Holiday Inn Express Hillsborough by IHG

It was a nice hotel to stay at. Only two issues I had were that the TV was very small and the remote barely worked. Had to keep mashing the buttons to get them to work. Would be worth it to invest in nicer setup while staying there. And there was almost no water pressure in the bathroom sink. Took a long time to clean my toothbrush. :). I will say that the breakfast was very good. They had bacon one morning and sausage the next, which I like. I do not like when hotels serve the same thing every day. All in all, the overall experience was positive.

I was impressed with everything.I found nothing I didn't find anything yp complain about.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Came back to hotel after family activities one evening to hotel staff sitting on bench smoking pot.

This hotel fit the bill for a two-night stay with my family. Parking and check-in were easy and the breakfast was good. I specifically liked the pancake machine. We didn't go to the pool, so can't give feedback on that. The room was clean, the bathroom was modern and nice, and the beds were comfortable. Staff was very friendly. The only snafu was at one point not all of our keys worked, but they corrected the problem right away. Would definitely stay here again!

I liked they had a good breakfast. I did not like that handicap room was so small. Definitely was not wheel chair accessible if one had been needed. Overall it was a clean room and bathroom. Front desk staff Pricilla and Ii did not get the black guy's name that found scissors to open my husband's package were marvelous and made the stay welcoming. Rm 110

Very clean and renovated facility. Super conveniently located. Customer-centric staff. Great rooms. Fresh food for breakfast.

Convenient location to highways and to town.

Breakfast was fresh and well prepared. Cleanliness was excellent. Front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It’s a great place to stay to be close to Chapel Hill and UNC without spending a fortune.

I don't mind paying for hotel's but by far this was the first disappointing stay and I have been all over States and stayed at holiday inn Expresses this old hotel could make the grade but needs maintenance but staff made it more pleasant stay

The room smelled really damp. I was concerned about mold. The sheets had an odd unclean smell. The bathroom wall near the bathroom door Was nasty. Staff was nice.

We stayed over New Year’s. Easy check in and out. Clean comfortable room. Fresh coffee and nice continental breakfast. Friendly staff. Weather was cold so didn’t use outside amenities. Will stay there again if needed

The whole hotel felt old and outdated. Room had a strange odor and the bathroom sink drain did not drain well.

Room had a stale odor. The accessible shower had no seat. Room may have not been used for a long while. Door had loud squeaky noise when opened. Peep holes on door were useless. I was jolted awake several times from loud noises during the night.

Staff was great. No complaints with the room.

The front desk clerk, Caitlyn was under pressure when we arrived at the hotel with a line of people waiting to check in, but the system was down. She did an amazing job troubleshooting on the phone and was apologetic for the wait while handling the line with urgency and professionalism! Cheers to Caitlyn!

The room was clean and the staff was very courteous.

Check in and out was a breeze. The staff was wonderful - helpful and joyful. The bed was really comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. My husband forgot his fan that helps him sleep - called the front desk and they found a fan for him. Breakfast was not excellent but very good. We were there for a football game at UNC and that was a very convenient location. Definitely would recommend staying here.

I usually have a great experience at Holiday Inn express… this one was a little old tattered, reasonably clean, but not what I expected from a Holiday Inn express.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This is about my sixth visit and I will be back again.

The hotel was extremely clean. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast area was very clean and had several options. The food was hot and of course the cinnamon rolls were yummy! The staff was very nice.

Pleasant receptionist was very efficient, everything in the room is attractive and in good shape, thermostat works well, outdoor pool is lovely and quiet. We have no complaints!

The most concerning part was our first night at 2:30am I woke to the sounds of gun fire, and then around 3:15am I heard a second round of gun fire.

The hotel is beautiful, the room extremely clean, good bed etc, however, I was so disappointed with the front desk lady when I arrived, she was very unprofessional, never direct her eyes at me, didn’t talk, no welcome…. In another words NASTY. However, I will recommend this hotel because of one nasty lady I will not lie about the hotel been awesome. I hope you are more lucky with the staff.

Arrived to scent of bleach and service staff in masks. Room clean, chaise comfortable, sufficient towels and good scrambled eggs - formed and not soggy!

My son and I stayed one night while we attended the Duke Notre Dame lacrosse game. The room was clean and the staff was great. The morning after our stay we ate breakfast at the hotel. The eggs did not have any flavor and the sausage was cold, but the coffee was hot. I would stay at this hotel again.

I truly enjoyed my experience outside of people above me making lots of noise but I was on the first floor so it’s to be expected.

They did not let me check in. They told me that Orbitz never paid the hotel. I offered to show my receipt and the receptionist told me it does not matter and I had to pay the full price again. I did not get to stay at the hotel at all.

They charged my debit card and extra $171. I went down to the first desk they told me they don’t know where it came from. And also the staff James refuse to give me a receipt

Tv service went out for almost twenty four hours. My Refrigerator was missing a leg. I have two different Bills from Hotel. Com and Holiday Inn. I need to figure out which one to pay.

It was nice but when I rebooked because I decided to stay an extra day they gave our bigger room that was reserved to someone else and we were put into a different type of room, a bit disappointing.

The hotel was clean and updated. Staff at check in was not very friendly. Breakfast was fare. Very little fresh fruit except BLANd overly plastic wrapped apples and no bananas. The water at this place tastes TERRIBLE. This makes the coffee and any tea made also not pleasant. I recommend a water filter.

I had a nice stay here. Staff were kind, greeted me each time I came by and were helpful when I needed anything. Breakfast was great and the lobby was clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Hotel is quite close to Hillsborough and easy to get in and out of. All in all a good experience.

It’s a fine hotel. Very much a chain. Clean and convenient to the downtown area.

They changed my account oh I’m sorry the only held the money from my account. $415 125 when the room was already paid for. Spent 3 days going between them and Expedia to get it all figured out. But they couldn’t take the hold of the money until I checked out. I checked out a day early but guess what yep that would not give me my money back for the last day. Because it was prepaid. They even had to leave me checked in until the following day. I asked if they were going to at least take the hold off my money the put on it. The said ya the could do that. Well it’s the day I was supposed to check out they have only released the $125. I was there for the Blue Ridge rock festival that got rained out and canceled.

Second time staying here. Once again it did not disappoint. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Good Breakfast. Not sure why it’s only rated an 8 in Expedia. Should be higher. Would recommend and stay again

2) Towels/Washclothes were not provided 2nd or 3rd day of stay- nor was Trash taken out of room. Had to take care of removing trash and going down to front desk to get more clean towel- rather than them be brought up to our room... Same for requesting Toliet paper (which room only had (maybe) 1/3 of a roll when getting into our room. On the UP Side, GREAT Breakfast selection! CLEAN, well lit parking & stairwells. Staff was Very Poliet & Friendly!

The room was not as nice as the photos. Smushed bug on the wall and dead bug in the bathroom floor. The shower had dove products which was really nice. There was an adjoining room, the knob was missing to their door so we could see right in. Probably wouldn’t stay again
