Star Island Resort and Club

My stay was nice this is always our place of choice when we’re in Orlando. I was a little frustrated with the check in but the staff is always willing to help. Parking would be my only complaint. But other than that our stay is always pleasant.

At first glance, the property feels dated, but it does appear to be generally well maintained. Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected the stay. The sheets had visible stains, and the air conditioning was not working properly. While staff did offer to move us to another room, it was late in our stay and we were already preparing to check out the next day. Overall, I would rate the experience a 6.5 out of 10.

Everything was okay , but the first time I stayed there the staff walked in my room 9am thinking no one was there . My second stay I got a room where it was leaking water . I complained and they said it will be fixed but no one came to check . I checked out and complained again and they said sorry but nothing complimentary for my troubles or anything . Now I went for a third time with my family again and the main room because we got a suite the AC was not working . I called early morning to see if we can have a late check out at least an hour and front seat was not polite at all and said no . The Resort was nice but these things make you think about coming back . The security at the entrance of the hotel , the gate the one in the afternoon shift very nice , very respectful and such a great person . Good welcoming and customer service , they need to give that man a raise . Can’t complain about the staff .

Hair in the bathtubs from last guest ask for a 3 bedroom but was only 3 beds needed separate rooms for everyone. Had a pull out couch that couldn’t use because with my condition can’t sleep on them .

The resort is nice and clean. I like how big the rooms were and the mini golf was fun. I didn't like that we were suposed to check in at 4 and the rooms were not ready until 5pm.

Location, pools The couple that was in the room next to us was fighting and I called the front desk and the staff said they didnt have any security guard available and they would call the room to talk to them which was unsafe for us. Then the fight escalated and I called the police and they went but the lady denied a fight, she said it was only an argument, the cops didn’t do anything about it and left those people there. Then I called the front desk again to let them know we wanted to change rooms. I was with my daughter (14 y/o), and a friend of her . Then we had to leave the room with those people there knowing that I had called the police. Which was unsafe for us. Safety has to be prioritized on the property, and it was not. I won’t recommend this hotel to anybody, and we are not coming back again. This was our second time there.

I went for two days and my stay was absolutely wonderful. My family had a wonderful time. Our room was very clean, the staff were great, I didn't drink at the bar but it looked nice. The hot tub in our room had dirt come out of the pumps so we did not use it. That was the only problem. We enjoyed the pools and the hot tub near the pools though. All in all it was great. We will return soon.

I use this property often when visiting Kissimmee. The space is excellent and the price is unbeatable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The family and I always enjoy our stay and it’s located close to many great shops. Karaoke was fun, drinks at the bar were great and the pool area was nice to enjoy!

Security guards were exceptional though!

Love coming here with my family got the 3 bedroom villages and it was worth every penny my kids love this place

My room had a leak in the ceiling of our bathroom which leaked all over our toiletries and the hotel staff only offered a 25 credit to use only at the property and to move room once we moved rooms there was bugs in the second room and only offered to clean the room

The resort itself was very clean and the amenities were nice, which is why I gave high ratings in those areas. However, my experience with the staff was disappointing. Several staff members came across as unwelcoming and made me feel uncomfortable during my stay. I also did not appreciate staff speaking directly to children at the splash pad instead of respectfully addressing the parents. Hospitality and guest interaction could definitely be improved.

This place is horrible staff is horrible, security is horrible, property is old n dirty, bathroom leaks heavy, neighbors played loud music all day security said they couldn't do anything. The a/c was loud we couldn't here the tv. This place is ghetto. The shower curtain came from Walmart not traditional curve curtain like most hotels. Icing on cake was Christopher Cruz manager said there was nothing he could do because I paid through Expedia.

As always, we had a really really good time. This is our go to place and we love it. Everything about it the porch the pool the hot tub. It’s like a little home in one and the people here are so friendly and nice and if you wanna get a couples massage for like an anniversary or something, this is the place to go to, and by the way, the bartender she has been there like forever. She is amazing. I don’t know her name, but Vanessa checked us in and she did a very good job explaining everything thank you star Island will be back.

This is my second time staying here and I am going back in July! It is super clean, the staff are so nice, the pools are amazing and it's 15 minutes from Disney!

Everything was nice. The kids enjoyed the hotel very much We wish we would of known the grills were charcoal. We went shopping and spent so much on food which we had to trash because we were driving(road trip). Other than that all ameneties were great. Pool area big enough for all.

The room was good. The only complaint I have was the knats in the bathroom. And spider in the tub.

Umm, not what I expected. Resort is a bit of a stretch. Room was VERY outdated and small. My daughter enjoyed thebpool and the staff were okay. Likely would not stay here again

Everything was great..the hot was very good for the sore bones .I do have to mantion that our shower in the master room had a hole from water spraying on it coming from the shower head.

Everything was great besides checking out. Honestly checking procedures should be told when we check in so a lot can be avoided. I tried calling front desk a million one times and was put on hold just as much. It was getting very frustrating especially since check out was nearing , all I wanted to know what had to be done for check out. And then I did not want to leave the room , go all the way to front desk since my building was all the way in the back, to have to come back to do whatever it was they required . It was very much a hassle and very frustrating. About 10 mins before I had to check out they finally responded. So we had to rush to gather all the trash and throw all the dishes in the washer

Then finally deposited one hold then took it back. Now waiting on the second reversal deposit. Not happy that this happened. Other than that we had a nice stay. We had two adjoining rooms both very nice. Noisy on the one side guest above partied most of the night were very loud above us. Plus they took their party to the balcony. Chairs moving around loudly.

I have always stayed here for years. Ive kept coming back because of the amenities, the pool, and the rooms. However, the room this time was upsetting. The floor was was dirty and dusty and the room had several flies flying around with one stuck dead on a tissue box. The rooms door needed adjustment as it will sound everytime the air shut off and on due to the pressure causing me to wake up several times overnight. Lastly, the pump from the toilet needs a replacement. Water running all night nonstop. I had to get up and shut off the water valve and turn it back on in the morning. Sad!

Rented a three bedroom and was placed in a room with one bedroom and a living room and then outside our room was a short hallway with another door with another room that had two other bedrooms without living room. Who in the world would think that its okay to have your children in a whole seperate sleeping area? I would absolutley never recommend this place.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pull out bed was very hard. Didn't like the bushes in front of the patios blocking wild life views. I didn't like the only bathroom being in the bedroom.

The shower was dirty. There was hair and visible dirt in the shower. The hot tub was dirty I got in at 1 am, so I didn’t even call the front desk I just went out and bout cleaning supplies. Also we had 2 huge lizards in our room. The furniture is so nasty I didn’t want to sit on it. The bed smelled like a person had been in it already. My check-in process was easy, but not so friendly. I was looking to extend my stay for one more night, and I was told to go online to book. Staff just wasn’t as friendly as I expected.

The resort was very pretty and the room was clean my only complaint is the bed. I booked a mini suite and upon check in was told I was being moved to a room w one bed to better accommodate us since it was only one night. The bed was a full size bed and I’m 7 months pregnant and sharing w my husband. I was hard as bricks and super uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep all night. The room was hot as well. Lovely place aesthetically but I would not stat again.

My room wasn't up to standard looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile and had some pinkish stains on the pillow hair everywhere could of been a lot cleaner

We were honeymooners going here for the first time. We didn’t know anything about it in advance when we walked in to our hotel room. We were so surprised at how space it was and clean and gorgeous. We ended up booking an extra day now just to quickly get through the parts that were a little troubling the jets in the hot tub outside weren’t fully functional the jets in our Jacuzzi in our bedroom. we’re not fully functional and a couple of the fountains walking in were also on the fritz. Did it ruin our good time absolutely not the room we got was in the 14 building on the second floor highly recommend it as you get a good view of the pond below with alligators turtle and fish. You also see the Poulin can hear the lively action at the bar now if you are going to be there for a quiet time I would not recommend getting something near the bar as the music did resonate through the properties. I don’t think it would be a huge issue. The other thing to be known is that there are no elevators so you do have to carry your bags we didn’t know that going in a big, but for people that may have mobility things in the way it might not work for you. We had such a great time. Anything I’ve mentioned that might seem negative was far out weed by the experience we had the staff at the front desk was awesome and the pool was beautiful. We couldn’t believe the large game room they had and the outdoor area as well with cornhole and life-size chess. The best thing of all was the affordability. go!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Entire property was clean and well maintained. Starter packet in the rooms is a plus. Nice having essentials there when you arrive. Only negative I saw was the automatic adding of service fees/gratuity to bar and restaurant purchases.

The property was close to everything. I called down to ask for new towels and I called twice. I waited a total of 31/2 hours and the towels were a no show. So I canceled them.

Clean room, but musty odor. AC set a 72 auto, short cycle and not cool enough to slee. Uncomfortable beds. Deli breakfast poor quality and overpriced. Otherwise great amenities for kids and family. Local resident stayed over a night for my kid tennis tournament!

bar was not well stocked but drinks were great. hot tubr are not well heated. but on hot days its not a worry you have to fangle the handle for hot water or turnheat in room for hot water to kick in. other that i had a great time here the food or burgers are so good here at the market and everything is reasonable priced should have more bar and restraunts here at this resort.

The air do not work in my unit I told the manger he said he would send someone and never did, they said they could not send more towels they would have to charge me $7 additional for each. The phone did not work and my sheets were dirty. And it smelt like mold

There was garbage stacked up in the hallways for days and smelt and looked disgusting , our apartment on the ground floor flooded we had over an inch of water come in and no one came by till the next day To help us move out. All we were offered for the inconvienience was $25 credit to spend at the stores on the site

This our go to hotel when in Orando, Rooms are spacious, nice balconies, amenities are wonderful. Best place on Hwy 192 in our opinion, Everything was great. No complaints

Great spacious rooms- loved the pool area and the food was great too!!! Really close to everything. It’s a bit outdated but perfect for families and large group. Everything was clean our only issue was not having blankets or pillows for the pull out couch. Also, parking wasn’t great, hard to park far from my room.

The fact I requested a ground level floor and wasn't able to get one. However when I arrived early I was told I was in a building that had an elevator and would receive a text when it was ready I never received the text when I went back to see about my room it was in a building on the 3rd floor without an elevator. I kinda had to throw a fit to get a different room and was told I needed to confirm before checking in because it wasn't in the notes mind you I had already been there and was told I was in the building with the elevator. Besides that everything else was great.

After I checked in, I was immediately roped into trying out one of those timeshare seminars where you sit for two hours during a sales page, then after I was firm on that booking set appointment. I went to my room to see a slightly dusty and completely outdated room set up, furniture, everything. Just expected more from the resort charging $300 a night.

Expedia, says this property, has 3 bedroom villas, they are not 3 BEDROOMS, they are 3BEDS, not 3 separate rooms. Was a great property!

If you can get past that, then on a positive note, the property has a very nice pool and tennis area with a nice bar and great atmosphere. They even had live music on the nights we were there. It also has a very nice convenience store on the premises. The staff in this convenience store was very friendly and helpful, and the store offers lots of great options like coffees and sandwiches, etc..

The room was great for the price and the cleanliness of the room was decent. My only complaint would be the floors weren't as clean as they could have been. Aside from that everything was awesome. The fully stocked kitchen was very nice to have. The staff is great and very responsive. Amenities were nice as well. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

I’ve stayed at this resort many times and have always been happy. However my last stay was a little disappointing. The room I as given did not have an elevator and I had friends in town with a disability ( which made it hard for my guest). We were not able to get a different room.

Beautiful property. Security screens anyone entering the premises so it feels very safe inside. We had a super frustrating experience with our room unfortunately. The room above us leaked through our ceiling and it started peeling all over the floor. We literally had to talk to the front desk every single day we were there to get maintenance to come twice, to find us a new room at maintenance’s request so they could fix the leak, to fix our key cards because they didn’t get set up right when we moved rooms. And just attitude from the phone operator any time we called like it was our fault this happened. We were offered a $25 bar credit for our troubles, only after we asked for some kind of compensation - which doesn’t really make up for the amount of time spent calling them, moving rooms, etc. they also offered us late checkout but then never updated our key cards so we got locked out and had to call security to get back in. Just not a fun time there, which is sad because it really could be a neat place.

Room was a bit outdated. The bathtub was very deep and hard to get into it. Most staff were very friendly but the bingo lady was rude. I didnt like the fact that there was an extra 200.00 charge when i got there that they didnt tell me about when booking. Also had to pay 15.00 a day just to have them empty trash a bring clean towels. A lot of hidden charges.

The floors in our unit 2255 were dirty. The bottoms of our feet and socks were black. There was a kids tooth on floor under dining room table. Bath in master was dirty had hair and dirt in it. We had to clean it before using. We had to wash pan and dishes before using as they were greasy. 2 of 3 beds were hard like laying on the floor. We have stayed at star island many times, however we will be looking else where from now on.

The pool and gym were great. The jacuzzi tub and shower were not clean and the water pressure was very weak. Hot water did not even last long enough to fill the tub. Fixtures are outdated. But it was a nice stay and there's a washer and dryer in the room which was convenient. It was ok for the price but could use some updates.

I noticed star island is looking a little run down. I understand wyndham pulled out of star island now. Are you guys folding? Your not putting money into the place. Played bingo and the poor lady had to run the whole thing herself. Collect monies and call. Totally ridiculous! Not sure I would want to come back.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The resort is beautiful and we paid a decent average price considering how big it is. The view from our room was amazing, we woke up everyday with bright sunny mornings. The room was pretty clean which I was surprised, because I saw some reviews mentioning how the rooms weren’t clean. The staff is also very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and have great memories of this place now. We didn’t have time to go to the pool or spa since we only stayed for 4 days and only went to the Disney parks. I did see a lot of people enjoying it and definitely enjoying the bar too. This resort seems good for big families too. The location is also perfect if you’re planning to go to the Disney parks. There are many options of attractions not too far from the hotel. Maybe only about 10-30min to each attractions.

The room was clean, very dated, but spacious. We played the golf course with the larger size ball and putter, the course was loaded with leaves and it was hard to get the balls to move through.

Door has problem card keys doesn’t work I spent 1 hour back and forth to the customer service desk and no one were open to help

It was all good except the fact that it didn’t have elevators. We were there for 3 nights and attending a wedding near by and had big suitcases and had to carry them to 3rd floor. Had I known there are no elevators, I would have asked for low floors

The towels appeared to have already been used and the rooms were not clean, including the bathrooms, showers, The blow dryer actually blew up while being used, and the shower rack was not securely attached to the wall it almost fell on my child, which is a serious safety hazard. When this was brought to the front desk’s attention, they did not seem concerned and only offered a voucher. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and I will not be staying here again. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I feel like the staff should walk you to your building or room when you check in because the place is so big that i literally got lost a few times especially at night. The buildings all look the same and there is no lighting on the bumbers.

The suite was very clean,with a nice open floor plan. The staff has excellent customer service. Location is ideal for anyone going to Disney.

Clean, big rooms!! My shower only had cold water. Front desk employees seemed like they could care less we were there but the bartender and kareoke dj were excellent!

Room was clean with all amenities included. We had a full kitchen which had a fridge, a dishwasher, a stove, a blender, pots, plates and utensils. It also had a washer and dryer which they provided soap for as well. Overall, would recommend!

Hot tub wasn’t working properly and seen a roach in the room.

The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable. The room needed to be deep cleaned. The noise level from the unit above us was so loud. Definitely would not stay here again.

I booked a 3 bedroom villa suite. It was actually a 2 bedroom and because the kitchen in Suite A had a door and sofa bed it was considered a bedroom. I expected a normal 3 bedroom as your competitors have given me in the past. When I called the front desk to ask I was given this answer in a rude tone. I will not consider this resort in the future when looking for 3 bedroom villas. Other than that we really liked the cleanliness and safety and easy parking. The resort is beautiful. The only problem I had was the uncomfortable kitchen/bedroom sofa bed.

Checkin took a long time. The room is just ok. Spacious but, the some of lights and fan do not work.

Very nice place to stay and definitely reasonably priced. The girl at the front desk was not the nicest. And the woman who was requesting we do a timeshare visit at a Sister resort was way too pushy.

The property has a good welcoming layout with the spacious apartments and kitchen and plenty of parking. My only concern was the rushed check-in by the staff. Did not bother to ask if I had any questions? Or elaborate on check out process such as the cleaning fee.

Stayed here for a week with my family in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit. Spacious unit but outdated and needs a lot of TLC. Very dusty in the unit especially the floors. To me it seems that the resort spends a lot of time on the upkeep of the grounds and not the buildings itself. Other than that it served its purpose.

Fabulous resort, great staff and plenty to do there. Amenities were fantastic!!!! I will definitely go there again.

Everything was awesome. Except the fact we were woke up at around 630 am by a ridiculously loud air blower that seemed to be in the same spot reving over and over for a sold 30 min if not longer.

I loved this hotel! I was staying at another hotel, checked out and selected this property for the remainder of my stay. There’s security at the entrance to ensure that who is arriving belongs there, there were beautiful Christmas decorations on the property and the rooms were immaculate. The only concern I had was the conjoined doors. The guests next to us kept attempting to open the door from the other side, sounding like a potential intruder and waking us up. Other than that, the experience was fabulous.

At check-in there was a $200 deposit that was not disclosed when booking the room. As well as the fact they are saying it will be a week before my deposit is placed back in there. I feel this is something that should be on your website as well as there’s stating the deposit being $200 opposed to the $100 that I have paid in the past at other establishments.

The room was booked for 3 bedrooms and it was literally 2 bedrooms and the third was a living room with a pull out couch. The room smell like mold and it was outdated.

Everything was great

Air conditioning was fine. Room was clean. Beds made a lot of noise throughout the night. Even the master bed squeaked just as loud as the sofa bed. Also there was a faucet leak in the tub that leaked onto the floor of the bathroom.

Room was clean but the at 7am we were woken up by banging and tools and then informed there was a leak in the room under us and was believed to be from the ac. They were quick tho to accommodate us in another room and a 50$ credit for the inconvenience to use at their bar, deli or towards a massage. Was very satisfied at the end even with the inconvenience.

The shower door wouldn't close, the toilet room door wouldn't close, toilet seet was loose and the ice maker made maybe 20 cubes for the whole weekend. We LOVED the stay! Only reason telling what was wrong is so maintenance would know.

Only critique would be the room temp could not be set below 70. Otherwise the resort fully met my expectations.

I found the property in really bad conditions

The property was well maintained. The staff were attentive and helpful.

Arrived to a room without air conditioning. After contacting the front desk. It took them over 2 hours with an extremely insufferable, rude, and nasty attitude to remedy the situation. We could hear them snickering and talking sh$t as they gave us the run around for hours. I’ve never been more disgusted in my life with customer service/staff of any establishment in my life. If I wasn’t a civilized, grown up, with children. I would have thrown hands.

Rooms need to be remodeled as they are really old and in bad condition, specially the bathrooms.

The property is beautiful when you arrive. The front desk seemed a little confused at check in and it took a long time to get our room key. The suite was very large but the decor was very outdated. Very disappointed that the hot tub in our room was not capable of filling up with warm water. Maintenance did look at and said that it’s a constant issue. The pools were very clean and nice. The property was nice, rooms were clean. However maintenance was horrible. We had no hot water in the shower and smoke detectors had no batteries and was beeping all night. They need to do a better job at maintaining the units.

The rooms are outdated. The tv in the bedroom was the old original wire flat screens and the volume was low. The main is the staff. Most were on their phones , talking amongst each other and are very blunt and bland when they “helped you.”

If you book through Expedia the property doesn’t guarantee what you are told you will get. We thought we had laundry in our room which was important as we have a large family but we didn’t get it. Instead we had to use broken washers and dryers on the main floor which was difficult to do as we were on holidays. The staff didn’t care when we complained. Fresh towels are $7 each time if you want them. It is a party resort so expect to be kept up all hours of the night. We could hear our neighbours above usuntil 2am

Onsite deli that was like a mini grocery store and a poolside bar! The spa was everything and it even has a game room and poolside activities for the children with live entertainment.

We always stay here when visiting Orlando/Kissimmee. Suites are very spacious and comfortable. Location is convenient and the pool is nice. Great for families too

We weren’t able to sleep well because we were up killing ants all night The office sent someone to spray but it didn’t help the issue The place desperately needs upgrades. Everything is outdated. EVERYTHING!!!!!

The one positive I did see is that they do have an entertainment staff that keeps events going on like Bingo and Karaoke. It makes for a fun stay. It also keeps to stay busy and not be in the filthy rooms.

I loved the gym, needs the a/c fixed. The rooms were amazing and very clean! Going to go back again.

The customer service was impeccable, the room was spacious and amazing! The only thing I didn’t like was seeing two roaches in the kitchen I had to shake out my luggage to be sure I didn’t bring any home. Now I know it’s visitors who come and bring roaches but it has to be something that could be done to stop the issue before it gets out of hand.

What unique thing about the property or that could be changed is that the numbers of each building could be at high level and at night the numbers should be fluorescent so they are easily seen by your patron. They need to be at high level somewhere more than just on the building but in several different places so if you're walking, you won't miss your building thank you

Location was not too far from Disney or food, but did not like staying here otherwise.

Spacious and clean. Obvious wear and tear on the furniture but didn’t affect our stay. Our upstairs neighbors were very inconsiderate. At midnight we had no choice but to make a complaint and they were quick to try and resolve it. If you have a choice, I would recommend staying on a top floor as the walls and floors are thin.

I rent the room for 2 days when we came in to the room the mirror from the jacuzzi was not clean the shower was dirty as well we ask for extra towels they said was $7 dollars per towel we will never come back to this location

I have stayed here many times and always had a great experience but this stay my wife and I had to deal with a knotting sound coming from the toilet all night. It's wasn't a great experience.

I have stayed here multiple times. It is always a great experience.

Security gate that you must check in at was a big plus for us! We were on the first floor so we were able to walk around right out our back door, also big plus for us. The jacuzzi tub needed to be cleaned once we turned the jets on. But for the price and that being our only complaint, we will most likely be back again.
