It should clearly state that there will be a $100 incidental charge to your credit card the morning of your stay-prior to check in. Then they will have the charge pending until whenever they get around to releasing it because it’s been 12 days and there is still that hold on my account. Seriously! My stay was two night yet the hold on my card is now six times longer than my actual stay. I now know how the people in the J G Wentworth commercials feel…”It’s my money…and I want it now!”

Jay at the front desk was amazing very helpful. Very knowledgeable. The surprise came when I was charged $100 the morning of my stay ( before I even checked in) for “incidentals”. I don’t recall seeing that mentioned anywhere when I booked. Now, nine days later that charge is still pending on my account. Not cool.

My wife and I was BOTH impressed with EVERYTHING about the room we had! It was very clean and spacious. We received far more than what we imagined! After our last experience, THIS place will be the ONLY for me. The staff was very polite and helpful so check in and out was quick and easy.

Looked like it was a converted apartment?? Had better kitchen area than my home here? Was VERY good room for price and not too far from convention center that I went to 4 days? Traffic, of course, was another thing but was expected like most VERY BIG towns? Parking was right out front of door and I handicapped so better yet? Very hood for price!!

We had our two doodles with us and learned upon check-in the fee was $50 per dog per night which is extremely high!! Also, the shower water in our room never got hot even after running the water for five minutes - it wasn’t even warm enough to jump in for a quick rinse. Very disappointing stay overall.

The room was clean and cozy. I loved how soft the mattress was but I didn’t like that there wasn’t any hot water to take a shower so I couldn’t wash my hair. The cold bath was semi bearable but a quick bath.

I reserved a handicap mobility room. They did not have any available even though I paid and reserved for one. They switched me to three different rooms to only put me back to the very first room that didn't have a mobility shower because they could not find a mobility room, even though they were not fully booked all their mobility rooms we're undergoing carpet cleaning in the next week so they were not using those rooms. One rooms air conditioner was so loud like it was about to fall off the wall. They tried putting me in a hearing mobility room instead of a mobility room. And they would not refund even a partial amount of my money. They told me they could refund it all if I go get myself a different hotel.

I didn’t like anything about this property Upon checking in it was a rat in 1 of the 2 rooms I booked well they swapped that 1 but not the room side by side of that room well 2 nights later the rat entered the other room! Just horrible and they didn’t seem to care at all

Cleanness and friendly staff

I’d be honest…based on the reviews I did expect better, but it was okay for a short stay. We had to change rooms around midnight, once we realized we didn’t have hot water. Our new room was clean, hot water worked, but the ac unit sounded so loud every time it came on. The staff were friendly. Amenities were plenty. Area was safe and quiet.

Everything about the room was functional. They had a cooking space, dish washer, full fridge and freezer and dish washer. Each room is a home away from home

Parking lot was dirty, bit of trash scattered, parking lot needs some TLC.

Entire facility needs a refresh. Obvious that money is not being spent on maintaining the property. In addition to flooring, bathroom, and walls, the permanent microwave had failed and the temporary microwave had to be tapped on the side sometimes to work.

Mice alert ‼️ Mice alert ‼️ mice alert ‼️ during my stay October 24-27 2025 I learned that this hotel had mice on that Saturday of my stay I kept hearing something in the trash while we was sleep but I’m thinking I was just hearing stuff but I wasn’t that Sunday night it was real loud I called the front desk and told him that I think it’s a mice in my room he bluntly said he can give me a mouse trap because it was no maintenance there lol I’m like yea no whole time I get up the mice was inside my suit case eating my chocolate ?‍♀️ I get up go down stairs the front desk guy like the manager a be here at 7 I waited she took a pic of the chocolate cause I took it right to her she told me by me paying third party they would have to take other steps for me to get my money back that the general manager would have to do but I was leaving so he was going to call me and I still haven’t heard from him them I even talked to booking and they said they haven’t responded so I still haven’t received my money back it’s now Nov 20 very unprofessional

Clean room, soft towels and comfortable bed. Bathroom was decent size. Clean closet. The kitchen was clean. No breakfast served. Cold full size refrigerator and microwave. Easy to use stove top. The area was safe. Hotel parking lot was secure and safe. Near the I-10 for easy access to the expressway. Number of restaurants nearby. 20 minutes from Hobby Airport and 15-20 minutes to Houston downtown.

I was visiting for a wedding/mini vacation & this was my first time getting on a plane at 26 years old lol but it was great! I didn’t take any picture because I was always rushing on the go, but it was very clean, neat, and comfy.

It was clean and staff was okay. There was no water pressure. Had to take cold showers since the water did not get hot. The toilet was broken so we had to manually lift the tank lid to flush (when there was water pressure).

Stay itself was good. At check in you have a person in training keeping asking for my ID and apologizing but when I ask what's the problem you state nothing to everything is fine. Why would the trainer leave the trainee and you see someone checking in. There was no hot water in my room from the sink to the shower.

Very comfortable bed. The rooms were very clean and nice. I was glad that the staff was honest and helped me recover my daughter’s tablet. We are definitely going to stay here again when we come back in June. The rooms have a fully equipped kitchen.

Service was okay. Facility is very old and tired. Sink was clogged and original room had been smoked in, even though labeled as non-smoking (they accommodated immediately by changing to a different room). Not entirely sure how this hotel got 4.8 stars….

This was horrible. I want a refund. The rub was dirty and so was the bathroom and sheets. I asked the housekeeper to clean it and she did not. It qas a horrible experience. Never again

This was my first stay at Candlewood Suites. I felt a since of home as soon as I walked into the building. The place was very cleaned. The staff was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the quietness at night throughout my stay. I'd recommend this place to customers looking for a great place to stay at a very reasonable price.

Unkept area behind hotel. Room had a stale smoke smell and hallway had a sewerage smell like plumbing may have backed up somewhere on that floor. Only one luggage cart for hotel. I expected a Candlewood hotel to be a much nicer place to stay:(

I feel the zone is not safe and within the hotel someone went after me and started to have a talk with me then ask me money

The hotel was easy to find and I only about 15 mins from the city. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. They had everything you needed for lovely stay. The staff was very friendly and gave us extra towels and things when we asked. I also liked the fact they were pet friendly.

It was very nice, and comfortable. Very friendly host, and no problems with getting my room when I got there. 12pm wake up was a very nice to receive, got to rest an extra hour. Loved it for sure.

Enjoyed the stay

The property is showing it’s age. They did not have enough towels for everyone. The air conditioning unit in our room worked but made a terrible sound when it cycled on so all night it kept waking me up and the next day I was exhausted. They did give me a little discount for the nuisance.

For starters, I am not real big on providing reviews, but I want anyone that is seriously thinking about staying at this location to STAY AWAY!! I noticed what appeared to be a piece of paper. I picked it up and guess what it was? A mouse trap. The sticky kind that the mouse would be stuck on. Unfortunately, I was eating chips and my bag got stuck to the trap. I couldn't remove the bag from the trap and disposed of both. So now my antenna is up. I travel a lot and have never known or seen mouse traps in a hotel room. I packed my things and placed them on the couch instead of the floor. Why would a hotel have mouse traps? My thoughts are that the hotel is infested with mice. No other explanation. At 430am on my day of departure, I was awakened by noise in the kitchen area as I booked a one bedroom. It was coming from the garbage can. I looked into the garbage can and guess what I saw?? A frickin mouse. I was terrified as rodents turn my stomach. I immediately went to the front desk and told her to get that garbage can out of my room. She replied that she isn't allowed to go into guest rooms for safety rooms. Totally ignored my concern of having a mouse in my trash can. I can put you in another room. For what purpose?? So, I can encounter another mouse. While waiting in the lobby for a luggage rack, guess what scoots down the hall? Another frickin mouse. Told the front desk girl. She said oh really. Super nonchalant. Sounds like mice are the norm at this place. STAY AWAY!!!

Everything about the hotel was great. Shuttle service was great also. Only negative thing was nearby vacant building that brings homeless people. City of Houston needs to address this issue.

I liked the fact that the suite had a separate bedroom with a door that we could close. But the walls, the sofa sleeper, behind the toilet and the bathroom floor was dirty. The suite has 2 phones, but neither was working (they gave us a 10.00 discount for that), and the toilet was stopped up. I had to use my cell phone to call the front desk, spoke with Rudy, was told someone would be there in 5-10 minutes, it took 30-45 minutes, and he tried to give the plunger to me. Also there was food underneath the sofa. I think that someone should go behind the cleaning ladies, maybe a supervisor to make sure they are doing a great job, and deep clean those rooms once a month, and please provide extra tissue and paper towels, my husband had to go to the front desk for more. Finally, no matter where your hotel is located, (area, city), it should be held to the same standards and every guest should expect to receive excellence. After all, we are paying for it.

All the time, the elevators and some areas smell like smoking areas, and not only tabbaco. The microwave did not work. The drain water come into the dishwasher.

Great room, big and nice. The only "downside" was that the hotel is on a side of town where I was not exactly feeling safe at night as a woman.

I booked my hotel a week in advance for a football tournament. We drove 3 and a half hours with my family 2 toddlers and a infant. When we got to the hotel we were informed that we no longer had a reservation for a room for the weekend. We never received a call or an email to inform us that our reservation was canceled due to no more rooms being available. The service was rude and none of the employees were helpful and couldn’t explain to us how our room was giving away. This was an inconvenience to me and my family being that we were unable to get another room to accommodate us and our travel to Houston, due to the rodeo being in town. We slept in the car for the first night, and ended up having to get a hotel further out.

Room smelled like cat urine, bed uncomfortable. We were getting settled in our room when matinence guy knock before we could open door he tried to let himself in , luckily I had the chain on door and he couldn't open it all the way. Toilet didn't work properly.

Cons: Bed was uncomfortable and hard and we had to ask for multiple remotes because the volume and channels was not working went and got another remote and that one did not turn the tv off nor was the volume working on that one lucky we didn't spend a lot of time in the room watching tv, also if you come in late at night be prepared to park in the back and you have to walk around so be careful luckily my husband was with me.

I was unimpressed that this hotel only had 3 carts to take stuff up or down to your car. We left in early morning and no carts to be found. Had to make 2 trips to bring our stuff down to car. Hotel needs to make guests bring down the carts when done with them not keep them in their room.

We stayed here after attending an Astros game. The hotel was further away from Minutemaid Park than I thought. The beds were not comfortable and the hotel rooms are outdated. The price was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

Nothing, the room is very dirty. The walls are very dirty and stained. There were bed bugs and animals walking on the wall. Extremely disappointed.

Unfortunately, during the late night, I had a very unpleasant experience which was completely unexpected in light of how clean and well maintained the room and the property were. However, because the hotel staff was so understanding, responsive, and immediately appropriately compensatory to my inconvenience, I decided not to discuss the specifics of my experience, or post pics. I believe the incident was an aberration, not likely to occur to other guests, and I still recommend that you book here.

My problem was with how noisy the plumbing was. Everytime someone in a room above me flushed it sounded like thunder in my first floor room. Unfortunately for me my neighbors were early risers.

My only complaint and it happens is that the fire alarm went off at 11:30 p.m. They said it was a glitch, I think someone was probably smoking in their room. Other then that it was all excellent.

I was disappointed by the recliners in the rooms. The vinyl upholstery on the chairs in both rooms was peeling off, and left brown flakes on our arms and hands. The chair in one room was very hard to close, and there chair in the other room became stuck in the open position, and we could not close it. It was alright though, no deal breaker.

I like the amenities offered but the room could have been cleaner. The carpet was a mess and we moved a chair in the room and it had all kind of things under it.

This hotel was not clean. The floors were dirty. There was dirt on the floors. Dirt in the elevator and dirt on the floors in the snack area. The hotel smelled bad. The staff was friendly. The horel looked nice on the outside but not clean on the inside.
