Multiple hairs in the shower, brown stuff all over the walls in the room, small tv that didn’t move, lack of decoration in room, bathroom door looked to be falling appart at the bottom. Had an incident where we needed new bedding on our bed. We asked the staff at 8am and was told that they will change them immediately and to strip our bed and put bedding in the hallway. 4 hours later and we still did not have bedding. We asked the staff again for a time estimate and was told they needed to wait on check outs so they can wash the sheets and give us new ones. I guess they didn’t have extra bedding to put on the bed? In the same conversation, another staff member said they were sorry and would personally put new bedding on immediately. She didn’t come by til 2 hours later.

The staff was helpful, but we couldn't get in and needed to change rooms. Overall the room was okay, but the floor was a bit sticky and didn't seem well cleaned.

The room did not seem to be totally attended to before I checked into it. There was no hand soap in the rooms and the coffee accessories were opened by someone who had previously been in the room. I had to go down and get soap and coffee accessories from the front desk myself. That was annoying, but other than that, it was good.

Rooms were not very quiet. Noise in halls from other guests was very loud. Room door had large1 inch gap at the bottom. I would not stay at this hotel again. There are many other options in Lynchburg for the price I paid.

1. The web site stayed they have shuttle service to Liberty University. They did not and was told to take an Uber. That one of the major reason for me to stay at the La Quinta Later was told by a staff member they don't have enough staff to provide the service anymore. 2. Let see what did not work. The phone. Had to get a new one. The TV remote. Had to get a new one. The bath tub did not drain properly nor did the sink by the vanity. They fixed it. They said they did not provide hair dryers. After returning from an outing they "found" one. It appeared on the lower part of the vanity. The plug in did not work to plug the dryer in. 3. The bathroom was DIRTY. The toilet seat was so loose it moved back and forth. They fixed it. The toilet seat is so low. It is proper for an up to 6 year. The walls had stains on once you close the door from the inside it is really bad. 4. I had 2 wake up calls. The first on the 23rd. They said they were late calling by 11 minutes but the phone did not ring. the 2nd one on 24st again no call. I went to the front desk to make sure they got the request on the 23rd my check out day. Again no call I asked the front desk why not. She said she has did know of the request. She also said the phone may not be working. I told her they just replaced that phone. The other staff members were friendly and I really loved the dog friendly stay. I don't have one but I am sure others found it helpful. However, I paid to much for the stay

Great breakfast, friendly staff, and they have coffee available in the lobby 24-7. Popcorn available for free in the afternoons which made my son happy. An older hotel but the rooms are clean and the shower works great!

Everyone working the front desk was consistently rude, the manager especially. She would not even have a full conversation with us. We booked the room for 4 people and only got 3 towels. When we asked for enough towels for everyone we were told, “maybe if we have any.” The room smelled like mold and were barely clean. The plugs in the bathroom didn’t work so we had to get ready in the lobby bathroom. Would not stay here again.

Bed and room were comfortable. It does have some signs of aging which made it feel a little less clean - carpets were dated. Staff was not rude but did not appear thrilled to be there.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, but the hotel had a horrible smell of air freshener and skunk. The room was dusty with hair in the tub, and on the counters. I only had one night booked and the price was indicative of the conditions of the hotel. The staff was great, but the cleanliness was lacking.

The room across the hall had pets that barked into the night and early in the morning. Front desk was unable to correct due to hotel being at capacity. We had traveled from PA to visit Liberty Univ., and the dogs made rest/sleep difficult.

The breakfast was really good. The staff worked very hard to keep it clean and keep it stocked. The lobby is clean and inviting. The stairs and elevators were good. The room was comfortable and quiet. Check in was NOT good. It took a long time. People ahead of us got keys that didn't work and we got a room that was occupied. It was terrible. We apologized and went back to get another room. Bad start. All else post check in was good. Nice area near the University and seemed safe.

Super clean and well maintained. Friendly staff when I checked in that evening. The only complaint was there were 3 staff in the office behind the desk talking when I approached the desk in the morning. No one asked if I needed anything or even emerged from the office.

Everything was fine, and it was great to have free coffee and popcorn in the lobby. However, a group of college students were very noisy and rowdy, keeping us up late at night and waking us up. Everything else was good.

All was good except for the outer door. It slammed shut every time someone came through it. So, when the family with the little dog went for a walk at 5:30 am, the door slammed and woke my room up. If they could fix the door, it would make a huge difference. Thanks.

First night, had to take a cold shower. The knob in the shower was broken. Maintenance came the next day and fixed it, but still they should have know the knob was not working before I got in the shower. 3 nights=$500, just to take a cold shower. Other than that it was a decent stay. But stil…

Our biggest frustration was related to the free hot breakfast. We stayed there for multiple nights and each morning they ran out of EVERYTHING (eggs, sausage, potatoes)... and even coffee and Frosted Flakes! It took super long to replenish the hot food. So guests were waiting around for 10-15 minutes to get food... and then it ran out very quickly... for yet another 10-15 minute wait for the next round to appear. That did not just happen by accident one morning... it happened EVERY morning we were there. It seemed obvious to us that they were trying to cut corners and save $$$, but as a result we will be looking at other hotels the next time we go see our daugther at Liberty.

The room felt dirty and had a strong musky smell. The breakfast was not great. It offered a limited variety, things ran out early (approx 740am) and wasn't replenished. There was no yogurt, no milks, no dairies, no bagels, stale biscuits and I saw one boiled egg. I did not see items replenished when they ran out. Also, the apple juice was watered down. The front desk and linen attendant were kind and helpful, which is why I did not give it 1 star, but 2.

Staff was friendly. When you walk into the hotel, it seems very clean. But not so much in the room. The Hotel needs to spend attention cleaning the rooms. Behind the TV console (which was 4” from wall) where all kinds of straws, cups, tissues, dirt & dust. Along the edges of the room were crumbs of food. Along the edges of the hallways were dusty and dirty with crumbs, they obviously hadn’t been vacuumed a long time. When I pulled back, my covers, there was a long strand of black hair. There was black hair in my shower. And the shower curtain was yellow. The wall next to the toilet had stains from urine on it. Coffee selection in the room was only decaf and had no regular. There was no tea choice either. Breakfast was good!

The room price is very good, but the room itself not so much. We were staying with a pet. The room had a very strong oder, perhaps because it is a pet room, not sure, but it was very unpleasant. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The sink is outside the toilet/shower who’s is okay, but there was no room to move in the toilet/shower area, other than the square area for the door to open. So with those major areas of concern, I can’t give it a good rating

I could not figure out why I was itching from day one. until I noticed a few bugs. one of which I caught and delivered to hotel front desk. This is a good hotel for the value. There are lots of things across the street like a mall area, as well as many restaurants nearby. The hotel is clean overall except the bathroom walls were a bit dirty with splatters.

A) upon late night arrival I had no room. Was told to take up with “whoever you booked with” B) After exhaustively trying to correct the failed reservation, I was eventually given a room. Upon entering the room I was met by the strong overpowering scent of a man’s cologne. C) After making sure the room was not occupied by a man, I found it to be unfit for a guest stay. D) the light on the right of the bed did not work. When turned on it would strove wildly enough to likely induce seizures if one suffered from them. The light to the left had a shade that appeared to have been shredded up by a cat. From it was dangling a long blonde strand of hair. E) The bedsheets were filthy with some sort of bodily fluid on the covers. It was either dried blood or feces of some kind. F) Breakfast was both cold-ish and bland. G) Upon checking out and leaving, I received a call from the front desk alerting me to having left a man’s green polo shirt in the room. I do not wear polo shirts, and I did not have anything green with me during my overnight stay. Another sign that the room had not been properly cleaned prior to my arrival. All in all I stayed the night because I arrived late after ten hours of driving and was absolutely exhausted. But I piled waste baskets and a chair against the door because I did not feel safe there. It was quite an unpleasant experience.

Room seemed ok until I closed the curtains and found an old McDonald’s bag from the last guest. 5 night stay. ZERO housekeeping.no trash removed, no new towels or bed made. My coworker Nextdoor asked for cleaning the head of housekeeping told her that her crew did clean. Uhh it’s pretty easy to tell if my room had been serviced! She also had a roach in her room and found old garbage behind the tv. The housekeepers knocked on the door and handed her trash bags so she could clean it herself. The MOST unprofessional experience ever. Front desk ladies were nice, but no manager ever present during my stay. Subpar breakfast, and the place was DIRTY. DO NOT STAY HERE. I had 6 rooms, I was so embarrassed to be the one to book this place. Never again. I’ll never even stay at this chain again because the experience was so awful.

Room was clean at a glance, but as we were going to sleep a cockroach popped out of the picture on the wall. There was an extremely dirty towel behind all the clean ones so we had to use our own. Beds were clean. Coffee machine was not. It’s cheap, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff was kind, the hotel/room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we slept well!! Included Perks of coffee and popcorn in the lobby. The only "negative" was the shower; the pressure was poor and there wasn't a big stream so my shower was a bit disappointing. Everything else was superior and I would still return to this hotel.

For the price, it was sufficient for the one night we needed to stay for the area. I would expect this hotel to be under $90 a night from where I’m from so the $158 a night was steep for the accommodation, but understandable in the city it was in. The rooms were adequate. The pillows are terrible. They have the tiny pieces of foam in them and go completely flat and lumpy. The shower was very small but did the job. The continental breakfast was the normal cereal, bagels, muffins, or eggs and very soggy sausage.

Breakfast was good but coffee kept running out. Check in was suppose to be at 3. Didn't get into room until 5. Couldn't switch reservation from king bed to 2 queens because I got it thru expedia. My plan changed and I had my 2 grandsons with me. It was hard to sleep.

Room had cracked lampshades, blood stains and hair/dirt on the bedding sheets/blankets. Dirt/dust on the floors and molding. Rust and pink scum on bathroom floor / tub. We will not stay again. But hope to get a good nights sleep and the staff at front desk are nice.

We have stayed here before and it meets our needs. Our particular room however on this visit has a very slow draining sink and a lot of dust in heater. We needed to switch from Ac to heat as the room was freezing cold on entry. We got the smell of burning hair or dust which made the room unpleasant for several hours. We simply turned to unit off

During our stay they were having issues with the key card device. The staff had to walk every customer to their rooms. Despite the challenge the staff remained cordial and helpful. Even at check out they found a mistake with my billing and corrected on the spot. Bottom line, phenomenal customer service! Well done.

One of the two elevators was down for our entire stay. That was a challenge but overall, this is a decent properly close to LU.

A warning to fellow travelers, don't pick this hotel. I was misled by some favorable reviews depicting the hotel as budget friendly, decent rooms and free breakfast. My wife and I are not high maintenance but this hotel was awful. The check-in receptionist had an attitude that he hated his job was our first impression. The room had dirty carpet, the toilet wasn't secure to the floor with the door hook falling off. The breakfast buffet ran out of items and had few to little choices available. I can go on and on. I would find it hard to believe my experience was isolated. Now I know when visiting my son at college to never stay here again.

Our stay was fine. I didn’t love the tiny bathroom with toilet and shower squished in a small room and the sink in the main room. The carpet felt sticky. We were there on a very busy weekend and they kept running out of things for breakfast including coffee and cups. Overall it was fine but I would probably look to stay somewhere else in the future.

I felt safe and even though it was a full house, noise was never a factor as the room did seem to be well insulated. I did have a ground floor suite and would often get smoke smell coming from the outside. I was super grateful to get a room at the price point that seemed a little more typical for the area, as it was Welcome Week for Liberty and possibly other schools.

This hotel was nice and comfortable. The breakfast was good, but they did not have enough people helping to keep the food stocked (it was Welcome Week at Liberty). We waited in line for 30 minutes to get food.

The staff was very nice. The lobby was nice, spacious and clean but the room itself was dirty and dusty. The walls and the doors were dirty. The furniture and the vents were super dirty and dusty. The beds were comfortable but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Night front desk was not friendly or helpful ; asked for Local Owned Family Friendly placed to eat & he recommended Food Court & Mall ; asked for 3 extra pillows & he said he would have to go down stairs to get them ( like he didn't want too ) when I did not say anything , he turned & went & got 2 pillows ( not 3 as requested ) with the pillow cases separate , I had to put the pillow cases on whenI got back to the room .

As a women in her 20's traveling alone I felt safe and comfortable staying here. The front desk staff was friendly & made check in a breeze. I did not love the complimentary breakfast but the hotel was right across from a 7brew which was a win in my book.

The breakfast staff was incredible! This was our 2nd stay and that made the stay end well. The side chair in our room was so dirty and stained we were afraid to sit in it. The bathroom was “OK”. The beds were comfortable. The Hoyle is convenient and in a safe area. We will use again.

The location was convenient, however the front desk staff was not very welcoming and I had to come down to the front desk twice to address issues after driving over 4 hrs to get there. (1. No soap in the room, floors and bathroom was dirty and 2. didn't use cc provided at check in, used card on file without asking). The rooms were ok but the bathroom and the walls were dirty and the carpet smelled like it needed to be cleaned. Also, breakfast was horrible. Overall the stay served it's purpose for one night but I won't be staying there again.

Property and room was good! Breakfast also was good and breakfast staff very nice. Front desk clerk had to be pulled away from his laptop on the couch to check me in at 8pm on a Saturday night. When i came back down to bring the luggage cart about 30 min later, he was asleep and a guest was waiting at the desk for assistance.

Worst experience for me and my wife the hotel was full with kids. Slamming doors pool was full the whole night and very loud ! Will never recommend one of these hotels!!

They gave me a room that was already occupied. Luckily there was no one in the room at the time. The other guests had all their stuff on the bed.

Didn't like the separate bathroom sink outside the shower area. Not a great design.

When I check in the front desk individual seen to be under the influence of something. He asked me twice if I received my room keys. When I came back down to get my belongings from my car, he was on the couch sleep. There was several guest running and talking in the hallway until 1am. The mini fridge in my room don't work and the floor in the bathroom had some sticky spots. This was a very disappointing experience and night at this hotel.

Everything was nice, but the wifi password they gave did not work and when I asked about it I didn’t get a response. Just annoying to pay for something and then not even get to use it. The stay was good otherwise

The room was spacious and a nice price. Breakfast choices were slim. People seemed to be having a nice time in the pool. Trouble multiple days with room "key" and confusion/lack of communication btwn staff about a room change. Staff was always very friendly, but glad I made sure to check out with a person and not just drop off the keys.

Well i really Didn't like that my covers was not clean an food want done all the way. An I'm gone now i didn't think to take a photo

The hotel was nice, and our suite was large and unique with two full bathrooms, which I have never had before in a hotel. The Hot Breakfast was really nice and started the day off great. And the location near Liberty University and Thomas Road Baptist Church was Perfect. I will stay here again.

Already recommending this hotel to friends. They had a huge eating area in the lobby. Coffee and tea always available. Popcorn in the lobby during the afternoons. Great, hot breakfast in the mornings. Small outdoor pool was fine when the weather cooperated. Gym had a few treadmills/ barbells... nice and cool. Extremely convenient location for visiting Liberty University. Tons of food and shopping just outside your door. Appreciated the room layout with the sink outside the bathroom. Beds were very comfortable. We stayed 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

This hotel is best value under $100

Initially, I was approved for early check-in, however, when I arrived, the front desk clerk told me that they didn't have a room available until 3pm. When they called management, I was then afforded early check-in.

The staff was extremely nice but the rooms are in need of proper cleaning. It’s really concerning.

Wi-Fi was an issue. Had to leave the property to get some work done. Front desk said it was like that for the past week.

The room was not clean. It smelled like piss the bed was made but completely FULL OF HAIR AND STAINS!! Therr was toilet paper and piss on both toilets. Absolutely disgusting

Was nice and clean but I noticed when I got home that they had charged me $25 extra. When I called they said it was for a dog which I didn’t have. My refund took over a week to get back .

Cob webs in the corners of the room, dog hair in certain areas of the room.

Great room and breakfast! The only complaint I have is that we paid for an additional hour for checkout and our keys were turned off 90 minutes before our checkout. Otherwise we will continue to use La Quinta.

We arrive at the property and dropped our items and left immediately as we had an event to attend. Upon our return around 11 p.m. the first night we found the AC in the bedroom broken and the carpet in the room was sopping wet. We called the front desk and they offered to move us for one night and said they would fix the issue the next day. They did fix the AC but did nothing about the carpet being wet. It was wet the duration of our stay and started to produce a foul odor. We checked out a day early because of the conditions. To make things worse, the manager overheard me talking to one of the front desk workers about it and had the nerve to make a joke by saying, “I hope you have a drier day.” Incredibly disappointed by this stay and the lack of professionalism by management.

It was a great location close to many restaurants and shopping. My room's bathroom was not clean and the shampoo and conditioner that was provided was used.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast food and coffee was hot and delicious. Location off highway with lots of food options.

Check in was fast. Attendant was friendly and fast. She gave us the informational print out they have, which was helpful and sent us on our way. Lobby is spacious and they have snacks and drinks for purchase if needed. Overall the room was good. There were some walls in the bedroom and bathroom that were dirty but honestly don’t know if they’d come clean with a scrub or not. Bed was comfortable enough but the pillows are very flat and not very comfortable. We used the pool, it was clean and had lots of chairs to relax. The location is perfect. If we come back to the area we would stay again.

Booked two nights. Cancelled second night with hotel permission due to noise, dirtiness and unsafe experience. Have email confirming cancellation. Checked out at 11am. Was still charged for two nights- hotel suddenly decided in the second day they were NOT going to honor the cancellation. Refused to refund or acknowledge cancellation. $451 per night!

We booked through a third party and confirmation said we could cancel and/or change up until 24 hrs before checkin. We tried to change the dates by one day earlier check out. The hotel refused and we still checked out a day earlier.

I do not have any dislikes on the property.

We booked for three nights. We left after one night. The non smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke. I could not stay in the room. Very disappointing.
