The room had a musty smell. Like it had been sitting for a while. Other than that everything was good.

The noise was around 3am was the only issue I had during my stay. The hotel is beautiful, staff was very professional, and location was centrally located to all of my ventures while visiting the city.

Beware this hotel conducts bait and switch with lodging fees. Manager refused to honor the quoted price, increased it by $100 A night; also refused the elderly couple after me the AAA discount. I asked several guests their rates for the same night which ranged from $120 to $250. This is the second Marriott to do bait and switch.

The staff was pleasant, the room clean and comfortable. The one drawback is all of the construction in the area, this has been going for a long time.

Facilities were great but front desk manager was on a power trip. Forget about asking her about a breakdown of room charges, she will yell at you. I’ll choose a different Marriott next time.

Great hotel have stayed there many times. Always friendly staff and clean rooms. Only issue this time is construction on I-10 which goes on 24/7 right now. Our last night it sounded like someone was knocking on our door all night long. Hotel did leave a pair of complimentary ear plugs on the night stand!

Easy check-in/out. The rooms were clean and it was a good location if you’re exploring Houston.

The bed was pretty lumpy. I've stayed there before and never experienced an uncomfortable bed before. Everything else was good.

Customer service was great, and parking was easy. There’s a convenient restaurant on the grounds, and the candy at the counter during check-in and check-out was a nice touch. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets were fresh. The view of downtown was beautiful—especially at sunrise and sunset. I didn’t hear much noise from the freeway and slept very well.

It was a very nice hotel and quiet. The bartender was very friendly. The front desk receptionist was more into answering texts than helping guests, at least me. After having trouble with my cc working on the device and asking for help he was too busy answering and laughing at texts to help me. I just stood there until he was done, then he was a little annoyed at me after I tried what he originally told me and it didn't work. But he got over it as soon as he helped and I was able to leave him alone to his phone. It didn't appear others had issues so maybe it was just me or I interrupted his busy texting time.

Great just lack of parking

I also was not happy with the way the bed looked. Although I believe the sheets were fresh, they could have been put on before they were so wrinkled. Not an appealing sight.

The hotel and everything was very clean, no concern there. The issue was with how loud the AC was. We turned off the local unit to reduce the noise, but there is some general AC that you can't control (as they explained us at the reception), that was so loud it was simply ridiculous. When we complained, they told us there is nothing to do, and that all rooms are like that (even though we asked to check a few just in case and potentially change the room, but the receptionist didn't want to do it). Really bad experience, so we simply left after one night even though we had two nights booked.

This hotel is showing its age. Rooms are nothing special, and it doesn’t seem like anything has been updated in years. Most disappointing was the room’s air conditioning unit. It was very loud and would cycle on and off during the night, making it difficult to sleep. And the room would cycle between cold and hot depending on whether the unit was on or not. Bottom line — at this price point, there are better options.

Loved the room! Spacious and the loveseat was perfect for watching TV. Bathroom was large enough to handled both our toiletries at the same time.

I booked a suite at this hotel for the night before and after my wedding. I specifically told cleaning staff that my bridesmaids and I would be getting ready there and we would be leaving at 3pm. They told me they would clean my room after then and said it would be no problem. When my husband and I walked into the room was exactly how my bridesmaids and I had left it. The trash wasn’t taken out. The beds weren’t made. The towels weren’t changed. Bags of food we left to be taken were still there. The room smelled like food. Disappointing to say the least. When I called for a possible room switch, I was told there are no more rooms available and “it’s really crazy they didn’t clean your room I don’t know why they would do that.” I was also told that my husband and I could come and grab clean towels from downstairs. I was clearly upset, and left note of this with the front desk personnel the next morning and asked to speak with a manager, but they told me no one was on site and they would have someone reach out. Over a week later and that has yet to happen and Ofcourse they already took their money. Extremely disappointed with Courtyard and this location for how they treated us on our wedding night, which resulted in us cleaning our own room. Had it not been for how exhausted we were, we would have drove home. The best thing about this hotel was the convenience of location, but there is plenty of construction in the area making it difficult to find for some. Tread lightly.

Overall, i had a good stay. Very nice lady that served Starbucks in the morning. Clean safe facility. Only issue was the gentleman that checked us in wasn’t super friendly or informative. He didn’t explain the parking garage and it made it a challenge to get into the hotel after parking. A few seconds of explanation would have been helpful.

Would also like to have lotion in the rooms.

Clean, great neighborhood, loved our stay

One of the roads leading out from the hotel was blocked due to construction. A little noisy due to the highway nearby.

Room is made up only every other day - at these prices, should be every day with option to retain towels for sustainability. Our room wasn’t made up for our entire 3 night stay. The bistro is convenient and excellent. Great location for visiting in the Heights. We’ll be back but disappointed in the housekeeping.

Kudos to the front desk staff! I used to work in the casino/hotel industry for years and know that how your guests are treated upon arrival often sets the tone for the stay. The only personal concern I had was the mattress had no firmness left in it and for someone with a bad back, I definitely paid the price in the morning. Otherwise everything was spotless.

Very clean and comfortable! Great stay for the night. We were here for the Houston marathon. Only thing I wish check out was explained a little better, we just left our room key under a keyboard. No one was at the desk around 5:20am which is also to be expected. No overall complaints. Very comfy bed and again so so clean

The property was great and I would definitely stay at Courtyard by Marriott again as I find the standard across properties in different cities to be pretty consistent - I know what I’ll be getting. That said, I was upset to learn that my room would only be serviced every other day, not daily. Sadly, during my two night stay, my room was not serviced at all and I had to make my own bed and live with the pile of wet towels amassing in the corner of the bathroom. I hadn’t expected that.

Our daughter lives across the street from hotel. We parked at her house & walked across the street but Marriott charged us for parking on the property. We told them we were not parking at Marriott. The charge is not much - just the principle.

This is with a newborn and all his bags were waiting for them to give us the keys to the 3rd room and 20 minutes go by and nothing I head downstairs and the lady ask me if I got the keys I said no. She said she would comp us our parking pass and breakfast for one room I checked out today got my receipt and to our surprise got charged for parking and breakfast to our card.

We booked a king with sleeper sofa for 2 adults and our teen child. The king bed was terrible with a large dip one one side that was unavoidable. The sleeper sofa would not open to a flat position. We had a late night and just wanted to rest. Not wanting to switch rooms in the middle of the night - we decided to tough it out. Also the smoke detector flashed a very bright green light all night.

Property was great and great location

A little more than what we wanted to spend but it was worth it . Everything worked in the room , no issues with water or the bed or facilities . Parking is not included but you can park around the hotel . The most important thing was that we had a great two nights rest . No loud people , no paper walls and no plumbing noises or people slamming doors .
