Staff was nice Cigarette burn holes on sheets in non smoking room, toilet did not flush properly, very sketchy characters hanging outside rooms all night

There was burn marks in our comforter and we was supposed to be in a non smoking room.

Cons: very unreliable internet for 7 full days !!!! This is very important for business travelers.

Room was great! However, strange (Creepy) guy was obviously living at hotel and was cooking in the parking lot. When we got out of vehicle he immediately tried to come up and start taking to me and my wife. Made her very uncomfortable. Happened a couple of time while going to the ice/vending machines.I actually had to have words with the guy..We wound up leaving early...

Room was clean enough. Toilet valve was sticking and had to be manually triggered. TV had a 1980's lack of definition in the flat screen. Pool was not operational. Parking was great, right in front of my door.

Staff is always excellent. The rooms are comfortable, but there were BED BUGS!! I got ate up and had to leave in the middle of the early morning. I did not arrive until 12pm, then had to leave because of the bugs! BED BUGS!!

no selections, warm milk, one cereal. pool not operational, wifi slow and disconnects all the time. Floor has not been scrubbed in a long time. Socks were soiled after not wearing shoes in room. Had to wear shoes continuously.

The web site offered late checkout, but the receptionist informed me that was not the case and see how the hotel was being manages...I rescinded that idea anyway. I had to re-key the door key several times. Bathtub had cigarette burns as if it was a smoker's room and I requested non-smokers. Sheet/spread and comforter had what arrears to be cigarette burns through them. Pool "Falsely" advertised with an awesome image and a great selling point for staying there, but not available. Great location for food and access to Lancaster itself...This hotel has great possibilities!

Easy check in.

My stay at Super 8 Lancaster wasn't as good as I had hoped for. The reason why we booked this hotel was for the amminaty such as a working pool. When traveling with children they needed something to do while the adults prepared for the upcoming event. Needless to say they didn't have a working pool and there website showed a beautiful working pool. I inquired about the pool and all I got was an I'm sorry. Nevertheless I will not be staying at this hotel again anytime soon

it was a nice stay until me and my bf had a neighbor who was throwing stuff at the walls and beating on hus girl bc he caught her cheating . overall nice stay .

The front desk was really nice and breakfast had a decent selection, the room had burn holes in the blankets but I got a smoking room so that was expected

I had two roaches run across my nightstand on my three night stay. There was an old blood stain on the bed sheets. The shower and sink drained very slowly. I had to ask for more Kleenex and toilet paper.

Great location for food and shopping,very clean , if ever traveling in this direction we will check in again.

One of our rooms had bugs which one of my employees was bitten by. I told the night manager and he apologized. After we checked out a Manager called me claiming we had taken a hand towel and was going to charge us for it. I explained what I had told the night manager, she dismissed it saying she only saw one black ant in the room. She was more concerned about a $5.00 towel than the bug incident. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

The room looked very dated. It was on the first floor so safety was a concern. But the bed was surprisingly comfy and qe got a good nights sleep.

Really enjoyed our stay this weekend! We were in town for a family event, and booked the king suite. We were very pleased with how roomy it was! Hotel was clean & staff was great! Only improvement I could suggest is maybe an adjustable height showerhead for us extra tall people. 😁

The person at check-in was difficult and not very nice. We booked a non-smoking room but it reeked of cigarette smoke. The bedding was stained and ripped. The room was not clean, including pubic hair on the toilet seat. Shady people hanging around the hotel. This felt like a rundown, unsafe place to stay, probably the worst we’ve ever stayed at. Shocking that Hotels.com had it rated so high, very misleading. Will be checking other review sites before booking a property in the future.

The staff member at check in was friendly. The room had enough space and was updated. The pool was closed which was disappointing. The breakfast was toast, cereal and bagels but we ended up at the Waffle House across the road.

It was clean and the room was nice. The beds were good. The mattress was firm and slept very good. There was no carpet on the floors and I like that a lot. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

The quietness

Our room had 2 queen beds, but only one bed was made each day after housekeeping came through. We found it odd but funny. The drain for our shower did not drain well so we were standing in water after every shower. I know this is outside of the hotel’s control but we did have some noisy guests that stayed up way too late drinking and talking in the parking. When we woke up the next morning we discovered the cover to our truck opened. Nothing was taken. Over all it was average.

It was good. The beds were more comfortable than the last hotel I stayed at. It was clean. Needs to be painted and updated around the tub and the bathroom door. Other than that it was good.

Horrible experience. My problems started the second I got to the hotel. They gave me a non-smoking room, that smelt like a bucket of cigarettes.I went to the desk and the lady said she could just sorry the room . At this point it was to late to reserve somewhere else. So we said okay , next we started to eat our dinner and cockroaches started crawling out of every wall . Absolutely disgusting and I took a picture of them all . I go to the office no one is there . I go back to the room and I go again half an hour later and they sorry that down as well. At this point they said they would comp my night . We left the first thing the next morning sleeping in raid . Never book at this place ! Absolutely atrocious!

Location was perfect for the city of Lancaster. Everything you need was within a few miles. Staff was friendly and helpful. For an older hotel, it was well maintained. The bedding was clean but old and had holes. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

I was only in room to sleep

I was in a nonsmoking room, yet the bedspread was filled with cigarette hole burns and so was the blanket. The shower had a drip that was constant and annoying when trying to sleep. Staff was so friendly but hotel is in pretty bad shape.

The front desk people were great to work with and very friendly. The room I stayed in needed work. The door would not open all the way without getting stuck on the floor and would not close automatically and that is a safety issue. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked really bad if I had not put towel down they would have cut my feet. There was water damage to the wall behind the toilet. Just in overall need maintenance. The sheets on the bed were really low quality. And a $25 cash deposit at time of check in is really odd. That was not mentioned on hotel’s or even super 8 website. Overall will never stay there again.

Stains on sheets and worst of all roaches

When we got our key, it took 3 attempts for them to get the key to work. When finally getting in the room, we immediately turned the key back in due to bed bugs in the room and stayed elsewhere. They didn't really react when my husband told them about the bugs, which makes it seem like they were already aware.

Front staff very nice and welcoming, I enjoyed the breakfast and coffee.

There were many cockroaches in our room. We had cookies under our mattresses behind the nightstand there was nasty trash and the refrigerator had leftover drinks for my previous visitor as well as mold and had not been cleaned

Old motel, had to stay there because was the only place in town. Check in area was tiny room separated from the attendant separated by what appeared to be bulletproof glass. My beadspread in the room had 2 cigarette hole burns. The toilet seat had ashes on it when I checked in. At best it's an old yucky motel that needs 'Love' as far as fixing up.

One of the worst travel experiences imaginable. Clearly a seedy area and a seedy motel. Unless you’re a drug dealer avoid this motel at all costs

Dirty, filthy and noisy. Room 202, the bed had a actual hole of sort, mattress material, missing from most of the right side of bed. When I say most of the right side, it was a massive hole in the mattress. Other residents were on walk area speaking loud on the phone well after 1 am. Fridge did not work, as well as TV had very limited, 5 channels, which worked. Overall terrible stay.

I usually never have a problem at this property being that I come here 3 times a yr but this visit was probably my last. The new clerk has a attitude and customer service issues fix it super8

Good start for the price

The room was filthy. And honestly based on the obvious things that weren’t cleaned I didn’t bother to say any to the staff because it was clear they didn’t care. I went to the store and purchased bedding and cleaning products for my 2 day stay to attend a funeral.

Horrible!!! It was loud outside my room all night. Someone knocked on my door at 12:30am and then wiggled my door knob at 1am. The rooms smelled. The beds sheets and blankets had burn holes in them. Never again. Drive 20 mins to Rock Hill.

That is very small hotel, and it is not in very good shape. The blankets had holes from cigarettes. Moldy smell. Traces of leakage on ceiling. Not clean towels and bathroom. There was smell of weed all around. Strange people were walking and speaking/screaming loudly all night. Somebody run and knock at doors. Very sketchy atmosphere.

I had two rooms. The first room, which was 123, was Fri. The other room was 125. That room had bedbugs. It went very badly.

Made reservations on my hotels.com account a few weeks before my weekend stay. Do the hotels see how many adults and children when reserving? The hotel message me in regards to my preferences due to my injury on left knee. So why did they not message me about their policy of not issuing a king bed for 2 adults one child. I assume my reservation was ok. So when checking in I was told I had to get a two bed and pay 25.00 deposit due to no 2 bed on smoking.Both females at the front desk this day was so rude and instead of trying to work out in a friendly state or at least with respect. Guess because I look Hispanic which I’m not they were really giving me a hard tim especially for someone who is disabled. Not sure who they spoke to if it is their manager but yes I wanted to call the manager head manager or whoever owned the hotel. There was a line waiting and yes I said is it because I’m brown that they treat me this way? Never had such a hard time at the reservation desk( front desk) with any other hotels just this. I will never make another reservation at the Super 8 in Lancaster SC. It’s not worth the 181 I paid for and they want to charge another 25 dollars cash which I don’t carry cash. Be sure to carry cash when booking at super 8. DHEC ISNT DOING THEIR JOB!

The front desk lady was rude. She seemed like she hated her job and would’ve rather been anywhere but there. We were in town to set up funeral arrangements and this location was closest to my cousins house. We were made to seem like more of an inconvenience.

Pleasantly surprised on cleanliness and cleaned daily. Staff very friendly but realize this is older property that won't be perfect. Old staining on ceiling and bad leak in shower. No other issues to appearances kept well for age.

I made a mistake

Lancaster only has a couple hotels and my Mom had stayed at this hotel years and years ago and said it was a nice clean hotel and that’s why we went there. My mom and I neither one could sleep, worrying about the bugs and then being upset about my Grandfather’s death but after being at the hotel for four hours we decided to leave. We thought it would be cleaner and safer to sleep in the car then to stay at this hotel but instead we drove the three hours back home and returned the next day. We didn’t realize that across the street was a Quality Inn that we stayed at for the next few nights that was a wonderful hotel. If you have to stay in Lancaster I would definitely recommend Quality Inn. They have brand new mattresses and they are totally remodeling the hotel and the hotel staff were wonderful, not to mention they have the softest pillows I’ve ever felt but be sure and ask for extra because their pillows are really small. At night they have so many bright lights outside you think if you walk outside at night that it’s daylight it’s so bright. I chatted with Travelocity online and told them the situation with hotel 8 and they tried to talk to them about giving me a refund or a partial refund and they told them no as well.

Front desk personal was very very friendly and soooo sweet to me. She explained bery detail about the hotel and reward pts. I will be staying here everytime i come from Pennsylvania. 7 times a year!!!!

Coming in lady at front desk seemed to very unwelcoming and rude. Room was filthy and unclean. In need of new paint, carpeting and just an update all around. Busy location so the road was very audible. That can’t be helped though. Not a lot of amenities except a coffee station in the morning and vending. I felt really not able to mention anything because staff in general didn’t seem to care. On my last few days I did see a cockroach and that is a concern. Really wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

I have never seen such a horrible hotel room in my entire life!!! It was dirty and smelled disgusting. The sheets and covers had burnt holes even though it was a non smoking room. There were tiny roaches in the tub and walls. The pillows smelled like sweat. I used a pair of jeans and a pillow instead and did dare to use the covers. Since there was no other place to go and it was so very late we had to stay but non of us really rested because it was so uncomfortable being there. I even tried to go buy pillows and sheets but Walmart was closed!!
