPON GETTING TO THE HOTEL AFTER I RESEVED MY CONFIRMATION NUMBER I WAS TOLD THE ROOM WAS ALREADY BOOKED BUT I HAD A CONFIRMATION NUMBER THEN I WAS UPSOLD A ROOM FOR $90 TO ENTER THE ROOM TO FIND IT WAS DIRTY I ASK FOR A REFUND AND LEFT STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND

Never stay at this location

the building was locked so you could not get in. room was disgusting so i left. people loitering about. found out it has a reputation for drug area...room was dated. lights did not work, lamp shade missing. linens old.

This property should be removed from your site. I would be embarrassed to represent this property. Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever been in in my life. Disgusting. Broken furniture, dirty carpet, light fixtures that didn't work, dirty sheets, God it was awful.

The stay was ok. I wouldn’t stay here again. My room had no smoke detector, refrigerator was unplugged, and no iron. And also had a funny smell.

Hotel located in a creepy, solitary area. Needs maintenance and an upkeep. There was mildew in the bathroom ceiling and on the shower curtain. There was no soap in the bathroom. Also, when checking the mattresses, looks like there was a bed bug problem in the past. I didn't sleep well at all. Will never stay there again.

Needs a bulldozer to start over. Very dated and odd layout.

We did not stay in the disgusting room. The clerk refunded our payment and we went elsewhere.

The room had an old smell to it. Also roaches was all over the place once you turned the lights off...they was all over my bag and I put it in the trash. Also it wasn’t any wash towels. Bed was broken...NEVER STAY HERE NEVER

Clean relaxing and comfortable.

We pulled into the parking lot and proceeded to leave because we felt very unsafe. There were only 3 cars in the lot, one with flat tires, (yes multiple tires) and one with its rear bumper ripped off. There were screens torn and ripped out of the windows both 1st and 2nd floors. There was trash and broken glass all over the parking lot. I couldn’t get my money back, but I absolutely was not going to stay there to see if our truck n trailer would get broken into or vandilized

15 minute to confirm the room is good. No elevator for handicapped.

The hotel was disgusting. The door wouldn’t lock. Crackheads outside all over the place. Asking for money and rides.

The rooms were clean and neat, this was my second time coming

Had a breakdown driving my 18 wheeler and had to get a room for the weekend while it was getting repaired

Dirty and worn in a bad area. Stained carpets, everywhere you look something is broken, dirty and worn furniture.

The water pressure in the room is good. The property is very dated and is in need of updating.

I booked for non-smoking, and obviously someone smoked in that room, and they sprayed with cheap room spray. Couldn't sleep well due to the smell.

The location was good for the High Point Show, but the property is in poor condition

Property was difficult to get into because of malfunctioning lock. Rooms are spacious, but beds are uncomfortable and everything is pretty dated.

The desk clerk neglected to tell me about visitors. I was very upset that the desk clerk called me to say no visitors after 9pm and my guest of 4 people had to leave. I was totally inconvenienced, because I had to leave my room to entertain. And was not given any extended time. Will NEVER stay there again..

Cars was pulling in and out of parking lot look like drug activity people waiting on u to open door so they could get access there’s was nobody to call on for help if needed anything no staff members was at this location at all I would never stay here again

needs updated, no elevators, founds cereal under the bed. furniture stained . No wonder it's cheaper then the other hotels. My friend would not stay.

There was a crowd of loud rowdy people in the parking lot. Felt uncomfortable, did not get out of the car and went to a different hotel.

It’s ok for the price. It could’ve been cleaner and the bed isn’t the most comfortable but if you need a quick night stay it’s cool

Got a room and it already seem like someone was in it so they changed us rooms. They had nasty stained towels and our key kept getting disconnected

You get what you pay for. Friendly staff. In rough area but rooms were spacious and clean. A little worn out carpet wise. Only one towel per person. However quiet and overall decent for cheaper rate.

I leave out to start and enjoy my day and come back to a room with the same linen and sheets on the bed. Staff states they change sheets every 3 days. WOW! Online the hotel stated free hot breakfast but when I arrived the hotel stated they stopped the free breakfast 2 weeks ago. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life! Thumbs down! 👎 all the way down.

Gave us the wrong room with 2 small beds instead of 1 and the bathroom was small. One light sheet on the bed so it was a little cold in the room. Only upside was the continental breakfast was pretty good.

Hotel had no elevator and you had to go to the first floor just for ice.

There was supposed to be a free breakfast and they didn't have it ... the main office is in a separate building in front of the hotel .. bad part of town

The continintal breakfast was a couple of pieces of bread for toast there wasn't even any butter or jelly to put on the bead, coffee, that was its-Nothing else- pathetic!

The room was fine. It was clean and comfortable but what I didn’t like was that you had to check in at another building and then walk up a hill to the building that housed the rooms in the rain and snow plus ice. The building that the rooms are in looked like a regular motel without the front desk. It was just weird for I had never seen a motel or stayed at one like that. The staff was very accommodating though and after having such a bad day, that helped a lot. If you’re looking for a clean room close to the interstate then this motel is good. I felt safe there and I was traveling alone and got stuck there bc of the storm. It’s a basic motel and priced right for what you get.

We got what we paid for and we weren't expecting much else. A bit dingy, dirty, worn furniture, no breakfast, no elevator. Immediate highway access and very close to Castle McCulloch and that is what we wanted. A bit shady from the outside check in. First room smelled like smoke but they were very prompt to put us in a new, cleaner room. Rooms were large but dated and worn. They did have free wi-fi.

It was great. Will be there again. Very nice room and very clean only issue was the coffee pot didn't work but can't blame the hotel for that things stop working sometimes.

This was my 2nd time staying at this hotel and I was again, not disappointed. The family is kind, security is decent and the place is clean. They greet you very kindly and are anxious to assist you in having the best stay possible. I would and have recommended them to others.

This was my THIRD stay at this hotel. Its appearance (from the street) and location are not great, but that doesn't matter to me; what counts (IMHO) is the room amenities and cleanliness-- categories in which this place is FAR better than other, higher-priced hotels in the area. The only snag I hit was that their "continental' breakfast offering (self-serve coffee, tea, toast, etc.) was INACCESSIBLE all three days because nobody was manning the front desk to let me in-- even at 8am. I could have walked back to my room and phoned the Front Desk and maybe gotten in, but by that time (each day) I needed to be on my way and so decided not to hassle with it. if they'd just fix that one problem, I'd give them FIVE STARS for being a great value (not to be confused with a "Traditional" 5-star hotel.....The Waldorf-Astoria it is NOT!

Over all good experience. Friendly staff. Room quality can be improved by nice furniture as sofa contains stains.

Had to go to the front desk to get a remote they they clam to be in the room which wasn't then the tv didn't was at all

Not my type a hotel

I was given a room on the second floor, and entered the hotel building to realize there are no elevators. I was traveling with my two kids, so I had to carry all our luggage up to the second floor via stairs. The hotel in general had a musty smell and a run-down feel, and the room was no better. The carpet was worn and stained in multiple places, and there were stains and marks on the walls (including what looked like lipstick on the door-frame to the bathroom). The beds and pillows were comfortable enough, and the AC worked (though as was typical with many hotel rooms of this age it was quite loud). The hotel was quiet while I was there, and we slept fine. They gave me no hassles on check-out.

We didn't stay. First room they gave us on the first floor was not made up from the last use. Wet towels on the bathroom floor and bed unmade. Didn't look but someone could still have been using it. The second room was on the second floor. When we walked upstairs the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. Opened the room and it was even worse. No way we could stay there. The hotel was suppose to be smoke free. We went back and cancelled the reservation and got our money back. The front desk is in a separate building and appears no one manages what happens in the actual hotel. Rooms looked reasonable but two strikes and I am out.

My stay was ok not the best but ok. The office was located behind were I was standing. It was not in the same building.

And more staff

There was no staff in the hotel at all. Towels while laundered had stains on them. Looked like a mechanic wiped his hands on them and they could not bleach out the stains. Breakfast was 2 almost empty containers of cereal. The keycard was unstable. After returning from dinner, we got into the hotel but were not able to get into our room. I had to trek across the parking lot at 10pm in heels to get my key reset. Once we were in our room that night, we did not dare come out again because we could hear people arguing and fighting. I tried to call the front desk but the line was continuously busy. Thank goodness we only booked a night!

Check in staff was friendly, room was tidy but had to request removal of dirty clothes from floor of closet. Facility was not at all what I had anticipated based on reviews read.

The staff is horrible. They have an attitude. They talk to you however they want!

The staff is amazing. They offer all they can in all ways. They also offer extended stay room for a good price.
