Motel In The Pines

Stayed for 1 night in April 2026. Room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was very quiet even though it is close to the interstate. I will definitely stay again when in the area visiting family.

The music at the bar next door was so loud and didnt stop till late. I would not stay here again!

Room was clean, ac worked great and the hot shower water was perfect. Staff was really nice.

Air conditioner wouldn’t turn off and wasn’t cooling very well. So I opened windows.

The motel is very clean and in a beautiful place. Bed was comfortable and all amenities worked great. The only thing that bothered me was the motel staff peeking into my windows while I was still there ( it started at 00830 and check out is 11 am) I even waved to let the guy know that I was still in the room but he continued doing it

After hours, you have to call on a phone outside for assistance. Although I did have to wait for the front desk person to meet me in the office, the check-in process was quick. The room, though tidy, smelled of stale cigarettes and unwashed bodies - man-sweat that had settled into the fabric of the mattress. While the sheets seemed to be laundered, you couldn’t escape that underlying smell. Reviewers who characterized this motel as clean have been doing folks a huge disservice. I visited on a Saturday night. The motel is situated behind a bar that features live music. Given that the rooms all face the street (and thus towards the bar) we had a front row seat to very bad music. The selections were good; however, the band was just loud and pitchy, not very good

It is a dated, but clean motel. Nothing fancy, just the basic necessities. But it will get the job done and help you get a good nights sleep. Solid AC and comfortable mattresses. Water pressure in the shower was awesome!

There was a live band playing music in the parking lot 50 feet from our room. We had to get up at 3:30 AM We are vendors at the Farmers Market. Sleeping was a challenge

I did really like how this little motel was set in the Pines and true to their word. It was mostly clean, but when I moved the bedside table a bit there was a lot of dust and debris still left on the floor that never got vacuumed or swept up and there was a spider coming down off the ceiling at one point. But it was a little one. My biggest thing was after the bar music band stopped playing at 10 o’clock. Patrons took it to their rooms and continue to play loud music into the wee hours of the morning, and it was really hard to sleep. I think the motel should have a policy that when the bar band stops people that are staying in the motel need to be respectful and stop as well. Otherwise, it was a great experience!

A cute place to stay to get up in the pines. A fun little car and food truck right there with out door music. We will be back

Perfect location right behind a bar and BBQ grill. Affordable price, nice staff, overall great hotel

The office is unmanned. You have to call an attendant from the phone on the wall to get someone to check you in. This was strange. And then the bar/restaurant next door had live music outside in the back patio/pavilion each night starting at 6 until 10 and was loud and annoying. We are not opposed to live music but had we known it was going to be so loud, we would not have stayed there. And the freeway noise was loud too.

I was going to the Overland expo and it was an easy ten miles away.

What a hidden gem! Our room was clean and very large. We stayed on the second floor balcony room. The shower was basically like being at home and even had an exhaust fan and a heater for the floor. I will definitely be back

The biggest bummer is that the bar in front of the hotel had live music and it was LOUD. I had ear plugs in and could still hear the music. It lasted until 10:30 so I was thankful it didn't go until midnight but I was looking forward to a quiet night's sleep and it was anything but. The room was moderately clean but there were splashes of what I'm hoping is food or beverages on the wall and hair in the tub. There was plenty of parking, which was a plus. I think if you are a night owl, it would be ok but if you are hoping to go to bed early, I'd look for somewhere else to stay. Also, I don't recommend the food at the food truck in front of the hotel. It was not good.

Clean spacy room. Parking was very convenient. Choice of eateries very limited. Not close to Sedona at all. When we booked it the advertisement said it was 9 miles from Sedona. Not so; 40 - 45 miles from Sedona. Having said this, it was a nice property.

Parking was right out side the room. The staff was very helpful. We actually changed our travel plans on the recommendation of the staff! The bathroom floor area was heated, which I loved!

No frills motel was exactly what we needed for one night. Clean and recently updated with new heating/cooling system. Owners don’t speak English so they had to have their daughter on speaker phone during check in.

Booking.com suggested this hotel in a search in Sedona. Listed as less than 10 miles away. That was misleading since it's about an hour from Sedona.

No shops around, one restaurant across the street from motel but food wasn't great. Waited almost 45 minutes to get food and they weren't crowded.

The location was close to the golf course The lighting was very poor. I didn’t like the location of the AC unit as I was trying to put makeup on. Why is the hairdryer in the bathroom? There wasn’t any mat in the tub to prevent from falling and the tub was slippery.

This is a Motel. I paid for what I got. It was clean and conviently located by the freeway as an overnight stay when traveling.

We like the location because we hike often in Munds Park. I should have done my research before booking this motel. I am extremely disappointed. I booked two nights and paid $340 with taxes. I stayed there with my family one night and we left the second day at 11:40 pm. Even though the bed was not comfortable, we lowered our expectations and were happy with a warm room and hot water. However, we got zero sleep the first night. The springs in our beds were extremely loud to start with, but at least we were able to control our movements and turn less. However, we were also located on the first floor and there was another person on the second floor above us (second night there were what sounded like multiple people - possibly with a kid?). People above were constantly stomping through the night (seriously they would not go to sleep- and i get it they can do whatever they want in a room they paid for), and everything sounded as if the ceiling over our head was about to collapse at any minute. And no, i am not exaggerating. I am sure the owners will be reading this, and i am encouraging them to spend a night in the room 102. Anyway, we tried to sleep the second night, but the party on the second floor would never ended. So we got dressed up, picks up our stuff and left. We went to the front office to leave our keys, but there was nobody there. They have a phone, outside the office building, that you pick up that calls the owners in the house next door… so we decided to just leave our keys in the room. I am not worried they have cameras, and can see everything we did. Also, there was no tv channels available (even though there was tv program printed out); however we were able to use YouTube after installing the app, so we were happy about that.

I give this a five star review with a caveat. It is super clean and the owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. They definitely get five stars. The room is a little small and has neither a closet nor dresser, so our clothes were literally everywhere. With four people in one room, it’s hard to stay organized. There is a really great coffee shop just 2 minutes away. It’s not far from Flagstaff or Sedona, so if you’re going to either destination, Munds Park is a great place to lay your head. If you stay here, though, bring your own toilet paper, as theirs is not desirable. Other than those caveats, you will enjoy your stay. Oh and they have Smart TVs so you can log into your own streaming services.

The room was very clean. I am the type that wipes everything down. The clothes were clean even when wiping the vinyl floor.

Staff was amazing. Very understanding, friendly, quick, efficient, and super duper sweet. Clean room as well and a nice A/C system. Super cold so they have multiple blankets for you 😊

The owners should have let us know there was live music both evenings in the adjacent pub. We probably would have found different accommodation if we had known.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The linens (sheets & towels) were nice and clean. The room was well cleaned but still smelled a bit old and musty. The little balcony was nice. The room was spacious and we appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. Although we didn’t feel unsafe, a deadbolt on the inside of the door would be a nice addition. The parking lot was hard to manage - lots of large trucks and trailers taking up a lot of space. Location was just what we needed.

A cute motel right in the pines. The best part is sitting on the patio where you look out on the trees & watch for critters. If you like some nightlife, it's a perfect spot next-door to Borracho where you can go for fun bands on the weekends. Not a new motel, but kept up nicely.

We had six rooms in our group for our 40th anniversary celebration and the staff made sure our rooms were near each other, and they were friendly and efficient!

I always like to stay on the 1st floor but here I’d ask for 2nd floor! Very loud with guests upstairs creaky from the flooring. You hear every step! The rooms were clean and the showers had nice pressure and really hot water! AC worked great too. Comfortable sleep firm beds .

We love staying at this property when we attend events at the Baracho as it is in the same parking lot. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Room is spacious and has a balcony. Will def stay here in future.

Simple overnight stay, nothing fancy. Stayed with my husband and son and no issues or worries. If traveling alone not sure id feel safe. Heavy truckers presence and hanging out on stairs drinking. Which is fine, however if i were traveling alone it would make me uneasy.

We stayed at this hotel because the venue we were seeing people play at was right next-door- staff was friendly, area was beautiful. And very convenient to walk to our destination.

When we booked our stay at this hotel we requested a second floor room, but when we got to the hotel we were told the entire second floor had been book by a construction company for their workers who were doing road repairs in the area. The problem was that there were several, probably 4 men to each room and they were constantly walking around, probably in heavy work boots. It was extremely noisy as the floors creaked and popped with each step. They quieted down by about 10:00, but then were up walking around at 5:00 a.m. until 6:15 when they left the property. Also, some of them were gone in the evening and returned to the room at midnight, waking us up. We spent 2 sleepless nights in this hotel. It was so frustrating. Then the cleaning staff forgot to clean our room and we had to call down to the office late in the day to have them bring us clean towels. It was by far the worst experience we have ever had at a hotel & we will never stay there again.

This place lacked any on site amenities.the rooms were clean but very basic. The check in process was terrible. The onsite office attendant did not speak english and had to use a translator through the phone and he did nit know how to operate the system and we were unable to check in until his daughter arrived 2 hours later.

Our room was wheelchair accessible and convenient for us. If there was a comfortable chair in the room, it will be super. Dinning chairs were hard to sit on for a long time.

Wonderful quiet destination

Upper floor was noisy till around midnight, 2 inches of snow on the ground and nobody shoveled, following morning it was icy as can be... But we didn't sleep well.

The trees

This place is conveniently located off the freeway. However, the sound proofing is very good! You will not hear cars/trucks passing. The property is very clean, there are few restaurant/bars within few minutes walk, and gas station across the street. The room I was in was #102. The room, bed, pillows and bathroom were also very clean. The only thing I noticed was the bathroom door is so close to bed #2.

Great little place in Munds Park. My daughter lives in Munds, but her house is undergoing renovations, so we booked here. It's been around for a long time, but has been fairly recently renovated. Nice, clean room. Updated bathroom. Mini-split heater was awesome. Great service for a late check-in. Overall, very happy. Will stay there again.

We had trouble with our RV while heading to Peoria. We're so lucky to have broke down right in Munds park where Motel in the Pines is. The family who owns this motel was so nice and allowed us to have a mobile mechanic out to fix our RV and get back on the road during our stay. It's a nice place to stay during your traveks or checking out the area.

The room was very clean and extremely cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable. Being that the motel is on the side of the highway, I thought I’d hear highway noice, I heard ZERO noice and slept all night.

I stayed in unit 108 (in the second building). The room is clean and met my expectations. The shower has a crack in it that should be resolved to prevent water damage to the structure. The building owner does not appear to be following fire wise guidelines as there are thousands of dead pine needles and brush around the property. This would be a high risk property to stay at during the harsh and high fire likely summer months.

Next door is a bar and a taco truck ( which serves other food too). Since it was game night for the Cardinals, the small bar was packed so there was nowhere to sit so we left. Some of our group bought food from the truck which they said was good.

I knew we were in for a rough time when I had to use the phone outside the office to call the desk clerk to check in. This was before 19:30 and she immediately let me know that she was tired and I was interrupting her dinner. We further inconvenienced her when we asked for recommendations for a place to have dinner. Next came the room. It was large but it had three different types of flooring, hangers that you couldn't take off the rails to hang things in, no plastic bag for the "ice bucket", a lamp that wouldn't work, and the WORST bed I've ever slept on. I swear, you could feel every coil in the mattress. Bottom line: I've stayed in many a Motel 6 that were far better than this place - and for half the price. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. You'd probably have a better stay at the Bates Motel.

I traveled Arizona in 5 different motels in touristic areas and Phoenix. This one was the best among them with a similar price bracket (and it was a Saturday to Sunday night).

This was probably one of the most easiest checkins we have ever had. They were kind when we called, ready when we arrived, no problems finding our reservation and extremely kind when we arrived. Would stay there again when in that area. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy.

This is our 2nd stay here and it’s in a great location for the activities we enjoy.

We have stayed here a few times before, and our room was nice and comfortable. It looked as if it had recently been remodeled. We had a nice patio that backed up to the pines. Our only problems were: (1) No one was staffing the office. When we arrived, the door was locked, and we had to use the filthy phone outside to call someone. They arrived quickly. When we had trouble getting into our room, I had to call using that phone again. (2) The second problem was not their fault. The only restaurant in town serving breakfast decided to be closed on Wednesdays. We were there on a Wednesday and had expected to eat breakfast there. The closest breakfast place is about 20 miles away in Flagstaff. Other than those two items, the stay was pleasant.
