Fantastic! Five star hotel right on longboat key beach. Staff was great and food was delicious!

Bartenders went above and beyond getting milk for my son from the restaurant. Milk in the gift shop would be an amazing addition to your selection of products... other than that, the whole family enjoyed the stay and would love to book again in the future

Amazing hotel and service

Paying $35 for a beach umbrella (no drink service at the beach) plus a resort fee felt pretty ridiculous. We felt like we were CONSTANTLY waiting for service, which is not what you want to do for an expensive stay. At breakfast, the food was pretty disappointing and our server did not check us at all (otherwise we would have said so) and we had to flag her down for our check. She still didn’t ask how our food was. Usually if you’ve messed up in a pretty big way, the only thing you can do to even try to make it better is offer some discount/money off just as a gesture. Apologies only go so far, and since you can’t go back in time, if the hospitality side of a business has failed, they need to make it right.

Everything

Every aspect of the resort was top notch. It was extremely clean, well maintained, and efficient. Every staff member from valet to cabana and beach folks were excellent. Everyone was very respectful helpful and went above and beyond with every request. Cleaning services twice per day! We will return.

Disappointed that we got assigned a room in front of the elevator and ice machine. Our room did not get cleaned unless we called them to remind them. TV to watch finals game was horrible. Bar closed way too early for summer

Then the drinks were very watery and my group only ordered the one. It had a lovely onsite restaurant but it took at least 30 minutes for our breakfast to arrive and there was only three tables who needed service. We had to ask about it. I understand these things can happen but it was not high season.

I think because of being extremely popular and getting a lot of use, the room is rundown… The bathroom in particular needed updating. Aside from that the staff was lovely and the amenities are great. Crowded but great.

The property is nice and the rooms are clean and nice the location is excellent and the beach is beautiful however there's some downsides to this property particularly service. The restaurant doesn't have really great service from desk as well not very helpful in many cases things are not smooth checking in or checking out. The only parking option is valet however there are plenty of open parking spaces. The hotel doesn't charge for the valet but it is annoying having to valet the car all the time and wait for it to be brought up front if you want to get in and out quickly.

We had a great time at the Zota resort. The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. The only negative thing about this resort is all of the fees that are charged.

This hotel is in a great location on Long Boat Key. We didn't have a car and were able to uber to St. Armand's Circle for shopping and Amelia's Island for beaches/change of scenery.

Amazing beach - all rooms get 2 lounge chairs and 1 umbrella included but could pay the cabana guys for more stuff. Great pool and outdoor bar. Highly staffed with experienced workers. Very clean rooms. Would recommend. Saw a wedding happening- looked amazing.

To pay tax and a service charge for a beach umbrella is crazy. Stayed at dozens +++ hotels and never had tax and a service charge. Additionally I gave the young man a tip for setting up the umbrella and some how there was also a tip on my bill for the umbrella set up. Hard to believe a $30.00 umbrella was 45.00 plus crazy and not acceptable.

Stayed here for a girls trip, and we had a wonderful stay! The beach access and amenities were lovely as well as the pool. Our room was great and the hotel staff was nice for the most part. The only complaint we had was that the parking was valet only, and the valet staff were not the kindest.

I will say that we absolutely loved and enjoyed the resort. The room was perfect, the resort was beautiful and throughout our entire stay we remarked often at how amazing the staff was. Specifically the restaurant staff, they were extremely courteous to us with every interaction and we thought the meals were excellent and well worth the price (notably the breakfast buffet). The gentleman that worked there from near the beginning who assists the waitstaff gave a great history of the hotel which was appreciated. Our favorite day consisted of renting one of the deluxe beach cabanas. We felt the price for how much enjoyment we had was worth every penny. Upon our arrival home we reviewed the receipt of charges and we had noticed that the cabana had cost us a considerable difference than what was quoted at rental. The crew quoted the rental amount and suggested a 20% tip (which we had no issue giving). Our charge however on checkout was much higher. Upon contacting the front desk, she explained the additional charge was another 20% service fee. This was never advised. The end result was removal of the tip as that was the only thing offered (she also advised it was a separate company renting the cabanas and she had no control) This was unnecessary info as we saw it as the resort itself. The overall experience could’ve been perfect had this one incident not taken place.

We were in room 205 and the only problem I found was a foul odor coming from the drain in the shower and the floor of the shower was not properly pitched so water would constantly flood the bathroom

The food was ok, but the service in the restaurant was terrible. I was waiting for the coffee at least 30 minutes. They put coffee in the broken mug and it was dripping at the bottom on my clothes.

This was perfect for a quick getaway. My room was large and comfortable with a view of the pool and the Gulf of Mexico. The pool was large and had shaded space for me to knock out some work too. This part of the beach is relatively quiet and just what I was looking for

The food at the restaurant was excellent the room was very big the bathroom was small and needs refurbishing some of the staff were wonderful the check-in and checkout people not the nicest

Beautiful property and very well maintained. It’s also in a very good location as you are not far from Anna Maria Island, St. Armand’s Square or Siesta Key. The only thing - you need to pay for the beach umbrellas, but that’s alright as they offer complimentary valet parking, so all in all you still get a good value. It is also an Opal Resorts hotel, so the level of service is definitely superior to other hotels. My husband and I go to Opal hotels all the time, and we always have a great experience. We shall return! 😊

We had an amazing time at Zota Beach Resort. Food at the restaurants is 10/10. It is not necessary to leave the resort to find places to it. Amenities were in great conditions. Heated pool. Beautiful beach

The experience was fantastic, good facilities and magnificent atmosphere.

The facility and staff were excellent. My only gripe is the mandatory valet parking. I like to have access to my vehicle at all times. Otherwise, a top notch facility. I would definitely recommend it.

Extremely high prices for a place with such a disastrous restaurant. Also, watch out for being double charged if you choose to not put the charge on your room tab. Paper thin walls in the rooms. You can hear next room’s conversations clearly. Won’t come back. But hey it’s really clean.

Vanessa pool side service was excellent! Beautiful beach could have had more amenities than just towels and umbrellas. For example food and drink service on the beach. We would not stay at that location again and we would consider other Opal properties.

The beach that the Zota Beach Resort is on is the best part of this place. White sand, beautiful water, and not too crowded even during spring break. Your resort fee includes 2 lounge chairs, but an umbrella or an additional chair costs $40 each. I was not happy when they ran out of umbrellas and wouldn't let us put one up that a local friend had. The overall service and attitude of the staff (front desk, bars, and restaurant) were below average. Our room was a nice size, and was clean.

Beach is very nice, no frills. Overall it's clearly a 3/4 star range just overall totally fine, nothing great.

Room was clean. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. Pool area was nice. Beach is just steps away. Restaurant menu was a little limited but food was very good and drinks were good also. Especially enjoyed the Miami Vice drinks at the pool bar.

The breakfast menu and buffet were very good. The gentleman who prepared the fresh omelets was amazing. He did a great job. The room was nice and clean. The cleaning services were exceptional. They took pride in making sure our room was clean and stocked. The only downside to my visit was waiting an hour and a half for our luggage to be delivered to our room.

decent bang for your buck if your looking to get out on the island but don't except too much from Zota. the valet service on the other hand was top notch! those guys were running around like crazy getting everyone to their vehicles as quickly as possible. too bad the good service ends at their front door...

Clean rooms, easy check in. The easy access to the beach and pool was perfect for our family and just what we were hoping for. Staff at the pool and beach were helpful and efficient. Only complaint was during our dinner: service was slow and the air conditioner condensation was dripping from the ceiling onto our table. Overall, we would be happy to stay here again!

Great boutique hotel. Has everything you need to have a peaceful vacation. The pool was pretty and the hotel was quiet. The beach area was calm and not overcrowded! There are good restaurants close by or you can eat at Zota. Vanessa and Johanna were great at servicing the bar/lunch area and for breakfast.

We always enjoy staying at Zota for the pool and beach. This time however we booked a king room and they only had a queen available unless we wanted a handicap room facing the parking lot. So we were disappointed we didn’t get what we paid for and expected.

Great atmosphere and good! Rooms were very nice and clean. Staff was super friendly. I loved the valet parking. Free beach chairs included in the resort fee was a great benefit. The pool was nice and heated for a February stay. I highly recommend.

Place was lovely. Quiet area. Poor experience with room…cleaning person in room above us dumped water and it came through ceiling onto us unexpectedly while we were in the bathroom and had bleach in it. Didn’t make any sense that much water could come through with a cleaning. No one apologized or checked on us from mgmt

We had an excellent stay at Zota Beach Resort. The location is beautiful, the staff was wonderful, and everything felt calm and well taken care of. Highly recommend!

The food was great the hotel was super clean. Bar drinks were weak but the service was exceptional. Lots of kids on the weekend so maybe do not book a pool room due to noise. The views were wonderful. Staff was always working to do touch ups around the building ( cleaning painting, even the deck/pool/flowers were sprayed every night. I have to say this was probably my favorite hotel so far.

An absolute pleasure the resort was beautiful. Everybody was very nice. I will definitely be back.

In the evening, we relaxed by the pool under the stars and noticed a raccoon passing by at a safe distance away from the pool. When we mentioned it, the staff explained that the resort partners with rescue organizations to relocate them, though as part of Florida’s natural environment, new ones may appear. It did not take away from our experience, and we appreciated how proactive and transparent the staff were. Overall, the resort felt safe, peaceful, and high quality. A beautiful place for a relaxing getaway, and I would definitely return.

The room and staff were great! 2 issues we had that you charge another 6.00 for a teabag, never had to pay for a 2nd cup. Based on how luxury all was thought that was petty. The other item is that we are forced to use valet parking.

I thought I reserved a room with a sofa couch. They offered a rollaway bed but this was not comfortable for my daughter. There were no rooms available like this so I had to take another room that was oceanfront but was charged $100 upgrade fee. The staff were very friendly about this but I didn’t think I should be charged. I will be sure to confirm all this before I take another trip. Overall experience was ok.

The property was nice and there are bars and restaurants on-site, which was nice. However, parts of the resort seemed to be in disrepair and the service was okay.

The services were excellent all around including room, beach, pool, parking, bars and restaurants. I would have preferred a self parking option and that the beach umbrellas would have been included as part of the daily hotel fees.

The location was perfect. Centrally located, making trips north and south along the key easy. We were able to quickly go to Sarasota or Ana Maria. The private beach was great. It would have been better without the uncharges for umbrellas and additional lounge chairs. Only 2 lounge chairs per room when a room holds 4 people. Restaurant service was slow, we had breakfast the first morning which was just ok. All other meals were out on the island. Some very good options. Try, Whitney’s, Dry Dock Grill or the Sage Biscuit. All were good. The front office, housekeeping and valet/ bell staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff and property was very nice. only one dislike: We were booked in room 205. To access the elevator to get to our room we had to travel through the outside concession/bar area by the pool. So you rolled your luggage right through this area which felt funny rolling right by people eating or drinking. Better route would have been inside away from outside area. Everything else was very nice.

Everything was nice but service at the bar was terrible had 2 bartenders there and they like look at you dont ask what you want. I had to ask how do i ask for service here because i was lost. The rooms are ok and the beach access. The restaurant shoudnt even be opened the service was the worst i ever had. Food was not good for the price. I have been to alot of wonderful places . The restaurant ruined our whole experience. We ordered a wine bottle and it took over 30 minute's to come our appetizers had come before the bottle. Dont get the pasta dishses. Fettuicine Alfredo came with like a spoon full of Alfredo sauce and the meat pasta taste like can spaghettis. Worst restaurant i ever been to

The resort matches its surroundings perfectly. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable – friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. From the moment we arrived to the day we reluctantly left, everything was flawless. If you want a relaxing escape with amazing views, clear water, and exceptional service, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

The property location is perfect. The staff is not friendly or helpful in any way. The front desk- you will have to wait 15 min or longer to ask a question, even if you are the only person in the lobby. The restaurant, no one is there eating and several staff standing around talking but will not acknowledge customers. The pool area is always trashed with food, trash, wet towels. There is staff standing around talking but no one cleaning up the area. The beach is nice and the folks that work on the beach do a nice job with the chairs and equipment. Next time we will look into other resorts.

It was perfect

3 cockroaches found in room and stench coming out of bathroom since day 1. Charged for amenities that should be included in the nightly rate. Restaurant was expensive, food was mid, and portions were very small. I've stayed at hotels in Mexico that are far better than this hotel. Will not come back.

This hotel had the hopes of being a great stay, but the word that comes to mind is inconsistent. The $20 breakfast was average at Best, poolside bar food was OK but they forgot all condiments, silverware or napkins were delivered. The front desk tried to fix the problem of the constantly blinking lights in the room from the Smoke alarm and some mother system but all they did was put blue tape over the lights, which was dumb because we had already covered them with Band-Aids. Had to ask repeatedly for items such as bags for the ice and the ice bucket was the size of a tissue box, and they forgot the do not disturb sign twice so the maid open the door while I was in the shower. The beach crew was great, and the view of course was lovely. But inconsistent just was the theme of the day

If your bringing your dog beware as you have to walk to the front of the property (very hot grounds) just for them to use the bathroom!

I loved how clean and quiet this place is. Being a small building complex helps control the amount of people. The beaches are beautiful. Love how pet friendly it is, but also keep all the rooms neat and clean and not smelling like animals.

My friend fell at the property and hurt her leg. It was still a beautiful place and so nice.

Away from the Anna Maria congestion and right on the beach. We received 2 free beach lounges with our room whih was very nice and I loved not having to save lounge chairs by the pool, there were plenty of chairs available all day long.

Nice room and nice place but the staff was rude and act like we were bothering them when we ordered at the pool bar. Also the staff cut infront of me several times going through doors without saying a word. Maybe some hospitality training would help. The pool looked liked it hadn’t been cleaned for awhile, real dingy. Weve stayed at opal resorts and the staff and hotels are always top notch but this one was not. Disappointing for such a cool place based off the pictures online. Never again!!!

We had the entire family for our 40th anniversary with us. We all had a fantastic time and enjoyed the beach, pool and restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean. We loved the suit and had plenty of room for game night.

They added $500+ in charges to our room account without further verifying. BTW- When they tell you equipment for beach is included at beach hut that does not include the umbrella @ $40, just 2 chairs. Do your yourselves the favor and pay cash or with your credit card. To avoid having to go through the unpleasant situation of having to take your time to dispute, room charges and calling back and fourth.

Only negative, requested a microwave and please change batteries in room safe that wasn’t working. Neither happened. Everything else was great. Food, people, location, condition of property great. Very friendly and knowledgeable

This property is on the verge of excellent, they get a Very Good ++. Location a.k.a. beachfront is absolutely wonderful. Pool and spa pool are warm and comfortable. (Sand at pool bottom should be cleaned for maximum appeal.)

We stayed an extra day in Sarasota, and decided to stay here. So glad we did. The beach and pool were amazing. The staff is great, and the room was perfect as well. My only regret was not staying here from the very beginning

Drunk people partying and singing in the outdoor area of the hotel restaurant at 11 pm, which is an hour after closing time was ridiculous. Couldn’t sleep. This is unacceptable for the restaurant manager to allow.

Stayed here many times. Perfect for a bit of R&R. Great location for pottering around Longboat Key and Sarasota.

Wonderful location. Great beach for guests. Great pool with plenty of lounge chairs for all. Good restaurant. Room was in older wing and a little dated, but large with good view and a great ac. Shower needed a drain cleaning was the only gig along with shortage of complimentary body wash. Otherwise all was good. Nice bed and great pillows.

Very small hotel rooms. Bathrooms are the size of a portable outhouse.

The property is aging ... paint on the deck railings fades/peeling ... of the three engagements with front desk staff the arrival person was friendly and pleasant ... the second time she was a bit short and grumpy ... the lady when we checked out was nice as well.

Property was fantastic just if you want to eat outside of hotel, nothing much is easily in walking distance. I rented a bike and rode to Sarasota a few times but sometimes it would have been nice to have more options closer. However the beach and pool were a fabulous set up and worth the inconvenience to me. Hotel room and amenities were amazing as well

We were happy with our stay. We had an issue with our room and the staff was super friendly and attentive, they handled the situation right away and we had a great stay. The ground are clean and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. The area is quiet, come here if you’re looking for a peaceful beach get away from the bustle of city life.

I will not return. Check-in experience was very disappointing and the room left much to be desired. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom was small. The food and service at the restaurant was superior. The room rate was 604.00 per night. I’ve never experienced a more disappointing stay. Not at all worth the price Not the Opal experience I hoped for.
