We love staying in unique properties and adore old architecture. This is an old train station.... next to functioning railroad tracks. The trains run all night and our room was overlooking the tracks... we didn't sleep well, but wouldn't miss the experience.

Location and history Wedding on Sunday closed down the entire lobby which limited guests use. Slow service in restaurant I'm assuming due to a staffing shortage.

Architecture

Union Station is perfectly located in the heart of Nashville. The architecture and decor is beautiful, and the room we had was really spacious. The Bar Car in the lobby had great cocktails - A.T. took care of us well! Brunch at Stationery - food, drinks, and service - was outstanding.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and it’s just a short walk to the lively Broadway area with countless options to hear live music. We stayed in a spacious double bed room. Check out the pickle ball courts and bar outside under the road above. They had live music and an extensive cocktail menu. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our stay exceeded our expectations.

The room was quite big . Taking showers was another thing, the water never got hot. Their breakfast service didn't start till seven so you couldn't even get coffee. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Excellent hotel, and excellent service. The bell men go out of their way and are extremely nice. The front desk clerk was extremely helpful and we felt very welcomed. I highly recommend and will be back.

love where the hotel is. beautiful place. food in the restaurant was mediocre at best. and pricey as hell for what we got. our room smelled like a kitchen. in fact all our clothes and suitcases smelled terrible when we returned home. I had to air everything out. very disappointed.

The property was absolutely phenomenal. It has this classy,historian look to it. I was in absolute awe. The rooms were very clean and grand. We had dinner at the Stationary which is located inside. Hands down the best dining experience I have ever had. You either have to pay for valet parking or park off a distance, pay, and walk a mile. It was quite cold and rainy. That’s on me though for not just doing valet.

Very dissatisfied. We spent a lot of money on 2 king suites for New Years and was not told we would not have access to a restaurant or bar due to a wedding. We were not allowed in certain areas, called for extra towels and never received. Will never visit this hotel again.

Due to limited space, please feel free to contact us for any additional comments! Hotel is beautiful, some staff like valet, concierge and front desk were very nice and helpful with questions. We did enjoy our room and the convivence to downtown Nashville and Whole food store where we could go and grab any snacks and/or personal items. Here are a few comments we feel were important and needed to be addressed. The Conductor's Hour does not happen as advertised on your hotel site; we tried this on two separate occasions during our 5 day stay. The bar staff was average, a total disappointment. The Stationairy restaurant, only ate there one time during our stay. The serving staff was average and food extremely disappointing, far below our expectations. Unfortunately, the only meal we had was on Thanksgiving Day, we ordered the Thanksgiving turkey lunch you had on special. Our food came out at room temperature, was not hot, very disappointing. We also felt that two of the traditional Thanksgiving Day food mainstays were not included and we inquired with our server and was told not available. The first thing being no bread or roll and the second thing we asked our server about desert options and he informed us that there are no desert options, we believe this due to his limited English. When we left the restaurant, we saw deserts at other tables. We were disappointed, we did not experience the AAA 4-star hotel as advertised Hotel needs to step it up to maintain a AAA 4-star hotel.

Clean room. They were able to check us in on arrival instead of waiting until the afternoon. I feel that was the best service we could have received since we had flown in and needed to rest. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again should we go to Nashville.

I found a roach in the bathroom. For the amount of money per night with no free parking, no free breakfast, no shuttle. It is a nice hotel, not convenient.

The staff was very nice. The property was clean and well kept. They were having issues with room service, technology and telephone communication during our stay which they mitigated by comping a meal. I appreciated that. The history of the rail station made this a very fun and interesting stay.

Seemed to be only one experienced bar person and if he was not around it was all a bit hit and miss

The hotel building is very impressive. The main atrium and bar area was inaccessible on 2 of the 4 days of our stay due to a private function, which is not great for hotel guests. The room facilities are spartan. There was no tea making facility, towelling robes or literature about the hotel facilities . Room service Breakfast tea was delivered minus milk and the used cups and tray was not removed from our room for the entirety of our stay. When we were ready to leave and asked reception if they could book a taxi to take us to the airport, they said they didn’t do that and gave us a card to arrange one ourselves. We have NEVER had this from any other hotel we have stayed in. I approached the concierge for help as we needed a taxi quickly, they were extremely helpful and booked one immediately. The restaurant service and food was good.

The property has kept the wonderful station architecture and used the space well. The staff were welcoming and the room we had was spacious as we were 3 adults sharing. The food was not as good as the price of it would imply. We had a very salty salad and the coffee was weak, however both these things were remedied by the wonderful and efficient staff. If I were to stay again I would ask for room on the upper floors not overlooking the reception. The rooms on the ground floor with a patio would probably be lovely in warmer times!

The bar and restaurant staff don't speak English and unable to make things correctly. For the price, the food is bad. Not sure how they can expect people to recommend this place. I was told to amend this review because I was honest.

A truly magnificent hotel!

Aside from being a beautiful building, in a fantastic location… The staff here went above and beyond. Everybody was super kind, polite, accommodating. They helped our group take pictures. Brought me flavored coffee syrup. Just made our girls Christmas trip special.

Room service and walking distance to broadway street

We are from Indiana coming for a night to go to the colts Titan football game. We have never stayed so I wanted to visit The Union Station. From the moment we drove up we were greeted by valet service which is included in your stay. That was fabulous. It’s tough to find parking in downtown so this service was excellent to us. The fee hotel might stay is a little pricey but I didn’t know if it was because of the events going on in town that raised them, but we settled for the higher rate to be close to everything.. We had a very quick check in and the hotel lobby is breathtaking. The painting and architecture of the train station is pretty awesome! We eat dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. The Stationery. Very beautiful scenery, wrapped in glass to capture the downtown night life. Our meal was great. I recommend the King Salmon, delicious. Special cocktails hit the spot . There was live music in the lobby which is nice if you just wanted to sit, chill, kick back and enjoy the evening. They have a few restaurants and bars. Staff very accommodating! Our room was very clean, now this is my only complaint, our room air handlers were connected to the kitchen. So at times it smelled the steak charbroiled smell the entire night! Which is crazy to say but it did! Shower was stocked with your shampoos and conditioner in case you needed. Very nice room! Bed was very comfortable, I would stay again definitely, we love it! It’s so close to your night life bar scene, Uber or walk! I totally recommend to anyone coming to Nashville to stay. The smell from grill directly in my room via air handlers

The hotel itself is beautiful. A step back in time to this spectacular structure makes you appreciate the older architecture. After 8pm the noise (and I wasnt facing Broadway and was on the 7th floor) was insanely loud. ALL NIGHT LONG! There was a train every night (overnight) that went by and made so much noise… never again!

The restoration of the station is incredible. Beautiful building. Staff were friendly but on the slow side. Stood at the desk to check in for 10 minutes and slow service at the bar too. Room had only one coffee and no cups. Small complaints not to overshadow the beautiful facility.

What a beautiful hotel! We absolutely loved it! The staff were friendly, available and it is easily within walking distance to all the shops & restaurants. The uniqueness and beauty of the hotel is worth spending a bit more than your normal stay. However, the nightly rate was extremely comparable and even less than many other surrounding locations! We would absolutely return! It is an experience I wouldn’t pass up!

Had to be escorted to room because key system was down. Coffee pot didn’t work. Did not have wash clothes in room. Asked for them and never got them. Was not pleased with experience there.

Very nice hotel. Loved the atmosphere and ambiance of the old train station. They had a Harry Potter 9 3/4 themed event in the train car bar. The proximity to where we wanted to go downtown made it so convenient to walk everywhere. Our room was very nice and tastefully decorated. The view from our giant window into the lobby was excellent. The bed pillows and lack of extra blankets was disappointing but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The property was beautifully and the room was very clean. Our room was under the stairs so noisy when people came up and down. Our room also smelled like fried food - we think the kitchen was located above. Otherwise excellent. Rm #208

Our stay was wonderful, and the hotel is beautiful. There was construction in and around the hotel, and enough of it to be a bother, but it didn’t detract from the beauty of the hotel, and the service we received from the staff. I would definitely stay again.

There were some issues over the weekend that we stayed here. Unfortunately Broadway was being worked on so access to the hotel was a little wonky. Also a wedding was going on and we were asked at least three times as we tried to get to the desk to check in if we were supposed to be there (sorry I had shorts on not a black dress) it made us feel unwelcome and it like a guest. We found the front desk people off putting and not welcoming either. We asked twice for caffeinated coffee kuerig cups on two occasions. Not sure why they insisted on delivering only decaf. I loved the facility I just wish the people who work there represented the respect and welcome the hotel deserves in its workers. And there was a gecko in my bathroom!

Can’t say enough about the excellent staff at this hotel. They completely made our stay exceptional. Alway friendly and ready to be there for you. Beautiful hotel amazing rooms but the staff was the best!

The valet driver, James, was so awesome. He was very friendly and served as our conceirge offering great suggestions for food and other venues. But i was disappointed because it was very cold outside and management should have provided propane for the 2 outdoor heaters. This was shameful on management part because I asked if he can light heater for all of us and he commented there was no propane in either one. We spent $600 for one night stay and that's how employees are valued? Sad.

Restaurant had slow service. Appeared to be short staffed. Bar prices were higher than any place we went to in Nashville. Was not pleased with size of bathroom. So narrow and no where to put anything on counter. Also didn’t know they were doing remodeling floor above us. It was very loud and bothersome. Took almost 5 minutes for water to get hot.

The interior and exterior of the hotel is gorgeous. Unfortunately, like many reviewers have said before, the rooms and service are pretty disappointing.

Beautiful adaptive reuse of an existing Historical building. An excellent Downtown location. Easy Valet parking. A Hotel well worth the "Circuses". You need to give this facility a try.

No option but valet, and they literally move your car 20 feet to a parking space. Ants in the room, on-site food prices extremely high. Great location but overall, i would look elsewhere

Beautiful place

Only thing I didn’t care for was the loud country music in the lobby and on the sound system in the breakfast room. I actually like country music, but this was Nashville pop at it’s worst and didn’t fit to the otherwise classy surroundings. Would only be ignorable at a much lower volume.

Loved the bartenders and waitresses at the restaurant l. The food was exceptional. The breakfast sandwich on croissant with potatos was outstanding. I was worried about it’s proximity to “the action” and was pleasantly surprised that it was a short walk to everything! It is also a stop for the “hop on, hop off”. I felt completely safe walking at night, which was awesome because I tend to be a scaredy-cat and overly cautious.

Friendly staff, easy check-in process. Rooms are small for the price. Air condition kicks on frequently and room would alternate from freezing to hot all night long.

Union Station is just amazing!! Gorgeous lobby, great bar and our opulent suite had amazing huge windows with a 20ft ceiling. I’m in love with this hotel. Historic perfection!

Step back in time and enjoy this restored building. Everything was beautiful and the breakfast in the resturant was amazing.

Union Station is located within minutes of walking distance to downtown. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a getaway to Nashville.

Great location. Walking distance to downtown events, museum, arts, bars, restaurants. A beautiful quiet place if a break from the high-energy buzz is needed. Beautiful, authentic place with friendly, helpful staff at every position.

The hotel is amazing. Beautiful architecture, clean and all staff member we met was very attentive and polite.

Check in was quick and i think they were training so we missed out on important information that you have to ask to have your room cleaned. Minimum we should be provided with coffee without needing to ask but instead, i asked room service for coffee for $30. We went to explore the property and was locked out and needed to find a way around the property to gain entry and it was a little sketchy around the area as it is on the train lines.

The historical and uniqueness of the property

It was great, they checked our bags early after our flight and hit the town until our room was ready. Beautiful place, small inside bar, but great restaurant across street for breakfast and lunch. Location was great for walking or short Uber ride. And allowed us a day rate to stay for a late checkout til 6:30pm for our 8:30 flight home.
