It was about what I’d expect from a 2-star hotel. The room I stayed in was clean, and they cleaned it every day for the 4 days and nights I stayed. The main thing I didn’t like was the premium price, but I realized I was paying for the convenience of being a 12-minute walk away from the George R Brown Convention Center, which is why I was there. It was nice to have a full kitchen. If the TV experience of a hotel is your jam, you might not like this one, as the TV in my room was a Roku TV without any subscriptions, but more importantly, it was extremely slow, laggy, and buffered frequently. I used my wifi hotspot and laptop to entertain myself instead. The bed was as comfortable as any other hotel bed I’ve stayed in and was comfortable enough for me, which says a lot because I’m a memory foam enthusiast who doesn’t like these types of mattresses in the first place. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I’d rate this as a good experience with a few things that are less desirable but manageable for a short stay.

The room was spotlessly clean with strong air conditioning. It was very comfortable and the kitchen was spacious. The hotel is unassuming from the outside and nothing fancy, but is a great location. I was nervous due to some more negative reviews from years ago, but it is clear that the hotel has spent time and effort in cleaning up the rooms and decorating the space. It was blocks away from the start line for the Houston Marathon (which is why I was in town) and I would recommend anyone looking for a no-frills, but clean and comfortable hotel in the downtown area. Furthermore, the lobby receptionist provided fantastic recommendations for the area and was very helpful and friendly.

Convenient to Toyota Center....it was a very short walk . Room appeared to be recently updated to an all white and Grey theme. Had full kitchen with refrigerator and freezer.also had a microwave. The biggest problem for me was the fact that all the rooms were on the second floor and there was no elevator.... only three flights of stairs. Room was small. The night stand was only on one bed instead of being in the middle of the two. Probably bexause the door to room needed space to open. But not having night stand next to the far bed was slightly annoying. Blinds on windows seamed to be disabled on purpose ...couldn't adjust them open etc. AC was directly next to the bed on that side so it blew directly onto the person in that bed .Despite there being parking areas all the way around the building ....none were available for overnight parking . Hotels designated parking area was one block up and one block behind the hotel . We were charged $25 per night for this space . There were no ice trays or buckets in room to make or hold ice. Luckily we had a small cooler that we were able to use for ice. Despite all these issues ...I would probably stay here again ...location was what we paid for. It just didn't have the conveniences that we are used to having in more modern hotels. Many of these can be addressed and fixed .

I actually really enjoyed my stay and I would stay here again however when I did walk in the room, there was a slight odor, secondly, there’s no full length mirror so I couldn’t check my outfit, third there is no elevator so be prepared to walk upstairs, fourth there is no immediate on-site Parking, parking is literally several blocks away so be prepared to walk other than that. The suite was nice. The staff was accommodating. It’s literally two minutes away from the Toyota center so if you wanna wear heels to your concert, you can!!!!!!

The location. The staff at the counter lied to us and made us pay for $25.00 parking a block away when we didn’t have to. There is off the road parking right across from their hotel. We paid 5.00 then it was free after 6 and Sunday was free all day. Asked for a refund and got denied it. Never used it. I called booking.com and told them the situation with not feeling safe and the room after he made us check in, wouldn’t let us see it in advance was horrible. We immediately left with all our stuff in the car still, that’s when I called booking.com. He told them we never left the room, while when we walked to the room and then walked back to our car to leave, he wasn’t in there. That is a lying place of business. We ended up having to stay because we knew we would not get our money back. We checked out at 8:00 am to get the hell out of there when we had lots of plans to stay in Houston.

There was no internal chain or bar lock on the door. And Sunday morning at about 3:30, someone (a staff member, I think) tried to let themself in. He opened the door (i'm guessing with a master key or new key card he made downstairs). I loudly shouted "NO! GET THE **** OUT!" and he finally left. Not safe for guests! Expedia should drop this listing immediately because of the danger the hotel poses to guests.

I made a 4 day non-refundable reservation via Expedia. Due to weather problems with airlines I arrived on day 3 and expected my room to be available. It had been reassigned. Although I got a room, it was of lesser grade than what I reserved and paid for. The contract via Expedia made no mention of requiring a call for late arrivals.....only if I wanted to change my reservation which I didn't. Hotel staff argued with me about this point that I should not have expected to still have the room even though I had a non-refundable fee. The TV in my room #208 had no remote control to operate it. Coffee maker in lobby had no creamer or sugar to add to coffee. Lobby is not attended at all hours and sometimes did not get a response from locked lobby door with doorbell. My lost luggage being delivered from airport required two separate deliveries because of this. No USB ports were in room to charge my phone, but hotel staff helped me on this by charging my phone in their office. Price on the room was good and I liked the proximity to the Convention center.

Me and my husband choose to stay at this hotel simply due to the location. It was extremely close to event we were in town for. We only stayed one night and at first glance we almost didn't t check in. The outside looks sketchy but let me tell you, it was great. The room was clean, no weird smells or sounds. I'm autistic and was very worked about being overstimulate with sounds and smells that come with older buildings. The staff were very helpful, the inside doesn't match the outside. All new appliances and the mirror in the bathroom was everything, I'm actually ordering one for my home cause it was amazing! I can't even describe the features the mirror had. It was small but cute and comfortable and intimate. It was seriously perfect. So glad we chose to stay. Definitely will be back

The room itself was ok. Things looked clean but in the bathroom there was no hand soap and there was a hole in the wall that had been haphazardly repaired. The in suite kitchen was fine. I saw a bug crawling on the wall and all of the cutlery/cookware was just thrown in the cabinets. At one point on my second day my key stopped working and when I went down to the front desk the lady “working” there couldn’t fix it. She didn’t actually work there, she was just there helping out the owner and didn’t actually know how to do anything. The owner called the maintenance guy to go let me in the room from the dumpster which was just our back and it took him 15 minutes to get back inside. When I got back that night it was still broken, even though it was supposed to be fixed and when I went down to ask why it didn’t work I got scolded for putting my key next to the phone. The room was enough to get me through but after I didn’t feel the safest, but that could be my own anxieties. Everything in the room felt worn out and the tv didn’t work that well. The only thing that would make me stay again would be if everything around the Toyota center was sold out

they lied about free parking; they wanted to charge me to park in a sketchy off-property lot during the check-in process and when I showed them the email confirmation from expedia saying that I would be given a parking voucher when checking in, the guy got super upset at me and demanded the room key back and refused to let me stay there after all even though I had prepaid for the room which was advertised to include a parking voucher. I asked what does voucher mean but the guys was so mad, screaming at me and threatening to shoot me if I did not leave the premesis so I left and the front desk guy (who threatened me) was following me on my way out the door so I kicked the door shut behind me to prevent him from continuing to pursue me. when i called expedia customer service to ask for a refund they called the hotel who claimed they had filed a police report against me for supposedly damaging their door somehow, and that they were refusing to issue a refund so expedia told me the only option I had was to call the hotel to ask them for a refund but i was not willing to do this because of the death threats that the front desk guy made against me so then expedia said my only other option was to dispute the card charge with my bank.

The hotel was nice in that it was smaller and not a lot of noise. It was not what I was expecting. There was no elevator. My iron didn’t work. The bed was hard. It took a while to check in. I paid fees at the hotel that I was not expecting. I was aware of a $25 charge that was to be collected at the hotel. However, when I got there, it was a $40 charge plus $50 for parking. I was hoping for a workout room and pool but I didn’t pay attention when I was making my reservation. The parking gate closed at 8 and didn’t open til 8 am which was very inconvenient. I had to call for someone to walk the 2 blocks to come manually open the gate.

Pictures are extremely misleading. The description of this property was not what it was. It said rooms across 2 floors, no just 2nd fl only. No elevator. Free Breakfast, no breakfast at all , not even grab and go and 3 day old cream with no coffee. Bar/Lounge, nope. Gym, never saw it. Air conditioner was not turned on in the room until we got there at 4pm. Took all night to cool the room. 2 extra fees added, 1 I knew nothing about until I got there. The lady that was at the desk Saturday and Monday during the day was very pleasant. That was the best part.

When first checking in I guess the dude who was checking me in was in training. But poor dude could barely finish a sentence before his trainer started to correct him. The room was ok and the tv and wifi works good. Shower was small and you couldn’t adjust the shower head considering I am 5’1 the shower head was to high. Also, if you go to the Rockets game it was a 5 minute walk. Don’t drink because you will have to climb two flights of stairs. Check out i cant speak much on it because there was no one there to help us check out. Just know you need your room card to open the door to get out & pressing the red button doesn’t get you anywhere. We just pushed the key inside the window since no one was there. I would say this hotel/suite is no where near fancy & is outdated. If you’re looking for luxury go else where. But the location was perfect for the Toyota Center & different restaurants.

Pretty sketchy place in the middle of downtown Houston. Checkin was the weirdest I have ever experienced had to be buzzed in with the attendant behind glass. Then the seemingly high or clearly off hotel manager walked in and harassed me. The room itself was pretty bad. There were no shower curtains and someone took the batteries from the remote and the mattress felt like a pullout mattress. The place it self was decently clean but still was gross. There were additional fees of $25 for sanitation when we arrived above and beyond what we paid Expedia. Fine if you literally just need a place to sleep but otherwise not a place I’d bring my kids again.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone by any means, I stayed here with a few friends back in September and never wanted to leave a hotel as quickly as I wanted to. The room was absolutely filthy, sheets weren't even changed out by the time we got there. The sheets had hair, dirt, nail clippings, and weird stains on it that I don't even know what they were but they looked disgusting. The blinds of the room were broken to the point that someone could LOOK into our room and was held together by what looks like duct tape. We found a DEAD roach in the cabinet, and parts of the walls had holes and weird stains??? The lobby alone felt unsafe while checking in, a random guy came in who didn't even look like someone who had a booking at the hotel just stood there waiting and gave my party and I really unsettling vibes. Trying to park at this place was extremely unsafe due to the document they had me put on my windshield had all of my room and contact information in it, the parking lot itself was unsafe due to how far it was from the hotel and there was no form of security to prevent someone from getting to my car or SEEING my hotel room information and knowing EXACTLY where my party and I were staying. My party and I didn't even stay for more than two hours that day of checking in because of how uncomfortable this place made us and ended up booking elsewhere that same day. I have more of this review I want to post because so much more happened that I can't type it all out.

We went to a concert in town and chose this location because it was within walking distance. I did read reviews prior to booking so I was aware it is not a high end property. The value was decent. The check in went well overall-the front desk agent was being trained. They did freshen up our room. We paid a $20 sanitation fee but honestly I don't feel that the room was sanitized. The room was decent however it could be so much better if the detail work was taken care of. Towels were very old. No stopper in bathroom sink. There was a disconnected refrigerator that was just here and dirty on the exterior. I never opened it. When we got back from the concert and I used the restroom there was a cockroach. My husband killed it. I didn't feel the room was dirty but I felt it just needed a little to make it feel cleaner. There was supposed to be breakfast but there wasn't. Front desk agent was sitting in lobby chatting with someone but she had told us she was going to do breakfast. The staff was very friendly overall.

When we arrived to our room it was a complete dump. Stains on sheets and smelled funky in room. Complained to hotels.com and they said they would change room. I advised we were at an event and would be late they said no worries they would be waiting. When we arrived that night no one was available as promised to change our room and we had no choice but to stay. We also parked where told and came out to a 30$ parking ticket. The additional 20$ cleaning fee on arrival was a joke. Complete waste of hard earned money.

There are some nice shopping and delicious dining within blocks and it is also located right by City Centre. The staff is helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone not looking for a big $$ hotel with still all the convenience of the location.

The customer service is horrible. It says 1% chance of a refund. The way that front desk person treated us. We deserve a refund. How do you say no early check in without a fee, but then at 3pm no one shows up to the desk till 3:15? While people are waiting and we can see the person just standing around in the camera. The AC is very loud. The toliet is broken. Pillows are dirty. We like bed and breakfast hotels, but not this one. The worst part was the customer service. When we checked out and waiting for our ride. AGAIN that rude person asked if the other associate would ask us if we needed anything else because we were standing in the lobby. No other customers were there and we weren't in the way. So we moved outside. The 2 men that were cleaning the windows stopped the other guest that i checked in with. Stated he was new here and asked if the rooms were clean? The lady said NO. 2 guest that were there agreed with me. Get it together or start changing your refund policy to higher rate.

Staff behind bullet proof glass in the lobby. You have to sign a form that lists 8 different ways in which the hotel can take more money from you if you don't do this and that just so. You get surprised by having to pay another $20 for a "sanitation fee." A day before check-in you get an email from them saying they'll keep all your money unless you cancel two weeks in advance. (Nice timing of the email.) TV looked like it had been wiped by a nasty, wet rag. Roaches all over the bathroom. I kept waking up in fear of roaches crawling on me. Sure enough, woke up to see a roach the size of a matchbook crawling up the curtain next to the bed.
