Breakfast was awesome. All fresh and actually good for a complimentary breakfast…nothing pre-packaged, clean dining area & super friendly staff. Also, lots of parking! Very convenient location too! Few blocks to the beach & 5 minutes to the Mayo Clinic. We’ve stayed here many times before…and it remains our go to choice! Perhaps a cocktail at the pool would be nice…

This hotel seemed nice from the pictures online and even at first glance when stepping into the lobby and our room. After a full inspection minutes after walking into our room, I checked out the bathroom area (specially where the toilet and walk-in shower was) and it was not pleasant at all. The shower looked as if it needed to be completely redid and the outside had rust around it. The ceiling in the room has wads of hair and plastic on it and the room and entire floor we were on felt damp. For the few moments we stayed in the room, the bed was not something I’d want to sleep on for 3+ nights. The young lady at the front desk was very nice about the situation but I didn’t not feel comfortable sleeping there so I left.

Went for coffee the next morning and came back to our door not letting us in, went and reactivated the card-rude customer service from the female working making comments about how check out was “now” mind you, it was 8am, check out is noon. Went back to the room, the door still didn’t open, went back down and the female said “I’m not sure there is anything I can do” which is obviously unacceptable, our stuff was inside the room? Got the maintenance man after we didn’t accept that answer… the batteries were dead in the card reader… scheduled maintenance would’ve avoided all of this. We won’t be back. Poor maintenance management and poor customer service.

Great value for this price class. Spacious rooms and something I had never seen in a hotel - a chaise longue with an adjustable table for reading or writing. Coffee in room was terrible - coffee in breakfast room quite good. Breakfast good. People friendly.

Everything was above par for a renovated property, except for the FIBER FILLED MATTRESS. Very difficult to gain sleep unless you're exhausted. TOILET SEAT was excessively loose. Allow me to be clear, my body aches 2 days later after sleeping upon these fiber stuffed matttress. Change them out for a better sleep for patrons. Breakfast had fruits, waffles, bagels, yogurt. Plenty to satiate ones breakfast needs. However, overall I have had a better sleep at a Comfort Inn. I don't appreciate the known less than stellar mattress. Get rid of them. But if you're looking for the least expensive within 100 miles, this is it. Prices vary; do your research beforehand.

It was supposed to be a non-smoking room and it wreaked of cigarette smoke, cigarette burns all over most of the surfaces, the furniture looked water logged, most of the hard surfaces had suspicious burns, oil from skin was all over the head board and doors. We didn’t stay there long enough to know what the breakfast was like. The lady at the check in desk had me run out to my car 3 different times, looked me up and down when I brought her my fiancés card (which is the one on file anyway) and told me she had to see him too. The bed felt like cloth over springs. The bed frame was sticking out and my toddler hit his leg on it, causing an abrasion.

Okay, I stayed at this hotel before and it was amazing then. Traveling this time breakfast was amazing, things were clean, BUT the room was rough. There was a very obvious mildew smell in the room and it felt damp in there, and the staff we interacted with were not the nicest. Which was the polar opposite of what we expected the last stay

Really not many issues- it's a 3.5 star hotel. It was clean and the bathroom appeared updated. The bed was not good and our room didn't have a blackout curtain so the lights shined in our faces when we were in bed. The coffee downstairs was pretty good and the breakfast had some easy options - all in all not bad just nothing to write home about

We were moved to another room, but it also had issues—the sink was leaking and the shower water was extremely hot and difficult to adjust. The most frustrating part was checkout. Although checkout time is 12 PM, housekeeping knocked twice—once at 10 AM and again at 11 AM—which was very disturbing and inconvenient. Overall, not a pleasant stay despite the good location.

The room was clean, and the staff were pleasant. However, the room did have a slight damp or wet dog smell. Showers were very unpleasant since the water temperature on the second floor was either luke warm or scolding hot. Friends on the fifth floor did not have the same water temperature issue. Complimentary breakfast was a good experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

My son and I stayed at the hotel for a baseball tournament he was attending. When we arrived the hotel staff was very friendly and got us checked in very quickly. Unfortunately our first room had a very strong mildew smell and the floor was moist. The metal fixtures were also rusty and the room door was hard to open due to the frame rubbing against the door. We went downstairs and the staff was more than helpful in giving us a new room. We went to the new room, no smell, no moist floors, but the door was the same as the other. We had a tournament that night so we left and didn't think much of it. When we returned that night, it was late so we decided to take showers and go to bed. Unfortunately there was no shower curtain. I called the front desk and they brought us one and installed it withing the half hour. After that it was not too bad, except that our door would not open until after 2 times sliding our key. It wasn't too big of a deal, but if i was being chased by a killer, I may not be here now writing this review. They just need to upgrade the rooms a little and everything will be better.

The real issue was the manager on duty. She was condescending and patronizing, repeatedly answering me with l, high-pitched “YES, Ma’aaaaaam!” in response to simple questions. When I pointed it out, she only doubled down. Very poor leadership and customer service. Thankfully, the trainee, Eliza, handled the situation with professionalism and kindness. She apologized sincerely, processed my refund, and showed the kind of customer service her manager should learn from. I left and stayed at the Holiday Inn instead—much better experience.

I don't think I'll stay there again by choice. After giving us the keys, front desk agent informed us the hallway for our floor is warm because they are fixing the A/C but the rooms are air conditioned. That hallway smelled really musty and still did inside the room. We also didn’t have cold water so brushing my teeth and taking a shower was borderline painful. I reported this the next morning when we left hotel and they said they'll have maintenance check it out. We were gone all day and came back with no cold water still. Only after i texted hotel did they send someone up at 9pm! I don't know when service at Hamptons started plummeting but I will twice about booking here again. I might as well stay at Motel 6.

Hampton has just lost our business, and anyone who asks us about Hampton. We had to change rooms twice and then leave after the first night. The first room was damp, and the rug was wet from an AC leak. The hallway's AC was broken, and we were not informed about any issues the hotel was experiencing. After moving to another room, the fire alarm rang starting at 11 pm for 20-30 minutes, and continued to sound off every two hours. The staff said at the first alarm that it was a test, which was a lie. The alarms were random and continued to go off because the heat in the hallways was triggering the alarm so that any room could have this issue. IT WAS UNINHABITABLE. They tried to make us pay for the whole week we reserved, then, after finally refunding us, they charged us for (they said one night), the first night. A night that we did not sleep and the alarm woke us every two hours. They then charged us for THREE nights. When we called, they said they had accounting system issues. WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REFUND. THE MANAGEMENT WAS RUDE AND REFUSED TO ADMIT ANY WRONGDOING. How can the hotel even justify renting rooms in such condition? We are working with a corporation now and are still getting the run around.

The hotel hallway was hot and humid. The ac was not working. The rooms were so damp inside. We changed rooms because of the wetness of the first room and the second room was just as bad. The towels would not dry after using them and everything in the room felt wet. I had medication on the bedside table and it was damp and fell apart when I tried to take it. I can’t help but think this hotel has to be full of mold since it is so humid and damp. I advise people to stay away and stay somewhere else.

This room was rated in the high 80% but I would say that it was in the 40%. The staff was friendly but the room left a lot to be desired. The bathroom sink stopper had to be pulled up with your nails to empty out, tub drained very slow, I had to pull fridge out of cabinet to turn on, lampshade missing, sulfur smelling water, and high price per night for C/D rated room.

We had previously stayed at this hotel & it was okay. This time, the room was in great need of maintenance. The room was very damp which made the towels and sheets feel wet. The AC had broken parts laying on the floor underneath it. The worst part was that ceiling had moldy spots. Breakfast was very average and the coffee station in the lobby had cold coffee.

Unfortunately, my stay was very disappointing. When I arrived, there were no towels in the room. The entire space felt humid and had a strong smell of mold, making it very uncomfortable to relax or sleep. It clearly wasn't properly maintained or cleaned. Would not recommend until improvements are made.

We checked in and the ceiling was covered in a black mold-looking substance. The front desk said they were sold out, but would ‘wipe it down’. I asked for a refund and booked another place. They said there wasn’t anyone there authorized to refund the room…hotels.com also wouldn’t refund the room until the hotel manager came back to work to authorize it. So I’m still waiting to find out if I’ll get my money back. I do have thorough videos of the situation, and documentation of the online chats and phone calls to Hilton. I’ve never seen a Hampton inn so poorly kept and I’ve stayed in them all over the United States.

I don't expect much out of more-than-reasonably-priced hotels - you get what you pay for and I understand that. But c'mon.... front end folks, at least *pretend* to be friendly. Worst service I've seen and/or experienced at a hotel and I travel a lot. The rooms smell musty (putting it kindly); and I say rooms because not only mine, but another couple I overheard complaining about it while waiting for my ride in the lobby. My sink wouldn't drain, the refrigerator sounded like it was about to explode, shower hooks in the bathroom halfway pulled out of the wall, hair all over the bathroom floor and in the shower, stains on almost every wall in the bathroom. Maybe my experience was an anomaly but I would sure recommend spending the extra $10 a night and staying elsewhere.

Although it wasn’t terrible and the location was good, I don’t think I’d stay there again. Not dirty exactly but kind of shabby. Needs a complete overhaul. Water smelled and almost felt slimy. A hotel was packed. I booked a disability room because I had had spine surgery at Mayo 4 weeks prior and couldn't use a bathtub. The bathroom was great. Walk in shower. Grab bars if I needed them. A nice selection of soaps. I did ding it one star. The room smelled very musty, damp. I left my stuff went downstairs. And the receptionist said we're booked. There are no other rooms but I'll send maintenance to your room ASAP. Maintenance was at my room before I got there. He walked in and said immediately this room's damp. But he got down on his hands and knees. we didn't find any damp areas. He brought some kind of ionizer. I don't know if it made a difference or if I just slowly got used to it. But I didn't even notice it in the morning. Plus the ionizer made a soft fan noise. Like. They also were having trouble with the TVs. The channels were all in a different order than the guide. The receptionist said it was DirecTV and there was nothing she could do about it. Most of the channels were there. Just not where they should be. But no weather channel at all. I was amazed at how quiet the place was. It was full of children and dogs. I saw them in the hallway. But didn't hear anything when doors were closed. Storm was not bad. I canceled the second day. Hampton cancel the charge!

I checked the regular rates (weekends included) which are about $80-$110 yet they charged $170 during the hurricane. Expedia's site lists the pet fee as $50 but onsite they stated it was actually $75 plus tax. Price gauging aside, the shower in the bathroom was dirty with hair and had mold on the ceiling, there was a broken dresser that exposed live wiring and the room smelled like cigarettes. Since it was unsafe to return home and we did not have a place to go, we asked to extend the reservation by one night which was quoted even higher and carried an additional pet fee. When we asked if the extra pet fee could be waived due to the circumstances (although it's supposed to be $75 for a 1-4 day stay and we were only booked for one night) they said no because it was a "separate booking". Positives: the area has nearby dining and grocery stores, the breakfast was fine and the lobby was clean. We talked to other evacuees there who shared a very similar experience the consensus is that such a lack of empathy from the establishment during a state emergency was not only disappointing but very disheartening. The hotel was maybe acceptable but based on principle alone, I'd never stay here again.
