Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a mix of positive and negative experiences. Guests generally appreciate the friendly staff, convenient location, and quiet rooms, but express dissatisfaction with the lift situation, room cleanliness, and maintenance issues.
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Convenient and easy location
- Poor lift service, especially during peak times

The lady Jessica at the reception is very helpful, she went out of the way to help find my ways in New York City, thanks to Jessica, she is phenomenal.
- 5/5
Two things to note: 1) Bathroom very small. 2) Elevators could get some TLC. (the floors are old and look dirty they made a lot of scary noise.) It was still a great place to stay.
- 4/5
The staff was awesome! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
the hotel staff was very friendly, breakfast was great, rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
- 5/5
Everything it was perfect, the hotel is located on a perfect area, the staff it was nice and helpful. I definitely recommended
- 2/5
Hotel is extremely run down & old. Stay anywhere but here.
- 5/5
We loved our stay!! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. They had the best customer service ever! From the front desk clerks (specially Faith) to the breakfast attendants (Cesar and Kiernia), all of them were very kind, warm and attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and had a lovely stay. The only thing we had a bit of an issue was the elevator the first day because one wasn't working so it took too long to go up and down to our 17th floor but it was repaired fast. Also the room (for 3 people) and shower space (for tall and big people) were a little small.
- 5/5
The staff were the best thing about the property. Susana, the manager was awesome. She's very helpful and pleasant. That kind of attitude rubs off on the staff, and makes for a friendly helpful environment.

Old hotel, didn’t smell great, the elevators were the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. The elevators were small and extremely extremely slow. We had to wait more than 20 minutes on several occasions to get an elevator down from the 24th floor. Apparently there is no service elevator, because the hotel cleaning staff was also using the same elevators as the guests. This is the third Hilton property I have stayed at recently, where the elevators have been slow and/or out of order. I am strongly reconsidering my loyalty to Hilton.

Wonderful staff! We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Great location! We were only there one night but they head our bags the entire next day while we toured the city. Staff very nice.
- 4/5
The location is great. The room was clean and breakfast was good. My stay was two days and I was not able to sleep in as the cleaning crew started to clean a little after 6 am and it was noisy in the hallways with the banging and the talking. I complained the first day and their solution to this issue was to offer me ear plugs. I could not wait to get home to get some sleep.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room within walking distance of many points of interest. Friendly, helpful staff & excellent breakfast options.
- 4/5
Location is dated and needs an astetic over-hall. Staff is amazing
- 4/5
Loved the location and the staff was excellent The rooms were VERY small, I had to get another room to accommodate my family
- 4/5
The elevator not only took a while to arrive at times, but it definitely felt like it needed to be serviced rather soon. I am also unsure if the shower pressure was room specific to me, but it was definitely lacking enough pressure to leave me fully satisfied with my shower.
- 5/5
Great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great gor work or vacation
- 5/5
All the staff was very kind and the room was cleaned every day! The breakfast is fantastic!
- 4/5
We are most grateful that they accommodated early checking for us. It was a therapeutic overnight for my son who was mostly going to spent 95% in the room The elevators needed maintaince:: Lights flicker Elevators have a bounce
- 5/5
Very nice place . Thank you ovetall
- 5/5
It was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much
- 5/5
Cesar was amazing & so kind! We loved seeing him at breakfast & he made a fantastic waffle for us!!
- 3/5
The breakfast that was included was beneficial for our travel however, if you didn’t get there before 9:15 a.m. you were left fighting for the scraps and find a table. When asking staff for more food, I was met with an indifferent stare and told no there was nothing else available. Affordable and the location was good for The tourist areas how we visited.
- 5/5
Great location if interested in being close to the subway, penn station, or bus terminal. Close to the different musical broadway theaters (only a block or two away) as well. Breakfast was included and there was also a small gym.
- 5/5
Good price for location
- 5/5
The stay was absolutely great from the staff being so helpful. They took our luggage and held it until the room was ready. Breakfast each morning had good options. Room had plenty of toiletries for use. Room was very cleaned and cleaned each day for us. We will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
An older building that needs a little fixing up. It is a few blocks from the subway, so that is convenient. The breakfast is basic hotel breakfast- nothing special. All in all, it is an okay place to stay, but I have stayed in hotels with similar cost and amenities and would probably stay at one of those rather than return.
- 5/5
Staff and breakfast was five start

The staff was extremely unfriendly and completely unhelpful. Before heading to the airport, we left our luggage in storage for a few hours. Inside one of our bags, we had a sealed box of cookies. To our surprise, when we collected our luggage, the cookies had clearly been tampered with — some were on the floor and others were outside the package inside the bag. This was completely unacceptable and made us feel very uncomfortable and disrespected. My children were very disappointed. We asked to review the security camera footage, but the hotel refused. We also requested compensation for the damage and inconvenience, and they offered absolutely nothing. What makes this even worse is that I have been sending emails for over a month trying to resolve this issue, and they still have not responded. Terrible treatment, zero accountability, and an overall awful experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 3/5
Elevator needs maintenance, the lights flicker and floor needs to be replaced. The gym is very basic. Ice machine on our floor had no ice for the entire stay. Our room must have had a leak and the ceiling was very poorly repaired. The bed mattress was smaller than the frame, there was 4 metal pieces sticking out from the bed frame, we had to put my husbands shoes over them so we didn’t hurt ourselves if we were to get out of bed in the night. The bed sheets had smaller than holes in them. Location is very good. The breakfast was pretty good, enough to get you going in the morning, nice to have that included. I do not think the hotel was worth the price we paid for our 3 night stay.

- 3.5/5
Great location. Friendly staff. The breakfast was good. Only two small elevators which led to long waits. Room layout was cramped due to a closet placed right outside of the bathroom.
- 4/5
breakfast
- 3/5
The elevator lights flash and myself and another rider became nauseous from the flashing strobing lights. Didn’t get to have the breakfast as all food bagels were gone and not replaced, fruit was super soft and brown bananas. I was shocked as normally good breaky at this chain.
- 4/5
The location was close to subway and times square. Theaters close. The elevators were very slow, showers a trickle of water came out. Breakfast pretty good.
- 5/5
We will be back
- 4/5
Rooms are decent. I would stay again because staff were nice and helpful.
- 4/5
Location of hotel was great near subway and Times Square. Room was clean and good air conditioning. Only 2 elevators and during breakfast hours the elevators were very busy waited about 20 mins at one point to get on an elevator.
- 1/5
The next morning I was called in my room from the front desk thanking me for letting them split us up. Like I had a choice?!! Then we needed to change rooms for the second night. One room didn’t have a thermostat. It was an old fashioned wall unit that was either on or off. One bathroom had mildew in the grout and peeling wall paper. The elevator floor was coming apart and the lights flickered constantly like a horror movie. The dining area had furniture the looked like it needed replacing 5 years ago. Not the Hampton Inn mattresses like other locations. Don’t book here.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Staff were very helpful and kind in accommodating our need to store bags on day of check-in and check-out.
- 1/5
Hotel was dirty. Stains everywhere. Toilet seat was broken when we first got there. Just horrible.
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast staff very helpful
- 4/5
We stayed in a room on the 19th floor for our family of 4 . Thought I was getting 2 Queens but got 2 Full-size beds. There was not much room to move around the room. There were 6 rooms per floor. The elevators were quite old, had some issues but staff were quick to get them running smoothly. Overall property was quite tight compared to other properties further away from Midtown/Hills Kitchen. Very helpful staff from check-in, to breakfast, to check-out. Reasonable walks to Time Square, nice food options, and easy Uber pick up / drop off. Bathroom was nice with a nice hot shower. Beds a little harder than I am use too but comfortable.
- 4/5
The elevators were very sketchy. Lights flickering, short circuit sounds. Rooms and hallways are quite small. Room was very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly!
- 3/5
Rooms are smaller than usual and walls are thin. Breakfast area and lobby are too small to accommodate amount of travelers. Elevators are slow and too small for amount of guests. If you’re looking for a place to return to crash after a long day, it will do.
- 4/5
Very convenient location. I went to the Knicks Watch Party. So, I loved my overnight stsy!

- 5/5
Much better than the reviews would let on, but I agree the elevator is annoying.
- 2/5
The hotel did not live up to its billing. Amenities mentioned were unavailable. There were only 2 elevators and it took forever to go up or down. Breakfast was great EXCEPT there was not enough room, guests moved chairs and table and if you left a table (with uneaten food clearly displayed) you returned I 5 minutes to find other guests had disposed of your food. A real mele.
- 2/5
The location is good & the the staff is courteous & helpful. The rooms are so small that a family of three cannot move around without being inconvenient to one another; the quality of the mattress could be better. The breakfast area seems dingy and it isn't because the staff; they are working hard to maintain the place. The breakfast area is too small to serve the amount of customers they have; it is chaos; the breakfast quality is poor: cheap breads & light coffee. The elevator tight and it squeaks when you ride it; also, the poor staff have to share the elevator which is constantly full for them to be able to get in to do their work. I do not recommend this hotel; it was expensive for what I got; I tried to cancel and move to another hotel but the hotel would not reimburse the two extra nights so these were four uncomfortable nights @ $400 a night. :-(

It was a nice place to stay. It was what we needed for a few days. Close to a lot of places including the theater we went to.

Hotel is in a good location and close to fun things to do in the city… The staff were helpful and friendly. Air conditioning in the room was excellent

Room was clean and well air conditioned, staff was friendly and the breakfast was great.
- 5/5
Best breakfast! Clean and peaceful
- 5/5
Perfect location for 1st time visit, clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff
- 4/5
Service and cleanliness was excellent. Bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure was great. We were on the 14th floor and it was generally quiet inside at night but could still hear street noise, which is uncontrollable. This hotel is old and needs updating, especially the elevators. For 29 floors the two elevators are inadequate and shabby looking. I have stayed at many Hampton Inns and this was dingy. Free breakfast was standard.
- 5/5
The air conditioner worked great. Staff at breakfast were happy and very helpful. Special shout out to the amazing waffle maker! Front staff were very pleasant!
- 3.5/5
Good, attentive staff. Shout out to Caesar who mans the restaurant in the mornings! He's so cheerful and warm. And very helpful! Front office staff were helpful too. Before coming i read reviews saying previous customers had to wait a long time for the lifts (aka elevators) . This is partially true if you use the lifts during peak hours (eg. Around breakfast time) but otherwise we didn't have to wait more than a few minutes for the lifts to arrive. The lifts themselves are fast but the hotel has only two of them which is why you sometimes have to wait a bit longer. Also.. the rooms are smaller than they look in the photos but if you're using the hotel just to get some rest in between a packed schedule, that doesn't really matter. Staying on the 7th floor, We weren't disturbed too much by the constant sirens new york is famous for.
- 4/5
Clean room. Great location.
- 4/5
Staff was well exceptional from the front desk to the breakfast staff. Elevator issue is only complaint. Felt bad for work staff had to use patrons elevator. Aside from that stay was quite pleasant

Convenient location, great breakfast and housekeeping.

Overall, good hotel and room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The elevators seemed very old and lights were flickering at times.

- 4/5
Every polite staff. I felt very welcome when I walked into the establishment. Hotel was very warm and inviting.I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
- 4/5
Good wifi. Room is too tight for twin beds. No adequate lighting. Breakfast buffet too crowded. More tables please. We cant even finish food. More party keeps coming. At least a staff is needed to accept diners to control the guest crowd.
- 5/5
Great place to stay for work travels.
- 4/5
The room was pleasant. The hotel shows its age. Linens were clean. It was very nice to have breakfast and coffee available. The gentleman manning the breakfast and making waffles deserves an A+. If attending a Broadway show, plan on a considerable walk. For the price, not a bad choice

I love this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Jessica at the front desk is awesome! Informative and helpful with anything. Cesar does a fantastic job with the breakfast. Everything is clean and comfortable. I would come back again!! And recommend this hotel

Some of the staff members were rude and some were very kind especially the one serving breakfast and the lady at the reception on night duty were phenomenal. Thank you for being so kind and courteous to the guests. They topped the other bad experience we had from the staff during the data. The room cleaners were on time and made our beds so nice and clean after our long day! Overall good experience, the photos are bit deceiving though.
- 5/5
Customer service was great some of the staff spoke and was helpful and some walked right back and didn't open their mouth. I guess that's the New York way. But overall the stay was great.

Location and friendly staff, good breakfast
- 5/5
Excellent helpful & kind staff!! Breakfast buffet was good! Kids loved the chocolate chip cookies mid day!
- 2/5
Majority of the room had damage. Cabinets broken, trash bins had no bags. There was an old towel in the closet from the last guest in the room. The shower drain did not work properly. I had to cut my shower off because it begin to flood.
- 3/5
It was okay but smaller rooms for 2 queen beds
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Checked in and our room's shampoo was completely empty. Hand soap and body was were also in each other's locations, with no way to switch them ourselves. The staff member who came to replace our shampoo left muddy footprints in the shower and on the towel. Elevators are shaky, creaky, and the lights flicker. Will likely stay elsewhere next time
- 3/5
breakfast was probalbly the best part of the stay. Many issues with elevators, but other than that and the rooms on the small side, stay was good.
- 1/5
Whole hotel was very dirty. Lifts nightmare. Renovation ongoing without notice and tons of waste outside. Tea/coffee luke warm. Breakfast space tiny and dirty and too busy to get seated. Chaotic. Location good but wished had booked alternative hilton as this is the worst I have ever experienced
- 3/5
The building is a bit worn out and feels tire. However the beds were awesome after walking 10 miles a day. If you are large, the shower stall is very small even for me a 200lb person. Rooms are small, but it was secure. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast can definitely be improved with better sausage and less water in the eggs. A larger room would be better. Room air conditioner and heating worked perfect. Only 2 elevators are always packed during breakfast hours (6-10AM) and takes about 15 minutes to catch one enough for 2 people. It is a 32 floor Hotel.
- 4/5
The hotel is conveniently located, and near all forms of transportation. Staff was attentive and competent. I did not care for the breakfast, and the elevator wait time was much longer than i am used to.
- 5/5
Good stay, convenient
- 5/5
Hotel staff were very kind and helpful, guests spilled milk, they clean up right away, and try to ask for opening seat for guests during busy breakfast time, speed up the elevator to the lobby when it's not enough room to fit more guests, providing free cookies for guests, yummy..location is convenient to go around Manhattan, will definitely return to this hotel.
- 5/5
Breakfast was excellent. Host in dining room was very helpful and friendly. Room was small but adequate. Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
Céntrico, cómodo, desayuno, limpio, buena atención en recepción!
- 3/5
Room was clean and contained a fridge, hairdryer, large tv and a wardrobe. Curtains were dirty and flimsy and did not block out the light. No safe in the room. Small coffee machine provided was not adequate for two guests. Bathroom with walk in shower was good. Plenty of hot water. Only two lifts in the building meant waiting at least a minimum half an hr to use. Breakfast area far too small to accommodate the large number of guests staying and menu very poor. Only plastic knives, forks and spoons available? Wi-Fi good. Staff friendly and very helpful.
- 4/5
Room was clean & tidey. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Room was comfortable. Breakfast staff was great, and remembered me each day asking if I'd like a waffle.
- 5/5
From check-in to checkout the staff was wonderful and made our stay enjoyable.
- 3.5/5
Good
- 1/5
One major complaint- the elevator. I was on the 31st floor and the elevators went out one afternoon. I had to take 31 flights down. But more so- there is no security in the elevator. No key require to get to your floor. Anyone can walk in at anytime without any security. I was very uncomfortable with that. The hotel was mobbed. Won't stay there again
- 5/5
They also offer free luggage holding so if you arrive early or leave late so you don’t have to sightsee all day with your luggage.
- 5/5
Excellent place! Incredibly clean and perfect for walking around to almost everything in Manhattan! I would 100% recommend this place if you’re looking to stay in Manhattan
- 4/5
breakfast was fantastic
- 5/5
Welcome bag nice touch
- 5/5
This was a perfect location for the price if trying to be close to Times Square. Hotel staff "Faith" was really professional and helpful. I would definitely stay at this location again. Breakfast was good. Hotel provided all my needs!
- 4/5
It was a quiet room. Breakfast was fair. Staff very helpful.
- 4/5
I know it's NY but that room was so small and our view was the wall of another building because it's that close
- 4/5
Older property that could use some tlc. Breakfast was ok but Caesar made waffles and made sure everyone had everything they needed.
- 5/5
My experience at this location was amazing, the room was clean, the hotel staff were kind and nice. During breakfast time, Cesar, the waffle man, made the whole environment super and you felt at home.Great location to access all the local attractions. I was on the 2nd floor and in my opinion, this was perfect as I didnt need to wait for the elevators as the line can get quite long. I was able to just go up and down the stairs. Saved a lot of time.
- 2/5
In the room, the TV reception was poor and required some improvising to function properly. The beds were quite firm, and the pillows were very flat, making it difficult to get comfortable. We also found that basic amenities like shampoo were missing from the shower. To their credit, management did try to make things right by providing 15,000 Hilton points, which was appreciated. However, due to the overall experience, I would likely choose a different location for future stays.
- 4/5
Clean room. It was missing a few things that I had to contact the front desk about. Quick to resolve the situation. Air conditioning worked great. Shower was kind of sketchy - drain cover was not attached. Shower door did not slide right either. If you just need a bed to sleep in it works. Continental breakfast was good.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay! Breakfast bar had a good options. The room was clean, they kept up with bringing us new towels everyday. Times Square was right around the corner. 5 minute walk.
- 5/5
Great location and friendly staff. Room was great. They could use more elevators.

The staff is so friendly and nice. Cesar who works manage the breakfast is an awesome guy. Personable and friendly. Always helpful while taking care of the guests. I enjoyed the food which was always fresh and delicious. The staff at the front are great too. I enjoyed this hotel very much. I would definitely come back soon.
- 1/5
Trash in front. Smells bad
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
Staff is friendly, especially the guy making the waffles in the morning. The issue with our stay is that the elevator buttons broke, and we weren't notified. So we waited and waited for the elevators, wasting precious time (we were on a tight schedule) until we finally gave up and joined the others walking down the narrow flights of stairs. They sent a text message shortly after check-in, so they have a system to notify all guests, but did not send out a text letting guests know not to waste time waiting on the elevators, and they had two choices: 1) call the front desk to request a stop on a floor, or 2) take the stairs. Next time, please send out a courtesy text message to guests.

The elevator takes forever and I was staying on the 28th floor. Lobbywas tight and there was construction going on. Breakfast was ok and one of the cleaning ladies walked into my room while I was coming from the shower. I was getting ready to check out I’m not sure why she would want to clean before I checkout. It was ok.
- 4/5
I was there for the weekend and I enjoyed my stay the guy that checked me in was nice . My stay was short but I enjoyed it !
- 5/5
Excelente servicio, me encantó demasiado! Cuando limpia la habitación la dejan olorosa. Limpian muy bien, el desayuno es excelente con una alta variedad de alimentos, calientes. Mi mejor parte fueron los waffles, el señor que los hace fue muy amable con nosotros es un excelente empleado!

Front desk staff and breakfast staff were both wonderful!

Clean room no issues
- 4/5
The breakfast was wonderful. They have plenty to choose from in well stocked. The air-conditioning in the room was kind of strange, but it did keep the room cool. The room was clean look good.
- 4/5
The hotel staff were lovely, made the trip so much better. The room itself was small but good for our group. We were close to the subway station which helped us out a lot! Would definitely come back here for our next trip!
- 5/5

Please check to see if they are finished with renovations before stayjung, Their first priority starting first thing in morning and tan all day was for the people delivering and waiting 17 mins for the elevator and half the time not working was very inconvenient! And they really had no apologies for that. They were quick to pick up phones though.
- 4/5
Zay at the front desk & Cesar the cook were both extremely helpful as well as polite!
- 5/5
A slight pain was the renovations meaning lift access and times was restricted.

Stay Dates: April 19 – April 20, 2026 I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square South and was deeply disappointed by the lack of cleanliness and the dismissive attitude of the staff. For a branded hotel, the experience was unacceptable. The Issue: Debris & Poor Air Quality Upon checking in, the room was cold, so we turned up the heat. Immediately, the AC/heating unit began spewing black dirt and debris all over the room. As seen in the photos, this soot covered the bed linens and the floor. To make matters worse, a foul, damp smell began emanating from the unit the moment it was turned on. Management Response We immediately contacted the front desk to request a room change, as the bed was covered in particles and the air quality felt unsafe. Our request was denied. Instead of moving us to a clean room, they sent someone to "clean" the unit. Even after this attempt, the debris continued to fly out. The Result: A Sleepless, Cold Night Because the unit was clearly malfunctioning and dirty, we had to turn it off entirely to avoid breathing in the debris. We asked for a portable heater to get through the night, but the hotel did not have one available. We were forced to sleep in a cold room with dirt on the carpet and bedding.
- 3/5
We arrived @6 to find a Hugh amount of mattresses outside the hotel one looking like some one had been shot. The hotel was crowded with workers making it difficult to get around. Fortunately it went up from there. The rooms were ok just about what you would expect in NY. The property needed some updating. The hotel was very crowded and made using the elevator difficult @times. The best part was the breakfast. Cesar (who handled it) was great, friendly and really helpful. Overall I’d give this a 7 out of ten. Not bad but not great either.
- 5/5
Proche de time square

Staff was beyond excellent, great location
- 4/5
While the elevator wait was up to 25 min due to updates on rooms the staff was excellent and breakfast was top notch. Great location near everything
- 4/5
We were on the 20th floor, the room was small but cozy, it is a great location for walking around the square . Very convenient for seeing the sites

Everyone was courteous and helpful. They gave us a welcome basket with goodies and bottles of water. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel was easily accessible to many sites. I'd definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
Clean rooms, amazing staff just wish there were more elevators to avoid the long wait time
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing. The staff was impressive and always ready to help. The room was very clean. We paid $85 for valet parking and it was well worth it. We were close to everything even though we got lost a few times. The area was really safe. Breakfast was good. A wonderful employee made waffles of a few varieties to anyone who wanted one. He waited on us constantly.
- 3/5
None of the ice machines worked. Staff was professional and accommodating. Rooms were basically clean but the lobby was a disaster
- 1/5
They changed our room with our belongings without notice. They said they called and I didn’t answer but it’s weird i have been text messaging them. I didn’t receive any calls they could have text.
- 4/5
Very clean, convenient location. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast !!!
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
The best part of the breakfast are the waffle, and the Dominican guy who makes them is really attentive.
- 2/5
Hotel very dated, but they are currently upgrading rooms, as all the communal areas were full of mattresses waiting to go to rooms. It was clean and staff were absolutely lovely. Location fabulous. Breakfast basic, but nice. A
- 4/5
Extremely pleasant and very helpful staff comfortable beds, extra pillows , good water, pressure, and a hot breakfast included ! Hotel is undergoing some remodeling at this time.
- 5/5
nice room
- 3/5
Although the staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. We were concerned with the renovations going on. There were dozens of mattresses sitting in the lobby & outside the hotel. At first it was new mattresses waiting to be taken in. Then there was old mattresses waiting to be picked up. This in and out of the mattresses caused only 1 elevator to be available and staff was running it manually. This caused very long wait times every time we needed to go to or from our room. (15min plus waits each way) If we were on a low floor we would have used the stairs but we were on the 26th floor and 1 member of my party is pregnant so the elevator was a necessity. There has to be a better time than a fully booked weekend to change out mattresses. When I contracted them about this through my booking agent they denied any type of credit back. They need to have it on the site as under renovation so you are aware of it before booking and can decide.
- 4/5
For breakfast was great perfect for our city weekend
- 4/5
Overall it was fine. The room was a little abused meaning wall paper old and peeling, rug looked very worn, bathroom old but functional. The breakfast was also fine, nothing special but tasty enough and included in the rather high nightly rate. However, the hotel decided to change all the mattresses in the hotel all at once. It was a nightmare. They worked all day even the weekend, trying up the 2 small elevators so you had to text the fest to send you an elevator most of the time and then wait for about 5-10 minutes. Hope you weren’t in any rush. The staff did their bit but it was a horrible plan and my room never did get the mattress while I was there.
- 5/5
Excelente servicio del hotel , el desayuno muy bueno y la atención de César en el área del desayuno es espectacular, súper amable . El staff del lobby muy atento / lo único que los elevadores tardaban mucho por la cantidad de gente quedándose en el hotel
- 3/5
The breakfast was excellent, room good.
- 5/5
Breakfast ready and appreciated
- 4/5
Friendly staff, Breakfast was better than most.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Perfect location, nice staff
- 5/5
everything was great. the room was clean. staff was very friendly. there are no complaints from me.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff was extremely helpful and nice and breakfast was good everyday. The two elevators were super slow but our overall stay was great.
- 5/5
Muy amables y serviciales
- 3/5
Hotel is very dated and the room condition was sub-par.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay!!
- 5/5
Everything is excellent
- 5/5
We had a great stay at this hotel. The location was perfect close to everything and easy to get around
- 5/5
Room clean, amenities plenty, staff were friendly, Jessica was super helpful and fulfilled my text requests promptly.
- 5/5
Great location and the room was clean.
- 3/5
- 4/5
All of the staff were amazing & great location
- 5/5
- 4/5
Front desk staff was really nice at check in.
- 5/5
The staff, Jessica and Saud, were so helpful and thoughtful. The room (standard size option) was clean and roomy with a nice sized mini fridge (not always typical in an NYC hotel room!) and located in a great part of downtown Manhattan. The hotel manager checked in via text several times to ensure everything was good and there were no problems. Absolutely will stay here again and recommend to friends and family visiting NYC.
- 5/5
We had a few minor issues with our room. There were corrected, and we were satisfied with the results. Jessica was amazing with customer relations. The hotel is close to Times Square, which was perfect since the purpose of our travel was to see Broadway shows. If you stay and are looking for great take out food - highly recommend GyroKing. If you want a quick beer or drink at a super reasonable price, head over to Rudy’s Bar and Grill. We will be back again.
- 5/5
Lovely room , and good staff , good location , bonus hot drinks all day
- 5/5
Spacious room, staff is extremely nice and attentive
- 3/5
Room was tiny but ok. One of 2 elevators was not working while we were there. Crazy long waits for the remaining elevator. People were giving up and walking up/down 20 floors if they didn't want to wait. Breakfast was good but very crowded. Service was excellent- Cesar was at the waffle bar - he was the best ! Wonderful service, very attentive. Not the hotels fault but the street was closed 2X during our trip. We had to drag our bags from 8th down as 39th was totally closed twice (not the hotels fault obviously). All around the stay was fine.
- 3/5
Room was in good condition. Very poor water pressure in shower. After a few minutes in the shower the water pressure went to a trickle.
- 3/5
Room was dusty but staff was amazing.
- 5/5
Everything. and the manama was exceptional! When I return to New York City, me and my family will be staying there!
- 5/5
Great location, great front desk team!!
- 4/5
The front desk employees were wonderful, helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean. The only complaint is that the bathroom in our room didn't have any heat.
- 5/5
Thanks for everything.
- 5/5
Everything
- 1/5
Room was dirty and hotel very run down. Breakfast area was far too small for size of hotel. Lifts not working so issues getting to and from the room on the 19th floor.General manager used the ( i will have to leave this conversation due to my blood pressure ) poor excuse and just didn’t like being complained to. Avoid at all costs
- 2/5
The elevator wasn't working, the floor was always wet.
- 5/5
Very good
- 4/5
everything is good!
- 4/5
Location
- 5/5
All good and the food to, the man in the kitchen area was so kind
- 4/5
Pretty nice, but frustrating only one elevator was in service.
- 5/5
Yes, everything was perfect
- 5/5
Front desk was excellent. I’ll give them a 10.
- 5/5
Great service & friendly staff
- 2/5
Amenities...elevator only one working. Ice machines not working only one. Breakfast area was not clean. Not enough staff working at serving time.
- 3/5
The decor needs some updating - the lifts in particular are very run down and slow running which means lengthy waits for guests. My room was a very generous size, particularly having the two beds.
- 5/5
Excelente lugar muy central y cerca a todos los lugares hermosos de New York no te cobran más de lo que parece en la aplicación de expedía muy recomendado
- 1/5
There was a bug on the chair Cable Plug was half broken Picture didnt match Digital keycard didnt work when i first came Staff was too manipulative Charged me $150 refundable deposit for a already defected room hotel
- 5/5
Room was clean, quiet, and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Very friendly front desk staff. Close walking to Time Square and many other popular places.
- 5/5
The breakfast was delicious the bed was comfortable and the location is perfect ♥️
- 5/5
staff was incredibly kind and responsive! we loved our stay!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful
- 5/5
Great staff and clean room.
- 3/5
Room was clean but very small. It was hard to fight the foot traffic to breakfast so we didn't get to eat there during oir stay. Guests have no respect and trash the food area. Elevators are a nightmare! 2 elevators for 30+ floors of 6 rooms each. You could wait 40 minutes and not find one that wasn't already full. We walked 19 floors of stairs on 3 separate occasions during our 2 night stay. Great proximity to time square and the area felt relatively safe. Staff was friendly.
- 3/5
The only negatives were that breakfast was quite poor, breakfast area was small and untidy and people were fighting for a table. Also limited selection. Breakfast is included with the room so we weren’t expecting a perfect experience but it was poor. Also, there is no one checking room numbers at breakfast so you could easily walk in off the street and grab a free breakfast. It was also one use plates, knife’s, forks and coffee cups etc. Also the elevator is very frustrating. There is only 2 elevators for what is quite a large hotel. At peak times we sometimes had to wait nearly 15 minutes to get the elevators. Given that we were on the 22nd floor we didn’t fancy the walk down the stairs. Huge bonus that all city taxes are included in room price. All in all would stay at a Hampton again however I may choose to try one of the other Manhattan based Hamptons next time.
- 5/5
Hotel muito bem localizado, pois saímos a pé para vários lugares e também com metrô a 3 quadras. Hotel generoso, pois sempre tinha no lobby chocolate, café e cookies a vontade. Excelente custo x benefício.
- 5/5
Overall experience was excellent!❤️
- 4/5
- 3/5
Horrible lifts during peak breakfast/checkout times between 8:30 am and 10 am. Had to wait 15 minutes just to get a lift to go down. Cleaning staff also use the same lifts and don’t have a dedicated service lift.
- 3/5
Nice and clean. Awesome location.
- 4/5
Yes , clean room
- 5/5
This will definitely be my go to whenever im in NY. The location was great. Parking all over. So worth it. If you want a great place, secure and just quiet and nice. This is the place.. Thank you..
- 5/5
I loved the way the front desk staff employee took care of me and was very helpful. I love the breakfast and the quality of care.
- 3/5
Disappointing! The entire hotel is “rough around the edges” and needs a significant overhaul. However, all staff I dealt, other than housekeeping that were consistently rude, were very helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
The
- 4/5
Overall we had a good experience but the showers were not great the water would not drain and when we arrived our product were empty, also two elevators for that many floors makes it extremely long, while checking out we waited 40 minutes for elevators and eventually resorted to carry our 5 suitcases and bags down the stair we were on the fifth floor, except that it was overall very good and we enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
They could put cheese
- 4/5
Location and the kitchen attendant/ waffle maker where excellent
- 2/5
Great location, tiny rooms, poor breakfast. Overpriced.
- 4/5
Staff at front desk and at breakfast very helpful
- 5/5
Spent 5 enjoyable nights at The Hampton over the new year. My room was available early, check-in was easy & all the staff were friendly & helpful throughout my stay.
- 4/5
Clean room, staff
- 5/5
Cesar and Victoria at the breakfast area provided excellent service. They kept the area clean, stocked, and were very welcoming to guests throughout the trip. Superior service.
- 2/5
Breakfast area always packed and unkept. Although, the saving grace to this hotel is the staff. They are always willing to help.
- 3/5
Staff was great. Room was ok. Bathroom exhaust fan was broken. HVAC unit thermostat wasn't working properly and rattled. Alarm clock was set for a 6:00 AM wakeup by previous occupant. Breakfast was good but room was crowded. When leaving luggage they just left our bags in an open room (fortunately nothing happened).
- 5/5
Jessica at the front desk was outstanding! She was so friendly and on top of everything. She made our stay wonderful and is the whole reason I would return to this hotel.
- 5/5
Great place! Plus kids friendly
- 4/5
The room and staff were great. Location was perfect. waffle man was fantastic but breakfast was a little disappointing. Overall we had a great time and would definitely go back
- 4/5
The hotel itself is very clean and excellent location. Staff was great, very helpful and friendly. Maybe a little short staffed at times. Other than that we had a good experience.
- 4/5
Good location, friendly staff, and it’s nice to have a hot breakfast available until late morning. The only downside is the elevator—if it were upgraded, it would be much better; otherwise, be prepared to use the stairs during peak hours.
- 3/5
Yes, the staff is very attention.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, great location
- 5/5
Wonderful stay with our dogs! Check-in was incredibly easy and smooth, which made traveling so much less stressful. The staff provided excellent customer care from the moment we arrived—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. We truly appreciated how pet-friendly the hotel was and how comfortable they made our entire stay. Everything felt well organized and thoughtfully handled. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling with pet
- 5/5
In every way everybody always checking everyyhing okee😊
- 5/5
Even though it was extremely busy this time of year the staff went above and beyond to help throughout our whole stay. Would recommend for good location for sight seeing thank you
- 1/5
- rooms are small - in cold weather had no running hot water in shower. Team was quick tonrespond and help on the issue but lost half a day of my trip because of it. - broken amenities, ac had broken cover, tv remote Nd even room phone did not work. - bathroom door did not lock with shower drain also broken. Have taken few pics and uploaded on google review. Hot shower was never fixed so by end of day was given another room. Room with issues was 2605.
- 1/5
My reservation was canceled via email. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the email as it was Christmas Day and another on the morning of 12/26/25. I’m not sure why a text or phone call wasn’t made. This was discovered on the train into NYC. The good news, we found a room for less money and closer to the theater we were going to, so it all worked out. Lesson learned…check email regardless of the day!
- 5/5
We are from Australia & would definitely recommend Hampton inn
- 5/5
breakfast cooks were so nice. awsome
- 4/5
Staff, location
- 4/5
Decent room, clean and front office staff are very friendly and helpful
- 4/5
Staff was fantastic. Only issue was the loud neighbors
- 5/5
clean room and breakfast
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and we were provided with everything we need. The staff was super helpful with everything. The heat and AC were good. Great overall experience.
- 5/5
Staff, room, breakfast, amenties
- 4/5
I have to buy drinking water from the hotel.I think that is bad
- 5/5
Very nice staff. Clean rooms. Hot shower. affordable and close enough to the Lyric theater and madame tusodes for a nice walking day
- 2/5
On another note, the hotel is outdated and needs work. The shower was extremely small. And whosever design idea it was to put the one set of elevators with a hotel that has 27 floors & tons of guests should be fired. The beds are terribly uncomfortable. But it was a bargain stay, so you get what you pay for.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was pleasant.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Great staff.
- 4/5
Decent
- 4/5
The room was a good size with a huge comfortable bed. The rooms need upgrading but overall the hotel was clean and the staff were real helpful and friendly.
- 3/5
The staff was friendly though.
- 4/5
Staff were excellent. The room was small, but standard for New York. It was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the fact that they only have 2 lifts to service 30 floors. Special mention to the night staff front desk girl. She was so polite and friendly.
- 1/5
The staff was not accommodating.
- 5/5
Staff were attentive and helpful.
- 5/5
polite and pleasant staff, clean and convenient to theatre district and other midtown sights
- 5/5
Staff were really nice, breakfast was wholesome and helped me with my work day.
- 3/5
Room and staff were great. Lobby area is worn. The elevators are small and slow. They took forever to use.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Hotel staff was friendly and let us leave our luggage while we explored the city before check in and also at check out. Location to Times Square and port authority were great.
- 5/5
Room was ok small but comfortable
- 3/5
Rooms were very small. No space to unpack your clothes. Smelled heavy of cleaners. Carpets were soaking wet when we arrived and didn’t dry for several days. Assumed they were just cleaned but not very clean. Front desk service was good and quick response with needs.
- 4/5
Rooms are comfy and nice. Staff was great. Jessica at the front desk was so helpful and cheerful. Hardest part is only 2 elevators for over 20 floors. Had to wait for a while for one, but learned to plan accordingly to include the wait time. Would recommend.
- 5/5
Everything great. Elevators are a nightmare. But everyone had great customer service
- 3/5
Everything was good but the bathroom. The toilet made a terrible noise rm 2503. We were only there one night.
- 5/5
Small. Elevators were slow and cramped but i think this is the case for all of the hotela in downtown NY
- 5/5
Jessica was great i was able to check out an hour later and leave my luggage there to go eat before i had to leave to the airport the breakfast was really good as well the workers in the breakfast area wrapped up my food to take it to my room very nice and accommodating hotel was close to were i wanted to be they also had cookies and gave us a goody bag will stay there again.
- 3/5
** the base of the shower was dirty. **the drain cover in the base of the shower was completely off of the pipe it was supposed to be covering. When I looked down, I was startled, a little frightened and repulsed. It was a dangerous situation as well. **there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. There were two switches on the wall, neither one activated the vent in the ceiling. **there was no light over the desk in the room—neither an overhead ceiling light nor a lamp! The room was very dimly lit overall. **there was no electrical outlet anywhere near the bed! If I had a CPAP machine, I would not have been able to use it. As it were, I had to plug in my cell phone charger on the desk outlet and run my long cord to the head of my bed. The USB ports located in the nightstand would not hold my USB charger cord in. They were worn out. **there were not enough seats at breakfast. The coffee bar was crowded and in an awkward place. Again, this could have been a very dangerous situation. No 1/2 &1/2 offered at coffee bar, just artificial garbage. Breakfast was anything but relaxing and enjoyable. **I did enjoy the Christmas tree and the gingerbread man in the lobby. **the staff, from checking in, anyone way I encountered, and especially the gentleman making a Belgian waffles at breakfast were all friendly and attentive. Paid close to $700 for this stay! I realize it’s December in NYC, but I expected better from Hampton.
- 5/5
We had a great stay, the room was nice and clean, check-in was easy, property was easy to navigate, and the clean staff was easy to work with. Hotel is in a great location to Times Square with breakfast on property or pick up options within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Location is good, ten minute walk from subway and Times Square. Staff was amazing! Comfortable beds but showers are a bit small.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff.
- 1/5
I use the safe in the room and couldn’t get into it so I called the front desk and they sent a thief up to the room to rob me and he took either two or $300. There were exactly 4 or 5 $100 bills in the safe and when he darted out of the room, there was only one $100 bill left in the safe. I reported it and I even followed up five times and was placed on hold by people claiming to find management all five times and left me on hold five minutes on the first one 17 minutes on the second one 15 minutes on the third one 10 minutes on the fourth one and while explaining on the fifth one was disconnected yet again. I will make this known all over the Internet for the rest of my life and hopefully no one will stay there ever again.

Great location for us
- 2/5
we had no hot water in. ourThat didn't happen told two more next day. Still didn't 't happen. Ne3xt day told another person. We got an email during the day saying it had been resolved. when we re3urned to our room, it still had no hot water in the sink. Its was never fixed the 5 nights we were there.;
- 5/5
The two gentlemen at the check in desk set the tone for a great experience.
- 5/5
Le personnel très courtois surtout celui du petit déjeuner 5/5 et celui de la réception de l’hôtel!
- 2/5
The place needs renovations and needs to match the services that other hotels at the same price range offers.
- 4/5
It was a great location for our trip!
- 5/5
We checked in no problems got gifts for Hilton Rewards members . Great location , location next to everything walking distance to Bryant park , Macy's on 34, Times Square , Joe's Pizza , 20 minute walk to Rockefeller and fifth Avenue. Came during Christmas time and NY did not Disappoint! Rooms were clean , free breakfast, and consistently got text messages to see if we needed anything. When I need a new towels, they bought them up right away.
- 4/5
Great breakfast!
- 5/5
nice
- 5/5
Our room was clean and the staff was incredibly nice! We stayed 3 nights over Thanksgiving and had a few problems with plumbing in our room, but staff was on top of it and fixed all problems we had in a timely fashion. We would definitely stay there again and strongly recommend to others.
- 2/5
This is a real hole in the wall and well below Hampton Inn standards. Years past needing a renovation.
- 3/5
Good staffing, excellent breakfast and good location. The room is small but comfortable
- 5/5
Great staff and location
- 2/5
The hotel was below average. The elevator used to take 15-30 mins to come to my floor (5th) and vice versa.
- 5/5
Great location, quiet and clean. Staff was attentive.
- 5/5
Great location near Times Square. Good security, felt safe. Very easy check-in. P
- 5/5
Best location. Near to everything. Loved the free breakfast. Nice people. Will be back one day!
- 2/5
Dirty
- 2/5
Minimum 10 min wait for elevator. Only 2 for all 32 floors and each only holds 6 people and house keeping uses same. After taxes it cost $100 a night for parking. If you want to use your car you pay an additional in and out charge of $100
- 5/5
Spotless room and great staff
- 3/5
Water pressure was almost nonexistent on the 20th floor.
- 5/5
Went for the Macys parade-great location-walkable to Times Square
- 5/5
Awesome and close to everything
- 5/5
Clean room, staff
- 3/5
The afternoon/evening staff was not helpful
- 3/5
Hotel is dated
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Great location.
- 4/5
The room always very very small. The pictures look very different. We had to keep our luggage in the closet bc there was no space to even put them on the ground. We had to walk in a single filed line and turn to the side to walk. ANYWHERE in the room it was kinda ridiculous.
- 5/5
Very great service and location!!
- 1/5
Security was also alarming. Someone entered our locked room while we were inside, and our concerns were dismissed. Although the assistant manager was professional and offered a one-night refund, we never received it, and the manager stopped responding. Overall, a very disappointing experience from a brand we expected much more from.
- 5/5
Everything was ok
- 4/5
The room was exactly what we needed. A place to rest, shower, and get to where we needed to go bc of its location.
- 5/5
Everyone was so nice, room was a little small for 2 beds but it was clean and the staff was absolutely amazing. Will definitely stay there again!
- 4/5
The Staff were lovely the location was good however the lifts were a real problem. Some mornings they just werent working at all!
- 5/5
everything was perfect and wonderful, the staff is amazing
- 4/5
Staff was pleasant and very attentive including the breakfast service staff. Management was quick to discuss options and resolved the issue of both elevators being broke at the same time.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Excellent i was so thanks full hotels staff too much couporative
- 4/5
We had a smoke smell every time we turned on the fan and there was an inconvenience of the elevators being down the Saturday of our trip.
- 5/5
The actual hotel/room was a tad dated but the customer makes up for that.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing - Zay in particular!
- 5/5
Loved it!
- 5/5
Rooms were small but clean. Great location. Front desk staff and all staff were very friendly and accommodating. Saud checked in multiple times during our 4 night stay. Would stay again. My only con was no microwave in the room but there was one in the lobby.
- 5/5
Very comfortable; great to be close to a good restaurant; excellent and professional staff.
- 5/5
Séjour au top à proximité de tout petit déjeuner super personnel agréable nous recommandons cet hôtel pour une visite de New York
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
It would have been nice to have a microwave in the room but there was one in the breakfast area we had access to. The temp was good. Comfortable bed. Nice TV. NICE STAFF
- 1/5
2 elevators and 1 of them not working, huge lineup to take elevator, not convenient at all since we were on high floor, and elevator was not fixed during our stay
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the room had multiple maintenance issues, including a shower that didn't drain, a towel bar that fell off the wall, and a bathroom door that didn't close enough to be locked. The elevator sometimes required a long wait, though no worse than a typical NYC hotel. Seems like the owners aren't spending enough on maintenance for what would otherwise be a very nice hotel.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, they were all so kind and amazing. Clean rooms, fast help or service! Thank you
- 5/5
El personal siempre fue amable, el desayuno completo y delicioso, Me encantó que hubiera café a cualquier hora. La habitación que me tocó fue muy pequeña para los 4 pero eso no fue problema.
- 3/5
The room was in good condition, but the TV isn't a smart one
- 3/5
Good location.
- 4/5
Clean but old and cramped.
- 4/5
Excellent staff.
- 5/5
It was a very pleasant stay, staff is very friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Staff was excellent, room was clean and close to a lot of the cool places in NYC
- 5/5
Room was very clean! The complementary breakfast was delicious with fresh NYC bagels. Great area a lot of things within walking distance!
- 5/5
Petit déjeuner extra Personnel extrêmement gentil
- 4/5
Great Gluten Free breakfast options and friendly staff. Room was clean and spacious.
- 4/5
Room was ok , not very big Breakfast was really good..enjoyed the cooked food and good selection of others bits and pieces. Only real issue is 2 lifts which where mega busy around 9 am . Had to wait 5-10 minutes as the lift kept coming but was already packed Good location though
- 5/5
Our stay was comfortable.
- 5/5
I have always been a “fan” of Hilton Hotels since the 90s. For a Manhattan Hotel this might me my new go to….
- 5/5
El staff en especial a Cesar muy diligente siempre lo que si deben mejorar la situacion de los asensores tiempo valioso esperando por el de lo demas todo bien. Nos vemos en la proxima.
- 5/5
Good localization, nearest to Times Square. Clean, great breakfast, confortável and kind staffs.
- 5/5
The staff and manager were professional, caring, compassionate, and very skillful in dealing with a wide variety of guests. I can say with confidence that this hotel has a first-rate staff who stand far above and beyond the norm.
- 4/5
All ok but property under maintained and old
- 2/5
The elevator was broken.
- 4/5
Yes ac good
- 4/5
We were happy that the breakfast options were as expected from other Hampton Inn stays. It’s very crowded! Like most NYC properties, space is limited. The hotel was clean but showed the typical maintenance issues found in most buildings in the city. Overall a great budget option!
- 2/5
For the price it was adequate but the hotel is older so therefore run down.
- 4/5
This is our second stay at the Hampton Inn . The customer service is amazing . Anything you ask for they will provide . The location is convenient. Bus Terminal , 5-6 minute walk to Times Square , Fashion District . Quiet at night . The breakfast had options for everyone. The only complaint I have is it is outdated and needs some work . Especially in the dining area perhaps new upholstery. The washrooms need a bit attention .
- 5/5
Comfortable room in a clean hotel. Close to Javitts Center, MSG and Times Square. Subway, Bus and Rail all within walking distance. Good continental breakfast.
- 2/5
This hotel is old and in need of major renovations. The elevator says 6 people per trip and please please please follow that. 2 extra people squeezed on with us and the elevator stopped and we were stuck for half an hour. My daughter got very very upset and when we finally got unstuck the manager was not very nice. The hotel was well worn,
- 3/5
Work and shower wouldn’t Drain properly. Room Was stuffy with a slight stench
- 4/5
The location of the hotel is very convenient, and it’s easy to walk to the Time Square area as well as to Penn Station and Hudson Yards. The staff was very friendly, especially the breakfast staff, and our room was good - no view on the 6th floor and a bit noisy outside but a comfortable bed and decent size.
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Safe area, Clean rooms
- 4/5
Ok, you have everything you need for a few nights stay
- 5/5
Centrally located five minutes from Times Square, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again!
- 5/5
Subway was also close and easy to get around Manhattan. Staff were very friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Will say there again.
- 3/5
process. When we arrived back we checked in quickly. Our room was clean but in need of maintenance. Towel bars were missing, wall paper peeling and in need of other minor repairs in the bathroom. Most likely would not recommend for any future stays.
- 4/5
Helpful staff and good proximity to shops
- 5/5
Great stay.
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast
- 1/5
, we reported to the lobby staff but nothing changed. Walls and furniture were dirty. A lot of the furniture had splinters.
- 5/5
Everyobe was nice, tge rooms were ckean, it was by everything we wanted to do
- 4/5
Handy for downtown
- 5/5
Great staff, very helpful.
- 2/5
Inexcusable for the over $500 a night stay.
- 4/5
Excellent place
- 5/5
It was great
- 5/5
Amazing service and super friendly quick responders.
- 2/5
We were told 3 different times to check into our room. They told us that the staff didn’t clean any rooms because they were having a party we waited 4 hrs before we could even get into a room. Then when we got into our room our door was broken it wouldn’t shut all the way and when it did shut it was hard to get back in. They sent someone to fix it but they told us that they had to remove the whole door knob and they couldn’t do it . So for 3 days we struggled with getting into our room . Absolutely ridiculous never coming back
- 4/5
Unfortunately our room was right next to the lift which made it difficult to sleep.
- 4/5
Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
We were centrally located so it was easy to get to a lot of places
- 3/5
The condition of the lobby is "adequate" at best. The walls outside the elevators were damaged, the lobby was cluttered with luggage, the toilet for guests was out of service, to name a few. And this is NOT a budget hotel. The room was adequate and clean. The storage within the room is minimal and the shower is possibly the smallest shower I have ever been in. Outside of some teenagers pounding on the door next to our room at 11:30 pm, the environment was fine. Have no plans to stay there again!
- 4/5
Convenient location. Nice staff.
- 5/5
The staff was very courteous, friendly, professional. In the evening I would get a text msg from the manager asking if everything was ok with my stay. I did not want room services so I asked for clean towels and in not time towels were delivered to my door. Breakfast was not as a "high end" hotel but acceptable with a variety of choices. If I return to NYC I would consider staying in this hotel again.
- 5/5
This hotel is a perfect location for a 2-day mid-week getaway. The rooms are rather small for two people and a few adjustments could be made to the room itself -- more hangers in closet, sturdier plug-ins for electronics, couldn't turn on tv (though we wouldn't have watched it anyway), move bathroom mirror up an inch or two bc impossible to use the faucet without hitting the bottom of the mirror. Those are the only negatives. The staff was all super friendly and efficient. Front desk girl very accommodating when we arrived early. Not only is breakfast hot, fresh and tasty, but staff makes and serves waffles direct to your table. Lots of little amenities like coffee, tea and cookies in lobby make it feel homey. And decent price (under $500/night) was what we were expecting.
- 4/5
The staff were helpful and friendly and the accommodation was good, central to what we were visiting.
- 5/5
Good 👍
- 4/5
Nice
- 4/5
Clean great stuff and good location
- 4/5
Thanks that you give to quests leave the baggage for safe
- 4/5
Cleaning staff daily and the guy running breakfast made all the difference this time. Very friendly and extremely helpful and attentive. I have been coming to this hotel every year for the Labor Day weekend for the past 9 years. The breakfast guy made me forget about all the frustrations from the defective elevator.
- 5/5
The hotel lobby is very small but it's relatively clean. The hotel is just a very tall and very narrow building. There are only six rooms on each floor. The rooms appear to be newly renovated. New carpets newer furnishings All In fighter Shades of gray and brown and tan. Very modern looking. Bathroom is very clean and also appears to be newly renovated. There are soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower and soap and moisturizer dispenser by the sink. They also have a buffet breakfast starting at 6:00 a.m.. I think this hotel is quite a bargain through Expedia. I would recommend it.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, reasonable breakfast, very convenient location, small rooms
- 4/5
Overall, great value. Staff was great, especially Cesar in the breakfast room. Some of the hotel was dated, but everything was in working condition and clean. Most amenities were within walking distance.
- 5/5
It was safe. The customer service was great.
- 4/5
well kept and convenient to walking aroung area
- 5/5
Lovely team of people and excellent breakfast waffles made by a charming and friendly gentleman. Close to everywhere and great room.
- 4/5
Limpio, cómodo, ubicación excelente. Pueden mejorar en el desayuno.
- 4/5
Loved that the staff followed up on a daily basis to see if there was anything we needed to ensure a comfortable stay. Items were delivered promptly. Loved the breakfast staff as well, especially the waffle guy :) Definitely noticed the wear and tear of this hotel, though, in some areas quite prominent. Our AC unit worked really well but had a broken vent piece. Towels had rips and the material rough and thin. Floor area on the 23rd floor smelled very damp and sour (most likely from the carpet?)
- 5/5
Friendly staff, comfortable and clean room also great breakfast.
- 3/5
Really good location 10 mins to Times Square, however hotel was just okay. In need of a really good update, lifts were awful, breakfast okay but mayhem as area too small and not enough staff so not cleaned as much as it needed. Room a little on the small side. But, in comparison to other hotels it was a lot cheaper with brats included.

.
- 4/5
The elevator gave a lot of trouble but was fixed several times during our stay. It my second time staying at this property. Did ask about a bigger room if I visited again and the lady said Incould request a n accessibly room.
- 4/5
Rooms weren’t very soundproof so unfortunately could hear every door slam from neighbors and sounds from outside. But we just used room for sleeping and hanging out between excursions so overall, met our needs!
- 3/5
elevators broke down twice over a 48 hour stay. front desk staff were curt and rude
- 4/5
Front desk staff was amazing
- 4/5
The staff was amazing! The breakfast staff were wonderful! The room was nice. The hotel is dated and there were issues with the elevator. We would definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Excellent Location. It’s right in the heart of the Times Square Area with shops, theatres & restaurants on your doorstep. Yes it’s not a 5 star hotel , but in that location it represents excellent value for money. Breakfast is included too, which is a great start for a day of sightseeing.
- 5/5
Loved the location. Breakfast was great. Staff extremely helpful. A little dicey walking around at night near hotel. Fitness center poor. Expected better from Hilton property
- 3/5
No issue for price of hotel really. Hotel could do with modernisation. Room smelt a bit damp. Breakfast was fine. Lobby staff were friendly and helpful
- 3/5
The staff was not helpful even that I did chat with the GM and some Front Desk personal, they did not comply with my request. The rooms are ok but cheap. Shower area very small.
- 4/5
Storage for cases was great as check in at 3pm which enabled family to explore new york prior to registering. Staff helpful Rooms clean and lovely towels
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
Good Staff, but old facility
- 5/5
Elevator has to be upgraded
- 2/5
we had a cockroach in our bedroom and the elevators were broken. we had to walk up 32 flights of stairs because the elevators were broken/not working. that being said the service and staff were sooooo friendly so if you don’t mind that other stuff too much the service definitely makes up for it
- 5/5
The hotel people were kind.
- 2/5
I will never stay here again
- 2/5
We arrived at around 12PM, the room wasn’t ready which is fine since the check-in was at 3PM, and the employee told us she was going to contact housekeeping so the room would be ready when we came back. We return to the hotel at 3PM and the room still wasn’t ready and that they were going to contact housekeeping to give our room priority. We wait in the lobby and they still don’t call us, I ask again a half an hour later and the room still wasn’t ready. I ask an hour later, the room still isn’t ready. My parter goes and asks an hour and a half later and the room is magically ready. They gave us a room but never offered us anything for the inconvenience, they were giving everyone small gift bags except for us. We arrive to the door of the room and it didn’t open with one of our cards. As for the room, it had sort of a musty smell to it. Housekeeping came and only fixed the bed and put new towels, no vacuum or anything. The bathroom was dirty. Check-out was easy, we were offered a ride to the airport for a more affordable price than Uber and Lyft, but there was no information about that in the hotel or website. We asked if they had a card or pamphlet but the employee said there wasn’t any, that the service was directly with him. We preferred a more reliable service and we went with Lyft. I never had such a bad experience in a hotel.
- 4/5
I would visit again. Close to time square which i loved
- 3/5
It was nice but need a bit improvement
- 4/5
Bigger shower.
- 5/5
I'm not a traveler, this was only my second time in New York in like 15ish years. We pretty much checked in and had to go right away. But the breakfast was great, It was not what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was nice.
- 5/5
Great place! Great people
- 3/5
Great location for all the tourist spots. Convenient access to the metro, bus etc. The room was as expected for the price in such a central location, and cleanliness was good. Breakfast was decent and a wonderfully friendly attendant making waffles if you wanted them! Only 2 lifts serving a large number of rooms, so at times the wait could be quite long and frustrating, especially if you were on a higher floor and didn't feel like walking 20+ floors.
- 5/5
Nice area, convenient to a lot of different places. The hotel was in a safe area. The breakfast was nice- cheese omelets, waffles, sausage some mornings and bacon other mornings, oatmeal, potatoes, and much more. Cesar made you feel like a guest in his personal kitchen helping you find seating and making the waffles to order. He was quite the personality and it was noticeable when he wasn't working that day.
- 4/5
We got what we paid for and more at the Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square South. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Cesar the breakfast attendant who made every breakfast a delight. The breakfast food exceeded our expectations with choices and quality. The rooms are small (we had 2 double beds for 2 adults + 2 children and just fitted in) but the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. Others complain of slow elevators but don't let that put you off, it only held us up once at 945am when lots of people were checking out. We waited 9 minutes during this peak time, otherwise in 3 days we had no waiting at all. I would stay there again. Convenient location, easy walk to various subway/train stations and good value for money (for NYC that is!)
- 5/5
I had a very enjoyable experience and a great time and couldn't fault my stay at your hotel and the staff were very helpful in ensuring we had pleasant stay.
- 4/5
Good!
- 5/5
Property very central - felt safe. Breakfast good but space is limited. Ask for a low floor so you can easily utilise stairs as can be waiting for lifts a long time. We would stay again.
- 5/5
Great workers !!
- 3/5
Easy access to Times Square and lots of food options.
- 5/5
Great location, great service.
- 2/5
Missing sheet for bed. Overcharge parking for no reason.
- 5/5
Excelente!!! Su ubicación es perfecta!! Personal super amable
- 4/5
Staff are pleasant, the only concern is the mattress you can hear the spring and the base of the bed makes noise. But all is ok.
- 5/5
room was big, staff were very nice. pretty clean as well
- 5/5
Clean and nice people working there at the hotel and breakfast was delicious
- 5/5
Enjoyed my stay.
- 3/5
Only two small elevators that we spent half an hour or more waiting for. Towels and linens were threadbare and scratchy. Shower door was stuck as the sliding door track seemed rusted.
- 5/5
Bed was comfortable
- 5/5
The Hampton Inn staff were always friendly and helpful, ammenities were great. Room clean and very comfortable. Close to Times Square and great shopping. Close to public transport. Highly recommend and would definitely be back. Thanks Linda & Dennis New Zealand
- 3/5
We felt bad for the housekeeping staff however. They were extremely limited in their ability to do their job since they had to share the elevators with the guests. There were only 2 (tiny) elevators in the entire hotel which didn't even support the number of guests, let alone the housekeeping staff as well. Waiting for extended periods of time for an elevator was common. We resorted to using the stairs many times even though we stayed on the 25th floor. However, the location was great, close proximity to many restaurants, bars, and entertainment.
- 5/5
Good service
- 4/5
Excellent hotel in a great location. Close from Time Square and the Theatre District. Quiet at night (but the noise from the streets might've been drowned out with the a/c noise in the room). Clean room, quick service. We didn't eat breakfast there, but the selections seemed really great just like other Hampton Inn hotels I've stayed at. The dining area seems VERY full though. It would've been hard to find a table for us, if we did want to eat there. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the elevator service. During the rush hour in the morning, the elevator would come by all full, so we had to wait almost 10 min to be able to get on it. And once we were on the elevator, it would of course stop at every floor even though it was already full because practically everybody is waiting for the elevator to come, so it takes another 5 min or more to get to the ground level. So make sure to have lots of time in the morning to get out of the building...
- 2/5
They messed up my car in the valet parking. I will never stay there again!!
- 2/5
Bathroom door was swollen could not close and windows don't open. Breakfast staff friendly. Reception don't even say hello very miserable.
- 1/5
Pokey rooms, smallest I’ve ever stayed in! no space to even put luggage! Had to put 2 cases in the wardrobe, one on the desk and one in front of the door. We had two double beds for us and our 2 small kids. inadequate lifts for size of hotel which means it’s quicker to walk 18 flights of emergency stairs. Would hate to be there if the hotel needed evacuating. Breakfast a complete bun fight so overcrowded it’s not even worth attempting- waited 30mins for my sons waffle, no seating nor standing room people were taking back to their rooms! Queuing to even get a drink or cereal was ridiculous. Pay the extra and go elsewhere would be my advice. Not the staffs fault who were polite and helpful. Just a rundown overcrowded hotel. Only 6 rooms on each floor (and there’s 32) Not a pleasant environment to go back to after a day’s sightseeing.
- 5/5
The staff was super nice even with a disgruntled customer on the phone line next to them. Great experience.
- 5/5
Everything was excellent except the elevators. There were 2 for 32 floors. I often walked down for breakfast because the elevators were too full even waiting 20 minutes. Otherwise an excellent hotel.
- 2/5
I'm not one to normally leave reviews, but my experience at the Hampton Inn Times Square South was very unsatisfactory. I was awoken around 7am on my first day by someone pounding on my door and yelling at me to come downstairs immediately. They claimed the room did not belong to me and I needed to come to the lobby. This was terrifying. I couldn't tell if it was actually an employee so I refused to open the door for safety reasons. I called the front desk a multitude of times while this was happening to confirm the person actually worked for the hotel, but no one answered. After an hour of them yelling at me and threatening to call the police, I gave them my ID and they went downstairs. Sure enough, the room did indeed belong to me. The whole experience made me feel very unsafe and it was completely unwarranted. I checked in at the front desk the day before and received a room key to that exact room, so there should have been no reason they claimed the room wasn't mine. The whole rest of the trip I felt uncomfortable going back to my room out of fear that there would be another similar issue. If I were you, I'd avoid this hotel and look for something else.
- 5/5
Great location, great stay and price. Elevators were slow in the mornings and not enough breakfast seating but the free breakfast was worth it.
- 5/5
Cesar who works in the breakfast area will be my first memory, he is simply amazing! The whole staff gave quite a positive experience.

Great location. Easy hotel for central manhattan
- 5/5
Excelente lugar y la ubicación es perfecta. El cuarto estuvo excelente y muy limpio. 10/10
- 3/5
The hotel has an excellent location. The rooms are small and everything is very old, but they are clean. The restaurant doesn't have enough capacity for all the guests at breakfast time. Special thanks to Mr. César, the excellent waiter. Overall, the hotel is expensive for what it offers, but the service is good.
- 5/5
Excellent location! Easy access to port authority and transport. Close enough walking distance to so much: Times Square, 5th avenue shops, Empire State Building. Simple bus ride to Chelsea and Hell kitchen area. Breakfast was ok, to be expected
