This is a run down, fleabag, flop house. It's dirty. The towels are old and very thin. The photographs they use on Expedia are from a different motel. The terms and conditions are different online them when you arrive. The neighborhood is very dangerous. The motel clerk is behind bullet proof glass and you have to do business from the outside through a sliding metal drawer. There is no ice machines but if you want a prostitute there's one on site for your pleasure.

Modern and clean interior, and close enough to USC The area does have much to offer within walking distance and it doesn’t seem safe to be out at night. The street noise is random depending on the obnoxious loud cars.

The staff members were rude in their communication. The place is okay, but a bit in a scary location.

Disappointed.

The hotel was nice and clean. The area around was a little sketchy at night, but fine during the daytime. The staff was a bit hard to communicate with but not rude.

I didn't like that I was asked every day what time I was leaving. I was only there foe 3 nights and was perfectly content to not have the bedding changed daily, but I was unable to refuse, and was asked each day what time I was leaving.

Staff wasn’t very welcoming/friendly, didn’t communicate hotel policies very clearly and each staff member you we spoke to said something different. Rooms are cleaned at odd times and they make you leave the room each morning of your stay to do room service, but after leaving our room for 2 hours our room still hadn’t been serviced and our only options offered were to wait in a different empty room or just take fresh towels without a cleaning. Found a dirty dirty diaper from previous guests inside our room on the day of check in. It’s an okay hotel if you just need somewhere to stay that’s close to BMO stadium but not worth it otherwise.
- 5/5
Well lit parking area. The room was nicely decorated for the price point and was very clean. Good water pressure! Minor complaint: towels were thin and worn so you might want to bring your own.

This hotel is in the middle of a homeless camp. The pictures are nothing like it looks. Everything is dirty, broken and we didn’t see anything except open doors on every room. We pulled in, tried to cancel and a maid came and told us no refunds. Nobody will get back to me. This hotel is dangerous, dirty and nobody should even drive in the area.
- 4/5
Overall a convenient location for us into downtown LA and good value for the price.
- 5/5
Living alone is great and the staffs are really nice.
- 1/5
I had gas waiting for me outside and they will not allow that and they made me leave and check out and they refused to refund me my 190 for the night. They only gave me back my $50 deposit.

Lovely room! Slept well!!
- 5/5
It was perfect location during the graduation of our son at USC, we stayed 2 night cause we actually attended 3 graduation ceremony including my son's Masters degree. well its close to USC. I have 2 concern before going to Solo 1st security, 2nd parking.well the place is pretty secured and parking is plenty.its quit and super clean note they clean the rooms daily and they dont have a dont disturb sign so expect your room to be entered if youre away which is fine by me. we checked our belongings once we came back and non have been touched. wifi was very fast i was able to do some work at night.btw. no coffee maker :( there is a mexican grocery just accross the st. where we bought water. but i dont recommend walking out at night unless you carry a glock haha! well over all we loved our stay at Solo Motel LA. btw. the staff was very friendly and very accommodating. but during check out which was around 650am because we had to drive back to San Jose upon getting our $50 deposit the guy was still friendly or trying but you can tell his not in his best of mood which i totally understand. Anyway Thanks again! and I will book again! :)
- 5/5
Extremely clean and well-renovated, the desk staff were polite and to-the-point. It is a delightful place to stay, at an extremely reasonable rate.
- 5/5
Great for staying by USC
- 3/5
The owners require a $50 cash deposit. That's a little inconvenient for those of us that don't carry cash. The room had a weird lighting system. There was dial next to the bed where you could change the color of the lights -- blue, red, green -- and the lighting was also under the bed. Apparently WifI was free, but we weren't given info at check-in. It was nice to have an enclosed parking lot.
- 3/5
Not knowing a $50 dollar CASH deposit is required and can not be put on a credit card. I would have stopped at the ATM had I know after traveling for 4 hours
- 4/5
It was very good,
- 5/5
Warm welcoming and provided a lot of comfortable service. There was a grocery store nearby so it was comfortable and safe around.

Very clean nicely well done cool thing with the lights. Was a great place to film content.

- 2/5
1-Parking lot/front of rooms very dirty, worn down looking, dead plants. (Photos online show it looking totally different.) 2-Room had strange colored lights above the beds area that illuminated the entire room (& not in a good way). 3-"Blanket" on bed was as thin as a sheet & did not keep one warm. 4-Not enough towels or toilet paper in bathroom. (Too tired to request more.) 5-Flushing the toilet each time emitted a terrible, rotten egg smell.(Thinking it was due to possible recycled water for building? Never have smelled that in a hotel before.) 6-Very noisy street & unsafe neighborhood. (Wish we would have known prior. Didn't even go out to try & find food. Ordered in.) 7-Paper thin walls between rooms. 8-Never could "talk" to a live person to check on our arrival. Instead had to send an email/text message. 9-Hotel required a $50 CASH deposit (which we didn't know about prior.) HUH?? Thank goodness we had it otherwise we would have to venture out into a very sketchy neighborhood to go try find an ATM. So upset to spend the $ we did for this stay. We won't ever stay here again.
- 5/5
Probably the best motel I ever stayed at
- 3/5
As soon as we got thete the woman behind the counter made us pay $15 in CASH because we had 2 people in each room, not just 1. I've NEVER had this happen. The neighborhood is rough to say the least. If Gavin Newsome wants homelessness camps he'll have no shortage of work around this motel. The towels were tiny, no microwave in the room. The tv worked well and so did the a/c. Bring a blanket because there's pretty much only a sheet on the bed. Still, if you wanted safe and nice, pay $300 a night and stay elsewhere.
- 1/5
Everything was just terrible and especially the service
- 3/5
Unfortunately just not a very comfortable stay. You can hear everything that’s going on in the rooms next to you and the bed could be improved. They require a $50 cash deposit that is inconvenient and the staff seems annoyed. I would not recommend this place. In their defense they do have a parking lot which is nice and easy to use. The rooms are clean and look just like the photos. There are many better options in LA for the same price.
- 1/5
To be honest the previous owners were understanding and understandable. These one that help shout and give u such bad looks it just was un-welcoming the try to assume your a smoker or drug use and they dont want guest on the property the whole point of visiting and lodging is to visit i my family.stay my guest felt unsafe the whole time. I should take future business else where.
- 4/5
Owners very nice.
- 5/5
The property feels safe and protected in what is an otherwise dodgy neighborhood. The staff are pleasantand helpful. There wasn’t very much ambient noise either time I’ve stayed there. Note the $50 cash deposit payable upon check-in.
- 5/5
Value for money.

I had a terrible experience at this property. The place was dirty, the staff was rude, and it was uncomfortably loud. For the first time, I felt unsafe staying here. I would not recommend this property to anyone
- 4/5
The motel staff is quite old-fashioned. It seems they haven't heard of tap-to-pay and pre-authorized payments.

When I went out to explore on my first day, I went to the front desk and reminded them again that I did NOT want housekeeping that day. I was told it’s okay, that they will only come in to replace towels and clean the bathroom. I told them I didn’t want that, and the women confirmed no housekeeping. When I come home that day, I walk in to find that my AC was turned on, towels were missing, and the money envelope that I had left in my room had been moved. Thankfully I was smart and removed the cash before I left that day. On my 2nd day, I was leaving and was stopped in the parking lot by the man at the front desk. I told him about what happened, and again asked to have no service today. He would not take no for an answer and demanded that I explain why I did not want a service that was provided. I said since I left in the morning it would be unnecessary for me. I explained that I did not want anyone in my room since things had been moved and I had already said no. I was met with hostility, and it made me very uncomfortable.

The staff is friendly and conscientious. Checking in was fast and easy. Central parking lot was very convenient. Overall, this is a great motel in the area. I will plan to stay again next time I'm in the area.

GREAT
- 5/5
This place was hella nice and I will be returning if I come back to LA! Pretty close to downtown (short & cheap Uber ride) and nice if you don't want to be in the city. The room was really nice and the LED lights were awesome. There's an HDMI port for the TV! The staff were really nice, provided us an air freshener and microwave and accommodated all our questions. Room looks exactly like the pictures. So so nice
- 5/5
It’s a great place to spend a night

Bedroom was really clean and staff was nice
- 5/5
Not in the best area but there was no issues with the motel
- 5/5
It was very clean. It felt very modern.
- 4/5
It was a very good stay for three nights. Very comfortable beds to sleep on and the led lights were very nice addition to the room. Very nice staff.
- 4/5
The property itself is located in a unclean environment. But once you arrive on the premises it doesn’t feel like you’re in that area. Place looks just like the photos. Staff is friendly and nice. Room could use some more attention when it comes down to being cleaned, they seem to do more surface cleaning than in-depth. Overall I would give them a 7/10
- 4/5
The area isnt great, but the ownership keeps the property itself super nice and theyre super friendly

When I pulled into the parking lot the hotel owner/manager saw 3 people in my car. When I went to check in he asked me how many people were checking in and I said 2. He said he saw 3 people and only two were allowed to check in and there were no visitors allowed in the rooms. He also informed me I would have to pay $50 cash which I didn’t have. He directed me to an atm down the street at a local supermarket. It was pretty close but that caught me off guard. Since no visitors were allowed, I had to immediately bring my friends to their hotel room before I was allowed to check in. Once I returned he asked me for id for me and my daughter. I told him she was a minor. He asked how old she was. I told him 13. He asked if I had her passport. I said no as we are American citizens and she doesn’t have any id. He looked dubious to say the least. Eventually I was given the room key. Parking is a bit limited. The room was clean but did have a VERY strong deodorizer smell that gave me a headache at first. The temperature and mattress were comfortable and the hotel was walking distance to the concert venue I was going to but the walk was scary. This neighborhood is ROUGH and that’s putting it gently. Upon checkout my deposit was returned. I would stay here again now that I know the visitor restrictions because it was affordable and close to that specific venue (bmo stadium).
- 5/5
It was a decent place to stay at am affordable price. Keep in mind it is in an area that’s a little ghetto but they take security seriously that only people getting the room are the only one on the property.
- 2/5
It's always a red flag when they ask you for a cash deposit. The room was nice, but there was no overhead lighting for the bed save for some weird multi-colored disco thing? (?) Also: Extremely loud club music until midnight across the street. Forget about shuteye until late. Also no "Do not disturb" flyer
- 4/5
The surrounding area is a little run down, but this shouldn’t stop you from staying here, it’s a perfect stop for a night or two and close enough to central locations (Crypto Arena etc).
- 5/5
Solo Motel had everything I needed for a solo trip to LA. A bed, a shower, and room with a lock to keep my stuff while I went out. Would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
The outside property looks a bit sketchy BUT inside of the room was a lot nicer than I expected!

Very nice property
- 4/5
I had a great stay here overall! My only complaint is that the towels were a little stained and were extremely rough!!! They all looked old and used; should definitely be replaced. Also, there wasn’t a real blanket. The “blanket” on the bed was as thin as the sheets. So you have to sleep with the heater on or you’ll freeze (I visited in December.) Other than that, everything was good. Easy check in and out.
- 2/5
The room smelled bad and the water tasted bad.
- 4/5
We wanted something cheap and close to the event we were going to, the staff was awkward but not mean. The bathroom in our room had a bunch of little hairs everywhere, pretty gross. The rest of the room was great, except for a suspicious mirror, the mirror was the only full body length mirror and was built into the wall, also it did not pass the 2 way mirror inspection. We placed a sheet over it to feel more comfortable. I could just be paranoid.
- 3/5
The hotel itself is nice. Room is modern and clean. Staff was not very friendly and the neighborhood around the hotel is horrifying. Be ready to leave a $50 cash deposit on check-in, for which they will not give you a receipt. They did give our cash back to us at check out.
- 5/5
Great place for a great price. The lady in the front was kind of rude, but everything else about our stay was good.
- 5/5
Very clean and modern facility. Room light fixtures were unique
- 5/5
Loved the rooms, very clean, loved our available parking, not so much the area, but the stay was great

The room was very nice but the host manager who checked us in was very rude not welcoming at all. He kept looking at us in an uncomfortable way when we took our IDs out I did not appreciate that. He should work on his attitude & hospitality.
- 4/5
This seems to be a family-run business. The people were nice and courteous. The place is kept clean and overall seems to be run well. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are nicely updated considering that this is a Motel. The only thing that wasn't to our liking was, that the place had a rather strong odor from cleaning products and or from sanitizing the place.
- 1/5
Didn’t let me stay
- 5/5
The room was very tidy and smelled so good i wish they had tubs in the shower
- 5/5
Staff was friendly, I had local business around the are , clean, spacious
- 3/5
Clean and cheap place to stay. The inside of the hotel rooms was actually very cool. The location is, however, as our Uber driver put it "in the hood," and there is quite a bit of noise in the night. Not really anything that the hotel can control.
- 2/5
Idk how someone stays in business with the mindset of treating everyone like dirt . Learn how to speak and talk to people . Get a class on Communication it might help . Don’t forget you want a business to be outta pleasure not for convenience . My stay was definitely for convenience. Won’t be coming back that’s for sure .

When I tried to check in they asked how many ppl I said two myself and my 8yr old daughter who wasn’t present at the time. They wanted me to get her to show she’s 8 before I could check in. Then they asked for my daughter birth certificate and ss card. So I said imma just check on by myself and then they said my reservation says two people and I can’t check in by myself. They were very mean and rude and it was extra late and I drove 8hrs to check in the room. I never found a room I slept in my truck all night.
- 2/5
They stated that dogs were allowed so we booked and prepaid but once we arrived to check in the lady very rudely informed us that was not the case not even for an additional fee. We reported this to hotels.com who was happy to refund us but not til they spoke to someone there to confirm we had not stayed. They called diligently for days however never were able to reach anyone there as they don’t like answering the phones nor do they speak English very well or hardly and what they do know to communicate they did always in a very rude unprofessional manner so sadly dissatisfied and disappointed. Oh and yes we did finally get our refund however it took over a week just t get approval then another week or more to receive our refund
