Reviews
The hotel generally received positive reviews for its cleanliness, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. However, there were several complaints about issues with hot water, additional fees, and breakfast quality.
- Cleanliness

- Lack of hot water in some rooms
- Additional fees for parking and pets

Staff was good
- 5/5
Cleanliness of the property. Attendant should not leave the main desk even for a minute. It is important for me as I had seen guests were waiting and no employee was behind the desk.
- 5/5
Cleanliness. Sometimes staffs are not at the main desk. They should not leave the station even for a minute. This is important for me. Thanks.

The room I LOVED! The kitchenette mind you they have everything for you all you have to do is provide food you’d like to cook lol, Me and my family slept good the comfy beds we had the (one bedroom 2 queen beds) it was no noise very quiet security was also on site at night and after a certain time you will have to provide your room key to enter the building that’s a plus these days.. I can go on lol definitely recommend especially a family stay

Disappointed the basketball rim was hanging off. Many families brought a ball to play and it was basically unusable. May be don't promote it if its broken.

Staff at counter and breakfast area seem to take pride in service No complaints
- 5/5
Great kitchen, clean rooms. has an outdoor pool, exercise room and business center
- 5/5
The hotel itself was clean overall. The rooms were clean, public spaces including bathrooms, laundry and dining were all great. My biggest complaint is that housekeeping was every other day, which was fine. But then we would be out until 3 or 4pm and they still hadn’t come. By that time we needed to get ready for dinner or give our kids naps

Cleanliness and layout of the room
- 5/5
This hotel impressed me very much. The hotel was clean and startled me with the size and the price I paid. I was completely satisfied with it being near all other stores I wanted to visit. I totally recommend the area and hotel.
- 5/5
One of the towels had a make up stain on it

It was a very nice experience.
- 5/5
The staff were very kind and polite to each customer. The room was very clean and nice.
- 5/5
Excellent overall visit
- 4/5
This is a fairly basic hotel for those looking for a less expensive and longer-term stay. Very few restaurants or eati g options nearby. Room was clean and pleasant enough - limited breakfast options. Parking was great though.
- 5/5
Enjoyed everything about this hotel!! Easy and friendly check-in, beautiful and clean suite, the atmosphere was safe and secured. My family and I arrived back to the room after midnight once leaving an event and the security officer followed us; unasked to the door to ensure we entered safely. We were very appreciative of that gesture. Also, the complementary breakfast was fresh and delicious! N/A

We stayed at this hotel for family vacations in Houston, it was one of the best decisions of our trip. The hotel it’s located right in the middle of the main attractions and places to go in Houston. The rooms are incredibly nice, bed and room in general comfortable.

The room and property were clean and in a quiet safe area. I definitely would book at this hotel again. Have not been disappointed by Marriott locations yet.
- 1/5
Horrible
- 2.5/5
Staff were friendly and helpful. The AC in the room was leaking and the technician came in immediately to fix it up. The facilities are poorly maintained. The AC often stopped working at night and we had to keep turning it on. The AC was dirty and it had to be cleaned out by the technician. The bathrooms feel damp and the wall paper is peeling. Overall the rooms did not feel clean as the facilities are poorly maintained.
- 5/5
Great room layout
- 5/5
Great staff!! Good food!!!
- 5/5
Really nice hotel.
- 3/5

Very family friendly
- 5/5
The room was spacious, clean and perfect for what we needed while staying there. The rooms were quiet, and all the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying here next time we are in town.
- 5/5
I LOVED THE SIZE OF THE ROOM AND MY KIDS LOVED THE POOL PLUS THE BASKETBALL COURT. THEY WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY COULD NOT GET IN THE POOL BECAUSE IT WAS TOO COOL, BUT WE WILL RETURN DURING THE SUMMER SO THEY CAN GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY IT MORE. N/A

I travel frequently, around 50-60 times per year, and I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Houston West/Beltway 8 on Clay Rd from February 27, 2024, to March 3, 2024, in Room 138. It was a business trip. From the first day I checked into the hotel until the last day, there was no hot water. My colleague, who was in Room 139 next to mine, also experienced this issue. These rooms are designated for people with special needs, and I'm unsure if the lack of hot water is related to this. Despite informing the reception, the only solution provided was a spray to mask the odor when I discovered my sofa reeked of urine. It was only on the last day when I raised my voice that they offered me the option to shower in a different room. Consequently, this will be my final stay at this location and possibly within the entire Marriott chain in Houston.
- 3/5
I booked a pet friendly hotel on Expedia and when I arrived at the hotel with my small dog, they charged me a $100 non-refundable pet “cleaning” fee. I was not happy, especially for the fact that I am a Titanium Elite Member and my pet is cleaner than most people. The front desk could have cared less that I was a TE member and she wouldn’t let me earn my points since I booked the hotel through Expedia where it looked like I wouldn’t have non-refundable pet depasit.I won’t be staying here again.
- 5/5
The entire hotel experience was amazing! The hotel exceeded our expectations. The breakfast served the best food and the staff was so friendly and help.
- 5/5
Only issue is big noise in the room!
- 4/5
So great to have two bedrooms! Spotlessly clean, but some furniture is showing wear & tear.
- 5/5
Clean, roomy, and quiet suites with friendly, helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Pool was dirty and all BBQ pits were not working
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, huge room and reasonably priced.
- 5/5
The room was great and the hotel was very nice. Lots of space for breakfast and good options to choose from. The pool was nice, but really over crowded the first night and then too dirty from that to use the next day.
- 5/5
Comfy beds.

I love Residence Inn, this one especially very clean queit and cheerful staff willing to help at anytime
- 5/5
I loved this hotel. They were very friendly and the set up was excellent. Only thing housekeeping didn’t come to the room to clean or bring towels but otherwise I really enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Friendly staff welcoming and breakfast was good as well clean and neat
- 4/5
Property is clean. Surrounding area is not good. I had gone only by the ratings online and when we arrived wished I had researched the area. We drove in late and picked up pizza from a local place which was still open. Breakfast was poor for a Residence inn. The drinking water was super chlorinated, boiled eggs tasted like had been refrigerated several days and the waffles were dry. The scrambled eggs and rest were ok. If you just need to spend a night in transit, it will work. Just figure out the restaurants before you drive in.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient. However, I checked in online and never did receive a text letting me know when our room was ready. Arrived at 2:30 and was refused check-in (30 mins early) even though the hotel was nowhere near full. Overall, would still stay.
- 3/5
Swimming pool out of Order every day just tell us tomorrow inspection will be done and we open the pool but unfortunately I have done full my vacation still pool out of service…. On part of this all is great…
- 5/5
I could not fine anything bad.
- 5/5
Friendly staff welcomed us and checked us in and out quickly and efficiently. Lobby was festive and the room was clean and well kept.
- 5/5
Awesome space for family of 6 💚 loved the kitchen very clean.
- 3/5
Asked for the clean towels for 3 times. For the family for 2 nights they put 2 large towels only. Everything was clean, large rooms.
- 5/5
Spacious and clean rooms. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. We stay at this property every time we are in town. Its great!!
- 5/5
I had a good time great place
- 5/5
Good use of space in the rooms. Cleanliness and privacy were prioritized. Service was excellent but breakfast was a bit of a let down.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 3/5
Our room itself was comfortable, but noisy. A lot of traffic noise and noise from other guess. The complimentary breakfast was awful. Also, we were told we would have fresh towels every 2 days and the trash removed, that never .
- 5/5
The staff is always GREAT & property is clean …. Will be back next year!
- 4/5
Breakfast was less than desirable, cold and didn’t seem fresh. Only had two bananas which were chosen by guests in front of me. Staff was friendly and the hotel was extremely clean and well cared for.
- 5/5
I only had breakfast there once and is no embassy suites breakfast but it was fast and well cooked. All of the staff is very friendly and attentive. I have returned to this place and will keep staying here. I definitely recommend this place.
- 5/5
The mgr at the Front desk, Chris, was awesome, Very friendly, welcoming and was absolutely cordial and polite to my parents whom I was checking in for a few days.
- 5/5
Nice. Fairly new property. Will book again in the future
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. The staff were amazing and friendly. Breakfast was good as well. The pool was great. My only complaint was that the the Wi-Fi in the room was very poor. The Smart TV kept buffering even after I restarted it. It was impossible to stream hardly anything. I eventually had to upgrade and pay for the better service. But I still loved the hotel.
- 5/5
Stared is very nice. Shower and products like shampoo, conditioner and body wash were exceptional. Need and pillows were perfect. My only complaint was the internet and tv. The signal on the top floor was bad and the TV kept buffering
- 3/5
Room was great, expect the tub/shower was tiny. Beds were very uncomfortable. Guy at the counter told us wrong breakfast time.
- 3/5
The property was OK the breakfast was terrible the area is pretty depressing.
- 1/5
We stayed due to work and was continently located. Well the security guard sitting in front on my truck and he saw nothing. Didn’t hear anything. But was extremely nervous. We turn the truck on and our catalytic converter has been stolen. Front desk could care less to come offer support. When you are from out town and don’t know where to town your truck have to make arrangements and your getting robbed in front of staff and pretty sure they know how this scam works. Now you have 6000 bill and this place has no care in the world. Don’t stay here
- 4/5
I would recommend this property and would definitely stay again. As life goes sometimes, we did have a few bumps in the road at this hotel but what I appreciated was the desire to listen and provide good customer service. The hotel offers access to services such as Netflix and Hulu but unfortunately, we were unable to get a good connection to these services during our stay. We watched regular tv which had a good selection but it would have been nice to be able to access the Netflix or Hulu. Also, we decided to stay an extra night and had to move to another room which was fine. However, there was a small ant problem (approx 10 ants) in the bathroom. Overall the two rooms we stayed in were very nice, spacious, and clean. Each room felt like a small apartment. We initially had a suite with two bedrooms with two bathrooms (stayed here for 3 nights) and then a suite with one bedroom, two beds, and one bathroom (for one night, this one had the ants). I am a Marriott member and was given points for my inconvenience without asking for anything after I shared the challenges I encountered. Nothing about the challenges we encountered would keep me from staying here again. Also, it is centrally located and only about a 20 - 25 minute drive to almost anywhere in Houston. Be aware there is a $7 per car/per day parking fee. Parking fees are common for hotels in Houston.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient
- 5/5
The parking was said to be free online and on the display in each room we stayed in but the front desk staff said that no one has ever complained about the 7 dollar parking fee. They didn't mention it was daily either or that there isn't anyone enforcing this actively because they don't have security and the lot is not gated or anything. But they have literally the cleanest rooms I have seen in hotels of this class, and it is a very well maintained hotel. The housekeeping staff was very nice and they were really the only people working that smiles the entire time I was there. Everyone with the exception of the younger of the two men I saw working there whose name I can't remember (the older one is clearly over 50 and I think he was an engineer, I had no interaction with him) and one of the front desk agents who I guess works only a few hours a week seemed very angry that they had a job in such a nice environment. From check in to check out every person who I had to speak with made me feel like I was not supposed to be in this hotel I was paying between 150 and 230 a night for. They got mad at me for extending the stay past noon when I had started the process at 10am every day. Their staff is quick to swipe your card and charge fees for things that they do not clearly tell you that you will be liable for. They are impatient and most of them seem to hate their jobs but that must be what it costs to maintain a property of this caliber. Safe and sound but no compassion.
- 5/5
It was great! I couldn't have been happier with my experience. Breakfast was amazing
- 4/5
Suite was very nice. Carpet was dirty on my arrival and there is some mold/mildew in the shower.
- 5/5
Ending up having to check in late at night, staff was willingly and available to check me in smoothly. If i had the the availability to check in online that would have been even more awesome!! Im definitely coming back.
- 5/5
Property is very close to Memorial City Mall and all the good restaurants. It was clean and fresh and staff was pleasant
- 5/5
Surprisingly nice and clean. Decent breakfast.
- 3/5
Staff member made a huge mistake with my room that it took over an hour with 4 room changes.
- 4/5
Staff not friendly or courteous. Called the front desk hardly ever an answer and when someone finally does it’s a bother and you just wish you had not called.
- 5/5
The property is CLEAN! No issues there and I have OCD. Staff was nice...no issues there.
- 4/5
Stayed in the 2 bedroom suite. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was complete (quality was ok, but good enough for a free breakfast) Pool area and basketball court was a great plus for the kids. We had our dog with us too.
- 5/5
It was beautiful and clean
- 5/5
The only issue I had was there were no pots in the room and because of evacuations it was hard to find some.
- 5/5
Loved the breakfast buffet and quiet hotel
- 5/5
Loved this hotel, staff was friendly and the overall stay was great!! I was able to cook my entire stay with the fully equipped kitchen!!
- 5/5
Everything was perfect and clean
- 4/5
Overall stay was ok because my room I had was had roaches. I woke up to to roaches on the countertop
- 5/5
Made my reservation using hotels.com and the experience was great ! Got to the hotel , told the front clerk my name and she had my room keys ready in less than 5 minutes! I will for sure be using this website in my next trips ! My pregnant wife loved her kindness and quickness as well !
- 4/5
Clean and quiet area
- 2/5
Hotel was completely out of bottled water. Did not like that you now have to pay for parking. They have their own lot so paying for parking makes no since. Also, common areas such as the lobby and outdoor patio closed at 9pm and staff said it was due to covid. Does covid only come out at night? Doesn’t add up to have an outdoor patio open during day but say you cannot sit at a table after 9pm. Also, wish that the market area sold beer since hotel does not have a bar.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful, hotel was very clean and this being our first hotel stay since beginning of pandemic we felt safe with the condition and cleanliness of the hotel. Rooms were comfortable and clean
- 5/5
No issues The corner one bedroom suite was great

MY EXPERIENCE COULD BE SUMMED UP IN ONE WORD: EMPATHY. Having empathy for the needs of all guests and not specifically a particular groups of people. My boyfriend and I were racially profiled and treated with the upmost disdain. We were subject to being kicked out due to not placing my incidentals card on file fast enough for the General Manager liking. We previously stayed the night before, and I planned to extend because I was not feeling well. The person at front desk called two times without any level of urgency. Mind you I wasn't feeling well at all, I went downstairs with my card in my hand to pay. I was met with a disapproving eye and the General Manager cancelling my reservations. Her response after I told her that I wasn't feeling but I'm a person that will always pay for incidentals. " You should have known to come down anyways, without having tell you".. This should be address because alienated a particular class of people based upon age, gender, race, disability is a cause for a discrimination suit. She even went as far as asking me "How long will it take you to move out, I need an estimated time now?" My boyfriend was already moving all of our belongings to the car without a cart. Discrimination of any kind should not be tolerated. Title VII of the Civil Acts specifically says so
- 5/5
Spacious rooms and very clean overall. Unfortunately, very understaffed…had to wait on receptionist because she had other duties, rooms only get service once a week (not weekends), and no towels were available at pool. Due to COVID, breakfast was also very limited, although we had expected, I think we are owed an honest expectation on behalf of the hotel-don’t promise what you can’t provide at the moment. Lastly, we went with family and getting in at 11:00 to find out that the room you reserved, with two months of anticipation, was no longer available was a sour way to start our stay.
- 4/5
Nice hotel… room had dust on furniture which was a bit irritating. But overall stay was nice. I would return
