Carpet was tearing up in our room, and we had ants and shower leaked when turned off so the bathroom floor was wet by morning. I didn’t let them know they had ants that ruined our snacks because they didn’t let us know their pool has been out of commission for 2 months. Beds and pillows were comfortable, and staff was nice, but definitely would have chose a cheaper hotel with a working pool.

The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Public bathroom downstairs had a clogged sink so right off the bat we were a bit turned off. When we got our room the “automatic” rolling blinds were completely broken and stuck in the down position. No way to raise them at all. Bathroom floor was oily and slick. The AC was so noisy while it was on. We ended up going somewhere else so we didn’t spend the night here. At the very least it was a safe and newer property completely overpriced for what you got.

Great place to stay

Those 2 groups had to take less quality rooms on the top floors. When we came back to our the second night there was a large roach in the floor near the refrigerator i told the guy at the front desk about it and he gave me a card to the General Manager and said call her. I figured she would care as much about the customes as he did so t threw the card in the trash.

We got to our room, it was as described and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast had a great selection of eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, and assorted fruit, yogurt and pastries. We stayed 3 nights and they did not clean our room. We did not put the sign out to not clean it and I was a little disappointed in that service. We left at 3 in the morning to check out we had a very early flight and again we ran into Heath. He did not say good morning how can I help you nothing. I stated we needed to check out and his reply was well I am in the middle of something so you will have to wait. Again so rude! I have stayed at this hotel many times, but would think twice before staying here again.

The worst Hot Breakfast. While the breakfast sandwiches were in a heated buffet server, they were not warm. The sandwiches were cold and there was no way for guests to heat them. The oatmeal was as thick as school paste and very little in the pot at 8:00 a.m.. The only other item which could be considered warm was pancakes and the machine was not working. The coffee was even terrible, even though it is made by individual cups.

The breakfast menu is fresh, but we do not get your experience in pancakes because they had the pancake machine shut down

As others have said, the breakfast was amazing. I also very much was grateful for the small food store in the hotel, saving me a late-night trip out after a late arrival. My only gripe was that the lighting in the room was super harsh and unadjustable, not relaxing and conducive to rest. Overall, the staff was great. I would stay here again.

This hotel is pet friendly, and even had a welcome gift for my dog. The location is beautiful with the rolling hills and vineyards. The property is well maintained and clean. I will definitely return.

The bathroom was filthy; the shower had a lot of black mold and dirt on the walls, and the sink was also dirty with stains of grime. The pillows smelled of sweat. It's a shame because the staff was very polite and friendly. If we hadn't arrived so late at night and there weren't any other hotels available, we would have left this hotel immediately!

I like the winery in the property, it is a small hotel, friendly staff special the gentleman at the front desk during the day, most hilton hotels you can check in before 3 but this hotel didnt have an available room, I know it is hard because it is small hotel but I would have love to get a room or a place to store my suitcase. Hitels needs to work on keeing the rooms a bit cleaner. The shower needs cleaning, it has mold in some areas. Perhaps have golf cards to go from the hotel to the weedi to venue would be great or have a transportation service to the wedding venue so people dont have to drive there.

The first night I get there, my pillow had, what looked like blood on it. The day we checked out I seen a roach on the wall. Emailed the manager but didn’t get a response. Staff was nice but that’s about it.

The views of the winery are so beautiful!! Highly recommend this hotel and definitely Childress Winery awesome place! Best winery I've ever seen!!

The property is gorgeous and staff were kind. The room itself was not well cleaned before we arrived. There was an earring on the floor, the floor in the bathroom was dirty, and there were tissues stuffed into the peephole by a previous guest.

I like the location of the property easy access off the interstate very convenient the staff as well

I came in during the dark hours and could not find the light switches. I had to use my phone flashlight to figure that out as I did not want to have to ask. I finally found them around where the lights were located - not just one on the wall. Usually the beds are extremely comfortable but this one was a little soft and I did not sleep as well. But this is a one-time thing and I did not get what I normally get. It was busy with a wedding party so it was pretty full. I love staying there - it's the only one for me.

Make it a stop for sure again hoping to time it for a wine tasting

The bed was too soft. The breakfast needs to be improved. One day the eggs were dried out, the next day they were okay. The cinnamon rolls were awesome. The toilet paper holder was falling apart and I fixed it, but it required using tools that I happened to have with me. It needs a more permanent fix.

Property was fine but it seems like hotels are pulling more and more every chance they get. I bought 3 quarts of ice cream from the hotel counter for the kids and got up stairs to see that the fridge doesn't have a freezer. Mini fridge fine but at least spend the extra 20$ for the freezer. The shower head was old and corroded so it sprayed out of the shower all over the floor until I stuck a pin in it. We paid for the breakfast option for both days even though we were leaving at 1am so I could sleep a could of hours before getting on the road and the host at the counter told me that the kids couldn't have a grab and go bag with the muffin because we weren't premier members. What a joke

Not so good. Suite was over priced and although it was large, their was a lot missing to make it the kind of suite that they were charging for

They double charged me and still yet to get my money back like they said I would. Otherwise it wasn't a bad hotel. The lady just didn't know how to fix anything at the front desk. Also, our air-conditioning unit sounded like it was going to blow up all night

We booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool, even though it was further from the venue we were in town for. When we arrived we asked where the pool is located and they told us the pool is not working now, that a part is being fixed and it will be down for 10 weeks. Disappointing because this was going to be the highlight of the trip for my kids.

I love this hotel the staff is always friendly. This time tad different. Pool for 2nd stay in a row was not able to be used. Website did not state such, its closed til probably July this time. When I asked about it upon checkin the man who was behind counter with desk person seemed irritated of asking. He wasn't very customer friendly. The desk person was great! Would've been nice had they noted it and I could've used a sister location. Still clean and quiet.But may not return to that location

We decided to stay here because of the indoor pool. We were in town for a baseball tournament and after games it’s refreshing to swim but it was closed. The ice machine on our floor was broken. The bathroom door in our room didn’t close and lock. We complained about people above us being really loud and was told by the man at the desk, it might be ghosts in a condescending way. Just one thing after another at this place. Should’ve stayed somewhere else.

This is the only place that I feel safe to stay when I visit this area. All employees are very nice and helpful. I've always been impressed by this property.

Googled this site and was touting as pet friendly. Found out it is not cat friendly. We were slammed with 70 dollars and that cat must be confined the whole stay. They should have said dog friendly only instead. Disappointed!

Easy access to nearby local restaurants, gas stations, downtown, church

This is perfectly located in Childress Vineyards and views are tranquil and stunning. Very close to other vineyards like Native Vines and Weathervane which are fun to visit. Bed and pillows were super confortable. Very disappointed that breakfast was not available as expected due to someone calling out that morning. Highly recommend for location!

We have stayed at this hotel before and enjoy it. The staff is very friendly and helpful and overall it's clean with a good breakfast, convenient parking and a beautiful setting. However our visit this time was less than great. Our window shade fell off the roller while we were away, which was a little odd, but most concerning was the mattress on one bed had a very strong smell of urine :( It was late when we went to bed so I ended up sleeping in the other bed with my sister rather than changing rooms but hopefully the staff has replaced or thoroughly cleaned this mattress. Otherwise great hotel.

This was a wonderfully clean and beautifully remodeled holiday inn. I was very happy with my recent stay. My only “complaint” was that there were no bars restaurants nearby besides the vineyard. But not an issue for the hotel itself!!

One thing to be aware of is there are not many dining options nearby. We drove into Salisbury to find a steakhouse.

Close to the vineyard and highway

I travel for grandchildren and this will be the only hotel I stay in from here out. Breakfast was really good. I've stayed twice now and the staff is super friendly. No one walks past without acknowledgement. I love it here

Room was very comfortable. Location was convenient and was supposedly recently renovated. However the room had a strange smell. We didn’t notice it upon checking in, but definitely noticed it when returning from dinner. Overall and ok stay.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Had a small issue in room upon checkin where a spot was missed upon cleaning. The lady working front desk immediately took care of it and had no issues past that point. Itll be my go to place to stay in future

We stayed here to attend a festival. It was a great home base with easy access.

No TV movie guide or instructions but everything else is great. Pool was open and wonderful.

The door to the room had locked get showing from the hall all the way around it. A wedding party, very large one, reveled in the hall until 1:30 am which made it difficult to sleep well for the noise. While this was no fault of the hotel, maybe some thought could be given to sound proofing the doors to the rooms.

Property was nice. Nice choice for breakfast, but didn't eat because there are so many awesome places to eat breakfast in Lexington. Pool was nice, but water was really cold. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed two non-consecutive nights and we absolutely loved it. Everything was clean and comfortable, the view from the back was spectacular, the kids loved the warm indoor pool area, the breakfast was adequate, with numerous options, the mattresses were comfortable, the location was great. We have no complaints.

Next door to Childress Vineyards. Staff was great. Was able to check in early.

I will always stay here when visiting the Winston Salem area. It is beautiful, clean, quiet, and the bed is especially comfortable. It is obviously a very popular place to stay as if you don't make reservations in advance, you may not get a room at all. It is currently March and I am thinking about making my Christmas reservations now.

Love the room we stayed in! Balcony was cool... best view!!! There was an issue with cold coming thru the balcony door but either than that the room was spacious and comfortable.

We stayed here while visifo3family in the area. It is a quiet place to stay. No crowd at all. Breakfast was good.

Overall a nice stay, however the only reason we booked the hotel was for the swimming pool...which was closed for our entire stay. Additionally, the pancake making machine was out of order, and none of the breakfast food was labeled. Not completely ideal for folks with certain allergies, but I'm sure if I would asked, they would know so I'm not complaining on this piece, just calling it out as an opportunity. Speaking of opportunity, the breakfast was a bit of a let down. Biscuits were overdone the first morning, burnt the second morning. Bacon was charred to be almost unrecognizable. And the eggs also burnt and stale? I was at breakfast at 8am, not 10am which is when it is served until, how is it burnt and stale by then? The gym was luckily open and outside of 15lb dumbbells missing, everything worked fine. I enjoyed the staff as they were easily approachable, they didnt have any floss available which seemed odd, but again not the end of the world. Most us can live a night or two without it. Pleasant stay, would probably go back - if the pool were to open.

The 2 nights would have been excellent except for the room next door which became party central for a group of people staying at the hotel. I called the front desk both nights asking (and this was at 11 pm) for security to come up and stop the party. They didn't. I asked after the first night to be moved and they said no room available even though the hotel was not full!

Our room was never cleaned or refreshed with towels for a 4 night scheduled stay. Front desk said they only cleaned rooms every 3 days but we'd not been informed upon check-in. We normally keep DO NOT DISTURB on our door for a number of reasons but check in with housekeeping when they are in the hall. Was told by their staff our room was designated as marked out "not to be cleaned" because they only clean rooms every 5 days.. Front desk said they'd send next day cleaning which never arrived. Pink and black mold in shower and tracks, dirty tile room entry way. 2 thin towels, bathcloths and hand towels in bath. November 23rd but housekeeping had placed A/C on 65 and fan run and thermostat malfunctioned. We did manage to get emergency heat switch to work intermittently until maintenance came Thanksgiving morning and was able to correct. Lights not functioning in portico check in area so very dark when trying to unload cars at night or pickup from front door. Very pleasant check-in staff, decent breakfast service, etc. 2 cars were broken in to by smashing the windows the night before we left. Don't stay here until they improve this property or it is sold to m ore responsible owners. Holiday Inn Express should pull their name off the building.

The pool had too much bleach

I opted for this location as it appeared beautiful. I had a larger suite with the terrace. My room had a hole in the wall (large) and torn up carpet. The hotel itself is looking old and dated. Staff was unfriendly at best. And to be 2022 nearly 2023 not to have the snack counter open and room service/make up available due to “Covid” is honestly rediculous. I was scheduled to be here for nearly a month, I have changed my next three weeks stay.

Arrived at the property to check.. my reservation as for a 2 queen room. I was told that all the queen rooms were sold out. I could take a king room or nothing.

It was great except we were sold on the indoor pool however, the pool didn’t work. That was the main reason I picked this hotel.

I was celebrating my sisters 62nd birthday at Childress Vineyards. It was awesome being able to stay so close. Especially after drinking so much wine!!!

The stay was ok at best. We were in room #103 on the first floor. The noise of flushing toilets were heard flushing all night long through our walls. The bed comfort was horrible. They need new mattresses. The pool was closed. The vending and ice machines were only available on the 2nd floor. We also got an automated wake up call @ 6am on Sunday morning that we didn't ask for. Breakfast was good. No restaurants close by to get food....The room was clean and smelled fresh. It just seemed like the hotel was not completely open.

Pretty disappointed the pool is closed for 2yrs and they continue to promote it as open. I chose this hotel specifically so my son could go swimming. I stay in hotels often and their shouldn't be people running around banging on doors at 2am. ... Oh, and there's a dry booger on the wall by the bed... Come on..

This hotel is clean and comfortable in general. It is in the perfect location for a trip to the winery. The BIG problem this time was the MOLD on the cinnamon buns that were offered as part of the breakfast. My friend actually ate one before we saw it. Also, it would be a huge improvement if this hotel sold wine!
