Room was clean. Price was great, area was very nice. Will stay again!

Room was very clean, just a little dated. I do wish the bed was more comfortable I will definitely stay here again the next time I am passing thru!
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and accommodating with my late arrival.
- 5/5
Check in was easy, room was very clean and quiet. No USB ports and I forgot to get the wi-fi password. We were only there 12 hours and I would go there again. I loved that my car was right outside the door. Parking spaces are plenty wide. There is a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Everything went just fine.
- 5/5
Yes we found what we needed for our stay.
- 5/5
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and it was quiet. Slept well there.

Everything thing worked out perfectly. Would highly recommend this locally owned motel.

Great guy in the office. Quiet, clean
- 5/5
Outdated but very clean. Comfortable beds. Safe area Walls are a little thin. I could hear the people talking in the next room but I just turned on some white noise and slept comfortably. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a 1960’s type of motor lodge and could use updating, but it was clean and everything worked. The manager was very friendly. I would stay there again.
- 4/5
Everything was great.
- 4/5
Could use some updates and general upkeep.
- 4/5
This is a place that I'd consider again. It was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly as well. The rooms are in need of updating, but it appears that they work hard to maintain them.
- 4/5
A quaint older motel near Monticello Railway Museum that has better rates than any other motel nearby. The owners were very polite and helpful.
- 3/5
Price was affordable
- 4/5
Great value

I had to find a room fast (11:00 PM) due to my original hotel lost power. It was out of the way and was farther than Google maps indicated, but it worked for over night. Owners were great!
- 3/5
Everything was nice but my AC did not work, which ruined the whole experience. I’d gladly stay here during the winter time, just not summer!
- 3/5
None chain budget motel, dated but OK, not near anything
- 2/5
The room next door was very noisy. I was only able to get a couple hours of sleep.
- 4/5
Good basic motel. It was clean and safe. No ice, food or anything more than WiFi and basic stuff like towels. But for the price it was fine.
- 4/5
It’s clean but a little old, neighbor is really noisy…
- 5/5
It was clean, command I could park by the door. Very happy.
- 4/5
Our only problem was that the Pillows were flat, but this little place was clean and warm, had hot water and was convenient for our needs.
- 4/5
I stayed here when attending a recent HS choir reunion. Overall I found it clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful. I don't mind that the place is very old, but there are things that need to be kept to up like grouting the bathroom and floor tile. Also the walls are very thin, so I could hear the alarm go off of the drunken guy next door for over an hour at 5 am on two mornings.
- 5/5
Lovely couple that owns and operates it Very friendly and helpfull Would definitely stay here again Great value for money Large fridge microwave Very comfy Bed
- 5/5
The owners are very nice, it is very quiet.

Spacious, comfortable
- 5/5
I will stay there again

If you want a clean room with a hot shower that won’t break the bank, then this is the place. Older ma and pop that’s close to the interstate. In room coffee. Didn’t check the Wi-Fi cause I use my hot spot. Tv was good.
- 5/5
Great motel with easy access from I-72. Felt safe.
- 4/5
Very quiet and pleasant owners. Close to city center
- 5/5
Easy check-in, clean room. The lamp by the door didn’t work but there were other lights. Monticello is a nice small town. There is a beautiful park right across the street from the motel.
- 5/5
Comfortable and clean.
- 4/5
Good value for the $$$ and the Staff was very friendly!
- 5/5
Great place nice people and wonderful town
- 3/5
There was no service except to put new towels in the bath and take the others. No changing of the sheets. There was no ice at the location. The air conditioner worked well but the room was dark and the water in the shower/bath was brownish.
- 5/5
All was well. The only thing is the bath soap was the size of a quarter and the beds were never made the four days we were there. Cool comfortable room.
- 5/5
It is very simple, comfortable, and clean at a very reasonable rate.
- 3/5
Quite utilitarian and clean. Very basic but better than most for the price.
- 5/5
Very clean and well kept up and not a trace of that old smoke smell which seems to plaque nearly all the other facilities which I have stayed in recently. A little off the path, but quaint. First time I have been given a real metal room key , instead of a computer card,,in a long time. And I liked it.-FBP

Adjacent property rundown. Plus looks like construction storage area.
- 5/5
Our stay went very well. We were in town to visit our son at U of I. The hotel was like 20-25 mins away from the university which was ok with us. Room was very clean and neat. Friendly service. The hotel was also located in a nice quiet area as well. Would stay again.
- 5/5
I really like the owners. They are always nice and friendly.
- 4/5
Despite the place looking dilapidated, the room was surprisingly clean and had shampoo, hair dryer, fridge, microwave, and complimentary coffee. Much better than the Motel 6 in Springfield IL that was noisy and didn't provide shampoo or hair dryer. We liked Foster Inn so much, we chose to stay an extra night.
- 5/5
Nice location and friendly owners
- 5/5
Nice staff, in and out, clean rooms, big rooms, no mess or smells
- 5/5
The couple who own this are very nice. It is not a fancy place. Bed was comfortable and it was a good value. Someone else commented on the tiny bars of soap. I like that as big ones dont get used up and are thrown away and thay is wasteful. I used to clean condos in Colorado.and threw away a lot of soap
- 1/5
It was raggedy and filthy
- 4/5
The only issue was the car parked outside our door (a silver Jag) playing loud "bass thumping" music for over an hour around 5am...the room was clean, the beds were good enough and I would stay there again.
- 5/5
It was inexpensive. It was easy to get to. It was comfortable for a one night stay. The owners were a bit stingy with soaps (two tiny round bars) and other toiletries (none), and with towels. But, it was better than many places that charge several times more.
- 4/5
Very basic motel, but that is all we needed. Motel is exceptionally clean and quiet despite being fully booked. The owner was very friendly and went out of his way to be helpful. The cost is especially reasonable. I would stay there again.
- 4/5
Very reasonable and the room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Was very happy with the accommodations
- 5/5
The owners were very pleasant. I enjoy baths and often find that the plug system broken in chain hotels and motels. I was delighted to be able to have baths!
- 2/5
We were hopeful that the room would be fine. However, the room smelled musty when we arrived. The lever to drain the tub would not stay down, you had to hold it to get the water to drain from the tub. The bath towels were small and extremely thin, and they were rough. We did not receive a coffee packet for our second morning. We do not recommend staying here.
- 5/5
Not new but clean and comfortable and very affordable. Just what we wanted for our road trip
- 5/5
I was driving across the country by myself and thought that I could make it to my destination but ended up being super tired before I could get there so I booked this place to rest up and just finish the drive the next day. This hotel is super cute and the owners were such lovely people! It was such a good value for the price and I felt very safe staying here which can be hard to find as a woman traveling by herself. The bed was comfy, the shower water was hot, the room was very clean, and the air conditioner kept the room nice and cool! The lighting wasn't the best in the room I was in, but I honestly didn't mind at all. If I ever need a place to stay in this area again, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you again to the owners for being so kind and friendly. This was such a memorable stay!
- 4/5
I had a comfortable stay and the bed was great. Property and room were dated, but a very good stay.
- 5/5
Front desk lady was very nice room was clean
- 5/5
Very good property for price. No frills (pool, etc) but one third the price and quieter!
- 4/5
If you are looking for a very simple place to stay that is clean and has hot water, this is a good spot for a quick overnight atay
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable!! I would definitely stay again!!
- 5/5
Quiet stay, worth the price
- 4/5
What I like the most is the low price & kind staff.
- 5/5
Always love coming to the hotel..
- 1/5
To start things off I checked into my room around 2pm and the bed and pillows was as hard as a floor. I drove 9 hr before checking in I was sleeping and come 2 hour after check-in the owners wife beats on my door till I answer the door and said no smoking in the room I told her I don't even smoke she kept saying it over again then the next day the cam in my room and turn off my heater this place it a POS I won't be back to this hotel
- 3/5
The chair in the room was ripped, dirty and broken. It needs thrown away. It smelled like old cigars and musty. The key got stuck in the door. It is right next to a bowling alley:bar, so expect to hear all the coming and goings well into the night/morning.
- 4/5
Dated facility but clean. Beds are comfortable.
- 4/5
The hotels in the area for that night were in the $200-$300. Were it not for the Foster Inn, I don't know what I would have done. I am grateful there are still clean mom & pop motels around for situations like this.
- 4/5
Pretty good for the good price
- 5/5
Old but clean , good place for the money
- 5/5
The owners were incredibly hospitable. The room had comfortable beds, hot water, and nice amenities. Will stay again next time we're in town!
