Cute little place for a overnite stay.

After checking in, went to room and couldn’t believe this place was even posted on your sight. Looked like a crack house. Old and dirty. You should be ashamed for even posting. Did not stay requested a reimbursement to card. Haven’t gotten it yet. I will be putting my credit card people on it. Will not pay!!!

Typical old Florida motel, with nostalgic ambiance. Not very well maintained, but no real problems. Free breakfast was very limited, but eggs and sausage were cooked to order.

His place was disgusting- in disrepair , split door frame- dirty room floors, , walls, no plates or silverware or hair dryer despite what is shown on website, free breakfast- sausage, egg, toast every day, no tea or milk . only coffee and one day not opened due to illness but no sign posted. , room not cleaned one day ,

They are very run down, poorly maintained rooms, you must pay for your breakfast, no internet and the tv did not work, smoke alarm beeped all night long. Great if you are a drunk group looking to crash next to the beach. As location was the only plus about this place. But not for a sober traveler looking for a good nights sleep!!!!!

This is an inexpensive motel. A little run-down but a very economical. I like the old school decor. We stayed in the Earnest Hemingway room. Missed the breakfast because we left early.

We left as soon as we walked in and they kindly refunded us. The place had a horrible smell and we felt very unsafe. The sheets had stains. My daughter looked in the bathroom and said I am not showering. It was run down and ditry.

Very "original" hotel with nice landscaping. Very safe as the front gates close and lock at 11 pm for the entire night. Extremely economical. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable, has satellite tv and good ac. Overall a pleasant experience.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this "mom & pop" budget motel. Not fancy or updated but the room was clean, the AC cold, the shower hot, and the breakfast was delicious. The owner and staff were super friendly.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel. I considered leaving after the first night but it was a work trip and I was only sleeping there. The cleanliness of the room was disappointing. Stains on the walls and every touch surface. I had to wear shoes at all times as the floor was sticky and turned the bottom of my feet brown. There were times I was worried about my safety as I was cat called in the parking lot and had to ask a staff member if I was safe there. If you are a female staying alone this hotel is not recommended for so many reasons!

Staff friendly. It's in need of some updates. Need to mention that it's a shared rental property and motel. Pool area in disarray looked like it was unusable. I guess overall for the price you get what you pay for .

After one look at the room, we opted not to stay there. They also did not have a room that I had requested. The room reeked of smoke and the place was in disrepair and dirty. I was happy that the owner did give me a full refund.

The owners are sweethearts and have been staples there for decades , they made our stay so nice , it's close to the beach , I intercoastal I 95 and all the cool shops and restaurants downtown lake Worth

Well to say the least it was a 2 star motel the beds were awful the pillows as flat as pancakes - the door lock was loose and the gap was about 1/2” very scary.

How do I count the ways? Room had sticky floors and the toilet was minted to the floor, the bath window fixed closed. The staff did fix the tv and brought a workable iron, the bed was comfortable.

Room was dirty, floor had not been washed, no extra toilet paper, shower was dirty, fridge didn't keep things cold, TV kept freezing, pool was dirty. They advertise breakfast was included, but you had to pay. Advertised as a restaurant, but it was JUST breakfast. Furniture in room looked like something grandma's yard sale sold. Old and daded and not clean looking. Check in process tool more than 30 minutes, for a 1 night stay.

Very friendly staff, free tasty cooked breakfast and comfortable bed! The rest of the room not so good. The sink was stopped up, the corners of the room were dirty, the table was sticky and nothing to eat within safe walking distance. Very dated!

The bugs

It was dirty and much more outdated than pictured. Half the blinds were broken in our room, providing essentially no privacy whatsoever. And it was freezing cold in the room.

The window in the bathroom was broken out with a garage bag covering only part of it.There were high winds and temps tires in the 20s.Toilet leaked all over the floor from the bottom.No heat in room and air from bathroom window filled room.Shower curtain only held up by 3-4 hooks.Towels were nasty looking and too cold in there to shower.Office claimed they did not know any of this.Very poor condition for the price.Door did not close tight and cold air came in all around.Was not worth even one forth of price.Feel I need a refund.We could not find another hotel near there.

Everybody from beginning to end was horrible

The room badly needed renovation, and the beds were not at all comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was served on a screened porch, which was not pleasant due to temperatures in the 40s. However, the owner was very gracious in allowing us a refund when we decided to move to a different hotel.

The room was squalid, mold in the bathroom. Shower leaked all night. Breakfast was disgusting. There was no juice or milk or cream for the coffee. No hot water for tea.

Hair balls were in my sheets, we had to sleep on our own blanket on top of the quilt, had white socks on and they were almost black after one night of walking in the room, moved coffee table and nothing but hair, bugs and spilled coffee stains on the floor. Shower had no showerhead and water comes out boiling hot, you could burn your skin. Advertised as a pretty, clean, and cool motel and reality is a dirty, no coolness motel and is a very low budget motel. Don't fake people into thinking its a nice place. Oh, it has a manual TV, so old, it could not view movies without freezing screen every 3 seconds, then you have to get up out of bed to turn channel, change sound or turn on/off. Remote is not linked to TV. Did not sleep much because bed has a Plastic lining, so loud every time you move you hear a crunch, really plastic lining? What the heck, was I in a baby's room? Paid for 2 beds and we got 1 bed. Sad it cost $151 for 1 night.

I did not realize until we left that there are bed bugs. We have bites on the back of our necks and side of face. The place it self isnt horrible i think its just more of a place for locals than for people going on vacation. It served its purpose to have a place to sleep.

Room is OK good value for the price. I guess room is somewhat clean. Could’ve cleaned the floors a little better and they should change their floor mats which are filthy simple fix otherwise a good stay for the price.

Interesting historic motel

I appreciated the free breakfast offered each morning. The lady cooking over the weekend was kind and they make your eggs to order. As far as location, it is only a mile or so to Lake Worth Beach. There is a sidewalk that goes all the way to the beach if you don't mind the walk. If not, it's just a few minutes drive to the parking lot near the beach. It's also just a few minutes to the onramp to I-95 to get where you need to go fast. My only complaint was that I had some trouble using my keycard to open my room and the front gate. The staff was very responsive if you just call them on the phone and let them know what you need and they will help you with it. Bottom line for me, is that the price is right and it is in an excellent location. Face it, if you're looking for a low-cost motel in South Florida, you will be hard-pressed to find anything at a lower cost and better value than this place.

The staff are wonderful, but the room and such leave a lot to be desired. I had to turn the TV off by unplugging it because the DirectTV buttons did not operate the TV, just changed channels. (I also couldn't adjust the volume on it.) The room was dingy, and the bed rather uncomfortable. The only reason I didn't give this one star is because the staff was so friendly.

Room was ok.. needs deep cleaning and updated.. I didn’t have breakfast but my niece did and it looked nice.. made to order and free. I did see two roaches (yuck) but the staff (the maid was the cook also-she was very pleasant) . It was close to the port so it was fine. Nice neighbors too in the next room. Didn’t get to swim.. just slept and left.

Great nostalgic hotel! Family run, takes great pride in keeping everything clean. They had a bench outside every door so you could sit and smoke, with ashtrays…smoked pretty late at night and by 7:00am it was emptied and cleaned. Pool looked nice but didn’t get a chance to use it. It was a very low price hotel so I wasn’t expecting them to come make the beds while we were gone …nice to come back to a clean room. Breakfast is $5 for people not booking online, I thought I was lied to about free breakfast but they gave it to me for free because I booked online…so we tipped then and they were so grateful for the kind gesture. Fresh real scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast with butter and jelly! A little homey with a soft soap dispenser by the sink like the one you buy for your home instead of those small wrapped hotel soaps…this added to the charm of the place, old furniture but well maintained and very non commercial looking… loved the very non traditional looking room!! Felt very safe, no noise, no questionable looking people hanging around. Not perfect, so if having an over sized giant tv, and typical hotel decor if important to you, stay somewhere commercial like big chains. The people were very accommodating, will stay there again!

For the budgeted travelers like me I recommend. The place is a bit older but clean and quiet. The area the hotel is in is safe, clean, and quiet. The man at the front desk was very warm and welcomeing. My room was spacious and had the basic amenities including a fridge and microwave. The place has a pool, and a parking lot. The beach, restaurants, stores, and bars and everything else is near. The airport is like 15 minutes away. They also serve breakfast. I enjoyed my stay here I would definitely return and recommend for the solo traveler or groups of all ages.

I go to check in and the front desk gentleman was nice however no handicap rooms were available and told me he didn’t want to “kick anyone out.” But I couldn’t stay in the room I was provided. People kept walking past my door and my door wouldn’t lock.

Drawbacks: there is no elevator (if you are on the second floor) and the WIFI needs updating. We would probably return.

I am in town visiting and I didn’t arrive to the motel until around 11:30 at night. Did you leave it at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. I will go the next morning to their breakfast, which is homemade by a very sweet lady who catered to me hand and foot. Housekeeping did a great job and keeping my room clean and make sure I had towels and everything I needed. I give it a 5 ⭐️ rating!

Need a renovation

This was one of the worst motels I have ever stayed in. Room was dirty and everything was old and mismatched. There were bugs on the floor. Anyone walking by the hallway could see into our room which made me feel unsafe.

The pool is not heated apparently the heater is broken. There are no chairs to sit outside your room to get away from the smell of cigarettes.

This is a classic roach motel. The room was dingy and there was a bed sheet covering the stain filled couch. There was a huge hole in the bathroom vanity and it smelled like smoke. I had to use a whole can of Lysol do disinfect the bed and pillows. I would never stay here again.

The bed kIng size bed was broken it leaned on one side and no matter how i slept on the other side of the bed i kept falling on the othe t side of the bed that had a bad lean on the other side of the bed i reported it to management and his response was that it wasn't that bad and continue to flip the sheets on the bed other than that everything else was ok

Great Stay

Enjoyed a peaceful night’s rest upstairs in room 25 Greta Garbo. Spacious room with 2 firm but comfy double beds, air con to keep us cool; in addition to a microwave and fridge, a toaster and a hand held shower rose (the only accommodation we stayed in travelling across 14 states that had these extras). Although old and dated, our room was comfortable with no bugs. This room is also partly sheltered from the sun with a block trellis and tree outside which is a bonus. The man at reception was lovely. Plenty of parking. Would stay again.

For a last minute low priced room, this was a cut above the rest. The grounds were peaceful looking and there were many improvements in my room. There were, though, the usual patched areas with no paint, and a TV which went bonkers the second I changed the channel. I spent an hour on that TV and never did get it to work again. Such frustration...

Was running away from the hurricane in Sarasota, turned out 20 tornadoes were near us, but luckily never got to us. Safe harbor nice park along the water and great restaurants at night about mile and half away downtown!

Muke and staff are top of the line. Beds are like a cloud to sleep on. Rooms are very roomy,cozy and clean. The pool is perfect for these hot FL days and there's also a bbq area for the grilling enthusiasts. Quiet neighborhood to get away from the busy daily life traffic. All and all a perfect getaway for any occasion

New SunGate is 2nd to none in my eyes. Always accommodating, peaceful and serene atmosphere. Staff treat you like family. Very inviting stay to say the least Walking distance to intercoast and Lake Worth beach. Pool is at your front door to cool off in our FL sunshine. If you are a TV/Movie buff,this is the spot for you as well. Rooms are themed after major stars. Its always a surprise walking in to see the decor. Give it a stay and you'll return. Just like myself

New SunGate is my go to for any stay in Lake Worth. Great staff and atmosphere. If your looking for a quiet,peaceful stay while in town,this is the place. The pool is right at your front door and the bbq area is steps away to have a little family gathering or your own grilling spot. Housekeepers are very nice and attend the rooms with love and care. Overall great motel to stay. At least stay once and see for yourself.

I can't recommend the New Sun Gate enough. Originally booked for a week to give me time to check out other properties in the area, ended up booking for three weeks so far. Housekeeping staff is wonderful. Mike in the office is responsive, amiable, and concerned about guest satisfaction. Large, clean room. Clean and cute pool area. Only issue I’ve come across is occassionally spotty WiFi. Great deal for a great stay. If they had monthly rates, I would stay for a year.
