the staff was great and accommodating. The rooms where remodeled and looked great.
- 4/5
I would like breakfast time to be extended, 6-9am is too short, not everyone is on a business trip.
- 4/5
Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was clean and well maintained. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast.
- 4/5
Breakfast was decent. Staff was friendly. Elevator was broken; had to take the stairs. Halls were dark. Carpets needed cleaning.
- 4.5/5
Breakfast was real good. Pool was not open. I would have went swimming.
- 4.5/5
It wasn't applicable, but the elevator is not working.

Staff were amazing. Friendly helpful kind caring excellent customer service Broken elevator

The General Manager was just fantastic. He was very accommodating and super friendly. All the staff that we interacted with were so helpful and pleasant. One of the better stays I have had in a long time anywhere.

Bed's are very comfortable, furniture is in great shape, rooms had no oder, breakfast was good. Would stay here again for sure.
- 3.5/5
there were enough choices to not make leave hungry The elevator is still not working, so I had to take the stairs to the second floor. It was like that 6 months ago as well
- 1/5
Gone downhill. Room wasn't even fully clean. Bed sheets were not changed. We stay here often but they just lost our business
- 5/5
It was clean and the breakfast was great. Everyone was friendly.
- 5/5
Clean and nice!
- 5/5
The room was so moderly remodeled.
- 4/5
Clean
- 4/5
Very clean and room has many upgraded features with many USB ports and ambient lighting. The wall sconce is strange, having a cord draped across the floor to the outlet. Perfect location for visiting my Mars Hill student on a quick trip. Breakfast is minimal but it is included with waffles, bagels, toast, fruit, and coffee and juices. Staff are very friendly. Had a faint bleach odor in the room but it was clean.

Staff is awesome! Just need an exercise room
- 5/5
Great location! Great facilities Nothing came to mind
- 5/5
Staff is courteous, rooms are clean, and there is a continental breakfast. Nice hotel!
- 4.5/5
big pothole in the driveway
- 3.5/5
The room was clean, spacious and cozy. The driveway needed some attention but driving around the pothole was fine. The breakfast could have used more attention also. There was hardly any waffle mix in the dispenser and the coffee was only pouring light colored water. The rest of the stay was really nice.
- 3/5
The room was clean. The bathroom grout could use bleach/regrout in a couple spots.
- 5/5
Staff nice and everything spotless!
- 5/5
All good
- 0.5/5
It was very clean. They charged my card 3 times. The front desk did not act like he knew what he was doing. They did not have a notice on any site that they were remodeling. There was only grab and go breakfast. Nothing hot like it showes.
- 4/5
Liked everything
- 5/5
This hotel was the only hotel within a close enough range, so we booked for one night. The staff was supee friendly and helpful with directions and checking us in and out. The room did NOT smell like or look like someone had smoked there, we had been to a few hotels that claimed they were smoke free, but we could smell freshly lit cigerettes in the room. This hotel was exceptional in having a smoke free room stay smoke free. The beds were really comfortable, the pillows were really good, the blanket was warm enough to not have us grab our spare blankets for warmth. The room was very clean. Breakfast was good, almost your average hotel breakfast, waffle making machine, juices, oatmeal, eggs and sausage, milk, yogurt, etc. Since we were on the third floor we didnt really hear any construction at all. Our sleep was good, was not disturbed at all. Though when you first walk into the hotel, you can see the entire hallway that's currently being rennovated and smell the rennovation's wet paint and tools. I dont mind too much, as long as that rennovation smell didnt seep into the room we werw staying at. (Which it didnt.) Parking is a bit tight at night. But in all, it was a very nice stay and I'm definitely planning to come back with my boyfriend for another visit to Bare Dark Sky, some Asheville sightseeing, and this hotel will be the place I choose to stay the night again. :3
- 5/5
Very nice stay with no issues
- 4/5
Staff was nice, room was clean. Hotel is under renovation and most of the parking lot is taken up by big equipment. The walls seem paper thin so you hear everything!!!!
- 5/5
A nice place to stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. Great room. Comfortable
- 3/5
Under construction. But there were beetles on our ceiling, and
- 5/5
Perfect place to stay. Very secluded. Easy parking. Loved it.
- 2/5
We were given a room on the second floor during remodeling. The smell from the new flooring being put down was horrible so we asked for a different room. We moved to the third floor and got to hear the Jack breaks from every trucker coming off the mountain all night long. We got very little sleep. Breakfast will be better right? Wrong. Opened the pan to what was usually eggs and sausage (I guess) to an empty pan. I won’t stay here again. If you have to - get an even number room on the side opposite the freeway.
- 4/5
Tub/shower
- 5/5
Very clean and lit parking. Welcoming front desk personnel. I loved seasonal tea and hot cocoa welcoming me. Clean rooms, good bedding and quiet. My only complaint is that if breakfast ends at 10 then they should not put things away at 9:50. Wait until 10.
- 4/5
front desk staff very friendly and helpful. The surrounding businesses and the large dumpster near the motel aren’t very pleasant to look at. I was planning to take a short stroll after breakfast but decided against it. Otherwise, the view from the hilltop is spectacular.
- 1.5/5
breakfast was not much. elevator out of order
- 4/5
Easy in/out. Breakfast and front reception staff excellent!
- 2/5
Guy getting arrested in handcuffs when I pulled up.
- 1/5
They had workers doing work that wasn’t that bad but when you are try to sleep and they are hammering well that wasn’t good at all and the bed was so hard it was terrible we left Saturday we didn’t stay the other night that we had paid for and then had to wait 30 plus minutes to get somebody to come up there to check us out the worker told me I had to call the hotel to get them to come to the front desk unbelievable
- 4/5
Convenient location - renovations will be nice when completed
- 2.5/5
That my room was ready upon arrival The toilet wasn't connected. If you get up wrong, the toilet would fall over. The TV didn't work to begin with, and after calling the front desk, I was able to figure it out. After traveling 700 miles, why did I have to do someone else's job? But I had to do the work. The hotel was undergoing renovation, but this room hadn't been touched yet, and everything should've been working correctly. We went to dinner, and I reported the issue to the front desk, but the toilet was still loose when we returned. As well as the elevator didn't work, and we were on the 3rd floor.
- 4/5
The room was excellent, staff very friendly and apologetic about the construction and elevator being out of order.
- 4/5
It’s an older hotel and they’re working on upgrades. Simple and easy, nothing over the top. Breakfast area was well tended to and very clean. Beds and pillows were super comfy! Nice floors in the rooms. Spacious.
- 4/5
Great staff!
- 3/5
Breakfast was decent - hot eggs and sausage, waffles, coffee, juice, bread/toast, bagels, packaged pastries, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, yogurt. We stayed here mainly because of the location but if we were to visit the area again, I'd probably look for a different hotel.
- 4/5
This hotel is hidden up a hill, behind construction sites. Once there, the stay was ok, but it's pretty isolated.
- 3/5
For the price I had to pay for the weekend, I was disappointed. Had very low water flow at the bathroom sink. Also, NO Snack machine on the 1st floor. Every time I have stayed there it had snack machines. I also don’t like the price increase for the weekends. I most likely not stay there again.
- 5/5
No fault of the hotel but lots of construction going on. Maybe won't last long
- 4/5
Everything was fine.
- 3/5
I have stayed here several times over the years, this visit it is showing it's age. Refresh rooms.
- 5/5
Beautiful grounds. I have stayed here before. Never disappoints. Excellent experience!
- 5/5
Decor of room was very nice. Parking and getting to my room was very convenient and quick. Good breakfast is included.
- 4/5
Average accommodations - basic. Main issues: lukewarm water for shower ( never got completely hot) and lots of noise from highway especially very early morning.
- 5/5
Stress-free in every way.
- 5/5
Great staff service and enjoyed the morning buffet.
- 5/5
Very clean and very quiet.
- 4/5
I am so appreciative of Ashley at the front desk. She was observant and went out of her way to meet my needs even with last minute changes I needed upon arrival. The motel was quiet and clean and besides just being a little outdated everything was perfect. The sheets were not great as there was a good amount of pilling of fitted sheet making it somewhat uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Clean and safe
- 5/5
Excellent customer service and nice, clean comfortable rooms
- 5/5
Easy check in. Clean room. Good sheets and towels. Every thing was super!
- 3/5
If you have to stay in Mars Hill, NC this is your only option. Unfortunately, the hotel knows that and treats the property like it. It’s not exactly falling apart but it is clearly not well maintained. For example our room had a lot of small stains on the wall and all the furniture was damaged and fraying but not to the point of being disgusting. Also while it’s a non-smoking hotel it seems that somebody is always out the front door smoking. This cause the hallways to have a faint but noticeable smoke smell. If you don’t have to go to Mars Hill definitely pass on this place. If you do, it won’t kill you to stay here but you certainly won’t be happy.
- 4/5
Breakfast was good. Staff friendly
- 5/5
Overall it was pretty decent and affordable
- 4/5
Amazingly friendly staff, room dated but clean. key things not checked before we arrived - TV remote needed new batteries so we couldnt watch TV and the bath tap just ran all the time, no cold only scalding hot water from shower. We didnt complain or raise as we were hardly in the room so didnt impact us that much.
- 5/5
Great stay - the staff was amazing!
- 5/5
Staff were super friendly and ensured we were satisfied. Super clean just a little out dated. But staff informed us they would be remolding soon. But as clean as the place was didn’t bother us it was a bit outdated.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. They have a nice little breakfast are with good choices.
- 5/5
Rooms are a little worn, breakfast could use an upgrade. staff very nice and friendly.
- 4/5
The hotel is clean and quiet with an adequate breakfast bar. Breakfast room was nice and sunny with big windows. The glass-front elevator is interesting. The road up to the hotel, though convenient from the interstate, is in rough shape and indeed goes straight up in spots. Your navigator is not taking you up some curvy mountain road…the hotel is at the end.
- 5/5
The staff are the best part. I was there only one night. All those on duty were smiling, introduced themselves and bent over backwards to help me with my chocolate lab puppy.
- 4/5
Property was very clean, but needs updating. Bathroom grout around tub and floor was old and looked unclean. Carpet very old and needs to be replaced. Nice tile in foyer and bath, though. Bedding was fantastic, clean, and new.
- 5/5
Friendly and easy check in. Breakfast was great, nice variety. Room was clean, great water pressure for showers. No complaints!
- 5/5
Always top notch everything!! New worker Ashleigh was amazing and very polite!
- 5/5
Great staff
- 4/5
Convenient location, affordable prices, excellent for one night stay!
- 3/5
Room smelled like cigarette smoke
- 4/5
Well maintained, sits off the road out of view, but there is not suitable signage to help you locate it.
- 5/5
Property was very clean and affordable for the night. We had our service pet with us and had no issues whatsoever. Rooms were clean and nicely updated. I would absolutely recommend!
- 5/5
We were very happy during our stay, our dog was welcomed not just tolerated, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly, and the full breakfast included everything we could want.
- 3/5
Staff is Awesome! The room was in terrible need of maintenence and no ventilation in the bathroom, the 2nd floor smelled bad upon arrival and on the 2nd day.
- 4/5
Clean, friendly staff, typical yet good breakfast, cleaned room and made bed daily. Priced reasonably. Immediate area industrial but appeared safe. Would definitely stay again
- 5/5
Great place to stay, convenient to my child’s college!! Staff always great!!
- 4/5
Unappealing
- 2/5
Signage was poor. Different to find. Mold in tub caulking.
- 5/5
Very clean. Front desk was very kind and considerate.
- 2/5
The hotel needs some maintenance. There were lady bugs on the ceiling and walls.
- 5/5
Nice staff and convenient for visiting Mars Hill
- 5/5
It’s a really nice place with a great service
- 1/5
Cleaning crew were very early and loud. Front desk at check-out was training an employee and was argumentative with me regarding a receipt printout.
- 5/5
Good hotel. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
It was quiet for me which was great
- 5/5
Housekeeping comes too early. We did not have a do not disturb sign so they were there at 8:15 to pick up laundry. Check out time is 11:00 but staff came 3 times before 11 to try and clean. They are super nice people but that was annoying.
- 2/5
The outside of the hotel is deceiving. It looks nice. The room smelled strongly of cigar smoke. The carpet was filthy and obviously hadn’t been vacuumed in quite some time. The entire hotel is in need of remodeling. Everything is dated.
- 3/5
There was no hot water to our shower or sink, for over 10 minutes, in the morning. Mentioned it to the front desk, and he said OK. Hotel seems fairly new, but needs some repairs and painting done.
- 4/5
Good location for Mars Hill College visit.
- 5/5
Great room, clean and comfortable
- 4/5
The room and building were fine. Unfortunately, the hotel is located in a rather shabby area that includes several empty or abandoned businesses. Additionally, I could not get college football on the hotel's TV, due apparently to a business dispute between the cable provider (Spectrum) and Disney and/or ESPN. Though the hotel is not involved in the dispute, it COULD change cable providers or go to a streaming service. I had to drive 19 miles to a sports bar to see the game I was interested in. Another item that annoyed me was that my room rate for Saturday night ($299) was more than double the rate for Thursday ($110) and Friday. It is possible that I was aware of this at the time I made my reservation, but I did not remember that fact. If I ever visit the area again, I will pay more attention to price and do a better job of shopping around. This hotel has no frills and there is no way it's worth $299 per night any day of the week.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and comfortable and just what we needed. Breakfast was very good Continental and even had 2 flavors of waffle mix! Perfect location for Mars Hill, Marshall, Burnsville and Weaverville. Thank you!
- 4/5
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We are older travelers, so safety is important to us. We found the tub to be slippery and slanted so that we were fearful of falling.
- 4/5
Easy access from interstate. Daytime manager had attitude about my service dog. Smoking area not covered so was useless when it rained.
- 5/5
It was very clean. Exceptional value. Friendly and accommodating staff. We would definitely return.
- 4/5
This evaluation is difficult to follow. We had a good experience.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful throughout the stay, but especially at check-in. This property is convenient for me and I enjoyed touring Mars Hill for dining experiences.
- 4/5
Clean but not fancy. Friendly staff, easy check-in. Convenient to Asheville.
- 5/5
A room for people with disabilities that I requested was available upon check-in. The front desk staff informed me of a problem with a loose seat and how they were going to fix it. Then they also offered me another room where seat was not loose but it was on the 3rd floor. I agreed with the swap to the 3rd-floor room. I appreciated the staff informing me of a problem and offering me another room
- 1/5
We were sleeping and a hotel worker came in to check the room at 8 in the morning, they don't respect, they don't have instructions that I was still in the room? which vulgarity
- 4/5
Coffee very inadequate not much choice in way of a breakfast.
- 5/5
My husband and I had a change of plans and we needed a single overnight stay. We booked online about an hour before arriving. Everything went smoothly and it was very convenient & quick.
- 5/5
Good location. Excellent price.
- 5/5
We came into town unexpectedly due to a family emergency. We were able to book quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any needs we had. The beds were comfy. The room was clean and overall it was a good experience.
- 4/5
Room was clean and comfortable. Only issue was a tour bus parked under the check in area and had to walk through the rain to get around it while checking in and out
- 5/5
Check-in reception was very friendly, great mountain views out the window, and clean and comfortable. Breakfast is hot and delicious! It's a good value and we plan to return!
- 4/5
I would like to see extended breakfast hours or offering non-perishable items for late risers.
- 5/5
Very nice stay. Clean , very comfortable beds. Great Breakfast choices. Will definitely stay again!
- 3/5
Well outdated hote. It was a nosey stay once night time arrived. You can hear evert door slammed, hear people conversation in the hallways and next room. The toilet power flush was the most annoying cause you could even hear your neighbors. The hallway light shined bright through the cracks in your door the hotel was so hot we had to turn on the a/c which was a horrible mistake. The a/c and heating unit was even louder than the toilet flush. It was a horrible two day stay. Not to mention this was the first hotel i ever stayed at where breakfast was over at 9 am
- 5/5
Well located wrt highway and Mars Hill.
- 5/5
Also assisted us in the moving to the new room. Thanks
- 5/5
Staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel was under construction, yet you could barely tell due to the cleanliness associated with the construction site. The breakfast was just right. I have zero complaints about my stay, and would definitely return in my next trip to the area. Outstanding work.
- 4/5
Very clean. Staff friendly. Great location for Mars Hill University visit. The only opportunity for improvement is the shower was messed up and very little water pressure unless it was turned to extreme hot. But it wouldn’t stop me from staying there again if in the area.
- 5/5
The property was fine its the surrpundings that make it feel not as safe
- 4/5
Mars Hill is a cute town. It's possible to walk from the hotel to downtown, where there is a large and beautiful new grocery store and a pet-friendly coffee shop. The small college campus is cute and has a nice walking trail. The hotel staff were very friendly and also dog-friendly. Breakfast options were pretty basic but adequate. Some renovation was going on, so there were trucks in the parking lot. A little careworn, but quiet and clean.
- 3/5
No hot water for shower, There was hot water in the sink, so it had to be a shower valve problem. Staff was dismissive of issue.
- 3/5
hotel gave my room to another family when I was already in my room....I had my luggage and other items in my room ...I checked in around 1pm....... I came back around 5pm to find a family of 4 with a dog in my room....I WAS NOT HAPPY,,,and even though they seen my luggage they would NOT LEAVE>
- 4/5
Buen hotel para el camino; buena acomodación y un desayuno completo muy bueno
- 5/5
Very nice visit and friendly staff
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. The breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend this hotel.
- 1/5
The air vent in the bathroom was filthy. There is only 1 drink machine, no snacks, sn it only took cash. The wifi is not protected so no way to use my streaming device. I paid $500 for three nights and it was a ripoff
- 5/5
Very satisfied with stay. Office staff and cleaning staff were excellent
- 4/5
Everything was great except the night we got there we were told they didn’t have Rooms to accommodate pets on the first floor and had to pay an additional $25 per night on top of the already $25 pet fee
- 5/5
Had a good time with family staff was great
- 4/5
It was close to the area we was looking for.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly.
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable! Friendly staff!
- 4/5
They ran out of bars of soap and gave us shampoo to us as soap.
- 5/5
Stay warm good!
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfortable and staff was friendly/hospitable. Second time staying in this hotel--and I know I will again.
- 4/5
Great
